Love this place because of the saline pool although it was cold. Did the pool towels just get smaller and thinner? Hmmm. Full size fridge and place-settings for 4, and i love that there is a dishwasher since the first thing i do is put all the glasses dishes and cutlery to wash! There is no conditioner in the shower- just shampoo and bodywash so be sure to ask if you didn't bring your own. Even the employees think that's strange. The breakfast is ok for a hotel- you can build your own breakfast sandwich or make a platter. They don't have real cream for the coffee but there is real milk in the fridge. Had a great two nights day the room was super clean and had two queen beds and a pullout sofa. There was also a kitchenette with the refrigerator microwave and coffee pot. Breakfast was served from 7 AM till 9 AM and was pretty decent. Had your basics including waffles. Just wish it went a little later I'm not a morning person. I did use the gym and it was super nice for a hotel. There was also an indoor pool, but we never got to use it. This is a perfect location near many restaurants and fast food. Walmart was about a mile away. The galleria mall was about a quarter mile from here. I would definitely stay here again. read more

The staff at Middletown Home 2 Home Suites Excellent. From when we checked in after 6pm, to the staff in the breakfast. The room was nice except there is no way the bed we slept in one was queen bed. Maybe a queen being an imposter of a full size bed. The kitchen had we needed to stay more than one night was very nice. Free breakfast was included but I sure miss the pre-Covid days when You got a nice hot thing of scrambled eggs with bacon or sausage. I tried the omelette it works if your hungry. The Belgian waffle I made in the waffle iron was yummy. In addition to omelette's there was cereal, bagels, packaged muffins, yogurt, oatmeal, juices, milk, coffee and tea. We did not have a chance to use the amenities. But I saw a nice looking gym, a cute play area for kids. There was a pool but I ddi not see it in my quick glance. By far my favorite of the Hilton chain. I loved the large fridge and sink amenities. The bathroom was nice and clean as well. Kitchenette comes fully stocked with plates and cups, utensils galore. Was so roomy for a hotel room. Reminded me of a studio apartment. Exercise room was fully equipped. I realize after my many stays with Hilton they are peloton bike lovers. almost every location i've stayed at has one. They have a game room which is pretty neat. I didn't get a chance to try it out, but I like that there's a space dedicated to games! Would definitely stay here again. Negatives: - breakfast wasn't that great. Constantly offered the same food. an omelet like thing that tasted bland, waffle maker, limited cereal. only really gravitated towards the muffins - pool was in the basement which was a bit sketchy to me. I loved the salt water pool though and it's heated! But really just sketched me out about how remote it is from the main lobby. - making a left out of the hotel entrance is very dicey and inconvenient. always go to the light and make a u-turn read more

I booked the conference room for a party. I have to say the place was clean, the staff was so sweet and the party was amazing. The staff went out there way to make sure the party stood a surprise and even helped us "trick" the birthday girl lol. We booked 6 rooms prior to the party and the guest loved them. No complaints everyone enjoyed their stay and was glad to have a place to relax after the festivities! You guys rocked. read more

This was our first experience with Hilton's Home2 Suites brand, and we were very impressed. Esthetically, the place is gorgeous! The lobby is immense and there are all kinds of seating nooks and little sections everywhere. The basic room rate was $169, and taxes brought that number up to $191 for our large suite. Seriously, I could retire into that space- there was plenty of room. The living room area is big with a work station and a roll out table to plop in front of the couch for eating while TV watching. There is a dining room, a kitchen, a big bedroom, and a very roomy bathroom. The AC, bathroom shower, and WIFI all worked great. The bathroom had an unusual feature. Instead of the traditional small bottles of shampoo and conditioner, there were dispensers on the shower walls, similar to the soap dispensers you see in some restaurant bathrooms. I was there for a wedding, and we used their big conference room downstairs for the after-party and a group breakfast. The room was perfect, and we used their AV system to play some tunes off of someone's iPhone. Nice location, right on the main drag in Middletown and super convenient to the NYS Thruway. The hotel is less than 2 years old, and is in absolute gorgeous condition. You can't go wrong here. read more

