I've stayed in a lot of crappy motels, and this isn't the worst, BUT it's absolutely the worst I've paid $150 per night for. Front desk staff was nice, but hard to understand as she was soft spoken with an accent. I asked for the top floor and she gave me the bottom. Vending machine only took 4 quarters at a time(spit out the rest), but items were $1.50 each, so I had to go to the front desk to get dollar bills. Room is standard, except the secondary lock was broken. Rando stains on the floor, walls, bed, etc. Tv volume didn't work, either on the remote or TV controls. Bed pillows were small and square. Bed was uncomfortable. We're booked for two nights, but we checked out a day early because it's not worth $150 to be miserable. read more

This place is disgusting smellls and they scam people out of their deposits. Tried telling me that I smoked in the room. First of all they have all kinds of grime falling from behind the sink mirrors. Floors are horrible and the walls were stained with years of smoke. I doubt the smoke detector even worked. The doors on the sides of the Motel do not lock like they are supposed to!!! Dont ever stay here and Kim and Kate should be fired atleast. read more

This hotel was horrible, I was visiting Pinebush with my elderly Father, and he booked this before I read reviews. OMGosh what a mistake, first the glass doors into the lobby was filthy, the lady at the front desk was very pleasant. The room smelled horrible, bad enough that my Dad had me go out to buy room spray. The beds were comfortable and had nice pillows and sheets. We stayed 2 nights and no one cleaned our room the next day. I had to go to the front desk to get more clean towels. The worst part of this place was the garbage cans and dirty linen carts we had to passed to get from our room to the lobby. They were there both days in the hallway. I have never been more happy to check out of a place. Ohhhh I forgot to mention the TV was maybe a 20 inch TV. I didn't realize they still sold them that small. This will be the last time my Dad picks the hotel. This is pictures of the hallway outside our doors. When I saw they were owned by Wyndham I figured how bad could it be!! This hotel was very dirty, we had to ask for a new room because the first room we were given was filthy. Then they moved us into a pet friendly room, and they hadn't even cleaned it since the last people because there was still a dog bone on the floor. We were traveling for work and my job keeps me out until the middle of the night. I returned back to the hotel after work and said hello to the desk clerk and went to my room to sleep. When I woke up and went downstairs to reserve another nights stay I was informed that because I came back to the hotel so late we were no longer welcome to stay. So they kicked us out with no warning. The day time clerk was very unfriendly and unwelcoming which is literally the opposite of what hospitality means. We ended up staying down the road at the Super 8 in Montgomery which was much nicer and more clean. read more

The room smelled like wet carpet, the shower faucet never worked, and the manager refused the breakfast beverage and food. The management said they would not acknowledge the issues since the room was booked on a third party. I am spending my time to make sure that no one else will suffer at this crappy motel. My 4 year old had a couple of accidents so I asked for cleans sheets which they said they didn't have and that I would have to wait until they washed the dirty ones. So we were told that our check out was two days prior the date set and PAID FOR by the third party called hotel wiz. They took my security deposit and we're paid for 5 nights even though we only stayed 3. They stole $400 of the last I had while the homeless stay there for free. They should be shut down. Easy quick check in. Thats the best part of staying here. No advertised breakfast, no room attention......period, our king bed was like sleeping on a slab of rock. I wouldn't stand in the shower because it looks so gross. To their credit the room smelled fresh but the bedspread had some funky kinda staleness to it. If light bothers you, stay away from room #114. Curtains let in too much light. As for noise, I sleep with earplugs so can't comment on that. you can hear the room above when someone is walking around up there though! pay a little extra and go somewhere else. read more

