I understand it's a miniscule amount, but when it happens with almost every order it's a real problem, taking away 3-5 dollars with almost every order and we've gone a lot over these years just never said anything because it was never truly a problem until tonight. With excellent service provided by Christian and Jamil, I couldn't have asked for more generous portions and sauces, which is so important with meals like this. Have been a customer for 25+ years, through what seems to have been a series of ownership and management teams. Throughout, the chicken was the same: superior in cooking and in flavoring. Best anywhere, hands down. Lately, however, there seems to be a less-liberal use of the characteristic Peruvian spices. Where once and for a long time, the flesh beneath the skin had been heavily dappled with spices, the application nowadays seems "light." Result: a less flavorful bird. Que lastima! read more

Very tasty chicken, probably the best in the area, that's my opinion! Their prices are high! But good food for sure! It's located in a corner and during the day it's hard to find a spot to park your car! Also since it's located on the city of falls church taxes are 10% !! . 6% for the state of Va & 4% for meals taxes that benefit the City of Falls Church! They aren't stingy with their sides either. The ambiance of the place is simple. Not extravagant or anything. First time here and was almost driven away by the long line in to the restaurant. The wait was for the chicken as it was still roasting. We ordered the family meal whole chicken which came with several sides. The chicken was plump and made perfectly with the right spices. Sides were plentiful. I love going to the Tyson's superchicken. So today as I was going home from work, decided to try the falls church super chicken, boy did I make a mistake. The place is way smaller, empty on a Friday evening and the sides all look old, I told him to replace the salad as it was swimming in a cup of water and looking wilted, don't think I'll be coming back to this location. We made the mistake of ordering from here off Uber Eats. While I understand that delivery food will not be freshest and you risk not getting what you ordered, we were severely disappointed. You see, we live near the Tyson Corner Super Chicken and thought the order was from there. The Pollo Saltado was terrible and had zero flavor. I had this same dish from the Tyson Corner store and it is night and day different. We also had the half chicken that was probably the most dry chicken we have ever eaten. Next time we will double check on the location and not make this mistake again. Do yourself a huge favor and just go to the Tyson Corner Super chicken; they're chicken is actually eatable. read more

FINALLY! FINALLY! A Peruvian joint that can marinade a chicken and coal-grill it without burning it to hell. I can't believe it. I thought I was doomed for life to dry chicken in order to enjoy the savory flavors of the grill. I've been to countless in Miami, many all up the east Coast and HERE in Falls Church VA I found it. Super Chicken is pretty good. My old landlord was peruvian, and when we told him we went to Pollo Rico, and Crisp and Juicy, they gasped. They said the best in the area is Super Chicken.. So I head down to Super Chicken... I'm thinking what a dump. it's next to a laundromat, in a run down strip mall across from Coleman's power sports. I walk in there, and the place is pretty small. It smells great, and they look like they are always cooking chicken. Compared to some other joints I've been to, this place really has a higher volume. The chicken was excellent. It's flavorful, and the skin actually was crispy. The choice of sides were fried rice, tortillas, plaintains, yuca, or french fries. Each order of chicken comes with 2 sides. The yuca and plantains cost extra, but its worth it. I dont know why everyone likes el pollo rico, but the yuca seals the deal here for me. A few years ago, I think it was owned by an indian guy. now it looks like its owned by actual latinos, so ironically the place looks cleaner, and they actually turn on the AC when its hot. read more

I actually love this food! And only the food, whelp beside the young guys making the chicken. The old guy at the counter customer service is horrific! He is always in a bad mood. I ordered online this time and added extra sauce, which I was charged 0.35 cent. Got my order, no extra sauces. I called in and he answered the phone. I explained what happened and he tried to put it on the DD driver. I asked why would he keep it he didn't order the chicken. I asked for a refund and so what its .35 cents, they charged it, I either get what I paid for or refund it. He was so upset with me about it. He finally decided to refund my coins. Other days when I go in I really be hoping he is not there. Another customer was saying the same thing about him one day he was not there. read more

This was my second visit to Super Chicken, and I must say that they are consistently on mark. Freshness is the key in the ultra competitive roasted chicken niche in NOVA. It's not at all like Boston Market or some other big box place where the chickens may rotate on the rotisserie or sit in a heating case drying for some time before being devoured by some hungry roasted chicken devotee. We actually had to wait about 10 minutes at 7pm for the chicken to be ready. Not surprisingly, because there was a line waiting along with us and most of them would take their chicken home with them. With such an active takeout business, I imagine they have trouble keeping chicken in their heating case for more than 15 minutes before its sale, so you're assured a fresh piece every time. They are also on mark with the spices, juiciness, skin crispiness, and serving size. Good gracious was there a lot of food when you order a platter with sides.Their use of an over sized ice cream scoop to move a mountain of food from their trough onto your expectant plate is totally prison style and I like it! Parking is a hot mess. There is maybe space for 8 or so cars, but the lines were long ago faded, and people park in all directions. It's no wonder that some of the parked cars have pushed in doors. Definitely visit Super Chicken, but you might want to park next to Elevation Burger just down the sidewalk. read more

Great chicken, decent sides, and deplorable 'service.' We each had their quarter chicken with two sides, with an extra $1.00 for plantains. - Quarter chicken: they asked us "white or dark," I wasn't sure what they meant and asked but no answer, so had "white." Whatever it was, was delicious! The spices must be rubbed on the skin before roasting because I could see them while I was cutting away laboriously with my plastic knife and fork. Heaps better than Pollo Tropical. - Plaintains: nicely cooked, big pieces, no complaint. - Rice: heaped onto the plate. It is what it is. - Hot chips: we saw these chips on other people's plates and for excited, as the chips were massive! Disappointingly, they were fried in advance and sat in the basket for a while, so by the time they landed on our plate, were barely warm. I don't think any business should serve food like this, especially when they could be so good if cooked and served straight away. What a shame. - Beans and rice: good, and I mean as good as Popeyes'. The man who looked like the boss was impatient and not exactly service oriented, but I guess when their chicken is so fantastic and customers still pile in, he doesn't need to be.. In a region blessed with infinite options for Peruvian chicken / pollo a la brasa, it's hard to know which one to choose. A friend recommended Super Chicken and she was so right. *Chicken: the chicken here is well marinated, not too salty but not lacking in flavor. The texture is just right with the juiciness, not dry. I was also happy with our sides (fried yucca, and rice) which were delicious and generously-sized. I love how the plain rice is actually mixed with some garlic oil and it's not just plain steamed rice straight from the cooker. *Lomo Saltado: We ordered this as a test but I wouldn't recommend it here. Beef seems sweet and lacking in flavor. So this is the sort of place that really does one thing right and one thing well (chicken), which I respect. The counter serve staff are fast and get your order done right away with no waiting like at some other Peruvian chicken places. One tip I have is to avoid using 3rd party websites to pay for food here. The prices through Grubhub etc are inflated. Better to pay at the restaurant. Limited seating here, don't bring a large group for dine-in and you'll be okay. read more

There is no better place for Peruvian chicken within an hour's drive, if not more, and I can't go without getting a side of plantains. I only buy to go, and when they get busy, time management and/or multi-tasking doesn't seem to be their strong suit, but the food more than makes up for it. read more

An update is looooong overdue for Super Chicken, since I last reviewed this delicious haven of chicken-y goodness like, 6 years ago, BUT honestly my opinion hasn't really changed. It's a very no-frills kind of spot, but you know that it's good when the line is always to the door around meal rush time.
