I got scammed out of my deposit. I'll be happy to update my review if they do the right thing and refund my deposit. On 2/9 I requested an appointment for 2/16 online. I had to pay a $20 deposit for the appointment which I didn't mind, but the appointment was changed without my knowledge to an impossible time to keep. The confirmation text I received said my appointment was moved to 2/9 (same day I scheduled it) at 11:41pm. I didn't take notice of the date because I was on my honeymoon last week and read the text and email incorrectly. I skimmed it and assumed it was just a time change to 11:41am instead of 11:30 as I requested, which would have been fine so I put it aside. I just went to go check my appointment for this week on 2/16 and it saw it was cancelled. I thought, oh right they changed the time, let me click on the updated appointment. When I did it said the appointment passed. This is when I pieced it together. I'm sorry but that's a terrible way to do business. If you are so good as to require a deposit, you need to get your appointment system straight. Look at this mess of texts and emails. And there were more emails at the top of that screenshot that didn't fit. I love this place! They have a sign that speaks volumes. It says "Enter as strangers leave as friends". I think it's indicative of the nail technicians, the awesome receptionist Shelby and the owner who I most recently met. Yep this is my umteenth visit and I'm already a loyal client. These ladies are professional, funny and down to earth. If you want to be appreciated for your patronage this is the place for you. Some places take you for granted and I doubt that'll happen here. My first reason. Today is Chinese New Year and there are two technicians who came in along with the receptionist when they didn't have to. True they're making money but more importantly they're taking care of their clients, seasoned and novice. I know I'm thankful I found a nail home. I made a last minute appointment during my most recent visit. I chose Vicky to do my gel nails knowing she was the owner. I thought this will be a great experience, in my mind the owner is the expert. I was not disappointed, she cut my cuticle to perfection, literally. My manicure was envious and it was on me lol. Seriously I love my nails and I have to say she was sweet, polite and professional. Come here for the ultimate nail experience and have a glass of wine during the process. I had such a great experience at Mingle Nail lounge. My nails and feet were a mess, having had tried my hand at being resourceful and doing my own mani-pedis at home. I quickly learned after a couple of months of struggle that there is a reason why pros exist to keep us looking pretty and polished. The pedi was amazing and my feet are baby soft. I work in the service industry and am prone to calluses and they did some type of magical foot wrap during the pedi that restored my whole life. The gel mani was top notch. I had grown tired of shelling out money just to leave the salon knowing that it would be a matter of days before I'd experience chipping and peeling. Not so with Mingle. My nails are perfectly cured with just the right amount of coats and thickness. I can't remember the brand they use but I found it to be a better finish and consistency than the typical brands found in most salons and I think what made the difference. They also recommended something called structure nails if you want hard, long lasting nails without the length of the acrylic but I'm so happy with the gel that I may not even need to try it although it did look beautiful. The cost for the deluxe spa gel pedi and gel mani was $100 and it was well worth it for the time and care they put into my poor little peeling and chipping nails and failed at home foot peel. If you like acrylic. the work I saw them do there looked beautiful and I was tempted to get a set while there but they were booked for the extra time it would require. I noticed beautiful and unique shades of glitter that lined the shelves and look forward to testing out their creative skills next time I have a special occasion. I never got the chance to get my nails done. I walked in and they said they had a slot available at 2pm, it was 1pm at the time so I didn't mind waiting. They called me while I was strolling down Main Street to tell me they have to push my appointment back to 4pm for another client. I understand trying to please your returning clients but that's not a good idea if you're trying to gain new ones. At this point, I'm headed to another salon. I get ANOTHER call from them saying the plans have changed and I can still come in at 2. I told the lady "it's okay I'm currently getting a pedicure at another salon." First time here. Stopped by because it was on my way home and i heard good things about this place. My nail tech was friendly. Attentive. Pricey compared to other salons. I didnt give it 5 stars because my entire polish