Ok hotel. Some shabby details in rooms that could be fixed, but overall pretty clean hotel. The problem is they advertise free breakfast, but what they actually give you- IF you ask- is a brown paper bag with a wrapped muffin and a sealed cup of apple juice. Only a few weeks ago they also gave us a yogurt, so they're even getting more penurious with its already closed-handed offerings. They used to offer a full breakfast in their standard Super 8 breakfast room but like so many hotels, they used Covid as an excuse to save money on this well-loved amenity. All this despite the fact that- as I have it on good authority- the owners received tons of pandemic money from the government and are currently making more money than ever. I will never stay here again. The first room we got first had gnats coming out of the sink drain. The second room smelled heavily of smoke so we immediately returned to the front desk to get another room. A man sleeping in his car slept right in front of our window for 2 days and when asked to move he just moved in front of someone else's window.I was never offered a refund or discount I was told I had to wait until the next day when a manager was in. The manager wasn't in until 2 days later. When I talked to her she told me all she can do is offer a 10-15% discount on my next stay. Which was insulting that is nothing and why would I want to stay somewhere like this again. I then left and returned to tell her I was not given an option to pay when I checked out, the front desk agent had us pay upon arrival. She then got very rude with me and she was the manager I asked why she was being rude and she insisted that she wasn't. I left to my car pissed off at this point. She then came outside and said she will refund me for 1 day if I pack up and leave now. I was on my way to my daughter doctor appointment and my boyfriend was at work and we had our car and uhaul so there was no way I was about to be able to leave on my own. We then asked if we could get the refund when ya boyfriend got back and she refused and told us no because housekeeping had left already. I cannot believe the way she acted as a manager. On top of that the tub had rust and mold and the room smelled musty. Our shower tiles were caving in and as shown in the photo a metal rod had also fallen. I am giving this Hotel 3 stars because they do accept pets. This is the place where you end up crashing if you don't make plans. Everything was just like a regular hotel. The only thing that did bothered me was the smell of cigarettes nicotine left over in the room. So I am gonna assume that the previous occupants smoked inside the room because that smell was permanent. Maybe management needs to check all the rooms after they are cleaned and keep the window cracked open for fresh air. read more

Stayed here with my boyfriend. It was the worst stay I've ever had at a hotel. I stayed up all night due to bed bugs biting me. We told the front desk then they switched our rooms. Then Guess what? Of course the new room also had bed bugs. In the morning I looked for the manager, her name was Amanda to demand a refund or SOMETHING. Of course she was nowhere to be found. I have stayed at Super 8s along the east coast and have been more than satisfied. This Super 8 was a disaster. When we checked in the clerked looked at me and said "This is a Super 8. It does not have any amenities." This could not have been more accurate. There were signs saying they were under renovation, but all I saw was a place that was left to deterioration. I should have left when we entered the room. There were a dozen or so gnats hanging out in the sink. I managed to kill most of them during the evening. My son wanted to wear his socks in the tub so his feet wouldn't actually touch the tub. Only 1 of the 3 lamps actually worked in the room leaving us virtually in the dark. There were stains on the bed spread - but the sheets were bright white. When I woke it the morning there were another half dozen gnats in the sink again. I was told there would be muffins and juice for breakfast since they've reduced the breakfast service - try cereal bars!!! This was a terrible experience. I'm nervous to ever go back to a Super 8 after this experience. read more

I recently stayed here for one night. As soon as I got to the location I waited for the front desk to greet me. She was very rude and did not offer to help with anything, extremely unpleasant. Then I noticed the entire building smelled of cigarette smoke, every hallway. There were people outside the building smoking, and I am sure inside too. I have asthma and could not breathe!!! This is supposed to be smoke free. To top it off, at 12:00 AM I had to leave the hotel because I found bed bugs crawling all over. Terrible place, pay extra money and stay somewhere else. read more

