Chicken is smaller and not as good a couple years ago. Sides are not as good. Rice with chicken very bland, no flavor. Lot of the Yucca was to hard. I always loved to get the goat stew. One of the best Peruvian style rotisserie restaurants in the area, in my opinion. The chicken is flavorful, great seasonings and a delicate smoky/grilled flavor. The meat is not dry, nice and moist. The yucca fries are always really good. They have a wide selection of sides like red or black beans, white rice or fried rice, french fries or fried yucca, red onion and tomato salad and a spicier red onion and tomoto salad. They serve tacos and a wide range of other items. I mainly go for the Peruvian rotisserie chicken. The portions to go are really large, they don't skimp! They are handling the whole covid thing very well. There are shields up over the entire length of the food counters and staff are wearing masks. The only surface you touch is the door and the pen if you're paying debit. They have outdoor seating as well while respecting social distancing and you can pick up your order curbside. Stuck in a hotel all the way out in Carlyle, Alexandria with no car and not enough fortitude to tough the winter cold, I decided to check out the choices on Uber Eats and found this place. Admittedly, the lack of photos and reviews made me a little nervous but my dinner turned out to be quite good. The pollo saltado stir fry is served with your choice of two sides from a pretty decent list of options. I went for the white rice (the Peruvian version is so tasty) and tostones. Unfortunately, I ended up with a serving of fries instead -- an unfixable problem when you've had your food delivered. Oh well. So, potato overload aside, I was happy with my meal. Prices might run a little higher than for other Peruvian places in the DMV but the servings were also extra enormous. Try the crema volteada for dessert if you like flan. Their halal assortments of rotisserie chicken and kabobs are delicious. This is the perfect cheap eat. My go-to is their 1/4 white meat (it is extra for white meat) with spinach and french fries. Hi Super Pollo, I was harassed and disrespected by an employee. I had told them what I wanted for my sides and then they proceeded not to give me what I ordered. When I addressed the mistake, profanity was used towards me, and the rest of the staff engaged and began laughing. However I did not react because it's in another language. I put my hand out to retrieve the order and they just dropped it and walked away. This has been a repeated issue when I visit the restaurant. With that said the customer service is not only terrible, I felt attacked and discriminated against, who knows my food could have been contaminated or played with. I will not be returning to any of your locations. If I do it will be to expose the terrible bigoted employees you have. I will file a formal complaint next time. You charge way to much to treat your customers like this. I hope your employees learn to treat people with dignity and respect. read more

Sadly, this place has potential, but the service is not good, and the food could be very good if it was fresh. I also should have known it wasn't going to be great when I walked in during dinner time and I was the only customer. We like our rotisserie chicken well done. I asked the guy if they could do that, but he coldly pointed at the many chickens that they had under the food warming lights and said this is what we have. I asked if they were at least fresh, and he said they were cooked an hour and a half before. Basically, he was telling me no, they aren't fresh. I thought whatever, we were hungry and I didn't feel like going somewhere else. I ordered a whole chicken with fries and salad. The fries were not fresh and barely warm. I could tell they were not fresh, but again, I was in a hurry. They were soggy. They would have been totally fine if they weren't sitting there for way too long. (I also noticed from looking at the mashed potatoes that they were also stale - it was showing "cracks" so you could tell it was not good). The chicken was actually at a good temperature, but the skin was soggy because of the fact that it was sitting there for so long. However, it was a pretty large chicken, and the seasoning was good as well. Again, if the food was fresh, it would have been very good. The price was also expensive compared to The Chicken Place in Bailey's Crossroads. I believe the whole chicken was $22. At The Chicken Place it is around $16. If the food was fresh, I wouldn't mind the price, especially since the chicken was bigger. I usually eat half a chicken, and my family eats the other half. This time, I only ate a quarter because it just wasn't appetizing. To sum it up, the employees were pretty cold/rude and seemed like they didn't want to be there. This alone was a huge turn-off. Food could be great if they weren't cutting corners. I would have gladly waited for a fresh chicken if that was a choice, and they could have gotten at least 4 if not 5 stars. This is not the best Peruvian chicken money can buy but it's good! Also near my house so I come here a lot when I'm too lazy to cook. The service is super quick. You can be in and out in 5 minutes if you what you want and are in a hurry. The shopping center they are in is currently being renovated so hopefully it looks better after. I have been meaning to try this place for a while, because the smell wafting over the Harris Teeter parking lot is amazing. Finally stopped in today, and I won't be back. The chicken that smells so good is stacked high in a glass box, reminiscent of a mass grave. Similarly, there are about ten pounds of French fries under a heat lamp that were cooked some amount of time in the past. I went with the chicken burrito, because the mass grave scared me. It was clumsily wrapped (had to eat most with a fork) in a ho hum tortilla and was nothing special. Some of those fries came with it... Tasting as you'd expect. Dipping them in the green sauce propped them up some, but not enough. I miss San Diego taco shop burritos, but this place made me miss the explicit board of health grades in the window. I am not daring enough to try this stuff without reassurance that everything is to code. read more

