I travel a lot for work, so trust me when I say this. You will not find another more reasonably priced and accommodating hotel than this Super 8. It has all the niceties of a $120 a night place. The rooms were clean and modern, they had a microwave and mini-fridge, and you can get to Subway and a convenience store without driving. It's family owned and they treat you more like family than a traveler, not to mention they offer a nice breakfast (try the little pancakes) and they somehow make some of the best coffee I've had. And be sure and check out the elevator, it has the coolest panels of the Utah landscape--it's art. Try them out...they are right off the exit. read more

If I could give this a minus 5 I'd do that. Biohazard, finger nail clippings all over the floor between beds. Filth on walls, smell was disgusting. So absolutely disgusting. We had already unpacked and we were ready for bed. We didn't want to call and move rooms. This hotel is discussing. After checking in went to the room and carpet next to bed was drenched in water, went to front desk to talk to the manager. He offered towels to lay on the floor. Next morning side of the bed was wet the towels on floor were soaked the bathroom was flooded with water. Leaking from ceiling. Light could not be shut off in bathroom. Toilet ran all night. Hoping for no issues but a little wary after reading the other reviews. The cats are desperate for a stop so David is inside checking us all in. It's taking so long that I'm starting to worry. The lot is full so I'm nervous about safety. I just called him and he says he's getting the key. At check in: the clerk told David that there has never been a single car break in the whole decade plus that he has worked here. It's clothes and papers in the roof top cargo bag, so it would be a headache if it was torn open. The room is pretty standard... but it is clean and the bed is fine. 104 out the door with both cats. I'll take it. Decor is dated but not unpleasant. I was relieved to see that other than the carpet and the scratchy coverlet it was pretty much the same as the last super 8. Desk clerk is pretty much trying to be helpful. The vending machine malfunctioned. "It does that sometimes." They gave us a Costco water in compensation. The ice machine works. The door lock doesn't turn but there is a chain. Non-stop talking outside... but... Sleepity. Night night. read more

Inexpensive spot for travelers, just off I-15 in Cedar City, Utah. Complimentary breakfast, but it's ALL carbs, bread, cereals, waffles, juice, etc. The only non-carb item was coffee, but hey it's comp. Rooms are clean, front desk was friendly and helpful and offered a few dining suggestions for the area. Microwave, refrigerator, in-room coffee maker satellite TV, desk, hot shower, this was exactly what I was looking for and I found it Only reason 3 stars instead of 4 or 5 is because it's budget digs, and not anything fancy. You can tell the kind of experience you are going to have when your room contains a desk-sign, a perfectly professionally manufactured and printed sign that lists the price you will be charged if you take various things from the room: Towels: $15 TV remote: $10 TV itself: $500 Comforter: $300 Phone: $50 WHO STEALS A HOTEL PHONE ????? The first thing that hits you when you open the door to your room is the musty smell that comes from having the doors and windows closed all the time and the A/C running continually. This is by no means the only hotel with that situation, but it's worth noting. The A/C is an older model with a LOUD fan, even when on the LOW setting. The usual correction to this problem is to set the fan to "ON" so that the fan runs all the time while the A/C cuts in and out, but the A/C doesn't have that feature here. This means you go from DEAD SILENT to a loud, rumbling A/C fan for 8-10 minutes and then back to dead silent all night long. In the morning we headed to the lobby for coffee and the very best description I can give the "free breakfast" was BLEAK. Cereal was Frosted Flakes and another sugar-based cereal and you poured the milk from the gallon jug left sitting on the counter. Or a bagel or piece of toast. After reading some reviews, I was a little hesitant about lodging at this motel. However, my experience was good. Check in at the front counter was easy, the facility was clean and quiet. So, this review is for a last-minute stay that was, at this point, several months ago (mid October, 2017), because I felt weird posting a review this *wacky*, like it could have been a total one-off. But I decided to check back, and seeing the other recent reviews, I feel like there's a good chance it wasn't, so I'm going to post it. But do keep in mind that this was a few months ago, so giving them the benefit of the doubt, maybe it's gotten better since. But this is what happened a few months ago: They check us in. We get upstairs, go to close the door... the door doesn't close. Like, we close the door, then tap on it and it opens again, which means we realize anyone could just walk into our room whenever. So we go back downstairs and tell them that, and they move us to a different room. The second room we try, the door does shut all the way, but I immediately noticed it smelled a bit like paint (though that was probably from the construction, and I'm sure that construction is done now). We also noticed one of the lamps was permanently on, it didn't have any light switch anywhere, but whatever, it was late and we were tired, we'll take it, we said... until we went to use the bathroom, and the toilet handle literally fell off when we flushed. At that point, we said, yeah nope, went back and asked them to please fix the toilet or else move us again. They said someone would be there in 2 minutes to fix the toilet. About 15 minutes later, someone actually showed up, then said it would take a while to fix, and we asked ok, we really just want a room that's ready right now. He said there weren't any others (the place didn't look that full), but what was wrong with the first room? We reminded him of the door. He sent someone back up to check on the door, and showed us that it did lock, we just had to literally shove it with full force, which is super weird and doesn't reflect great on them, but we did finally have a working room, and I have to say, other than the door, that room was fine. It wasn't great - there was a bit of light pollution, as the blinds didn't close all the way and faced a street lamp, and the bed was a bit hard - but it'd be a solid 3, 3 1/2 star place, decent enough to crash for a night on the way to/from Zion, if it hadn't been for all the fun broken things we had to complain about beforehand. Again, though, that was a few months ago, so maybe(?) all those broken things were all from the construction, and everything is great across the board now? Probably not though. read more

