I didn't even know there was a second comedy club in town ( I just thought the Tacoma Comedy Club) but it was a pleasant surprise to know that isn't the case! Steve first spotted the event we went to which was Dungeons and Dragqueens. An improv take of the Dungeons and Dragons game with dragqueens in which they make selections that leads them on a fantasy adventure and their fates. It was very funny and very entertaining to watch! Glad this group came from Seattle to do a Tacoma show! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The set up here is nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The comedy club serves food and there is a two drink minimum but it doesn't need to be alcoholic. This place has a great line up, I'll give them that but they are absolute scammers and are very unprofessional and rude!!! A while back my husband and I saw that they were having DL Hughley and we love him. We paid for VIP tickets and showed up right when the doors were opening. There was a long line at the door but we obviously didn't mind. It was DL Hughley and we had paid VIP tickets in advance. When we eventually got in, we were sat at the very back. We told the lady seating us that we had VIP tickets and showed her but she said that the front area was full. I thought it was ridiculous!! If you pay VIP is it so far fetched to expect your seat to be reserved??? Fast forward to this coming weekend, my husband bought tickets to see T.I. Again he got vip tickets but this time he reached out to the club to ask if we will have reserved seats. First off, they don't answer the phone and second, they take forever to text back. Whoever responded recommended we arrive early if we want good seats . Of course we were gonna arrive early but their response insinuated it's a first come, first served basis. If that's the case, I wish they would say that instead of scamming people into paying extra for a VIP ticket just to be sat in a corner somewhere because someone else with a regular ticket arrived half an hour before you. And the worst part is when he explained our specific concern again, the person texting replied that they will strive to accommodate all their guests even while it causes an inconvenience to their hostesses and servers. Seriously??? Accommodating their guests or reserving VIP seats is an inconvenience?? Isn't that their job?? We decided that we don't want to go through the hustle of getting a baby sitter and driving an hour to the club just to be given the same service as last time so we opted to cancel and ask for a refund. They said they don't do refunds. So we are stuck attending the show. Like I said, they have a great line up, they do. But this whole VIP thing is really just a way of scamming people to pay more yet you won't actually get that VIP seat. They should scrap off that VIP thing so we at least know it's first come first served. People will still show up coz of the great line up. They don't have to lie. I'm sure none of the proprietors of this club would appreciate such service if they were the customers. MY ADVICE...just get regular tickets and show up as early as you can. There's no where stated that there will be a requirement to order at least two things per person. I ordered $17 nachos and there was hair in my food and they offered to remake so we just accepted since we had to order two things anyways. My boyfriend didn't want to order anything so she recommended 2 waters and she said it was $6 but they were $6 a piece so it was 15 something after tax. I had an ad pop up on my FB page for Bill Bellamy at this club and all I know is that I had to go. I did my research before booking our tickets here. Reading over some of the reviews, it mentioned that people with smaller parties were often sat at tables with other people. However, after reading reviews - I still wasn't sure how the seating was arranged - VIP, preferred, general etc. I called and spoke to a very friendly gentleman and he guided me to the FAQ section of their website where it showed the seating map. So after all that, I knew we were doing a booth. For the booth, they charge for 5 seats (same as VIP pricing) so on our visit the booth was $175. It was only me and my man but after seeing how crowded it was - it was hands down the best decision. And on top of that it was very comfortable and the best seat in the house. Reading some other review, it was a mix of ratings on service. So I was prepared for slow service. But I have to say - our server was on point. She was stayed busy with so many tables but did a pretty good job of making sure she took care of everyone. The comedy club is adjacent to the holiday inn and if you book thru the website - you will definitely get a better rate for the night. It was nice that we could just walk to the show and walk back to our room afterwards. Now for the show, Bill Bellamy was hilarious. I loved every second of it. My man even thoroughly enjoyed it as well. Bill worked in jokes about