So, probably don't plan to come here stuffed, but they do have snacks should you need it. This spot is definitely on the lowkey side but it was a comfortable stop. The times I was here with Steve we usually stuck with the beer selection and with what was on tap there. It's mostly local beers in the metro area and I remember the variety of that list being pretty generous. So that was all good. We even got some food to eat here. I have had their burgers here and liked them quite a bit. The classic type burger seems to be the Park Burger and along with fries it proved to be a good meal. Definitely a nice establishment for the neighborhood!

We have been going to the Hard Luck for about 3months now, and for the most part, it has be a nice place to go if you don't go on a Friday or Saturday night. We went there last night and there was an out of control girl there on drugs and she was causing all kinds of trouble. She was smoking crack cocaine right outside the entry door, and there was no staff doing anything about it. This girl was with gang members and was targeting other people having a good time and got so out of hand that when many people there ask to have her removed, the staff did nothing. During the course of the evening, she caused so much trouble, many of the customers there starting to leave and I even heard a woman tell the bartender that she would never return there because she felt unsafe because nothing was being done about the trouble maker. During the course of time, gang member got involved and we became targeted by them and our wives were approached and threatened by this out of control woman that the staff still would not remove from the bar, and it almost come down to an all out bar brawl. We decided to remove ourselves from this dangerous environment before we were assaulted and or shot or killed. This is no joke, we felt that our lives we in danger and the lives of others as well. We became surrounded by others that we gang members and we were left no other choice but to retreat asap. There is no control at the Hard Luck Bar and Grill, there is no security, and the worse part about it was that the staffs lack of control, led the customers to deal with the whole thing, and that's the reason it was getting so out of control, every time another person got involved, it escalated more and more until everyone was concerned for their safety. This is no way to run a drinking establishment. People go there to enjoy themselves and have fun. THIS WAS NOT FUN, it was dangerous and disappointing to say the least. I do not and will not ever set foot inside this place ever again. Hard Luck Bar and Grill, all the blame falls on your lack of responsibility and inability to run a safe business. Shame on you for what you allowed to happen, and shame on you for putting peoples lives in harms way. read more

Last time I've been to this bar a waitress was rude. She was yelling at a customer because it was time to close down the bar. She wanted him to down his beer and leave. He was being disrespectful however she was sober and working. She yelled at him and said "drink your f***'n beer and get the ***k out!" She has dark hair about 5 ft 6 or 7. She has tattoo and wears glasses. If you do not like your Job...... Find another one. One thing I do know about customer service is you are the face of the buisness. It's hard to maintain your patience at times because let's be real several customers can be assholes, but your dealing with intoxicated customers. You have to be careful how you deal with these type of customers because she almost started a full on bar brawl. Also I noticed that there are no bouncers at the door or working at all. NOT SAFE AT ALL. And I wasn't asked for my ID to check if I was 21 the whole night and this happened twice. Who knows how many minors party in this bar. read more

Don't go to this bar. Went one day and someone was way over served trying to fight people. Gave a second chance with my wife and her friends and the security guard is racist he got pissed and wouldn't let me in cause I was white and showed up with 3 black women. He got mad as hell and told me white people weren't welcome especially white men fuck this racist ass place. Gave it 2 chances as a white man with a black wife. Racism is something we don't tolerate and these security guards are racist and do not protect the people. read more

The Place feels very chill, you can see it's definitely for older crowds which make the place feel safe, I would give it 5 stars, But security needs to be alot better and should make sure parked cars aren't vandalized like my vehicle was one night I was there.. I grew up in South Tacoma and am very proud of it. Quickly, my friends and I became regulars. It used to be such a good time. It's never been a very busy establishment, but we were able to play some pool, play whatever music we wanted, and just have a good time. The drinks used to be poured heavy, the servers were fun, and it became my favorite hidden spot. I even met the love of my life there, whom I now share children with. He was also a regular. I used to spend a minimum of $300 a month on shots, whether they were for me, my friends, or whoever wanted some! That was when the shots were $6.50 and poured fairly. Not to mention all the money I have spent on TouchTunes over the years. I even looked back at my bank records, and I'll mention that half the time I paid cash. But things started to change. I'm not too informed on the business side of it, but I believe the business was handed down from the owner to the owner's son. I have heard negative things from people and friends about the way he treats employees, and I've watched some of the most fun bartenders leave or get fired. The vibe just isn't the same anymore. The prices have also been jacked up to at least $10 a shot. Come on, just take a look around. There's barely anyone in there anymore. No one wants to go there because of the prices and because of the vibe that is there now. I have seen some of the improvements made inside the business, but that's not why we were regulars. We were regulars because of the VIBE. A lot of our regular music started getting blocked, and now the few good songs that are available are CENSORED!!! Really?! The bathrooms are gross they need a new remodel I won't eat there. The bartenders are what make a place like this. There was a bartender named Jen who I personally had a terrible experience with. Her attitude was bad, she was loud and unfriendly, and I often felt ignored when I was trying to order a drink. It seemed like she would rather play pool, smoke, or talk to someone than take my drink order. Eventually, we just stopped going. On the other hand, Tiny and Tina have always been good bartenders to us. Theresa too! At this point, we will pretty much only go if one of them is working. If you are the owner of this establishment and you're reading this and want to take some advice: don't just think about yourself when it comes to this business. Think about your customers. What do your customers want? Take a look at the cameras. Look at which days are busy, who is bartending, what music is being played, and what age groups are coming in. Pay attention to what makes people actually want to stay and come back. And if you're a customer reading this review, I know I can't be the only one who feels like the last 2-3 years have gone downhill. This place no longer feels like the home bar we used to love going to, and honestly, that makes me angry. We were loyal regulars. We spent our money here, brought our friends here, and continued coming back because we loved the vibe and the people. Watching a place we supported for so many years turn into somewhere we barely even want to go anymore is extremely disappointing.
