First time at Super 8, and it felt more like a Hampton Inn (room-wise). We were pleasantly surprised by how spacious and modern the Queen bedroom was. We arrived around 10 pm and were greeted by a friendly receptionist - Cindy. I forgot to ask for a quiet room but was given room 302, and it was tucked away in the corner, away from the other rooms. Everything was clean, and the bed felt comfortable. TV was of decent size with many channels. Free wifi was fast without issues. Lotion, shampoo, and conditioner were provided. There was a dedicated workspace and a microwave which we didn't use. My only minor complaint was the AC - we left it on Auto (to save the planet), but it didn't seem to be cooling down the room fast enough. I know others mentioned the train noises, but as a light sleeper, that didn't wake me up (the garbage truck at 4 am for the hotel next door did). Breakfast was meh..but I didn't even expect any complimentary breakfast, given the price paid for the room. Plenty of parking spaces (easy to navigate for a truck/trailer) at the hotel. read more

Cereal, toast, hard boiled eggs and yogurt. No pastries or hot foods. Not even fresh fruit. And, they couldn't even be bothered to provide fresh cream for the coffee. Just horrible powdered cream. Even the little cups of Coffee Mate that are shelf-stable would be an easy upgrade. And, there's no restaurant nearby or snack machines in this hotel. * The front desk is not constantly staffed. When we went to checkout, we had to wait quite a while for the agent to return to his post. If you're looking for a basic, clean place to stay - you could do worse. If you're looking for amenities like breakfast, pool, gym, spa, etc... - find somewhere else to stay. read more

Please do not stay here. The hotel is poorly run and noisey. You can hear others easily. We had a barking Dog nearby which kept barking until late. Breakfast is a joke, they run out of food and they leave the pans empty. Maid service is good but not prompt. Also no elevator, have fun carrying your luggage up to the third floor if you get a room on that floor. I highly not recommend this hotel. The neighborhood looks shadey as well. read more

The room had an interesting cowboy style about it and it makes sense after seeing more of the town. The bed was comfortable and everything functioned as needed for the most part. We ran into some issues with the shower temperature being very inconsistent and at extreme temperatures. They have breakfast but imagine continental continental (very small and scarce). I think they need to up their breakfast game just a little bit and still follow COVID protocol. Overall it was a decent place to get some quick rest after a long drive. "Dog friendly" also but expect a hefty extra fee. read more

At first glance, I was perfectly happy with Cheyenne's Super 8. The man that checked me in seemed friendly, and the room I was given appeared clean and had a western motif, which I thought was a nice touch. I had settled in for the night, and was all cozy and relaxed until I saw an unwelcome guest in the form of a roach crawling across the bed skirt of the opposite bed. Although I was chocking back vomit, I managed to snap some pictures of Mr. Cockroach before he scampered away. All that night, I worried that he'd make an encore appearance and crawl into my ear or something. I paid $100.11 including tax for this room. For $50 more, I could have stayed at the Marriott next door. Do yourself a favor and don't stay here, unless bugs are your thing. read more

Clean room. Friendly staff. Breakfast in the morning 6-9am there's juice, coffee, cereal, muffins and a waffle maker. Hallway smelled like smoke, but couldn't smell it in the room at all. More expensive than we expected but it was a great stay. Much better than the Motel 6 in Cheyenne. Very happy with our choice to stay at Super 8! read more

Too many homeless people living there, living on the premises full-time .... so we paid 120. bucks a night so we could share a homeless encampment .... that's a fact . Sound like a bad dream? We chose this hotel because of the price and because my husband had to have a hip surgery and it was convenient. The room was dirty the bed was very uncomfortable and the outside card readers didn't work all the time. The continental breakfast consisted of small containers of yogurt a few pieces of fruit and coffee. For $130 a night I'm not impressed. read more