1 star jus because I have to tap on it to post a review. BUT IN REALITY ITS ZERO STAR... upon check in everything went well at the front desk. Husband and wife working as a team.Get to room and there's a stink smell. Opened window and blasted the AC to try and air out the room.Checked for bed bugs and markings (I usually do) on beds and floors. Didn't find any but there was lil trash here and there in the floor. Clorox wiped remote,dresser top,phone, light switch and handles. Room was too dusty on lamp shades, back board and the table the phone sits on and i didn't clean it cause than the maid really wouldn't have nothing to clean. Actually it looks like it hasn't been cleaned for months-that's how thick of dust that was on it.took the old stink covering they had on the bed and put it on the old chair they have in the room. what irked me more was the bedding looked like it's been used and rolled on 10x. It wasn't even tucked right like the maid did her job. Lamp was broken off the wall and metal panel was broken off and sticking out on the bottom of the bathroom frame. Stubbed my big toe cut it open making it bleed continuously boy I was frickin pissed. Went to the front desk and asked the young chic for another room which she said I should've asked earlier. I asked for the maid to change the bedding and vacuum the room and she said they left I than asked to use the vacuum to do the maids job and vacuum the room myself and she said the maid room was locked which I know is BS. I than asked for clean sheets and took her to the room to show her and she knew that room was dirty. I also showed her the damaged items and she said she'll let the maid know-what does the maid know about maintenance she don't even know how to clean. I'm sure they know who I am and yea be careful there was a post that all kids stay on the 1st floor. I was on the 1st floor but my kid is 17 so I'm not sure why they didn't put us upstairs. Breakfast was ok but the make it yourself waffles didn't taste right. Close to freeway, SUU and eating places. read more

Ok I'm not a princess but this was acceptable. I booked this mainly because it had the Wyndham name so I thought there would be quality. The floor in this place is scary. We were on the second floor and there were squishy spots like the floor was rotted under the carpet and mock tile in the bathroom. I thought wow what if we fall through to the first floor? Door frames were peeling paint and rusty. There's obviously a million layer of paint hiding the maintenance that needs to be done. The wall between the top of the shower stall and ceiling was gross dirty brown. The creases of the shower walls were moldy. And last but not least the mattress was an uncomfortable lumpy mess. Just don't bother staying here is not just an older hotel, it's dirty and run down. read more

It's not easy finding hospitality for furry family members, but this place rocks! Rooms are modern, homey and clean. They even have a grassed-in fenced dog park with a place to sit, and a bin to drop the do-dos lol. It's a small area but clean- our dogs loved it! We went to this hotel for a get away for two nights. We made this reservation understanding that this was a pet friendly hotel. The manager was rude from the start and then told us that we were not able to leave our dog in the hotel room alone. We love our dog which is why we travel with her but let's face it she can not go everywhere with us. Needless to say our get away was cute short. read more

As far as the world of motels go, what can you expect? This place succeeded in giving my boyfriend and I a place to stay one night on the way through Cedar City, UT. Check-in was a breeze. They do have an elevator to get up and down their 3 floors. Most of the people in here looked as though they were in Utah for the same reason we were - camping, hiking, etc. The room was okay. Everything looked clean-ish, the TV worked, as did the electrical outlets. There was a freaky looking arm-chair in our room that looked out of place, but I guess it was just blending in with all the other random furniture. Best part was they do serve up a complimentary breakfast. They even had a waffle maker, apples, bagels, English muffins, and cereals. Pretty decent for a Super 8. read more

