The people are very nice. But they aren't Nail Artists. My nails looked like crap a few days after I left the salon. I get white tips or tips with gel powder on top. I wasn't please with the way the nails were growing out, and the gel was too thick around the cuticle area of my nails. As the nails started to grow out you could see clunks of gel where there should have been a smooth connection between the gel and my new nail growth. Also, my nails lifted within 1 1/2 weeks and a I got a few cracks. Gel doesn't crack easily like acrylic. I'm no totally going to put the blame on the salon. Because I do wash my hands a lot. And I do type. And I used my hands to make jewelry. i admit it may have been partly my fault. But all in all, just for the look of the gel as my nail grew--is enough for me to never want to go back. read more

This place was horrible. I'm never coming back here. The lady that did my nails obviously has never done powder dip before. I picked out the color sc7 which is blue and it ended up being a bright purple color. They didn't give me a discount even though the color was not what was displayed. I asked for a narrow square nail and she gave me a very bumpy rounded square nail as you can see. Didn't file them correctly or get the coloring away from my cuticles enough. Every time I tried correcting her she just ignored me and wouldn't listen to anything I asked of her. When she was getting my nails prepared for the powder dip she drilled them down way too much and almost made me bleed. Horrible experience they didn't offer any drinks not even water. I have never had to make a yelp review until this experience. Needless to say I would not recommend this place. read more

Within less than a week FOUR of my nails broke. So I scheduled an appointment and when I arrived for my appointment, I was asked to come back later because she was too busy. When I told her that I couldn't because I had already scheduled my day around this appointment, she told me to wait until she finished a pedicure. I don't understand what the point is making an appointment when they aren't going to honor it. There are 5 employees working and only one can provide that service? No thanks. My only complaint is the spa pedi does not include wax dip or sugar scrub. For $30, I thought it would. But, they did a beautiful job. The people are friendly; the shop is bright, clean, and bigger than it looks from the outside. As an out-of-towner, I choose by reviews - this area doesn't seem to be big on leaving them. T Nails deserves more good reviews. This family run shop is great. read more

This review will cover the outcome of my actual nail service experience and the blatant racism toward another customer that I witnessed during said service experience. Some might think I'm overreacting, but I share this experience with the Yelp community so you have the information and can use it however you wish to make your own decision. First, my nail service: the experience was OK. I came to T-Nails because my usual place was too busy, and I didn't have time to wait there for service. I had my acrylic nails filled in, cut down, and painted. The fill-in and cut down wasn't terrible. There are some nails that have too much acrylic in the sides, but it isn't bad overall. The paint job wasn't quite as good. I think she must have used old top coat or something. I sat at the dryer for over 20 minutes, but they were still tacky to the touch. I stayed another 5 minutes but had to go. This was at 2:15pm. At 10:00pm when I went to bed, they were still not quite fully hardened, but I assumed it was dry just bumpy since it had been almost 8 hours. The next morning, I had lines all over my nails I didn't have when I went to sleep. Oh well, not the end of the world. Now, for the reason I wouldn't ever go back even if my nails were perfect: I was there with my friend, both of us are white. When we walked in, I believe there were 2-3 people in the back getting pedicures (there was a wall blocking my view, so it's a guess). There was only 1 woman upfront, and she didn't have a customer so she sat both of us down to do our nails. Another 3 Caucasian women came in, one with an appointment. The woman told them all to wait a minute. Then a fourth woman came in who was African American. The woman doing our nails asks her what service she wanted, and she said a fill-in. The lady working there responded "we are very busy. It will be a long time before we can help you" in a very not nice way, but I originally thought I must not be hearing her tone right. The African American woman walked out and said, very sadly under her breath, "you could've just said no." For a minute, I thought, ok, well they are a little bit busy so surely I was wrong. Until not 5 more minutes past and a group of 5 women, all Caucasian, came in. They were cheerfully greeted by the woman doing our nails, and told to wait just a few minutes. The woman doing our nails clearly treated the woman of color different than white women, and I cannot support a business who allows that. My only regret is not calling the woman out for her actions at the time. read more

I had a lovely time getting my nails done. The people were very friendly and the prices were about average. I chose gel polish and it stuck with me. They did such a good job that two weeks later I was still getting compliments and people asking if I had just gotten them done. I've had quite a bit of gel polish in my day and nothing sticks quite like the OPI brand they use. read more