They froze that shit so they wouldn't have to get more. I'm not expecting a 5 star hotel quality but it is literally illegal to serve expired products so why the fuck would super 8 do it. Whereas I enjoyed my stay at this Super 8 (friendly staff, clean rooms), I feel obligated to make visible what I consider to be a discriminatory practice that most people might not notice and, if they do, probably agree with. Allow me to go all Social Justice Warrior/"Karen"... So, as I was eating my complimentary breakfast in the lobby, I happened to notice a sign by the front desk that said Super 8 was no longer accepting locals as patrons except in cases of "emergency" or by "landlord request." Curious as I am, I asked the very nice young lady at the desk to clarify. To this, she answered that they had been having problems with drug use in the hotel and, to justify this, claimed that "most hotels" no longer accept locals either. Now, on first blush this sounds reasonable, right? No one wants to share a space with a bunch of loud, dangerous drug users, right? But giving it more thought, I come to realize that this practice assumes people passing through couldn't possibly be using drugs but the local population most certainly is. What other reason might a local have to get a hotel than an "emergency" with their home/apartment? Well, for starters, one might be fleeing an abusive relationship. One might have been kicked out of their home for coming out as queer/trans/or anything that might contradict their family's values and have nowhere else to go. One might be just wanting to get away from their home for whatever reason and, if they have the money to stay in a hotel for the night, why should they be questioned? Must locals have to justify why they might need a place to stay for the night? Must anyone? I wasn't. Maybe I'm overly skeptical but I believe the unspoken concern here is not with the local population but specifically the local homeless population. Certainly those people are all on drugs and don't have any other safe space in which to use them, right? Certainly those people were kicked out of their homes because of their drug use and not because of economic decline, out-of-control inflation or their own landlord's discriminatory practices, right? Now, I'm not that naïve, of course drugs are a problem in the homeless community or, rather, a symptom of a much greater problem which few people think to address other than demonizing and criminalizing the drug use that arises as a result. I do a lot of traveling, walking and talking to locals and the impact of drugs is glaringly obvious. It's incredibly dangerous to be dealing with addiction on the streets and most folks will end up in prison or OD'ing instead of getting the help and compassion they need and deserve. I'm not proposing Super 8 welcomes them with open arms - though wouldn't we be a better society if we prioritized the alleviation of others' suffering above our own creature comforts? - but, if the problem is with drug use, why not post a disclaimer that prohibits drug use on the hotel grounds and leave it at that? Why must you assume that, if they are local, they will undoubtedly do drugs in your rooms and, if so, they will hassle/upset/disturb the other guests? (But unlimited alcohol use is still permitted for some reason?) Why put this wedge between a business that is founded on, what I would hope, hospitality, affordability and community and the township where it resides? Seems very unwelcoming to me. read more

This is where I stay when making my annual trip to Iowa and back. This is halfway point. Ca. to here, here to Ia. Nice trip. I like this place and usually prefer Super 8 Motels over Motel 6. The Super 8's rooms are bigger, cleaner, beds are more comfy and some of them even have in room coffee. All you get from Motel 6 is the light left on, if you're lucky. read more

It's ok - there's other places to stay. But when you're going x-country and just need a place to stay for a few hours it's ok. When I went through in late May 2010 there was a lot of construction in that area and at night it can get confusing. Overall "B" rating - it's cool for 1 night. Lots of parking, safe, make sure your window faces the far side from the railway tracks otherwise you'll get no rest. We paid about $75/night. read more

To be honest, I'd give them a better rating. They were OK as a hotel. Due to the weather, I told the desk we would be staying another night as the I80 freeway was closed. The freeway opened up later on that morning and my boss called and told me I needed to get back on the road, so I called the desk to advise them my plans had changed and I would check out as quickly as possible. I was an hour and a half checking out, but the desk clerk charged me only for the first night. I thanked him for the courtesy. When I checked my credit card account I found I had been charged for both nights! When I called to see if this was a mistake, the clerk told me "the boss" had made a note to charge me for the second night. I consider that one of the more sleazy business practices I've seen and cannot recommend this hotel on that basis. read more

Everything in this place was wonderful, clean, quiet, pleasant staff - just make sure you check the alarm clock by the bed before going to sleep. We didn't check ours and it woke us all up at 5:40 a.m., 2 hours earlier than we wanted. Personally, I thought turning off the alarm was something hotel cleaning people do when they service a room and get it ready for incoming guests, I figured it was on their checklist of things to do when servicing a room. However, I was informed by my fellow travelers that cleaning staff don't use a checklist and it's not part of their duties to turn off the alarm clock. Well, I think it should be! I mean, first of all - what? No checklist? How hard is it to use a checklist to make sure you've serviced a room correctly? How else are you going to prove you did your job right? And then secondly, how hard is it to walk over to the alarm clock and move the switch from on to off? Well, I guess it's not their problem, it's ours. Live and learn. Room Tip: Check the alarm clock before you go to bed, or it may wake you up very early. read more

Typical Super 8 that hasn't renovated yet. My bathroom was okay. My bed sorta irritated me since it had hair on it and it wasn't mine. My door didnt open or close well. Check in was fast and pretty good as was checkout. The parking situation sucks but it was close to FE Warren AFB and the Frontier Days Rodeo grounds. Overall it was decent for the price. read more

Nice stop in Cheyenne. Rooms are spacious, and mattresses are good. Loads of parking and pets are welcome for $15 extra. Rates are good and better with AAA. Older motel but not falling apart. Our room was clean except for the bathroom floor. Seems it may have been looked past or quickly done, long hair left behind. Overall a 3 of 5 and a good stop with fair prices for a night. Was very quiet, even for a holiday weekend. Place was almost full but you didn't hear anything. Free breakfast is waffles and danish but fair if you eat that. read more

We found this Super 8 very good. Our room was very clean, and in excellent condition. The night manager (Adam) was very nice and very willing to assist with whatever we needed, including reprogramming the TV remote for us, as well as the morning maintenance man... very nice. We'll definitely stay here again, but we need to add that the young woman at the front desk (with the purple hair and ring in her nose) when we checked out the next morning, had a bit of attitude. I was so exhausted after 9.5 hours on the road and had been turned down by at least 5 motels because of the dog and cat. Found this place. What a relief. It is the nicest place, with friendly, helpful staff. There are a few stains on the carpets yes but the place is clean. The breakfast bar fresh with good choices. Thanks folks. read more