lifted off my nails as soon as i got home!!! Smh Update: 2 days later... i went back and they fixed the liquid gel on the one nail BUT... the liquid gel/tip on the OTHER HAND has come off!!! Listen, by no means do i work with my hands (dishes,etc). In fact, my fiancé has done all the dishes (and all work that requires getting your hands dirty). I DID however, carry some grocery bags into the house. BUT THERES NO REASON WHY THE $66 GEL MANICURE BROKE (again) WITHIN THESE LAST TWO DAYS!!! C'mon now!!! I followed Mingle Nail Lounge on Instagram for a while before deciding to book! They seemed to have a lot of happy customers so that is what initially drew me in amongst the midst of nail salons in the small strip that is Main Street Manayunk. My husband and I came in for a maní and pedí. The pedicure was one of the most thorough ones I've gotten. However I picked out a regular polish and the nail tech changed it to a gel polish of a similar color. When I mentioned I wanted regular polish on my toes she said that because of COVID they weren't doing that. It sounded strange to me because...can you get COVID on your toes? I was confused but for the sake of time decided to not argue it. For my manicure, the same nail tech just asked what kind of color I wanted. I told her "neutral pink" but again confused why I couldn't see some swatches to avoid confusion. She then selected a color that did not look like "neutral pink" to me (totally fine since obviously we each interpret colors differently!). After I mentioned it she opened up a few bottles until I found one I liked but again I don't know why they didn't show me some swatches. To add to it the manicure was rather rough. When cutting my cuticles she accidentally cut my skin and made me bleed. Again, mistakes happen but she didn't apologize or say anything about it. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience but I paid (and tipped) way too much for the quality of service I received. The polish lasted for a long time so I'll give them that! After two hours at Mingle, I walked out with a pretty mediocre gel manicure and pedicure. The nail technician actually hurt me somewhat, hacking away at my cuticles and tearing them off (OW). Definitely not worth it for the price. I had wanted a design on my nails, but I gave up on that when it took them two hours just to do a basic paint job. But THEN, a few days later, the nail beds of a few of my nails (both on fingers and toes) were red, swollen, and hurt to touch. A crummy polish job is one thing, but INFECTIONS??? Ick. Six days after my appointment, I had to remove the gel manicure so that I could apply the medicine my doc gave me. I am completely disgusted by this place. After infecting three of my nails, I will never, ever, ever be returning. Totally overpriced for a bad and painful mani-pedi, AND they must not clean their tools properly. Been coming here for years and was always used to the very best service and results, but after today I will not be back. The receptionist was visibly annoyed and rolled her eyes when I let her know I wouldn't be able to keep my pedicure, but was still getting a full set and wax. I waited about 25 minutes for my technician (not her fault), but when my manicure finally began it felt as though she would have rather been anywhere but there doing my nails--she was sighing, resting her head on her arm like she was about to fall asleep during the 30 seconds my hand would go into the gel polish machine, and honestly doing a completely half-assed job as far as the shape of the acrylics, which were supposed to be rounded at the tips but came out completely wide and not flush with my cuticles. On top of all that, I had gotten nail polish on my One hand from accidentally dropping a bottle of it (my fault but I was very apologetic), and my technician looked right at the polish on my hands and just left my fingers purple with polish. (Can be seen on cuticle in first photo) I would have asked for her to fix my nails and clean my hand but she clearly didn't care and couldn't wait for me to leave so I saved my breath and just decided to find another salon. A very disappointing and upsetting experience since this was a treat to myself after not being able to afford a full set for a while and the entire time I felt uncomfortable and like some sort of nuisance instead of a paying customer with an appointment. They have a vast amount of colors and charms that you can choose from - literally anything you could ever want! Service here is unlike any other. At Mingle Nail Lounge they take pride in asking about your day and what's new in your life. I been coming here all summer and I probably heard them speak a different language twice. It was clean, played good music and the prices are very affordable! I got a pedicure, a refill and reshaping on my acrylic nails all for $45! Can't beat that! This was my fourth time at mingle nail lounge ( the first time it was called