Terrible job on fill-in & gel polish. Did not drill acrylics down smoothly, also nails were uneven. I had to insist several times that my nails lift easily to please ensure proper drilling. Too pricey for such poor service. The lady said she'd been doing nails for 20 years, guess she should consider retiring. I will never go back. read more

This nail place is definitely a diamond in the rough. They took time to do the shaping of my nails correctly and did not damage my nails by filing off the old shellac (it happens). I wish they could go with me to Texas! They were all so friendly and did an exceptional job! I highly recommend this salon. read more

Ok we first got in there and there was a older lady very nice to my granddaughter and said do you want flowers on your nails , of course I said yes but that was the only good thing about this trip!!! My daughter and I got pedicures the younger man that had her barely spoke and when he did it was to say something wrong about her feet, and the older man just kept yanking on my feet like I was holding them from him!!! My daughter was getting tips out on her nails, and she told the younger guy that but he gave her a manicure first, she just thought that was part of the process and when the woman started to paint her nails she told her I was getting tips, the lady said now we have to charge you for a manicure also You should have told him!!! Got my acrylic nails taken off. The older guy doing the job didn't do too bad, but he drilled my skin a few times and also didn't get all the acrylic off my nails. He didn't really seem like he was following a particular procedure, just kind of winging it. Makes me wonder if his certification is legit or one of those fake ones nail techs get from Atlanta. 3 stars because he was polite and didn't ruin my natural nails underneath. I came here about a month ago at the recommendation of my friend who said they were excellent. She was right!. I believe it was Janet who did my nails. They were very busy but got me right in without an appointment. Family run business and everyone was very polite and friendly from the moment I walked in, throughout my mani pedi and in completing my transaction. I got a perfect mani pedi (and I am picky!) The place was immaculately clean..they use basin liners and still scrub basins. Clean nail tools. Very important to me. There were also no fumes..good ventillation..also important as I am sensitive to chemical smells. I was given a very relaxed pleasant experience and perfect work. I really could not ask for more. This is the only place I will go now for my nails and I wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend them. These wonderful people know how to do excellent work and make you feel welcome and relaxed. I've had my nails done for nearly 30 years. The attention to detail such as trimming cuticles, shaping nails, and applying polish was unbelievably meticulous. Kimber did an outstanding job and I was just passing through Knoxville. She knew that and could have done a mediocre job. Although the nail technicians are very friendly and accommodating, they do a horrific job! Being from out of town , I wandered in with my nieces to get a mani-pedi. This took over 2 hours. The nail polish was clearly being thinned out and resulted in streaky nails that chipped that night. I never had a pedicure that chipped ! I would of normally told them to stop ...especially when they put the flip flops AFTER they polished my toes ....but as I said they were so friendly! Thank goodness there is a place next store to buy nail polish so I could redo such a bad job! Waste of money and time. read more

Ridiculous. I was a walk in and I asked when I showed up if they had time to take me at that moment for s gel mani and they said yes. They then proceeded to put my gel polish nails into bowls of acetone... Who does that anymore. And then left me there to soak for over 30 minutes. My nails started to curl and my skin was pruney and my cuticles were completely white! I then said I had to go in 30 more minutes and they freaked out. Joanne got ugly saying her appointments came first and it wasn't her problem that I had another place I had to be. And then she couldn't get my polish off. Said the product was the problem (it was and allays is OPI which is what they use). She then proceeded to scrape and file my polish off. And didn't even get it all off. Told me to wash my hands and she would give me lotion and that I needed to go because her next appointment was there and pay her $10. WTH? I told her that I would come back after my other appointment in the afternoon so that she could continue and give me my mani and she said only if I paid her first. And then I said no. Then she basically said they would not let me come back and give me a manicure because they couldn't please me. And I left...without giving her the $10. The people were kind, but that is the only thing they have going for them. I get acrylics. When they were filing down my nails, they kepy catching my skin, which was not only painful but unsanitary seeing as they caused me to bleed on their tools, which I did not see them clean at any time. They also did not get the correct fit for the size of my nail and left gaping holes on the sides. A couple days after I got them done the thumb nails fell off. I went back and asked them to fix them. They did, free of charge. Now, not even 3 days after I got them fixed a thumb nail fell off again. Multiple nails are loose. I would never, under any circumstances, recommend going there. read more