Everything about this place was very, very nice except for the air conditioner in our room, it was very loud. We had to turn it off because there was just no getting to sleep with it on. But then the room got so hot, we had to turn it back on in the middle of the night. Luckily, my mate can sleep through anything, and I was so tired I was able to sleep through it, too. Normally, I'm a light sleeper and that would have kept me up all night, so be aware that if you stay during hot summer months, check the sound level on the air conditioner if you need to use it. They have some sort of surveillance camera in the rooms. I was doing my nebulizer for my asthma. This produces a water vapor. The next morning, the woman at the front desk accused me of smoking. This has got to be the best Super 8 Motel ever! I spent one night here and was impressed by how clean the property is and how friendly the staff are. This is also the only Super 8 that I've ever seen that has an elevator, probably because there are 3 floors compared to 2 floors at other Super 8s. The night manager canceled our reservation from under us although our card had been charged for this non-refundable reservation months in advance with a late night check in request. When my husband, daughter, and I arrived at midnight after driving 9 hours, the manager and a younger woman were rude, condescending, and completely unhelpful. They blatantly lied to cover up the fact that they chose to overbook and cancel our room. The manager even had the nerve to point his finger at me while raising his voice because I told him I was disappointed in the situation and wanted him to at least try to help us find a room in town. Instead, he insisted on referring us to a about 1 hour back the way we just came from for some reason. When I contacted the nearby Abbey Hotel myself, the manager there kindly explained that they did not have vacancies and then referred us to a few places with rooms available in town. Thank goodness we are now at a motel down the road but it meant that my young daughter had to wait well over an hour and a half for a bed after midnight. I am definitely writing a formal complaint to Umiya, LLC, and the Super 8 Worldwide, INC. regarding these despicable business practices and complete lack of customer service and compassion. I could go on about this horrible experience at the Cedar City Super 8 but suffice it to say I do not recommend paying for a reservation at this disreputable establishment. read more

Really, I despise composing negative yelps. This truly is the worst Super 8 experience I've had. The refrigerator didn't work at all. There were no cups, glasses, or coffee accessories. There was, however, a coffee pot and coffee. Go figure. Drink your coffee black from the pot or not at all. There were prior guest head hairs in one of the beds, so we slept in the other which looked clean. I walked across the carpet and had something sticky get stuck to bottom of my sock. Ewww, really? Really? We had been driving all day and were just dog tired, so we slept and left for another day of cross country driving. I'm normally so happy with Super 8 hotels. If you are a veteran or traveling with a service dog I do not recommend staying here. Upon check-in I was grilled by staff and management about my medical condition and not what my dog is trained for. Mind you this is taking place in front of guests regardless of my requests to not speak in front of guests. Manager informed me that there were no service dog rooms available according to the ADA that's a lie. Manager also told me that if you have PTSD you should not be traveling. That point I began recording our interaction Documented with guests about what management had just said... Sad and pathetic, extremely insulting, it was only upon producing the camera and recording and confirming with guests the insult from the manager that a key was finally produced. Unfortunately Windham the owner of super 8 offered no reconciliation other than a meaningless apology. I expected a refund as no one should ever go through this experience ever. Again I caution any veteran and anyone traveling with a service dog about staying here as my experience was horrific. Couldn't pay me to stay with super 8 moving forward. Eventually this lack of customer satisfaction concern care and general humanity will lead people to travel through networks like Airbnb. read more

unfortunately to write a review I need to give this place a star. I'll start by saying that for as often as my friend and I are in the Cedar area, it's sad that we thought we found such a steal. I booked this room with a friend last minute for new years eve. we were to spend the evening at Brianhead Resort skiing, and almost stayed at the Ramada or Motel 6 across the street, but were drawn in to the option of a room with a jet-jacuzzi... perfect for winding down after snowboarding all day right? apparently wrong. we get back to the room just before midnight on new years. the Jacuzzi tub gets turned on, unbeknownst to us that it's not to be used at night (there was a sign with rules, but no designated times). around 11:45 we get a knock on the door for a noise complaint. okay. we didn't have loud music, tv loud, etc. we realized it must be the tub when not even three minutes later the manager knocks on the door again to say "I noticed you haven't stopped the noise, if you want me to call the police I will. and if I have to move the people's room under you I will charge you for the second room". okay? never had a worker act so rudely, nor have them threaten the cops and charging us extra three minutes after the first knock. so we turned off the bathtub and enjoyed the remainder of our new years being as quiet as possible to avoid an extra charge. that was until the next day I checked my account to see that I was overdrafted. after the second knock, my card was charged an additional fifty dollars without my authorization. when I called the hotel the first time to ask if it was a mistake or a fee that would go back in, the manager lied and said she couldn't look up my information because the computer was down and to call back at two. I called back at two and a new worker notified me that I was charged without notice because there were allegedly "multiple noise complaints, including talking loud, music and television.". all lies. we merely used the bathtub, placed next to the bed, for approximately ten minutes. after ten days I've finally gotten the unauthorized charge back, but if you want to avoid being screwed over by a clearly hurting business, stay across the street. the Jacuzzi in the room may cost you an additional room fee, and the lack of professionalism I witnessed during and after the experience is ridiculous. my friend and I were baffled at how poorly we were treated, but that's liveable. dealing with overdraft fees for an unauthorized charge over a sham complaint? livid. read more

It's a Super 8, but a really well run Super 8. The room was well-equipped and cared for. Really liked the staff, friendly and efficient. Definitely a cut above Motel 6, with a good breakfast area next to the lobby. Only downer was no pool -- would've felt good after a hot day hiking, but still a nice (and reasonable) place to stay. One of the best budget motels I stayed in during my swing through the Southwest. read more
