Went to the bathroom, saw some flies, thought they were only a problem in the bathroom, WRONG. Do not sit near the window, there were like 5 of them, VERY DISTRACTING!!! Food was alright. Had the fruit pancakes, strawberry chunks were a little too big but otherwise no complaints. Workers were nice. AI dessert menu threw me off. Might have given 3.5 if Yelp had half stars, but I'd say closer to 3 than 4. read more

while visiting wildwood crest, we had a stellar breakfast at sun'z up cafe! our server Mary was so nice and helpful, mentioning that the kitchen can be flexible with any tweaks we wanted. we both had omelettes, I had the pierre, which had mushrooms brie and garlic, so tasty! he had the mediterranean, which had spinach feta and black olives, really hit the mark. potatoes & toast were both done just right. the room is adorable beachy decor inside, with a covered outdoor seating area as well. we may drive back to the crest again just for breakfast. read more

Went here a couple of days ago while on vacation...wait wasn't bad. Tried their cold brew latte, both flavors were sour? Then got the beach bum meal with pancakes, potatoes, scrambled eggs and bacon. The pancakes were so doughy and undercooked, the scrambled eggs were overcooked outside but still runny inside. I asked for the bacon well done and it did not come out that way, it almost tasted stale. The potatoes were somehow sour. Very surprised at the long wait at this place. We have been here for breakfast in the past and everything was good. I'm told there are new owners. Today the waitress never came back to refill our coffees or ask how things were. Superb steak dinner with the flavors deserving of a NYC restaurant! My husband had a delicious fish dinner and raved on and on about it. Sunz up Cafe is under new and fabulous ownership. Dinner has been added and I couldn't be happier about it. Right now it's the best secret and reservations aren't needed. That could change when people find out how fair the prices are for this type of quality! No matter what I have ordered from breakfast lunch or dinner, I don't need to eat anywhere else. The old staff has remained on and they are happier with the new owners, who are so pleasant. They also have a separate ice cream area called Scoops next door. The coffee tasted like boiled water, had to send it back. My baby's chocolate milk was NOT MILKY. It was mostly carrageenan & syrup confirmed by the waitress. The omelette was rubbery & burnt. The potatoes were burnt. The toast was black and burnt yet soggy so they probably made it an hour ago. They have no acoustic control in terms of curtains or paneling so it was LOUD, as if you were at a concert. The parking lot was very hard to get in and out of. If you can't make a coffee and an egg as a diner... not sure what the appeal is. My baby's sausage appeared to be undercooked (not browned) which is weird because they burnt everything else. Disappointed I've been coming here for several years with my family. We talk about the orange juice and a pancakes all year long this year when we walked up, we noticed something different. The young lady that's always in the front wasn't there and the place looked a little different long story short they sold the place in April service was great. The food is not the same. The orange juice wasn't the same pancakes were undercooked and didn't taste as good me and my family are disappointed, but wish the new owners success. Food was good but not as good as it was before. Coffee was tasty! French Toast was toasty and French! The raspberry jam OMG even my wife couldn't stop stealing it off my plate! She got a sausage egg n cheese. This is an incredibly popular breakfast location so be prepared to wait at least twenty minutes for a table, especially on the weekends. There is a combination of indoor and outdoor tables and they have a person directing the seating due the volume of traffic. We waited about twenty minutes and sat indoors and the place is bright and cheery with plenty of regulars. The hours are 7AM to 1PM and the menu is quite extensive, especially the kinds of pancakes one can order. I had the traditional stack with a glass of freshly squeezed Orange Juice and my dining partner had the eggs with hash brown, sausage and bacon and a cup of coffee. Our waitress was very nice and did a great job as the rumor was they were so busy they would have to close early because they were running out of food! We were a large group of 7 (4 adults 3 kids) in need of breakfast so we walked in here on a lazy Sunday morning. We were equally impressed by the quality of the food, the prices, and efficiency with which this place operates. From the point of reaching the restaurant to being seated by the hostess it was less than a minute. Coffees? Yes please. Juices for the kids? Yep. Egg sandwiches and pancakes for the kids - huevos rancheros and eggs benedict, and the likes for the adults. Everything tasted spectacular and arrived at our table with lightning speed, with my daughter commenting that "this was the best pancake I've ever had". My only cautionary note (if you can call it that) is that portions here are very large so plan accordingly. The flip side of this is that it's a great bang for your $. Waitress was exceptionally skilled and service was seamless. All in all this will be our go to breakfast place next time we are in Wildwood Crest. read more

I went to this Cafe for breakfast on a weekend in September. There was a short wait to be seated. The staff did seem to be running around as they were short staffed. There was some free parking on the streets nearby which was great. The service throughout was just okay. It took a while to get the food and the check once we were done. I wouldn't really hold this against them since it seems like a lot of places are having staffing shortages. The food itself was just okay. The French toast had way too much cinnamon on it. Super cute and I loved the vibe. I immediately turned my 2 phones on silent as I was in town for business, but I was more than happy to not disturb other diners with my city slicker ways because it just felt like that was the atmosphere here. I was promptly greeted and seated by Olga who apparently is the owner along with her husband? Either way she was warm and friendly and brought some delicious hot strong coffee to me within seconds. I am here in the off season and early in the am so it wasn't crowded but I could see they were going to get much more busy before their 1:00pm closing time. The food- omgggggg. Plentiful for one, I wasn't expecting such a hearty portion. Delicious hot, presented very nicely on the colorful plates, and with a smile. Bacon done perfectly. Toast actually toasted and buttered! Just top tier all around. I had to wolf my food down and get to work otherwise I would have just hung around and people watched for a bit. Of course I had to get a takeout box and I still likely won't finish it lol. But, not because it wasn't DELICIOUS. I am definitely going to return. Amazing food, good service! I order the veggie eggs Benedict and my partner ordered the Beach Bum Special. Our food was so fresh I couldn't believe how great it tasted. The pancakes were some of the best I have ever had. My eggs on my Benny were perfectly poached and the hollandaise was delicious. It came with tomato, mushrooms, and spinach and the quantity of the veggies was massive. Normally when I order veggies for breakfast I don't really feel like there is enough but they piled on the spinach and gave me nice thick slices of a delicious tomato. We will definitely be back. Great local diner on the back bay side of the Crest. We ate outside on the covered patio as it was warm enough on an early October Sunday after mass and there was no wait for outdoor seating. The inside was packed at around 10 am. It is a popular spot amongst the locals. My husband enjoyed Oh what a Mess and a side of scrapple. I had the the Mediterranean Omelette. We both enjoyed the meal. Coffee was good and so was the service. We will return the next time we are in town. read more

Came here for breakfast this morning with my boyfriend, sat there for 10 minutes without a server saying anything to us. There were maybe 3-4 tables in the restaurant, as it was 8:30 am, not busy at all. They kept passing by, looking at us, then proceeding to the back without a word. We were here on a weekday morning in August, so there was a little bit of a wait but it was well worth it. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Our waitress told us she started working there after eating there. She said she'd enjoy working someplace where the food was so good. She told us that everything on the menu was fantastic, and she was not wrong. We ordered blueberry pancakes, a baked potato omelette, and a single gingerbread pancake (I didn't want pancakes for breakfast but had to try one). The pancakes were light, fluffy, and tall-so delicious. I feel bad for not taking a picture of them to share. The baked potato omelette was fantastic-bacon, cheddar cheese, potatoes and broccoli (yes, broccoli!), topped with sour cream. It may sound odd but it was so good! The gingerbread pancake was spiced and fluffy-easily 3/4" thick. The next time I'm in the area we will absolutely be dining here for breakfast. read more
