Dry dipstick, 1500 miles on used engine.
    Gabriel K.

Delay, delay, deny, then lie. Sold and installed a used engine for us. Found the oil dipstick dry 1541 miles later. Photo is below and video will be posted on FB. Called Kirby a few times within their warranty period and attempted to drop off so they could assess and correct low oil, engine lights, etc. Each time a delay. They declined taking our car in on several occasions saying they didn't have storage space to wait for the next bay available. Conveniently, Kirby says they have no record of those calls, in fact, says they don't keep records of any calls. Responding to Kirby below. I called in late may or early June in preparation to go out of town trip, he declined to take the car in then. I called again and set appointment in September, which they delayed to November. Their "warranty" is bogus if they decline to service. Video available of the dry dipstick at 1500 miles.

The used parts department is the best place to go for repairing your Subaru. They always have the parts I need at really cheap prices.

I love the fact that I have a choice of new parts or used parts. They always give my two prices to choose from.

I was so impressed with how Kirby handled the situation, that I offered to pay a good faith portion of the parts cost.

We were in need of a particular bulb for a particular older vehicle and a friend had recommended this chain of autocrat stores and this was the most convenient location for us. I am not sure if it the one the neighbor uses but that does not really matter, it was close this time. The manager was training wha appeared to be a brand new employee, step by step on how to use the computer listing, find it in the store etc, while also attending his other duties. It took quite a while to get the entire process finished, more than what we had expected to be a very quick stop. But in the end we left with the correct part, at a good price and even under these circumstances it saved us far more time than having had to take it to local place we often have used in the east event for simple procedures. It had been a while since we used the do it yourself method and still glad we didi. We would go back here again if we had a similar purchase to make and repair to do for ourselves. We appreciate that with a trained employee available it would have lived up to our expectations. But everyone has to learn at some point and these days, already trained new employees are few and far between waiting for employment.

All of a sudden, three show up a different dealers seemingly on the same day. Pollard sent me a dealer pricing quote through email right away. I spoke with Conor on the phone and he setup a test drive appointment for that afternoon. I hadn't been to a dealer post-covid, so I wasn't sure what to expect and he went over their protocol - meet out front, go over the car, do the test drive. This limits the number of people you interact, but without making the process unworkable. It's definitely different, and I like it more than I expected. As promised, Conor met me out front with the Jeep and went over everything. No pressure or over-selling. Not that it would be been necessary.I had been researching Wrangler JLs for about two months now, so really once I saw it there in all its glory, I was sold. After the test drive, things went quickly and smoothly. Price, financing (Chrysler is offering 0% APR on 36/mo), trade-in, paperwork took about 90 minutes. No negatives with the experience. Everyone I dealt with was knowledgeable. There was no pressure, no stress. Highly recommended.

Since the dealership changed its name from Pollard to Fowler in 2021, the quality of the service has declined. The most common complaint is work not completed when promised or not done at all, including holding a Grand Cherokee for several days until the paperwork on a warranty claim was processed. There have been several instances of questionable and expensive repairs, e.g. replacing the valve covers on a Wrangler to fix a small oil leak and replacing the entire radiator assembly on a Grand Cherokee to fix a very small coolant leak. In the latter case they installed a defective part and the vehicle broke down on the road. We had to pay for a replacement air conditioner compressor in advance, a thing I never heard of anywhere else in 60 years of driving. Some instances may be the result of poor design, and others are probably the fault of Stellantis, which we are told does not provide checklists or training to prevent critical failures. I have concluded that it is unsafe to continue to have maintenance work done at this dealer. The loss of all the coolant fortunately didn't cause the engine to sieze, but I no longer believe their mechanics can be trusted to tighten the lug nuts after rotating the tires.
