From the start, Synergy exceeded the competing companies. Mike took the time to come to the site several times to be sure the design approach was correct before finalizing his bid: something the other bidders didn't do. We had set our strategy for solar several years earlier when we upgraded our electrical service, but PG&E buy-back rates had plummeted since, and that meant we needed to change the design to better utilize our batteries to save on our utility bills. The other solar contractors didn't catch that, and I'm sure it would have resulted in a change order after the contract was signed if we had chosen one of them. When the time for installation arrived, the building framing and roof was running late and compressing our deadline. In 2021 Synergy Solar installed storage batteries for my home and car that then included the solar panels, electric heat pump for radiant floor heating and electric water heater, and EV charging station. I have had use of my battery storage this winter on two occasions in my rural area and have been very happy with the relative comfort of having the storage capacity. The owners, technicians, and other staff were extremely competent and responsive. Rebuilt our house post Tubbs fire and these people were the most professional, on-time, cleaned up after themselves, took PRIDE in their work. From the initial estimates I knew EXACTLY what I was getting, what the rebates were worth, my return on investment for energy sold back to PG&E. Everything was up front - no surprises. The Enlighten Enphase software, downloaded on my iPhone and iPad, allows for system monitoring in real time, including energy produced, imported from the grid, and grid dependence. We just had our solar installation completed by Synergy. We initially had them out for a quote a year ago but they discovered some roof issues that first needed to be fixed. Jeff from Synergy suggested a roofer who did a fantastic job on the roof. So this year, we went ahead with solar. Jeff and Mike really are experts and made us very comfortable with the technology. Their proposal scoped out exactly what we would need and they explained everything very clearly and even came out a second time to clarify things. Jeff told us it would take at least a month to get us installed but they got the panels fast and were able to squeeze us in to their schedule within a couple of weeks. They did a seamless job with the installation. The panels looks great and they did a good job cleaning up things. One really cool thing is the system connects via wi-fi with a website that shows how much is produced real-time. Amazing how much is produced in mid-October when the sun already low. Even cooler is that our panels will cover our entire electric bill for the year and that we are helping the environment. read more

We spent a fair amount of time researching solar energy and quite a few solar companies. We used Solar Sonoma Co Clean Energy Advocate program. Geoff at SSCEA was supportive and helpful. Based on our needs he gave us three local vendors who used local and US made products to choose from We ended up narrowing it down to two local solar companies. Both were very helpful with answering all of my questions. When it came down to it, we choose a company that made themselves accessible and honest. In the end we went with Synergy. Not only is Jeff incredibly knowledgeable, about all things Solar, he is the owner not a Sales Person working on commission. Furthermore Jeff is highly involved with solar energy in both the county and the state. We liked their methodology and product set they used. Mike is the other owner and in charge of the installation process itself. He too is knowledgeable, professional, EXTREMELY responsive! In addition, they were willing to work with us to get the best layout of the solar panels as well as the power panel change we needed. Chaz and Micheal did a professional install which was clean and the panel placement on our roof was not tacky looking at all! I've been looking at solar for years and decided now was the time, as PG&E is about to phase out NEM-1 and we wanted to lock it in. I contacted Synergy Solar after comparing bids through EnergySage, an outfit recommended by Consumer Reports (I give Energy Sage high marks as a platform to quickly & efficiently compare pre-screened solar installers, although many aren't local). I had Synergy and 3 other outfits come out and provide proposals. Jeff (co-owner of Synergy) responded instantly and came up with a design that was different from any of the others, unique to our site, more practical than others (all of which were pretty standard) and to top it off, lowest in $/watt. What really sold me was Jeff's level of knowledge and long experience -- he's not a salesman like the others, who dialed up their designs through an iPad app and really couldn't commit to details without consulting with the mother ship, which would have taken forever. Jeff is very good at figuring out how to maximize payoff, not just watt output. He is also up on the latest escapades of PG&E as this behemoth tries to figure out how to deal with growing solar self-generation capacity. We were sweating bullets about getting installed prior to NEM-2. Mike (other co-owner) came out and got the crew (all top-notch) going. The system was done and interconnection accomplished weeks ahead of schedule. The Enphase solution, including real-time monitoring app and upcoming lithium-iron batteries, is elegant.
