Full disclosure: i've visited this store (only once) because I was already familiar with the hair lady that recently came from another location. The store is clean, spacious, and brightly lit..and upon my only visit, no one was rude towards me..but I did make an immediate bee-line to my lady's counter in the back. Her new selection at this store is fantastic. Parking is free and easy..so that's a definite plus. my only complaint is that as my 'hair lady' was ringing me up, the other cashiers were extremely nosey, and a little too invested in what i was purchasing..so that was very annoying. otherwise , i highly recommend..tell Ms. Eileen that I sent you :) read more

Just left the store. I walked in and wasn't even acknowledged. Walked around the store without a single employee saying a word. Picked up my 6 needed items and walked to the register to wait for 4 minutes. 3 employees who were just standing around were in the store but I had to wait to be rung up. I asked for assistance and one guy just points at the registers. He begrudgingly rang me up and told me my total. I gave him my money and he flings the receipt at me while shoving the bag my direction. He didn't even thank me or wish me a good day. I will never patronized this establishment again. I live in this area and like to shop in my area but will happily take my money to another store who is capable of giving basic customer service to guests of their store. read more

So ive been coming here for the past 3 years , never had an issue until today . Soon as i walked in the store no acknowledgment. She was on her phone behind the counter . I was shopping for about 8 minutes . I came to the counter because i was ready to check out . Im standing there for 3 minutes while shes on her phone. I had to say im ready to check out just for her to say something to me . She tells me to wait, hold on . I put my stuff on the counter and waited 2 more minutes for her to check me out . Once she was finished on her phone she started ringing me up. I told her as she was ringing me up im a licensed cosmetologist and im a member, she had me put my number in and said your number wasnt found and i was confused becausw the young black female that wears the hat she put me in the system . I expressed that and i told her can i enter my number once more and she pressed it and had an attitude and said it says not found . I asked was there a new system she said yeah its a new system and im like okay can i sign up i come here often as im looking for my license on my phone. I showed her my license she started scrolling on my phone in confusion so i said let me see to enlarge it ... she was questioning were was my name and my id ... ??? Why do you need that my license has my picture on it !? So im upset because now im feeling played with and disrespected. She started rushing me to pay . This one experience Ruined me being a patron here . It felt like racism to me . Ill be back at the store tomorrow because she needs to not be a manager if shes going to be discriminating people and being unprofessional towards the public . THIS IS NOT OKAY ! I just left this store . I thought I would give it a second chance . The time I was in here before there was some type of argument with the customers. I came in and asked if any one was there to help in the wig section. I was told somebody was there. I said it is not and there are several people waiting. I then was helped and told that you could try the wig on for health reasons. I asked along with others waiting what health issues"Covid" ? No answer just do you want it or not. I said Don't be rude we all were asking the same question before you came out. Can you return it since you can't try it on?She said no it's our policy . I said ok can't I take a picture of the brand name. She said no pictures and pointed to a sign that had an image of no picture on it. I said well can I write down the name. She called for the manager and started yelling and put the wig behind the counter and turned it around like a child so I couldn't see it.I asked for the policy where it says you can't write down the name brand. The manager just repeated the No try on policy and no return policy. I said I understood that " where is the policy saying I can't write the name brand down" The owner started yelling never answering the question saying he was unhappy . (Oh now your a victim , I see. ) I explained that this was the second time that I was in here and they had arguments with customers. I explained that I would write a review and here we are. I hope that everyone sees this . Just because you hire African American workers for the cash register you still need to know how to interact with people from the population that you serve. Hi pulled into the parking lot and started walking to the door at exactly 820 and someone was closing the door so I called someone answer the phone and I'm sitting on the phone. I normally don't shop in Asian owned beauty supply stores and this store reminded me why. Against my own judgement I went to get some hair color and mousse for my hair. Went to the register to pay and the boy at the register didn't say one word to me. I said to him you can say Gm. He still never said a thing. He just continued to ring up my items. I walked out. I will never ever again go into one of these Asian owned stores. They don't like black people but open up businesses to cater to use because we won't control our dollars. This place needs to be boycotted and shut down. They don't need to be in this community. This store has a lot of stuff. The hair is slightly overpriced but not too bad. It is so sad that they have the worst attitude and customer service that I have ever experienced. They lack the expertise to assist anyone in finding products and the wig lady is nasty. They were rude, uncaring and very disrespectful of the customers, with the exception of one cashier and a male in the back. I won't return. I had a similar experience just like others that have posted reviews for this beauty store, I frequent the MD, DC, VA area often and was recently in this store, the cashier. an asian guy, was rude and non-communicative throughout the transaction, when I asked to speak with management, he gave me a contact name and number who was not an actual manager, I approached another employee in the store and was actually re-directed to management that was there on that particular day regarding his behavior. The manager apologized for the incident and stated that his behavior would be addressed but apparently based on the many negative reviews this has happened many times before and was never addressed and probably wont be. I will not be giving any more of my money to this establishment. read more

