My son came home with taquitos one night and that's all it took. We were hooked! We've been here three times so far and it never disappoints. Tonight I had the flying saucer with asada. A large puffy tostada with all the fixings. Enough for two people but I ate it myself. My son had the California burrito and awww man. Just tried this place today after seeing it come up on Yelp as a new place to try near me. I took my daughters with me for a late lunch. The guy behind the counter was very patient with us as we tried to figure out what to order because there were so many choices. Loved the variety to choose from. My teenage daughter and I shared the carne asada fries and my youngest daughter had the carne asada taco (she doesn't like guacamole ‍). Both were very good, and the portions were very generous! Together, my oldest and I could not finish the asada fries, and the taco had carne asada pouring out of it! The tortilla from my daughter's taco smelled so good, (like fresh masa), that I had to try just the tortilla and I wasn't disappointed. It tasted as good as it smelled My girls had the horchata and both loved it. It was a bit too sweet for me but still good. The service was fast, food was good, place (including the bathroom) was very clean, and the ranchero music played in the background bringing me back to the music my parents, aunts and uncles would listen to at family parties. Darla handled the order and served the food. Now the reason why I cannot and should not explain my experience at Super Sergio's is the food is so good that it tends to foster misunderstanding. I could say the obvious to all readers. I could say: "The food at Sergio's is very good. Try it sometime." However, anyone who acted on a statement like the above would feel deceived because even a phrase like "very good" understates the quality of the bean and cheese burrito at Sergio's. An alternative descriptor of Sergio's menu might read like this: "This spectacular food surpasses all expectation. It is astonishing. Better to try Sergio's fries on your plate than for me to try to put them into words." The previous statement hypes the food too much. The hypothetical reader who opts for Sergio's will begin his or her drive to the restaurant on a note of skepticism. He or she will want to test the food against the hype. Sergio's food will then exceed whatever the hype was and the skeptic could end up feeling apologetic for doubting the review or whoever told him or her to go. So, dear reader, if you do go to Sergio's, expect to form your own personal connection with the food there. Go with an open mind and an empty stomach. Unfortunately, my last couple of visits weren't that great. On my second to last visit, the food was pretty bland so I thought maybe they were just having an off day but today, again, very very bland and dry carne asada. The rice was also very bland. I think the only thing I liked on my plate was the beans. They had a little bit of flavor to them. The customer service is great but the quality of food is just not up to par any more. I went for breakfast and was not disappointed! They have so many choices for breakfast and also serve non-breakfast foods (during breakfast hours). I went with the bacon and egg breakfast burrito; it was delicious! The burritos are pretty big and I couldn't even finish mine! I got two meals for one! The food itself was delicious! They also offered salsa to go with the burrito. I appreciated that they offered outdoor seating. They are also allowing inside seating. The establishment was very clean and there was a plastic shield between the register and the customer for extra precaution. After ordering the waiter told us to wait outside and she'd bring the food to us. Overall, great experience! I'll definitely be going again to try some non-breakfast items. read more

The food is ok, the only good thing is that they're open late. My son ordered a carne asada burrito and it only had meat in the burrito, not sure why they did that. And I had asked the cashier if I can have a sample of their menudo, nothing crazy, just a little sample in a little cup that they use for salsa. And she said ok. And when she asked the cook in the back, the cook said no they don't give samples. That's unfortunate because my family and I order menudo every weekend from another restaurant but I figured if super Sergio's has good menudo, it'll be our new spot. We decided to try this place because it had good reviews and someone on the Next Door app said it was really good. I could not have been more disappointed! I ordered a carne asada burrito, expecting the usual burrito fillings. What I got was a ton of flavorless, over cooked meat, salsa and tortilla. No rice, no beans, no grilled veggies, just meat and tortilla. It was overwhelmingly boring. I tried this for the first time because everyone's been talking about it. The drive thru was pretty quick since it was early in the day. I ordered lunch special number two, 5 rolled tacos and rice. I would have liked to try chicken and beef but for some reason they charge extra to have half and half so I just got beef. That's the reason why I only gave 4 stars because it seems silly to do that. The rolled tacos were good but a little soggy by the time I got home so I would get the guac on the side next time. The red salsa was nice and spicy and the green was pretty good too. Everything tasted strongly of onions so you're not a fan of onions, you might not like this. I would go back again though and maybe try chicken next time. Update: I went back to try the chicken rolled tacos and they were awesome! I think they tasted better than the beef ones and less onion. We finally got a Mexican restaurant that does it right in Chino Hills. It's clean, fast service, delicious food and comfortable seating. Plus a drive through and open late. They have a great selection of Mexican traditional dishes to choose from. You're going to love this new mexican little treasure. The inside is bigger than it Looks and brand new. I enjoyed the Sopes combo, so tasty. I also went back and tried the tamales. I'm super picky. I loved it all. My husband tried the Chile Relleno burrito. He loved it! The food was so flavorful, it has authentic flavors and everything is homemade. No Joke! Finally a good Mexican Restaurant we can rely on when we need to get a late night food run. Customer service here was amazing, the girl taking the orders was awesome, added a star just for that. I ordered the rolled taco combo plate with chicken instead of beef, which was an additional $1. The rolled tacos weren't fried well so the middle was mushy while the edges were crispy. The crispy part was great but the taste of the corn tortilla from the mushy part was kinda funny and the chicken flavor wasn't that great. Beans and rice were pretty standard but tasted good. Baby daddy ordered the adobada (aka al pastor) burrito and paid extra to have rice and beans added since their burritos don't include that. But when the order came out, I was low key shocked by how skinny the burrito looked- no girth at all, which surprised me bc this is SoCal and thick burritos are all that exist out here. He said it was bomb tho. I also ordered an horchata and it wasn't good at all, super watered down and no cinnamon flavor. Total meal was $22, but I didn't really feel the value was there for that price point. I was born and raised in Southeast San Diego, so I've been to their National City location more than a handful of times. That place was the go to late night taco shop after a house party/bar. Living in Orange County area for +10 years there isn't a lot of taco shops that compare to San Diego taco shops. Very good food! Just opened and they have great hours. they are open from 7am-2am Thursday-Sunday and 7-midnight Monday-Wednesday. We had chicken taquitos (delicious!), tamale, and pollo asado burrito. Very reasonable prices and some great specials. They have Dr Pepper (yay) and bottled beverages like Snapple too. We drove thru, but there is a cute interior seating area and nice patio. I hope it lasts here! Everyone go try it out! read more
