This super 1 is nice and spot on with their Rosauers cousins. It's well organized and the produce section is well maintained unlike some of the local competitors. The store was clean and well stocked. Their pricing is a bit higher than the competition, but you get a roomier, and better maintained store as a result. Got my items, took advantages of a few sales, everyone was very friendly as usual. HOWEVER, I went to register 1. The man who packed my groceries placed the milk sideways on the bottom with the 2 donuts and then put the potatoes on top of that. - I have a leak dribbling milk out up at the top seem .. didn't loose much, it's now upright and prolly okay. - My 2 donuts are now basically 1 squished donut. Ridiculous! I'd have brought the milk and donuts back but I've been out all day and am now in my chair icing my broken back. Train your baggers better, please! read more

I just love this place! I can call for a roast beef and veggie dinner and they will have a fresh dinner ready in 2 hours. A life saver for me when I cant think of what to fix and want something with substance. I can grab a bag of salad and whoopee.....a great dinner! I don't mind paying a little bit extra for excellent service and quality food, but unfortunately, this is not what happens here at Super 1. They charge premium prices but fail to deliver on service and especially quality food. I have bought spoiled and outdated food from Super 1 so many times that I finally just started going a couple of extra blocks east on 29th to go to Rosauers or Safeway. I'm in the deli right in front of the menu sign that says any substitutions are $1.00, and I argued with the girl working the deli who said we don't do substitutions. She would not come out to where I was to even look at the sign until another employee confirmed that I was speaking the truth, and then she mumbled something under her breath and just walked off. This store is weird and sketchy and is probably a Rosauers discount store where they sell stuff from other stores that is stale or outdated. read more

I had a friend go into this store, as they were shopping with their items and form of payment IN HAND a man grabbed and accused them of stealing. I like coming here but the prices are generally on the higher end. 1.) They have self checkouts! This seems like a small thing, often taken for granted, but no other supermarkets in the area have them. Not Roseurs, Safeway or Albertsons. Nothing is better than breezing through self-checkout with a couple items, especially early in the morning or late at night when you don't want to chit-chat. 2.) Beer and wine selection is huge 3.) Seafood selection is strong. Again, prices are high but if you're looking for something special there's a good chance they have it. 4.) The store is clean and well-kept and the vibe is up-beat. I love Super One! They are the perfect mix of a normal grocery store like a Safeway, and same thing with more specialty local foods like a Trader Joe's or Huckleberries. I am never disappointed by the produce section, which says a lot about a store. Their prices are pretty decent to begin with, and even better when they are on sale. They offer all of the main brands on items, and even some more generic ones. I typically go through every aisle rather than skipping around the store to certain items that I need. If that's what you do, you might get a little confused but there's always someone around to help you. Some of my favorite items come from the butcher and the bakery. They just opened a second location up in old town Idaho, and I believe that that one is even open 24 hours a day. I can't wait for them to make even more locations! read more

Avoid this store like the plague. I guess because their located on the south hill they feel like they have a license to steal. their prices overall are the highest in town across the board. The more I shopped the madder I got. I wanted some Franz onion bagels they wanted $5.17 for a 6 pack . Total ripoff that's about $2.00 higher than anywhere else in town. I continued looking around and was stunned at how bad this store gouges people on their pricing. I have money but I don't like to be ripped off by anyone. I used to think it was a little pricey here, but when you shop the deals here you can get some great value! Great produce--never had anything bad from there for the past 9 months--and I go every week. Doughnuts from the bakery are the best I've ever had at any grocery store--perhaps not doughnut shop quality, but given the price and the variety of those that are quite tasty I am a total fan. Any meat I have gotten is great. The customer service is excellent. Honestly can't say a bad thing about it other than it can be pricey if you don't shop the deals. Most other bad reviews seem to be from people that have moved here from California and just like to complain or think that California is so much better than everywhere else... One other thing to keep in mind is the is part of REGIONAL grocery store that is supporting LOCAL businesses, not a big chain store...always a plus! read more

Props to Faith (employee at the store). We met her when she was giving out goat cheese samples and she was friendly and helpful. THEN she mentioned needing help learning their new espresso machine so she did a great job making us cappachinos. This store takes CoVid seriously and really supports masking. There are hourly sanitizing procedures throughout the store, a person to assist with masks and sanitizing at the front door. A great store in general but especially impressive in these difficult times. read more

This locally owned grocery store gives it's food a 200% freshness guarantee. For the graphic design nerds they have a charming super-hero logo and for the budget-minded they have consistently fair prices. They have good organic baby food selection and good help when you accidentally drop a glass jar of baby food in the aisles. I have found that the produce is consistent and abundant. Their meat department has a nice variety of sausages. I can always find the local favorites in the beer and wine department, as well as local honey, milk, and most importantly, coffee. They seem to hire local youths, which is nice, and they are very insistent about taking out your bags. I've become a Super 1 devotee because I generally leave the store smiling from a conversation with an employee. They also have an olive bar. read more

As far as conventional grocery stores go Super 1 is about as good as it gets. A recent remodel turned what was once a style fit for some discount dollar store into a nice looking interior and exterior. A few things in particular set Super 1 above the competition. Firstly, Super 1 is owned and operated by Rosauers Supermarkets. The Rosauers world headquarters is located on the north side of Spokane. So, it's local! Spending money at Super 1 means more of it stays in the community than if you go to Safeway or Albertsons. Secondly, the bakery and butcher both prepare nearly everything in house. There is a smoker for sausages and the ground beef is ground in the store. Over in the produce department you'll find guys in their 50s and 60s who have been working at Super 1 for ages. They know their fruit and where it comes from. Finally, the front end staff is super friendly. Granted, there is turnover, but many of the checkers and baggers have been working at Super 1 for years, some even since it opened in the early 90s. They know a lot of the shoppers by name and if it is slow they'll gladly have a conversation with you. The only exception to this is a rather new manager named Brad. The old manager would open up a checkstand if it got busy, bag and carry groceries to customers cars or take you to the item you were looking for. This new guy doesn't do anything like that and he has never been very nice when I've dealt with him. Worry not about him though, he stays tucked away in his office most of the time so you probably won't see him. A typical grocery store that goes above and beyond with customer service, that's a rarity in the days of automated check out machines. read more

I am always impressed with the service at this store, I have never been mistreated here. When we came to the store today we forgot our wallet in the car, so the checker slowed down on processing our groceries, she did not make me move or wait for another customer to go through.