I tend to stay away from Home2 because I get 1/2 the points with Hilton. The Hampton Inn in town is going under a major renovation and their "gym" was out of commission so I stayed here. The place is CLEAN and smells like a new car. I was greeted by a friendly woman at the front desk and she mentioned she had suggestions for dinner if I needed them. I was meeting clients to watch MNF so they weren't needed. I did appreciate the offer. They have a typical gym in an express type hotel. The room was spacious and had everything I needed. I would stay at this brand again, but I'm a Hilton point addict, so I'll stay at the usual brands. If you want to stay for a decent price and don't collect points stay here. I did enjoy my stay. read more

Very nice people. Rooms were clean and neat. Saline pool was a plus. My family of five were able to enjoy it by ourselves. The free breakfast was nice. A bit embarrassed of how much my family took advantage of that, with the fresh made waffles and all. It's close to Legoland and made it so much better and easier to crash here, than to have to drive all the way back to New York City, tired and exhausted. read more

Pros: very, very well equipped rooms. I had a "suite" which actually had a curtain divider, although not a separate wall per se, separating the bed from the little living room area, and a really spiffy kitchenette which I did not need, that only lacked a cook top (apparently portable ones available by request). WiFi adequate, everything clean and new. Good room prep/cleaning. Cons: again, with the early morning cleaning right outside my room, including loud conversations between the staff. And for new construction, the building carried a lot of noise; slamming doors, voices in the halls, even footsteps in adjacent rooms. My first prerequisite for a good review is, did I get a good night's sleep? This particular problem shaved a star off by itself. Also, the breakfast bar was inadequate -- there's not enough space for the diners to get their food, too much seating is in communal high tops or scattered through the lobby (no, I really don't want to hang out with other travelers early in the morning) and on my visit a number of the food areas were almost empty. And the baked goods I did get were stale. With other choices, this is something that might send me elsewhere. Some of the other amenities were not actually there - the 'game room' was being used as a conference room, and the exercise room was locked. I like the new brand, I like the room layout (except for the noise part), so will consider again at some point. But the execution on common space needs a lot of work. read more

Excellent experience at Home 2 Suites. Lots of extra attention to cleaning and disinfecting everything. The doors where sealed after cleaning, extra disinfecting wipes left in the room. The TV remotes were disinfected and placed in sealed bags. Love the 2 queen suite with a pull out sofa. Perfect for our family of 4 with 2 teens. So many option to move around the furniture to fit your needs. 3 locations to use as a desk, an actual desk chair that is functional and comfortable if you need to work from the room for any length of time and a moveable dining table that slides out of the way underneath the desk when not in use. Plenty of storage for 4 suitcases, plus additional storage for groceries. We appreciated having the kitchenette with large refrigerator, full size dishwasher, microwave and cooking utensils. Just ask the front desk for a cook top and pots and pans for no extra charge. Also the lobby was beautiful and welcoming, the exterior had 2 gas grills, a Firepit and plenty of seating. We will be looking to stay at more Home 2 Suites in the future. read more

We stayed at the Home2 Suites (Hilton) Middletown for a trip to Legoland in nearby Goshen. I'd stay here again! 15 min to Legoland. Well priced studio with kitchenette, 2 queens and a sofa bed, breakfast included. Small, Lego themed welcome gift for the kids. Indoor pool left much to be desired. I let my 6yo swim in it day 1 for maybe 10 min. It was SO cloudy. Additionally, the tile (with a smooth finish ) around the pool is super slippery- so watch out. Next day, we tried again and I couldn't even see the bottom of the pool so I didn't let him swim. I told the front desk. Hopefully they'll shock it and manage it- families are looking for that amenity. Otherwise, the hotel was all good. read more