Autumn Nails and they were underway switching management). Anyway when I go I usually get my eyebrows waxed, a pedicure and a full set in acrylic. I have only gotten my eyebrows done there once but it made me break out! It made my friends break out as well. The wax they use is bright pink, which to me isn't normal.. I'm used to the clear or honey looking wax. Maybe it's the color that has something to do with our skins' bad reaction. As far as nails, every time I go I receive a different technician. The best one by far has been the one who did speak any English, unfortunately I couldn't understand her name to ask for her again.. But she is the manager. This most recent time I went which was February 22 the technician I got was a new one.....Everything went normal, no problem, same as always during the process. But then a week later my nails were tingling. I tried to ignore it but then it started to hurt. Underneath my nail started to become very sensitive. I though to remove the nail polish so I could get a closer look. Once I did that I could see the damage. My real nails, underneath the acrylic were in HORRIBLE condition. I went to my doctor for the pain and she said that my nails were LIFTING off of the nails bed due to the faulty acrylic application. The medical term for this is called Onycholysis. She says now I have to get the nails completely removed and wear plastic gloves all the time for protection. Despite Mingle's friendly staff, many nail polish choices and free drinks.. I WILL NOT BE RISKING MY HEALTH to get services done by them. I am extremely disappointed by this experience and will be reaching out to management to let them know and will post an update. read more

I've been to this nail salon twice now, but the second time was such a turn off that I will never be returning to this place again. Overall, the salon is very clean and aesthetically pleasing, and the girls do a very thorough job with manicures and pedicures. On my last visit however, the girl who did my pedicure had such an off-putting attitude that I couldn't wait to leave -- it was such a high-tension filled experience! I called a couple days ahead to make an appointment, and as my mother and I were traveling over an hour to go to this salon for my graduation, we encountered traffic going into the city. About an hour before the appointment I called to let the girls know that we would be about ten minutes late...the girl on the phone was so nice and understanding and said it would be absolutely no issue. We were indeed ten minutes late for our appointment, but it was initially no problem. About 15 minutes into the pedicures however though, the girl looks up at us and snobbily explains that the salon is very busy, and that if we are going to be late that we would need to call ahead. Shocked, we apologetically explained the situation and how we called ahead and Kayla said it would be no issue. She proceeded to roll her eyes and say how she was unaware of this. She made the rest of the pedicure SO AWKWARD for NO REASON!!!! Unfortunately it was a very bad experience for my mother and I on my graduation day, and the girl seemed to be in such a tiff that she wasn't really paying attention to what she was doing. She took off WAY too much skin from the bottom of my feet with the electric sander...it hurt to walk for the next 3 days. She so aggressively ripped off my cuticles, they are still sore. TIP: I actually thought the place looked nice enough as it was, but it's worth noting that if you happen to think it needs an upgrade... it's getting one. "Mingle" indeed - I would hang out here all day if I could. I moved to the hotbed of sin and depravity that is Philadelphia a few months ago, and my nails had become a casualty of relocation - broken edges, uneven lengths, hangnails, etc. No matter how smart my clothes or how stylish my hairstyle, my hands always betrayed my plebeian status at first glance. To hide my shame and better blend in with the sophisticated urbanites around me, I searched out the perfect gel manicure facility in Philadelphia, but my first two attempts were fruitless. Finally I scheduled a gel manicure at Mingle with Mai Le, who I can only assume is some sort of cuticle wizard after what she did to my nails. It's been almost 3 weeks since I visited her (19 days), and my gel manicure has only JUST begun to chip. Normally the shelf-life for a gel mani is anywhere from 10 days - 2 weeks, but 3 weeks is just sheer absurdity. In addition to an excellent manicure, Mingle also offers the perfect atmosphere to de-stress and relax for a hot minute. The staff members are unbelievably friendly, and I was offered a glass of wine as soon as I walked in (which I would have accepted had it not been 9:30 in the morning). However this style wasn't something that the nail stylist knew how to do exactly, but they still tried their best to do our nails. Our nails didn't turn out the best or looked professionally done. The nail stylist were really nice in the beginning but then over the course of my stay they became less friendly. This place is better for if you want designs or glitter on your nails. I would say, this place doesn't keep up with newest nail trends (such as gradient nails or glass nails) but they are darn good at doing the normal stuff. read more