Scariest Night Of My Life Last Sunday my wife, 10 week old daughter, family dog, and myself took a trip upstate for a memorial service. We checked online to see which chain hotel accepted pets, and were referred to the Super 8. I figured that as a chain hotel I could expect a certain degree of quality and that it would be fine for one night. Boy was I wrong. This was the scariest night of my life, and the Middletown Super 8 is one of the scariest places in the US. Initially, I was a bit disturbed by the drugged out zombies roaming the halls, hallways which reeked of a musty smell that was almost as bad as the stench in my non-smoking room. I told myself it was for one night and it would be ok. After checking in at 7:00PM I left to go to the memorial service and noticed two police cars outside. I inquired and was told there had been a fight between two guests. Thinking this was an anomaly that could happen at any hotel I didn't really let it worry me. When I returned to the hotel at 10:30PM I opened the locked door to my room to find that someone had entered my room and removed my family dog. I can't possibly express enough what kind of sickening upsetting feeling of violation comes over you when something like this happens, I can only say I've never experienced it before and hope I never have to again. I ran to the front desk to ask the girl who checked me in if she could help. She told me that she knew about it, that my dog had 'got out of the room', room's which are 'real easy to get out of' according to her. I explained that even if my dog which had been with my family to dozens of hotels in the 10 years of her life had been able to escape the room, the carpeting is raised and the door wouldn't have closed on it's own. I don't think she would have escaped and been kind enough to lock the door on the way out. The front desk girl told me she was sorry but the dog definitely had let itself out, and that she had called the police which had taken my dog to the Humane Society. Are you kidding me... At this point I'm frantic, my wife is crying, 10 week old is screaming, and I demand to speak to the manager at once. She tells me that as it's approaching 11PM it's too late to call the manager and the best she can do for me is forward me to the general voicemail box. I left a desperate message which even now, days later, still hasn't been responded to. I demanded to know why if I checked in with a pet, and gave my cell phone number, I didn't receive a call to notify me that a pet was in the lobby and to ask if it was mine. She had no more responses and went into the back office. This is a small two floor hotel and there couldn't have been more then a handful of people who registered pets for the night. Why wouldn't they call the dog owners before calling the police? Why isn't a situation with police cars outside consoling a devastated couple and crying infant worthy of a call to the manager. I'll tell you why... When the officer arrived, he told me that this hotel is a notoriously infamous heroin and crack den where drugs & prostitution run rampant. He told me that aside from my problem with the dog, this hotel was no place for my family and we would be smart to leave at once. We checked out immediately, but couldn't leave the area because the Humane Society was closed and wouldn't be opening until the following day. We spent the night at the nearby Marriot Courtyard which was totally amazing and should have been our first choice. Sadly, we spent the night awake and totally freaking out calling every number and emailing everyone associated with the Humane Society to make sure that our dog wouldn't be shipped away somewhere or god forbid put to sleep. We were outside the Humane Society when they opened at 9, and were fortunately able to get back our seriously freaked out pet. This was such an upsetting experience that it took me a few days to even be able to write this without breaking down thinking about it. For the rest of my life, I will never be caught dead in a Super 8, or any other seedy motel like this. I hope by sharing this anyone who is on the fence about staying here will decide to spend the extra $50 and stay somewhere safe. I consider myself lucky that I got out of the Middletown Super 8 with my family and health intact. Should anyone from Super 8, especially the General Manager Lisa Wolgamuth who has time to compose boiler plate responses to the other valid complaints online but still hasn't returned my frantic message from three days ago attempt to discredit anything I've written, my response will be to request the police blotter records from the Middletown clerk under the Freedom Of Information Act and post the statistics of how many times the police have been called to this hell hole. read more

GROSS, really!!! The edges of the particle board furniture were broken off, the carpet was lumpy like they carpeted over the carpeting. The springs on the bed dug into your ribs, the bathroom gave me a bad feeling, I left without taking a shower. The rooms smelled because the air conditioner sent foul smelling air and the best part? I stayed at this motel last Sunday night. The rate for my room was supposed to be $90, and they charge a $75 temporary fee that is supposed to be refunded as soon as you check out and they check your room to make sure it's ok. I was charged the $75 fee three times, on top of the cost of the room. I have already spoke to the hotel five times over the last week. One of the fees was actually refunded, another disappeared, and a third has turned into an actual charge, that I now have to call yet again to get refunded and then to keep checking my bank statement to see if if it actually gets refunded. None of us have this much spare cash laying around in bank accounts, none of us have time to keep calling back the motel. The inconveniences this has caused are inexplicable and inexcusable and absolutely should not happen. I am extremely upset and flabbergasted that this sort of incompetence still occurs in place where everyone knows how to use a computer; and if it is malicious, then I don't know how many other people were charged extra money. read more
