I've been a Super Cuts customer for several years as it is a convenient location and the staff is very friendly and pleasant. My favorite stylist is Nilda who I've known for over the past years, I told her the layer trim I prefer and she does an great job, just the way I like it which is the reason I use this location when she is there. Since then I try to check and call if she is available that day and arrange an appt. She knows my preferences and she starts her way without any questions. We have nice friendly chats without distracting her. The trim is done rather neatly and quick does offers a hot towel wipe. I usually schedule an appt. every month or so and continue to use her services as long as she is working that day. She does such a nice cut and trim and I am always pleased with her service. I came in Saturday to get a special occasion hair style which came out nice after having some difficulties getting the desired style. The hair stylist who was serving me was very sweet and took 3 hours to work on my hair since the big curls would not hold even after hair spray. She took the time to re do it but with smaller curls and then brushed them out to give me waves. The next morning when I woke up I smelled a familiar odor which took me a while to realize that it was burnt hair and is still present a day later. My regular Supercuts closed down so I was hard pressed to find another salon where the hair stylist took pride in their work, listened to you and gave you a nice cut-not just another cookie cutter cut. I was desperate so one day I took a chance At the Essex St location going with 'The next available' which turned out to be Angela. She was fabulous! Not only listened but wanted to please-went so far as to give me her card with the hours/days she worked which was very helpful. I went and was extremely dissatisfied. She told me to "trust her" and "look down". I blindly did. Then, as I looked up from my lap onto the floor, I saw several pieces of hair way longer than just a few inches like she said it would be. She told me she would only cut one to two inches off maximum but ended up cutting off almost 6 inches of regrow the since my LAST horrible haircut at a different location. Not only was I upset over not getting the haircut I wanted, but I had to relive the trauma of getting all of my hair chopped off from the year before. After the whole thing was over, I was stunned and speechless. I gave her my money and reluctantly left despite knowing even if I tried my hardest, she would not be able to fix it. The next day, I went to the Elmwood Park location Of Supercuts and they had great customer service, and despite the fact that they couldn't fix it, at least they did try their hardest to remedy the mistake the lodi location had made. To make the whole thing even worse, she said "your hair will grow back into exactly what you wanted". And this is not what I wanted! I wanted something NOW that I wanted! Thank you very much! I have a wedding in two months and my hair simply will not grow fast enough for the pictures to turn out satisfactorily. I even suggested I wear a wig to the wedding to cover it up but compromised with extensions. I am never going back to this location again. The stylist, although having proper profession ediquette, should be fired, and should know better! I am a cosmetology student myself and I am horrified and I could probably do a better job with a blindfold on and having one hand tied behind my back with a hacksaw. And by the way, this is the stuff of nightmares. read more

This salon never charges you the same price twice (for anything other than a haircut). One day I got color and it was $14.............a few months later? $25!!!! This was after having a five year relationship with the same stylist! The online check in is worthless because the stylists don't check it. I usually go to the dominican salons but you usually wait 5 hours and that is no longer an option. Im a new mom so simple and fast is a priority. I walked in for a trim and blow dry. I was taken right away. The wash and trim went great. The girl tried to sell some products but i very kindly declined. When it came down to the blow dry it was a disaster. Idk if I was no longer worth the effort but the lady took 10 minutes tops to blow dry. I thought to myself theres no way shes going to let me walk out of here with this hair. Sure enough, she did. She asked me if it looked better? I blankly stared at pieces of my hair that were never even blowdryed. I paid 42$ essentially for the trim. Idk if she was having a bad day or I just was no longer worth the sale when i declined all the extra stuff? Looked at her LIC shes had one since 2015, how? Never going back. LAZY job. I didnt have the energy to argue. I now have to use that energy to blow dry my own hair the correct way. Extremely dissapointed. I didnt know cheap also equalled lazy. Also, i should of taken the fact that no stylists had there hair presentable except for maybe 1 as a clue! BEWARE. read more

I am very happy with Supercuts. The salon is clean, I don't have to wait very long even if I don't call in my name. I am not able to use a regular hairdresser. No matter who I use I get a great haircut. But you can go if you find someone you like and use her regularly. I also like it because bit isn't far from where I live. read more