Booked a mani/pedi and eyebrow wax on a Friday in preparation for a cruise, and was initially pleased with the results. The service itself was ok. The person taking care of me was quiet, and didn't talk much. The other techs were chatty not just with the folks they were taking care of, but with everyone in the shop. Some might find that annoying, but it honestly felt comfortable, as if we were all friends. None of the others seemed to mind either. After I got home, I realized that there was quite a bit of nail polish on the cuticles on my hands. I was mad I hadn't noticed that in the shop because I'm sure it would have been taken care of without any issues. Disappointed, I checked my toes out more closely and saw that there was polish smudges around half of the nails. I could have done that kind of job myself! I asked my tech before finishing how long the polish should last. I was hoping for a week, but was surprised when she said 3 weeks. Even if it only lasted half that long, I'd be happy. I'm sad to say that the manicure didn't last 4 days before it started to chip. I was shocked - there I was on a cruise ship, lounging on various sun decks, reading, and sipping the occasional rum punch. My at-home manicures would've lasted through that - and more. Where the polish had covered the cuticles before separated, and chips and cracks appeared by Tuesday. The pedicure fared a little better - and I didn't expect that! While I did spend most of the cruise wearing flip flops or no shoes, I did wear sneakers when working out and closed toed pumps on the formal dining nights. It was until a week after the pedicure that I noticed a small chip on one toe. The eyebrow wax seemed good until I got home and noticed 10 or so stray brow hairs smack dab in the middle of my eyebrows. I guess the shape was the priority? I easily cleaned up the stray hairs at home. I don't know if the waxing wasn't as thorough as it could've been because it was done right on the floor (someone was occupying the waxing room), but it did feel very cookie cutter-ish. I've had other brow wax jobs where the tech had asked about what shape I want. That didn't happen here. I don't know if the manicure was just a fluke, and I'm willing to give Mingle another chance just because everyone was so nice and friendly. I admit - I was a bit put off by the clunky, online appointment process, and some of the reviews were pretty uninspiring. I couldn't get an appointment where I normally go, so I gave Mingle a shot for my refill. Man, am I glad I did! The staff is extraordinarily friendly! I was on time for my very early Saturday morning appointment, and while my technician was running late, another tech got me started - which was great. I keep my nails pretty basic - acrylic refill, gel polish, no design, almond shape. I don't like them to look extreme, but I also don't want them to be boring. My nails are pretty much perfect. The grow out has been extremely easy, too - I could probably squeak by for another full week (so 3+ weeks between) without a refill. Took a star off because they're not cheap. They're not expensive, but they're the highest price I've paid in Manayunk / Philly. It's worth it, but if you're very budget conscious, this might not be the right place for an in-depth service. read more

Getting my nails done is one of my least favorite items on my to-do list... but certainly not at the Mingle Nail Jungle! The team is welcoming, talented and hilarious. I stumbled across Mingle about a year ago when I was in desperate need of an acrylic fill. They welcomed me with a glass of wine (or 3) and ended up replacing my whole set to ensure they lasted me. And they did! They were gorgeous, surprisingly inexpensive, and lasted me almost four weeks. I was in the salon for about 2 hours and had a six pack of abs by the time I walked out from laughing with the girls. Since then, I've driven back to Philadelphia from Northern Jersey three times to get my nails done and have referred countless friends who have also fallen in love with this Manayunk salon. read more

Autumn Nails and Spa was a great place - I went there as a walk in for a gel manicure. They have tons of color options and it only cost $25, which is really reasonable to the area. Very clean, friendly service and manicure was done to perfection! read more

After vowing to never return I've spent the past few months patronizing other nail shops in search of the same quality as I was used to at this shop...it wasn't happening so today I decided to return in hopes that attitudes had been adjusted to match the nail quality.