him performing at the Holiday Inn, the Tacoma area and the weather. So he adjusted the show to his audience. We never stopped laughing. His two openers were just as funny too. Overall, our experience was great! I'd highly recommend this to anyone who loves a good laugh. My wife and I attended a live taping of Nate Jackson doing crowd work. We laughed so hard all night. He is a master at his craft. He had a guest that was disturbing the rest of the patrons experience and he tactfully treated them with compassion and care while not allowing them to disrupt the show. Nate Jackson wasn't the only entertaining part of the evening. His opening acts also delivered laughs. The service was some of the best we ever experienced in a comedy club. The servers kept our drinks full and even though the food selection was limited it was good quality and fairly priced. Not until after 5 pm and that phone representative offers tickets to some unknown artist for the same night since "you were gonna come down anyway," as if CHOOSING an artist had nothing to do with the original ticket purchase. I asked for a credit to another show instead and was told sure, text name and information to their number. Crickets. Not even a response indicating my text was received. Then the following month, the Sheryl Underwood show was canceled - again at the last minute. Called and the person answering was kind enough to offer another replacement show I wasn't interested in, but again suggested I text my information so I'm credited properly for a future show and sorry, they don't offer refunds. Nothing on their site indicates any policy for refund, credit or reseating for an equally yoked national act. I'm just supposed to sit and wait for maybe, possibly some other artist I want to see or perhaps the original artist to reschedule. What a fucking hassle. Is this place a scam or what? I see Nate Jackson doesn't even perform at his own shit - he's performing at the Moore, maaan - whatever. read more

Got a very short email only stating it would be rescheduled and I'd be notified last Friday. Several days have past since then and still no communication and no refund. Attended a show in Spring 2023. We bought tickets to the first show of the night so it was easy to park. Only gave them 4 stars because the food wasn't good and most alcoholic beverages weren't priced on the menu. We ordered a hamburger (my burger was bland and cold plus they added cheese by mistake), wings, and a pepperoni flatbread (very small). Our draft beers were $6. Not sure if all draft beers are the same price though. And as with any establishment, check your bill. They tried to charge me for a cheeseburger instead of a burger. We went as a group of 10 to the David Arnold show. The show was great but the venue killed the experience. We were sat and waited 45 minutes for a server, ordered food and drinks and the drinks came 30 minutes later. The food arrived 15 minutes before the show was over and we were ushered out. It wasn't a complex order and just beer and nachos. I think the nachos had been sitting for a while because the chips had disintegrated and become one with the toppings. We didn't have time to eat them and couldn't eat the majority because once the chips lose their texture you need a fork and they didn't come with one. We all got VIP tickets but our seats were the worst in the house. Even the comedian turned around to our group and and said make sure they don't seat you there next time - you guys got robbed. Got no text or email implying it was rescheduled, and it's rescheduled 4 MONTHS IN ADVANCE. ??? IN MAY. And then she hit us with the "no refunds on rescheduling only cancellation" how convenient. Saw Tiffany Haddish last night. First time at this venue and I will definitely be back. Doors opened at 6 pm and everyone from the door to our seats were hospitable. Service was attentive and made sure we were taken care of with drinks and food. Only negative would be the comment at the front desk about killing a tree because I printed off my receipts and was told not to kill a tree. They look up your name on the computer, so now I know. I would recommend having upcoming shows on one of your screens instead of the menu on both. Maybe a QR code on the drink menu for food. Thank you for an evening of great laughs! Five star for the show, we had a great time and laughed so hard. One star for the "2 drinks minimum per person rule", it's such a scam. I got two cocktails and barely had a buzz, my husband doesn't drink so he got two cranberry juice (which was 80% ice 20% juice). The four drinks cost $40 and they add on a mandatory 15% tip. Food items do not count towards the minimum purchase requirement. I get that as a venue you need to make money, but I would rather pay higher ticket prices than being forced to purchase watered down cocktail and juice. read more

