What a good find! The outside definitely looks a little iffy as it is kind of in a more industrial looking area, but we are so glad we came and trusted the reviews. First, our server, Zach (unsure of spelling) was wonderful. So friendly and attentive and had good recommendations for what to order. The food was so delicious! My husband also got the elk sliders, but he dug into them before I could get a picture. It was his favorite thing that he ate. The birria flatbread was just ok. We will not be getting it again. The wagyu burger was delicious and the fries were so perfectly crispy. Drinks were wonderful and they have a great full bar selection. I am not typically a carrot cake person because don't like raisins or nuts in my dessert. The flavor was great and the frosting wasn't too sweet. Definitely unassuming from the outside. We were in town for a graduation. We were recommended this restaurant. Upon parking, I didn't know what to expect. Upon entry, a very inviting restaurant with seating inside and outside. We voted for inside to enjoy our dinner. Service was great. The waiter was very attentive. Minimal guests in the restaurant but still had the workers running. Food was great. The steak was cooked exactly how I like it. And it was so large that I did not expect it for that price. First visit. Love the interior of this establishment! Our server, x was gracious, calming and made some great recommendations based on my questions. You can always tell great server when they listen and size up what you would like and don't even know you. They were out of quite a few things. I wasn't quite sure what to think about that. Since they have unique food made fresh and beer on tap that might be why (I had a stout that was amazing). I had a cup of snow crab bisque soup - that was awesome. 3.5 on my second visit. I brought my husband, we had reservations. This time around, I was less cold, but my first experience was overall better. The cuban sandwich is now off the menu, replaced by yet another burger, which feels redundant and elitist, as the Sandwich was the cheapest item on the main courses. We ordered the same pasta I had the first time and it was radically different. The steak was good, but the sauce was 100% different tasting. The first sauce had true gorgonzola taste, it was bold, flavorful and so damn good. This one was fine, more chicken broth-y and generic than anything else. Honestly, Olive Garden status almost. Our meal and drinks were delicious. The only con take away would be that all my left overs did not taste appetizing and on the verge of being bad and it was literally the next day. Genuinely love my experience here whenever I go. The food is delicious, the service is kind while efficient and the presentation is everything. It is a bit dim inside the building/restaurant, but it was still totally fine to be able to see my food. The drinks are wonderful. Our waiter was friendly, funny, and very helpful in walking us through the menu so we could make informed choices. One person in our group ordered the filet and completely devoured it, despite insisting they "weren't hungry." Another had the salmon and said it was excellent. I ordered the pork chop, and WOW, absolutely delicious. For dessert, we tried the beignets and the carrot cake. The beignets were great, but the carrot cake completely stole the show. Such an amazing experience. Worth the drive from the Eastside. I have to complement this restaurant on unique flavors and takes on traditional meals. For example, the potatoes on the side of our steak were flaky like a croissant and structurally pleasing to the eye. Very delicious very unique. Secondly the Caesar salad tasted exactly like a barbecue Caesar salad. There was a smoky flavor that was absolutely delicious and left you wanting more. Lastly I have to complement the fried brie. This is the exact reason I came out to try bar bistro. Melty, delicious and wonderful. I would say that they should give you more than three pieces of bread. The fruit was fresh and absolutely delicious pairings of toppings on the brie. I have to come out and try this place again and bring my friends and other family members. Such a hidden gem. read more

My friend told me about an awesome Pork Chop special in Tacoma so I had to come check it out for myself. Came right when they opened at 4pm and got my order in. When we first drove up, I had a tinge of concern as the outside of the place looks like a dive bar. Once I opened the door, it was a clean, friendly, and well appointed "classy casual" kind of feel. Once we sat down, our waitress (Stephanie) could not have been more gracious and patient as I sat with my siblings (all in our fifties), and my parents (in their mid 80's), sat down to look over the menu. Stephanie took the time to tell us about the menu, some of her favorites, asked about the types of food we liked and answered very detailed questions about the preparation and ingredients of the dishes with an eagerness to answer any more questions if we had them. We had several of the appetizers and a variety of entrees and everyone liked everything that they ate. The prices were not inexpensive, but the portions and quality were a very good value for what we got. We didn't much get into the drinks, but the two that had cocktails were both pleased with them. For dinner I had the crab cakes and the grilled romaine salad. The crab cakes are not large but the flavor makes up for that. They were full of flavor and the micro greens and sauce all complimented each other well. The grilled salad and house made dressing was amazing. I added a side of lump crab. The crab was juicy and buttery. My husband had the pork chops with mashed potatoes and collard greens. Okay PNW y'all are out here cooking it up with these greens. Whoever made those greens has some definite soul! I loved them! Potatoes were creamy and filling. I do not eat pork but, my husband raves about the flavor. My husband gave his food a 4.5 out of 5! If say that's pretty good. Lastly the dessert. We ordered the carrot cake. The cake was good but, the icing was buttercream I believe instead of cream cheese and I am not a fan of buttercream. Also the cake was topped with the strips of fried or dried carrots and it was not needed. A great dessert/cake can speak for itself. I don't think it was needed. This place slaps. I gave it a four star before and I don't think that was right. I know previously I would try to limit my five star interactions so that I felt like I was a strong reviewer. That is out the window. I pick places that are mostly awesome, and I enjoy places a lot. This is a 5 star experience. You can look through my previous posts I often complain about pricing. I am not doing that here. The price is fair across the board. I don't eat fine dining very often and this is a nice midpoint. Its fancy, it feels upper class, but the price doesn't reflect super upper class. Here is what I think makes the difference. One prices are high, but not stupid. I paid $40 for a nice pork chop at a previous location that felt silly. The pork chop here is $28 and feels right inline with restaurant style pork chop. Second, they offer options that are not high priced. Where most places start their menu at $40 these guys have great offering $30 and below. Plus they offer some beautiful steak options for people who want to spend a bit more. Overall we had a great experience before, we had just as great of an experience the other night and I highly recommend for anyone who likes a solid meal. I would suggest making a reservation.