Hotel is clean. Rooms are well cleaned and the layout with the little kitchen is perfect for family trips. They have a game room and gym, as well as the pool. Here's a few things that people should know aren't great but don't ruin the hotel overall. The pool is small and freezing cold. The breakfast is absolutely not worth it. Came for legoland with family this time around The staff was annoyed by our arrival. I had a issue with my card with my hilton honors Didn't even try to help Ive had similar situations and was never meant to feel like a bother . No eye contact, sighs, The staff was the most unfriendly and unhelpful Ive run across in years !! Pool was ice cold for a indoor pool Not enough food for the amount of people The layout of the breakfast made no sense very small which creates a mob If u are concerned with social distancing I would def skip breakfast I was sitting down and there were people pressed up against me waiting for food A lot of space in lobby maybe extend it this way, people can go to the section they need and not create a mob of people & really long line that runs throughout the lobby. The coffee that they have available in the lobby 24 hours Breakfast was only from 7-9am, during breakfast when you'd think they'd serve fresh milk or cream--they don't. It's just the nasty little creamers that don't need refrigeration that were out all all day and night Hotel is still pretty much new, so it's clean and not run down looking. read more

This is a very new and very modern hotel. We stayed for 2 nights. Pros- It was very spacious. My husband and I were traveling with 2 teenage sons and it was very nice to spread out. We had way more space than we actually needed. My 14-year old was so happy when he realized there was a pull-out couch and he could sleep apart from his brother. There were electronic black-out shades, which was great. Also, there was a curtain you could pull out that separated the TV/couch area from the beds. Because it's made for extended stays, there was a decent fridge/freezer, a dishwasher, and microwave. No stove or anything but there was a note about how you could request some kind of skillet or something for cooking. Also, there were dishes. At all times, there is coffee and hot water to make tea in the lobby. Also they carry an assortment of drinks and snacks you can purchase by the check-in counter. The workers were friendly. The lobby was beautiful and outside was a pretty fire feature that looked nice in the cold snowy weather. Cons- One of the draws for us apart from the spaciousness was the indoor pool. However, when we checked it out even though it was "heated" it was way too cold. And there was no hot tub so we were disappointed with that. The breakfast area was broad, but don't expect cooked eggs or sausage or anything like that. There were breakfast sandwiches that you could heat in the microwave (no thanks), cereals, boiled eggs, the waffles you cook yourself, muffins, bagels and such and fruit and yogurt. Mostly bread-type items Even though this place is very new, there were some issues. In our bathroom, there was at least one large floor tile that was completely loose. I wondered if there had been a leak or something. At one point, I went to take a shower like I had done the day before and could not get the shower to come on and could not figure out why. There is a shower head but there is also a removable shower wand you could use if you are taking a bath or have to sit to shower. Apparently, when my son had taken a bath, he had switched things up and I could not figure out how to get the water to come out of the shower head again. My husband came in to help and he got it right but not before water from the removable head came out and sprayed half of the bathroom! They need some instructions on that. The other big con is it's not up to standard in cleanliness. If they want to keep this hotel in the new condition they need to improve in this area. In our room, the first thing I noticed was the dishwasher which was horribly smeared all over. Also, the carpet by the desk area of our room didn't appear to be vacuumed as there were crumbs. The light gray desk chair had a nasty drip stain on it that made no one want to sit in it. The halls didn't appear to be vacuumed. There was a table by the elevator and it needed cleaned. I tried not to look too hard because I can't help noticing all the dirt and it bothers me. A hotel has to get this right or it will go downhill in a hurry!!! Overall, I probably would choose somewhere else next time because of it not being up to my standards of cleanliness. It's hard to overlook that part. read more

