Only really poor service drives me to bother to write a review. I vocalized my concerns to the woman helping at the desk afterwards. People deserve to know the quality of service a business delivers. A woman named Nina cut my hair. I communicated to her clearly and exactly what I wanted done; Nina did the exact opposite. When she showed me the back of my hair, I explained to her that this was not what I had asked in the beginning. She insisted it was, which was surprising because it just honestly, clearly was not what I had asked for. Nina did a completely different hair cut and also cut far more inches ofd than I had asked. She was rough-handed and unprofessionally made remarks about how the texture of my hair grossed her out. I was genuinely surprised by the level of unprofessionalism. I don't generally go to salons for my haircuts. I usually get my haircut about once every 6 months and always go to this location. I have never had a bad experience here. The staff is very accommodating and listens to the customer. I don't request a specific stylist, so I've experienced several of them. I have yet to be unsatisfied with one of their stylists. They are willing to fix anything if you are unsatisfied with the results. The establishment is always clean and well kept. The only downfall to this location is the wait time. I have never waited less than 30 minutes. Sometimes the wait is close to 45 minutes. All in all I recommend this location. read more

Arrived at 6:35 when their posted hours indicate they close at 7, and all I was seeking was a quick trim/clean-up job on the sides & back as I continue to grow my hair out to medium length. The door is locked. There is one employee walking around inside. She saw me standing there confused, made a quick hand-wave gesture and mouthed "we're closed". I looked down at my watch, then back at her and mouthed "It's not 7". I'd hoped she might come to the door so I could explain the short turnaround plus the quick & easy sale to be made. Absolutely unprofessional. No organization whatsoever. Preferred not to even get a haircut after a old red haired stylist started giving instructions for my younger siblings ages 8 and under to wait outside in this Texas heat. Two of them had an appointment and I wasn't about to leave my little sister (6year old) in the car by herself much less allow her to wait outside alone. Specially because the location on riverside is filled with bums roaming the streets. I simply stated that I was figuring out what was going on with our appointments which had already been made an hour prior. Yet she decided to completely ignore what I said and continued to demand that they wait outside. This whole experience was unsettling and distasteful to say the least. **DO NOT GET A HAIRCUT FROM NINA** First time I ever write any sort of review. The person who butchered my hair was Nina, who has a unprofessional and Karen-like attitude. I asked her if she could do fades. I guess that triggered her cause she poked the sh*t out my ear with her clippers. I looked up at her and she apologized, then poked me again. I moved away from her and asked if she was gonna keep doing that. I also asked for a manager, but there wasn't one present. She said she didn't do anything and I was like, "what do you mean you didn't do anything? Just cut my hair please." While she proceeded to cut my hair I asked her, "what is the most common haircut people ask for?" She said a fade, which was what I asked for. After all that, she totally messed up my hair. She asked if it was good (it obviously wasn't), so I asked her to blend the fade better because the lines were obvious. I think she made it worse when she did. Horrible service.