Extra $10 for VIP plus a $10 service charge at purchase they add $10 gratuity on to your bill no matter the size of your party. They charged $30 to take a picture with Sherri but the audacity is they take it with your phone. I have never experienced so much rudeness from every staff member in all my days. They rush you in get every dime from you they can and then rudely rush you out. I will never return I only went because of Sherri now no matter who performs there I will never go back. My best friend sent me a flyer for a queer event last night. I purchased general admission for myself and my partner. When we arrived they gave us VIP! The venue is BEAUTIFUL. You will have a great view no matter where you sit. The food wasn't the best (wasn't there for that anyway) but the service and staff are absolutely amazing. There is a two drink minimum as well and bottled water counts. My favorite drink is called the fluffy, I believe. We actually went two nights in a row. We saw Sam Jay the second night and the owner purchased one of my drinks just for checking in on Yelp. It was only supposed to be a 10% off coupon. It was really nice of him! We also got VIP the second night with the comp tickets that were sent to us for the show. It was such a good vibe and experience. I can't believe I didn't know about this venue. I've been to Nate's twice. Once to see an old friend from home (Shuler King, late 2021) and to see Darren Fleet last month. The first time I went the show was packed! The second time was a Sunday night so it was a very light crowd- not that it mattered! Anywho- the basics: located at the Holiday Inn so there is a parking lot with ample spaces. It's a comedy house and like most I've been to, there is a two drink minimum. I'm glad it can be any two drinks, so as not to force anyone into purchasing alcohol if they don't want to. The food the first time was less than stellar- the nachos came with hardly any meat on them and they were cold. However, upon visiting in 2022, they have revamped the menu. It has been simplified and contains items such as wings, burgers and hummus. No fries at all- but bagged Lay's chips are available as sides to meals and for purchase. Those wings, however, are $10 for what you see pictured. They used the wingettes instead of actual whole wings and I understand rising cost of food, especially chicken but yikes, they could do a little better with that. They do have a nice bar with a good range of alcoholic selections to choose from. Both times I've been, the owner Nate has come out and addressed the crowd which I think is very personable and I enjoyed it. I live pretty far away now so I won't be making any special trips to the club, but if you like one of the performers he's having, definitely go see them. May want to stay away from the food, though! read more

My boyfriend and I went to see Tommy Davidson. I bought VIP tickets online ($35 each). Check in seems tedious. You have to wait in line outside. Once you make it to the door you go through security. After security you check in. After check in you have to wait in line to be seated. We got front row seats. Minimum 2 drinks per person (alcoholic and non alcoholic). We didn't eat because we went out to eat prior. My boyfriend said the men's restroom is well stocked and has adequate stalls to accommodate lots of men. This is a great time but don't think it's a cheap date. My boyfriend and I have 5 alcoholic drinks and a bottle of water ($140). I drank two French 75s made with Hendricks Gin. My boyfriend drank three crown and ginger ales. He advocates for true double shots here. If you aren't from Tacoma here are my pro tips, this is in the heart of slums, so don't leave nothing in your car and lock your car up. Park where you can get out easy because again, slums. we've been to this venue twice now, and they were completely different experiences. they average to 2-2.5, so this is the reason for the star rating. the first time, we saw russell peters. he was amazing, the openers were funny, the food was good, and the music was banging. we arrived maybe half an hour before the show started and were among the first to arrive. there are table numbers, but when you buy the tickets, you're not assigned seats... it's general seating. we were told to sit at any empty table, so we got to choose our seats. the tables are tiny round tables but we got one to ourselves so we were ready to have a good time. the service was slow but it was packed, and there were a couple of people who probably didn't belong at a comedy show who were heckling russell at different points--despite all the disclaimers about no talking or harassing the comics or you'll be thrown out, nobody even told them to quiet down, except for russell on stage which was pretty wild. they definitely detracted from our overall experience but since it was otherwise fantastic we tried not to let it bother us too much. we left this show super excited to come back, really happy to have found a cool comedy club nearby. we really liked the intimate feel. this would've been a 4- or 5-star review even