All of the Home2 Suites beds are hard like a rock. 1st night no problem but 2nd night my back, my kids backs and the wife's backs are so not happy... but the good thing is that customer service was great as well as the cleanliness of our rooms but I recommend you come in with some Lysol and Clorox wipes etc... just for your safety. Came to visit fam in Middletown, NY. This was how, after a long & tiring day of sight-seeing, I returned to my room! (See pix) We were overlooked! Unacceptable. No fresh linens, nothing!! What makes it worse is front desk Carissa has a bad attitude. I don't pay to have to make beds or deal with nasty clerks! Most unprofessional stay at any Hilton! The sheets were wrinkly & used looking upon arrival. Yuck! We were exhausted & should not have had to come back to a messy room. YES, I am an Honors member. But it proved to be useless with the horrible customer service from Carissa, and the fact that housekeeping cleans whatever they feel like! Let's talk about free breakfast--it's free so don't expect all the bells and whistles. It's not good, not tasty but maybe satisfactory. If you don't eat to enjoy your food, but rather just for the sake of eating--to be able to say "I ate breakfast," then by all means dig in. If you care about flavor, just go off site to dine. Also, in other Home2's I've stayed at the layout of the food made sense. Why on Earth would the waffle section be right at the beginning of the line where it creates a mob of people and many don't even want waffles? There should be a "waffle section" but this should be at the end of the line. There should also be a "bagel section," this way, people can go to the section they need and not create a mob of people & really long line that runs throughout the lobby. The coffee that they have available in the lobby 24 hours is lukewarm and nasty. I asked for extra pods and made it up in my room, so it could be hot. Beware even from 6-10 am, during breakfast when you'd think they'd serve fresh milk or cream--they don't. It's just the nasty little creamers that don't need refrigeration. So if you like a good cup of coffee, go off-site to Dunkin Donuts. Hotel is still pretty much new, so it's clean and not run down looking. Mattresses are too soft for me, but the room layout is perfect. 2 queen beds and a pull-out. Perfect for a family. Speaking of family, if you like quiet, this is a place that caters to families, esp those with loud, running around, screaming toddlers. So keep that in mind. I went to visit the pool--it's small and was overcrowded-I'll pass. Overall, this could have been a 3 star review, but the fact that I left my room Sunday at 11:50 am and did not come back to a clean room is unacceptable! I understand if I laid in bed all day til 5 pm then I get it. But at 11:50 housekeepers were still there. Then Ms Rude Carissa says, "well they check once and if they see the do not disturb sign, they don't come back." Again, my sign was taken off when I left at 11:50 so that's unacceptable.... & what kind of place only checks once? I can't believe everyone is up & out at 8-9 am in order to have their rooms cleaned, so I call BS! Housekeeping do better! Iron sheets and do your job! Carissa--you can just throw the whole Carissa away. Unprofessional and clearly doesn't like working with people! Well guess what? You are in a SERVICE POSITION dumb-dumb! Get rid of her and hire staff that actually like their job! Bottom line if you just need a place to sleep, have kids/teens and need just basics, then this is the place for you. Need a good, hot shower, then this place delivers. Water pressure is great. If you are like me and want a bit more of a "vacation" and relaxed feel, this ain't it. An interesting experience. Room was big and comfy but carpet had a couple huge stains. Man in front of me at desk was having a problem in that he was charge 1500 on incidentals? Beds were comfortable enough. On weekends though they apparently don't clean the rooms at all? Our bathroom was full of wet towels, and we returned at 5 to unmade beds. Not exactly sure what light housekeeping means. Breakfast was "ok". But the egg sandwiches and dishes you could microwave were a bit off putting. I stuck with making my own waffle. Even then all the batter was already dispensed and sitting on the counter in cups? Ew.... read more

We called this hotel from out of state and told the clerk we needed to make a reservation for our son. She said no problem and made the reservation. Our 19 year old son drove over 4 hours and arrived at this hotel at 10:30PM. They refused to give him a room. We called the hotel to find out why and we were told he couldn't check in because he wasn't 21. Kate was very unhelpful, said she cancelled the reservation, and hung the phone up on us. She had no interest in making things right. So our son was alone and stranded in New York at 10:30PM with nowhere to stay. To bad the clerk didn't do her job. I just got hollow apologies from the corporate, who said the reservation had not been cancelled. They should train their employees. Shame on Hilton. read more

