Super Scoops serves a creamy, smooth ice cream that will satisfy your cravings on hot Florida days. I'm not sure they're quite worth all of the hype, but the ice cream was fantastic and the service was exurberant, so we'd come back if we were ever in the area. PROS: -I don't know who served us, but man, despite being the solo guy manning the shop on a Saturday, he made us feel like insanely valued customers. He was very chatty, very happy, and very friendly. He gave us a lot of information about Super Scoops, and he wasn't pressuring us to quickly make any decisions or anything. All of us agreed that he's likely one of the most friendly and welcoming employees we've ever had at an ice cream place. -Amazing portions. Two people got one scoop and neither one could finish it. I got a brownie sundae and got nowhere near finishing it. Considering how affordable their prices are (pretty decently so!), you get a great amount of ice cream. You'd have to have a huge sweet tooth (and be deathly hungry) to even manage to finish three scoops of the ice cream. -Ice cream here is very, very sweet. If you're having a craving for smooth, very-sweet treats, Super Scoops is going to meet that craving. They have a ton of different flavors - that seem to rotate in and out - but I think they had between 12-20. (I didn't count). -I'd argue that the "star" of the show at Super Scoops was the treats that go with the ice cream. The ice cream was good - maybe not the best we've ever had - but the brownies and cookies that went in the ice cream? Absolutely the best I've ever had. Very gooey and dough-y. Perfect as a compliment to ice cream in a way that other places don't do. -While the Super Scoops ice cream is definitely the focus of the business, Super Scoops also sells a whole wall of candy options. It isn't an excessive amount (the aisle at the local Target is likely much larger), but it's a very unique variety. They have retro candies in addition to rare candies you likely never see (like Mallo Cups). They have beach-themed candies and candy bars that you've likely never seen. So while you aren't going to find 3 Muskateers here, you will find a bunch of other candies you might want to try - and may have never even seen. -Dedicated parking lot with a fantastically-large amount of spots. While the building itself seems like it'd quickly get packed with customers during peak hours, I think you'd still be able to find a place to park your car. CONS: -This is definitely a small business - and in a small building. During peak hours, I imagine this place is terrifying and packed and going out the door. To be fair, though, don't be terrified if you see the line going out the door. It's a small building so very little of the line fits inside. But yeah, being outside, waiting in the heat on a busy night, would likely be frustrating for me. -While the service is friendly and the product is great, the decor and design definitely scream "small business". Some of the signs are in a bit of ill repair, and while everything is functional and clean, it definitely looks dated. read more

Very kind and fast service for our family. On vacation and stopped in here as there are many ice cream shops down this road and this by far was the best we have had all week. Why? Well, it doesnt come from a soft serve machine. It is quite delectable. Got the 2 scoop sundae. Peanut butter and choc. and mint choc. The peanut butter was hands down the best ive ever had. The fudge on the sundae was so rich it tasted like a bag of chocolate morsels melting over an oven. When we walked out we noticed a dog outside, who wasnt allowed in but because they offer ice cream of non dairy the owner of the establishment graciously offered the dog some because it wasnt allowed in. Best ice cream shop in St. Pete/ Treasure Island? Easily Super Scoops! I've been coming here for years with friends and family and they have never once disappointed. Aside from the glorious fact that this shop is only a 5 minute drive from home, Super Scoops has some of the best ice cream and service around! It's a cute little mom and pop shop with a colorful building and sign you can't miss. The moment you step inside, the scent of freshly baked waffles cones greets you like a long lost friend. Even just the smell of the shop makes you immediately hungry for ice cream and your mouth water. Because this store is family owned, the same people are working there every time we go. Without fail, they always greet us with a cheerful smile and a "Hello, how are you" or "Good to see you again!" It makes you feel as if you're part of their family too. This might be the only place I'm a true "regular" at, popping in at least once a week (or more...). Super Scoops has a wide variety of flavors, and items on the menu. They used to serve Working Cow ice cream, but now it is Amish Creamery ice cream. Still good though! They've got all the flavors: traditional ones, seasonal ones, plain ones, decadent ones, all of the above. In addition, there's a heavenly soft serve machine that pumps out some of the creamiest ice cream I've ever had. Other offerings include freshly baked Otis Spunkmeyer cookies that are dangerously good, a variety of milkshake/sundae options, and an entire wall of old fashioned candy! There really is something for everyone here. The only thing to be warned about is the lines on weekend nights. It's a pretty small store, so only about 8-10 people can be inside ordering at a time. If you see a long line out the door though, don't be discouraged as it typically moves pretty quickly. Plus, you wouldn't want to miss the opportunity to see what all the fuss about Super Scoops is about! Super scoops is family owned and operated by a lovely woman, I've been coming here for the past 8 years and she manages to recognize every customer. Their ice cream is incredible, they have about 20 or so flavors- and even though Superman ice cream is just colored vanilla, it's the best from here. They also have a whole wall of fun candies. They have specialty candies, like razzels, that you can't get in normal stores. They have great tiki tables out from for sticking around, and one of those infuriating- but beach staple- ring on a string games. This past time I got the Superman ice cream, my boyfriend got a cookies and cream milkshake which was huge and served with a boba straw so that it doesn't take an hour to drink through a small skinny one, and my brother got a giant scoop of cookie dough ice cream. They are open til 10 pm which makes it a great place for dessert, they have a ton of parking because they share a lot with a boat rental service so you'll always find a spot, and they do an awesome punch card which I was able to redeem and get my cone for free this time around! read more

The owner watched us park our car, and as we were walking up, we happened to veer toward the street a bit, to look for our friend who was lost next door. The owner was very quick to let us know that his parking lot is for his store only. I was mildly annoyed at that, but I'm sure he gets people trying to park here and walk to the beach almost every hour. Bottom line = you'll be towed if you use this lot for any reason but a trip to Super Scoops. Like almost every other beach ice cream shop, it's small. Salted caramel ice cream is lovely! Always come here at least once when we visit Florida and bring our family dog. Definitely need to visit during those hot days.