including the audience and lack of action by the staff. the second time, we saw marlon wayans. he was funny, openers were hilarious, music was good, but the food left something to be desired and so did the seating. again, we arrived early, thinking that it'd be first-come first-served again since the ticket options were general seating or VIP booths. we were again among the first to arrive with plenty of empty tables, but we were asked how many were in our party (2) and shown to a table in the middle of the back-right wall directly behind several people. we asked if we could move to a different seat since i'm pretty short and was having trouble seeing, but we were told that all the other seats were reserved. this didn't make a lot of sense to me, since again tickets were general admission without any reserved seating, and we weren't asked our names but rather how many of us there were before being shown to our seats. then, we were packed in like sardines... two people were later shown to our table as well and we were shoulder to shoulder with the people at the next table (who kept poking and touching my husband for no reason, and who tried to fight us when we asked them to stop near the end of the show... nobody cared to help diffuse that situation even though the other couple was literally trying to square up to us and the guy was getting loud and drawing attention, and there were staff nearby since the show was about to end). otherwise, the audience was way more fun than last time, but we watched as people trickled in, even arriving after the show start time, and were shown to better tables. this was immediately a bummer, as tickets weren't cheap and it just felt like we got the short end of the stick even though we arrived well ahead of showtime. i'd be curious to know how seats are reserved in this venue, especially since it seems like they're only reserved sometimes. as far as food, i guess the menu changes periodically, since it wasn't at all the same as the last show except for the nachos. i ordered the two pretzels with cheese, but received one... when i asked about it, i was told they'd run out (?) but i was charged full price when the bill came anyway. my husband ordered a flatbread that was so soggy you couldn't pick up a piece without the toppings sliding off immediately. there is a two-drink minimum which we expected from the last show, but my husband asked if they had coke and was told yes, but then was brought pepsi instead without being told. luckily we figured this out quickly, as he is allergic, and we were able to avoid a reaction. again, we were still charged for this. we left not ever wanting to come back based on how everything went this time. a stark contrast to the first time we were here. this would've been a 0- or 1-star review. read more

Pros: This is the place to be! On a Thursday night Tony Baker and a whole tour brought the house down. On a Thursday!! It was a good time. The venue is really nice. Black owned. Very neat and tidy. Spacious and comfy. Staff here is very professional and accommodating. They don't bother you a bunch, but they do come around a few times during the show to make sure you don't want a drink or anything. Ambiance is very chill. Very relaxed. I don't think there's a dress code, but it's a nice spot. I'd look good for a night out here. And be ready to spend some money. They have a 2 drink minimum and the menu I guess is changed all the time. CONS: Other reviews have said that the meals are catered, but this particular evening was not what I expected. The doors open at 5, but dining is not available until 6:30 when the show started at 7:30. Don't show up early thinking you're getting dinner. I made that mistake and was very disappointed and eating French fries and a banana at 11PM on a school night. It was kid food and finger foods for $10 and up. Microwave pizza and "nachos". $10 for 5 wings, three baby carrots, 1/3 of a stalk of celery. Pitiful. Nachos were a can of chili and can cheese on tortilla chips for $15. Highway robbery. Had the show not been good, the venue not been beautiful or the staff having been so wonderful, I wouldn't have given them as many stars. Nate Jackson is hilarious! I'll definitely be going back, but I'll eat before I go next time. It's also not in the best of neighborhoods, but because of how it's situated, it's probably the safest you'll feel over there in Tacoma. Backs up to a freeway. This is a new club in the area and I honestly think it's probably the best in the PNW. The space is really cool and the food is actually good (which is crazy for a comedy club). Nate Jackson, the club owner, is funny af. He has hosted each of the shows we've gone to (5 now) and we saw his full set once. Really one of the best comics I've seen. They have had some crazy shows already; George Lopez, DL Hughly, Russell Peters, Tony Woods (Chappelle's mentor). This is a legit club. If you're a fan of comedy, you should definitely check it out. read more