I usually go to this beauty supply store when I am in a rush or I need something quickly. When this beauty supply store first arrived in the area I was actually excited because I saw some brown and Black people working there who were friendly and helpful. Assuming now that they are under new management the store is managed differently and poorly. I asked an Asian gentleman and maybe I shouldn't call him a gentleman about a particular product. He was on his computer drinking coffee and appeared to be completing inventory. Instead of answering me or getting someone else who knew or could help he looked at me and shouted "What!" He then shooed me away with his hand in the air. As if I were a bird in the park bothering him as he was eating his lunch. I felt very disrespected. Everything I had in my hand I honestly wanted to throw on a random shelf and walk out because of the level of disrespect I felt. But, remember I only come to this beauty supply store when I am in a rush so all of the items I had in my hand I needed in that moment. I purchased my items but made note to never ever return back to such a tacky, unprofessional, unorganized, and filthy (boxes and junk at the ends of every aisle) beauty supply store again. A suggestion for the business owners of this beauty supply store, you may want to become more culturally competent or even learning the English language so that you can properly communicate with your consumers. I wasn't just one of your customers or young people who steal from your store. I'm actually someone who would usually spend over $100 at a time again in a rush. I visited this store for the first time last night. It is very nice and huge. It appears to have everything you could need...hair pieces, make up, skin care products, polish, eyelashes, dryers, jewelry, etc. That is only what I did see. There is plenty more in inventory. I received 20% off as well. As a Bowie resident, I plan to go back and support this store. It puts the other ones in the area to shame. Hope you will visit too. read more

I love shopping here! They have everything in stock that I need, and they carry rare items that I can't find in most other beauty supply stores. The staff is friendly. (Note: Everyone I've seen working there is of African descent, and the person who I believe is the owner is of African descent as well. They are very respectful and helpful towards their customers). I have natural hair and they are one of the few beauty supply stores where you can find softened 100% natural shea butter, every other kind of butter you've ever heard of including rose butter, and every kind of hair oil you can imagine. I went to the store to buy packs of hair I walked out of the store for two seconds and realized I had bought too many packs of hair and so I went back inside and the guy gave me a store credit which I was fine with, then I come back two weeks later to use the store credit, and I will admit that the receipt was faded slightly, but you could see it and the management refused to take my number accused me of stealing from the store followed me around the store and profiled me because of my skin color DO NOT SHOP HERE!! read more

I normally don't like going into beauty supply stores only because they never seem to have what I'm looking for. But this one was very organized, things were easy to find and prices were very affordable. They are currently having a sale of 20% off until the end of January which made things even more great. I got 15 packs of braiding hair for less than $50 which i would normally get for $150 at another store. They have such a wide variety and their staff is very helpful and polite. Yes, the store is clean and organized, but they care absolutely nothing about their customers; its all about the money. They are known for price gouging -- And they don't honor returns... The worst establishment in Bowie, Maryland. These people are nice just as long as you don't make any returns. If you decide to return an item; beware of the rude and disrespectful behavior. If I could give this place a zero I would. They follow you around the store. When I ask why he was following me around the store, I was told I could shop some where else and that's what I did.