The bottom line: Spicy, juicy, flavorful and with a side of crispy yucca fries. My first and favorite Peruvian chicken joint. Ok, it looks like a cafeteria but who cares? I've order the chicken sub here (though I've heard raves of the chicken portions). For the sub, they cut the meat off the bone, stuff it in a soft bun with melty cheese, and give you a glorious green sauce for extra zing. You get to choose a side dish and I once chose the fries (a bit soggy and sad) but the fried yucca (especially when freshly fried) is crisp and delicious. The service is great. I've always been greeted warmly, with a smile. The price is also right (I think it's about $7 for the sub with side). Come to think of it...I need to go back to Super Pollo. read more

Super Pollo is my go-to place for Peruvian chicken. The chicken is always tender and delicious, the steak fries are always served hot, the rice (I'm talking about plain, white rice here!) has some flavor I would kill to replicate in my kitchen. And of course, the sauces! It is well worth it to ask for some extra sauce, I use it for everything. On top of all this, it is a very solid deal for a half chicken and two sides. The service is efficient, if not particularly friendly. But I'm not driving to Lincolnia to make friends, I'm driving for the chicken! The establishment isn't the nicest, but it has space and is largely undiscovered by the crowd that packs into Pollo Rico all the time. An under appreciated gem: Super Pollo. read more

They all serve chicken and steak with similar choices of sides and they all preserve the middle school cafeteria ambiance. The menu is somewhat limited, but really, at a place called Super Pollo, should you be ordering anything other than, well, pollo? I got 1/4 chicken with two sides. It's served cafeteria style. They guy made sure I like the look of my 1/4 chicken before putting it on the plate. I got spinach and plantains as my sides. They had a bunch of coolers with a really wide variety of drink choices available. Aside from the spinach, my meal was amazing. I could have eatehn 1/2 a chicken from there. It was well-seasoned, juicy, with crispy skin. I'll be back again, and maybe I'll discover a different side dish I should have to bump this place up to 5 stars. read more

We get take-out from here on a monthly basis. The location has good parking, they accept credit cards, and has a large spacious area to dine-in. Customer-service is hit or miss. Sometimes they load you up on extra sauce ONLY if you ask them to. The chicken is delicious, and I feel like they are best in the NOVA area. Love their chickpeas and spinach is also good, but often too oily. The green sauce and white sauce are the best and what makes this place stand out! Their yucca is pretty dry though. Plantains are OK, and sometimes dry. Rice is fluffy and moist. I want to try their other offerings, but so far we only get the chicken and sides here. Super Pollo stands out amongst all the pollo a la brasa joints in NoVA. The standard I measure it against is El Pollo Rico in Arlington. El Pollo's chicken is more heavily seasoned (especially the cumin), but that doesn't mean SP's is lacking. Personally I think it's less salty, which is my preference, and of course SP has a good selection of side dishes. The plaintains, chicken fried rice, and chick peas are also good. The cole slaw is KFC's with an extra dose of mayo so if that's your cup o' tea go for it. I usually get the spinach and fries or yucca, depending on what came out of the fryer more recently. Just peer over the glass counter at the bins and see which batch glistens more. The two sauces that come with the chicken are good mixed together. I usually put half of the green into the container with the mayo-like one and dunk my fries/yucca into it. I know people use the sauce for the chicken but I feel like it's already so well seasoned that it doesn't need any extra help. read more