We make an annual trip to this area to go apple picking but this is the first time we decided to come up the night before and stay in a hotel. Home 2 Suites was perfect for our needs. It's bright and clean. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. They give you a ton of linens in the (spacious) room to start. They offer a breakfast but no other meals, however, they're located near so many restaurants (an Italian restaurant within walking distance, Cossimo's) along with others within a five minute drive. The kids enjoyed reading in the game room, and swimming in the saline pool. We're definitely planning on adding this stay to our annual fall trip here. Perfect break from the craziness of the city. Stayed with my boyfriend for the holiday weekend. We loved it. Very clean and updated furniture and appliances. We opted for a queen room instead of a suite but even the basic room had an almost full-sized refrigerator, full-sized microwave and dishwasher and silverware, plates, bowls and cups. There was a small hiccup with house keeping forgetting our room but staff was up in our room within minutes of us calling the front desk. Very polite, professional and accommodating front desk staff - we checked in early and checked out late with no additional charges or fees. Large selection of complimentary breakfast food and coffee. Plenty of free, on-site parking. Prices are fair and reasonable. We will definitely stay here again if we are ever back in the area. read more

I left a makeup bag in my room and didn't realize until a little later in the day so I called and they said I would have to wait until the next day because the housekeeping was not there but she would be the next day. I called the next day and they said that housekeeping was not there again and I would have to wait until the next day though they did check the lost and found and, of course, nothing was there. I remember leaving it on a nightstand in the room I stayed in and I called a few times to see if the person who took my bag would own up to what they did, but by the end of the situation I didn't get my bag back and they started to get defensive and rude on the phone when I remember clear as day that I left it there. They were annoyed that I called wanting my stuff back. This situation happened within two days and they told me they were done checking so if you leave something and want it back you are not going to get it. If they were in my shoes, they would asked every single person there if they had my bag but they rather tell me that no one would take anything from the rooms when clearly someone did! Figure I should share this information. Have a fun trip! read more

We're big fans of Home2 Suites in general and stay at Home2 Suites whenever possible when we are on the road, but we were disappointed by our stay at the Home2 in Middletown, NY. First, the good stuff: The beds are clean and comfortable and there are ample outlets and USB ports for charging devices. The heating/cooling units work well and quietly. The fridge was large and clean. The staff was friendly and welcoming and helpful. The problems: Like all HOME2 Suites, this one has sink disposal units in the kitchen areas of the rooms and suites. However, some guests and even the cleaners evidently don't know how to use them and clean them out. Ours had food left in it and the smell was very bad. It's an easy fix: housekeeping needs to run the sink disposal units and clean them along when they clean the rest of the room. The water in the swimming pool was icy. We couldn't use the pool at all. Even after complaining to the front desk about it, we were unable to swim because of the cold water. Again, this is an easy fix. This hotel is new and so there might be some "growing pains"; among them, the digital key is still in the testing phase. Ours never worked. It wasn't a big problem because we were able to get key cards, and we really didn't need the digital key, but this problem was frustrating. read more

By far, this Hotel is the worst ever. I needed to stay here for 2 nights during the Covid Pandemic. I am someone who is considered "at risk" due to health issues. I called ahead to make sure that employees & guests were required to wear masks in the common area, and was assured that yes. It is Hilton's policy. Everything seemed ok, but all that changed when the night shift came. I had requested a room by the exit door anyway, so I didn't have to walk through the lobby. As it turns out my key didn't work once I was outside the door, so I walked around and through the lobby dodging about 12 people with no masks. Half of these people were employees! I asked why no one was wearing masks & the front desk manager started screaming at me saying masks were optional. It's a state mandate mind you. She was insane. I told her I didn't feel safe & I couldn't stay there. She said she couldn't check me out until 2am (it was 8pm) & continued to scream at me. At that point I just went back to my room & left. I've had to call Hilton Corporate twice to finally get my money back. On my way out, I spotted a cockroach. Horrible, Horrible Place. read more
