    I recommend Supercuts at 334 Essex Street, Lodi if you want a great haircut. I got mine cut today ( November 8th, 2018) by Stephanie. Friendly personnel. Great for women, men and children.

    Severe chemical damage to my daughter's hair--zero accountability…read more My daughter went to Mavida Salon 93 South Main St. Lodi New Jersey July 6,2026 at 11am for hair color and FULL head of highlights. She booked the appointment with THE OWNER of the salon Cheryl whom i personally spoke with on the phone the night before. She assured me that she would be the one taking my daughter as a client and she did! She also said it's CASH ONLY. My daughter has shoulder length hair, the COLOR price was $50.00, FULL HIGHLIGHTS $150.00 the total was $200.00 with a 20% tip of $40.00. Making the Total of this appointment $240.00 that my daughter paid cash to Cheryl at the end of this incomplete service. Cheryl did not blow dry her hair, she was to busy (obviously overbooked) so my daughter left the salon with wet hair. Cheryl obviously knowing the damage that was done when she had her at the sink as she was shampooing the chemicals and taking the foils out of her hair. Unfortunately, the service resulted in severe chemical breakage, uneven color tone, and very sloppy and unprofessional partial highlights (we booked FULL highlights) and severe irritation on her scalp. Her hair is now extremely brittle and breaking due to the over, processing time by being left UNDER THE DRYER with the bleach and color chemicals on her scalp and hair as she worked on other clients. My daughter continuously asking Cheryl to check her color and highlights and Cheryl kept telling her she's not done yet without even checking a foil. The other workers and clients were observing what was going on, they witnessed the intentional act but said nothing. However, they did make eye gestures to my daughter as if they couldn't understand why Cheryl was not checking her hair. My daughter had chemicals on her head from 11:45 AM until 2 PM. When I called the owner Cheryl to discuss what happened that evening she was dismissive and refused to acknowledge HER error. We trusted this business with my daughter's hair, and instead, it was completely destroyed. A professional salon should know how to safely manage HAIR health. The lack of skill and care shown by the owner herself is completely unacceptable. This was supposed to be a pleasant day for my daughter as a gift from me to her, and it turned out to be a disaster and a very bad experience.

This most recent appt she did partial highlights with clear glaze and my color has never looked better! For reference- my hair is naturally medium brown this time of year. Natasha really listens to what you want and nails it every time. She's also super sweet! Valentina cut my hair and also did an incredible job!     Don't trust this salon, especially Kim. I wanted to get a blow out and found this salon and decided…read moreto try it out. I came for a small trim with a refresh on my layers. I explained to the stylist Kim that I wanted just the split ends cut and my layers even out. I reminded her before and after I was shampooed and after she started cutting. Kim was very unorganized and seemed to struggle working with my hair that was "so long and thick" I asked if she was capable of doing what I asked for. She said it was a simple cut and would take 15 minutes. She then claimed that she couldn't see because my hair was so long and needed me to stand up so she could cut my hair. She kept me away from the mirror and just saying my previous haircut was so bad, and that she was gonna fix it. I trusted her. I should not have. She cut at least 9 inches of hair off, and thinned my hair til it was unrecognizable. I don't understand how this could even happen. I showed her an inspiration picture, along with multiple other stylists and they said it was totally achievable. not sure why Kim kept cutting after I told her repeatedly for a trim, and how much I liked the length of my hair. I had pre paid, but I tipped anyway. I left the appointment in shock. PLEASE be careful when booking. I don't want someone else loosing 2+ years of hair growth due to negligence. A professional and qualified hairdresser should listen to the clients wishes. and be honest if they do not have the ability to do the cut.
