The place can be a bit hit or miss depending on the stylist you get, however, I've had more hits then misses in my year or so of going to them. That being said, Paul B's story about the credit card machine rings true based on my last trip. They told me the credit card machine was down, but I had cash so no biggie. Meanwhile, someone else walked in that didn't have cash and I hear on of the stylist say "well, I won't turn her away" and the machine seemed to be back up again. Honestly, I should have paid by card at that point, but used all the cash I had in my wallet, limiting my tip - which while making me feel bad, probably wasn't an issue if they are pocketing some of the cash. I will say the price for my haircut, which is the same every time, seems to vary every time I go in. Last time it was $25 (cash), which while fair, was up from $24 less than 2 months prior [up from $20 5 months prior]. It was $23 at one point in between. Weird, but still reasonable imo. read more

I got a haircut by Bexx today. This is the BEST hair cut I've had to date! I got home and looked in the mirror and I really saw what a great job she did! I'm so happy with my cut!! I was letting my hair grow out and did not like that it was falling in my face, so I decided to go in today to get it short. ID GIVE 0 IF I COULD. My super pregnant wife waited 20 minutes for a stylist. When she finally got one the stylist was rude and tried to cut my 1.5 year old sons hair without her. My wife explained she needed to sit with him. My wife ended up sitting with him but the stylist didn't start the haircut and just stared at them. When my wife inquired what was happening the stylist refused my son service. My son was not screaming and my wife was there to console him even if he started to. This stylists name was Tee (sp?) and she seemed to hate children and was especially rude to my wife. This kind of business has no place in our Roxborough community and I'd assume the Supercuts owner would be outraged and if he/ she is not then they have horrible hiring practices, standards of customer treatment, and overall business sense. UPDATE: The owner replied and offered our son a free haircut. We returned and, I believe her name was, Marena cut or sons hair with no issues even when he was crying. She was pleasant and professional. I appreciate that the business reached out to remediate and that there are other stylists who value the customers. read more

Multiple times i have explained that i do not have cash and then miraculously the credit card machine works again. Just walked in a moment ago and surprise surprise the machine is down again. I had the worse experience October 22nd at this locations. I came in for partial blond high lights. The young women was very nice but some how Managed to make them three different colors and blotchy. I told her while there and she tried to rub toner on it. $125 and she didn't know how to do high lights clearly. Today, I went into Supercuts for a trim. The only available stylist was Katie...she was blonde and had tattoos, and was not friendly. I told her I only wanted "the minimum amount of hair" off. SHE TOOK ABOUT 6 INCHES OFF. I am absolutely horrified. Also, it did not seem like she knew what she was doing which made me nervous the whole time. I will never go back to this Supercuts in my life. Usually I try to go to generic hair salons to save money on trims and high end salons for highlights. From now on I'm sticking to high end salons for both trims and highlights. read more

And they basically lied and said there was a 3.5 hour wait when there was only two people there and three stylists there. And not that many people checked In. My sister went to this location last week and walked out with a pretty cute haircut. She said it look longer than normal for a trim, but it was worth it. I went in to get a single process hair dye done. My roots were growing out and the color was faded so I needed an update. It was slow so I was seated with Helene almost immediately. I only know her name because someone said her name later. Around 12:45 she started putting in the color. I'm not much of a talker when I don't have my glasses on (weird I know) and my lack of conversation seemed to make my hair dresser uncomfortable. It felt like the appointment was going slowly, but I did not realize how long it was taking until I texted someone that she had just finished putting in the color and I had to sit for another half hour at 1:36. It took her almost an hour to apply the color to my shortish hair. By the time she washed it out I was so ready to leave. I had been there for almost 2 hours by the time it was all said and done. In the end there was still a bunch of dye on my face, and the color isn't my favorite. Turns out I had the same person my sister did. I waited a day to wash my hair when normally I would wait 2 because my scalp felt really irritated in places, and it was a little difficult to brush with my hair being a weird texture. I started by rinsing my hair with cool water and the amount of color that rinsed out was horrifying. I had my hair dyed red, so you can imagine what my shower looked like. The reason I gave 3 stars is because I had a ton of time to listen in to the people who were working around her, and they were all super kind, fun, quick and all their clients seemed happy when they left. They gave helpful tip and tricks to their clients, and the one who worked with a young girl melted my heart with how gentle she was. read more

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I can't believe I make the mistake of returning to this place again and again. It's quite frustrating. The name of this place should be re-labeled to Hit or Miss. I figured, hey it's Sue. She did a pretty good job on my hair last time. Nope. She spent way less attention to detail to my back like the last two times I got a cut from her. Maybe it was because it was an hour before closing time, I'm not sure. I told her, like I tell everyone who cuts my hair to leave the top long (at least a fingerlength) which she readily acknowledged at the start of the haircut. However, she just kept snipping quickly and by the time I realized, it was too late. If I pull with the tips of my fingers, maybe I can get a cm of hair from my scalp. Seriously. Additionally, it takes a while for me to grow my hair back. There's a certain trust you give to a person to let them cut your hair. When they royally screw up time and again, they should lose that privilege. The last thing I want to do after a long day of work when I'm tired is scrutinize my barber's work in real time and stop them every other minute to make sure they're doing what they're supposed to be. If anything, it is the barber who should stop and ask "is this too long, should I cut some more?" This NEVER happens at Supercuts. People only go to this place because it's convenient, quick and easy. But at $18 it's clearly not worth it. I would rather spend much more and get a decent haircut so I'm taking my money elsewhere from now on . I will be searching for a new place on Yelp and elsewhere. Terrible customer service. Checked in online for a haircut at 11:30. I show up at 11:25, all stylists are with customers and there are 2 other people waiting so I take a seat. No big deal, I'm early and they are busy. At 11:40 a man and his son walk in while all the stylists are still busy and the man announces "I signed in online for 11:30". Ok no big deal, obviously I was here first but no need for me to interrupt all the busy workers. So then a seat up opens up for a haircut and this walks his son over there and the starts getting a haircut. Well, at least I'll be the next person to get a haircut. Then while another stylist was finishing the man announces, "I also had an 11:30 checkin so I'm next". Not wanting to get in argument with this guy I assume the employees will check the computer, ask if I was there first, or do something to double check if he was next. Nope. He gets his haircut next. I finally get my haircut at 12:15. I mention at the end to the stylist while paying, "Hey just to let you know I also checked in at 11:30 like those two, and i was here 15 min before them". All I wanted was an apology. Even a stereotypical customer service apology like "I'm sorry for the inconvenience sir." But no. Nothing. So I said "I just didn't want to be rude and interrupt you guys when I walked in, and I figured my online sign in would put me in the computer". To which she responded, "Well that's the way you have to do it." Oh really? So every customer should come in and announce when they signed in and that they are next? And still no apology. Long story short, apparently moving to the back of the line was my fault for checking in online, showing up early, and then being polite when I showed up. read more

I hadn't had my hair cut since I moved to Philly (1.5 years) and I wasn't really sure as to where to go. I often pass Supercuts and decided to give them a try. The place was clean and they took me right away as a walk in. My hair was cut by Kiyafah and she did a great job. She got all of my dead ends off and put in long layers for the split ends. I would definitely go back and get it cut again, especially for $16 a cut. read more

I went to Supercuts back home and never left truly happy. Today I went and my hair looks amazing. I wanted more noticeable layers while keeping the length and my stylist Tanisha did just that. They usually never keep the length even when I say to but today she did an amazing job. I will definitely be coming back and trying to have her cut my hair again.
