It's easier to enter the plaza heading West on Garvey and it's not the easiest place to find as it has a small entry driveway. They only take cars made after 1999 as they do not have a dyno. I highly recommend Anthony and Smog city for your Smog check and some DMV needs. Went in just for a smog check and I left with my DMV sticker as well!

I've been coming here for a couple of years now with about three different cars. The first round…read morefor all three cars had no problem passing. It's a one man shop and it's not really crowded on the busiest day but steady amount of people to keep him busy throughout the day. I would have to warn you, this guy is strictly by the book. maybe a little too close to the book so let me tell you why. Yes, all my cars passed the first round. I've had my cars long enough to bring them back every two years but I started having problems with one of my cars that is older than 1995 which you get a higher price of $39.95 + certificate charge. It's $35.95 for any cars after 1995 which isn't too bad, very competitive for the price. Once my car started having problems, it had problems passing. Instead of going all the way out to Upland where all they do is hook it up and pass you just the emissions. At least that is what I figured all you have to do. This guy, he failed me like a tough English teacher didn't like your term paper. (which I wish you can turn in your Yelp review as your assignment). I had no idea what a PCV vavle and breather tube really is which he didn't have to point out or even recommend what to fix. Which I appreciate. I believe on this station, he can mark it FAILED right on the check list and that is a requirement you need to fix and come back for your free test. The part I couldn't find anywhere at the local auto parts places like PepBoys or AutoZone which they all recommended for me to go to the dealer for this specific part. That part cost me $40 before tax, fucking dealers cost. I brought the car back and he hooks up the car and tests it again. I don't remember and he doesn't remember if the "engine service rec'd soon" light was on before or after he hooked it up. There is a check mark on the process that he FAILED me on so I didn't get my smog check done. Emissions are well within requirements by the state. WTF!!! is the most appropriate response at this point. Guess what, I'm not bringing any of my cars back to this guy. I have another place I prefer to go to that doesn't hassle me this much just to get my car registration tags. I feel like I'm getting picked on for no fucking reason even though I know you're going to tell me it's great to finally have someone go strictly by the book. This guy will take your money like any other business pass or fail. Just take this as a warning but I'm sure you're an adult that can make up your own mind. If your car doesn't have any problems, all you need is 20 minutes to have this guy hook up your car for the test and you'll be on your way. I'm just going to a different place since this guy hasn't been so friendly the last three visits to me. The three stars are generous at this point.

Now fast forwarding a couple years, I brought in my 99 accord and the old man who was working there messed up my driver side door lock. Somehow he managed to push in the lock while closing the door? And it stayed stuck. When I came in, everything working fine. Handed him the keys and then I waited. When I got the car back. My driver side door wouldn't open even if the locks switch inside is in it's open position. Used Keys and keyless entries but didn't work either. Like wtf?! I told him and he said it wasn't his problem and that I just had bad luck cause he didn't cause it.... At that point I was soo pissed off. I called my trusty mechanic and he came over to check it out. He said the latch inside the door was broken, cause by being pushed in while the door was being slammed shut. Overall I had to spend about 200 for the door to get fixed.... And he didn't even apologized for breaking my door. Never coming back to this place again. In the end, this place is cheap and quick. However keep an eye on him while he works on your car or else you might end up in the same situation as me. He'll break your car and deny any accusation that it was his fault. He'll blame your car and say "not my problem."

He said $50 special since I called ahead. I got there about an hour later, and I was fourth in line. The parking is a good size, and there is some street parking. The business is right in the corner so it's easy to spot. I waited less than an hour and was out. I'll be back in two hours when I needed another smog check.

Called around 11am on a friday and asked if they can do a smog check for a 1996 vehicle. They said yes! Technician was polite and professional. Said since car is quite old there's always a chance of not passing. The whole thing took about 20 minutes and she passed! It was $65 all in which I think is a great price. I will be coming back here when my 96 or any of my other cars are due for a smog check.

It's surprising how they have lots of one star review but they have 4.4 star. The one star review complaints looks about the same, the boss unprofessional attitude.

A genuine "good morning" and "thank you" when I arrived, and another thank you when the service was done. Simple stuff, but seriously, where else do you find that anymore? They don't take reservations, so it's all walk-in. I got there around 8:35 AM with a few people already ahead of me, and I was still out by about 9:05. Pretty impressive for a walk-in smog check. The lot was clean, the office was clean, and the whole process was straightforward and painless. $60 for my 2018 Toyota 4Runner. Nice folks, quick service, fair price. I'll definitely recommend Kevin Smog to others.

My total wait time was just about 45 minutes which wasn't too bad. He currently charges $50 and prefers if you pay in cash but also accepts apple pay! The workers here are so friendly it literally feels like you're coming to visit a friend or family. The smog check is sent electronically by them so you don't have to do too much other than coming in and handing them your form.
