Just your average Peruvian chicken place. Nothing special. Whole yard bird $18 was on the smaller side. Overcooked. Dry. It was grab and go. Could be that it was a wintery Saturday; cold; rainy; mid-afternoon. I would give it another chance, if in the area. Come during rush hour for fresh inventory. Hopefully, it's a one off, as I like supporting small businesses. Walked in and no yard birds were cooking. That should have been a sign. Must have gotten an old bird sitting under a heat lamp. First time ordering through their website (via ChowNow) and I ordered a family meal #1. When I added the meal it didn't give me an option so I thought I would choose when I get there. As soon as I stepped through the door the gentleman at the counter, in a passive aggressive tone, asks why I didn't add my sides. I told him that I didn't have the option to on the website and if I could just order there. He then proceeds to tell me that I'm wrong and he gets online orders all day. There was no convincing him so I opened the website back up and showed him and instead of just accepting it and moving on he continues to say I was still wrong. At this point I'm just over it so I simply asks for my sides. To make things worse the gentleman half cooks my fries and Yuka and then proceeds to grab a chopped up chicken from the warmer. The chicken definitely tasted like it was sitting out for quite some time and the fries and yuka were obviously soggy. The sauce was mediocre and the coleslaw was bland (imagine large size portions of cabbage with a watery dressing). I'll never order from this place again and will stick to other local places like Max's chicken. It's a really interesting place with friendly workers and absolutely enormous portions. The food can be a little on the bland side, but it's a lot better than American bland food, and the garbanzo beans aka chickpeas side dish is really good. The rotisserie chicken is good too. Because of the enormous portions and because it actually tastes pretty good, I will err on the side of five stars, rather than four stars. Conveniently close to H Mart so decided to drop in after shopping. Blown away by the quantity + quality of food! We got the half chicken (all white) with veggies and yuca. For ~$10 it fed me and my friend post-workout and left us feeling full! Not to mention the chicken was super moist and tasty, especially for white meat! Don't sleep on the yuca, they're like normal fries but a little sweeter and flakier texture. Would highly recommend. As you walk in they have a large menu with different types of food to select from, so if you have a picky eater friend this is the place to go. There are so many options. There were four employees working. One person in the peruvian chicken side and two others cooking the many choices of food. In the peruivan chicken side, the employee stacks the food. From what i saw he gave the customers large portions which was great. I order the steak and cheese combo. It includes my sub, fries, and drink. The fries was seasoned with cajun, which i didnt mind. Let me start by saying the owner's customer service is totally nonprofessional. I am not sure if he is naturally grumpy or he got off on the wrong side of the bed. He also not only charge us .50c for the to go doggy bag but also another .50c for the sauce, and the chick peas (please avoid) had the taste of the water from the can and they were tasteless or rather tasted bad just like old canned water. So because of those reasons I would not recommend the place to anyone. The Rotisserie Chicken was somehow tasty and so was the fried Yuca however; his behavior is so unbelievable. Ever since Sabrina's moved we've lamented our lack of pollo a la brasa but we never really tried Super Grill. I'm glad we did. The price is really good--about $7.50 for a quarter chicken and two sides. Of course I got double yucca, which was made fresh when we got there. The chicken skin could stand to be a bit crispier, but that may be a side effect of carry out with the condensation in the box. Their yellow sauce is super good, thicker than I'm used to and more flavorful. I'm curious about the other foods like the curry and teriyaki, so I'll have to come back for those. read more

However, the chicken was a little dry (dark is supposed to be juicier!) and the sides were so-so... but the price was low and I spent under $10 for my meal for such a large portion. Usually places without a lot of traffic will have their chicken sit out and go dry, but they somehow have their secret ways... The chicken is flavored well. Skin is crispy and meat is juicy. The highlight here is actually the fried rice. Super flavorful and has good chunks of chicken in it. Definitely get it as a side and I would give it 5/5 stars. I always tried their carne asada tacos. They were just average, as the meat wasn't very tender and had a super gamey flavor to it (usually happens when it sits in its own juices for too long).
