I've been going to Christie's for a while because of one particularly talented acrylic nail artist (not Christie) and it's the only reason I go. But it's got to be too much, Christie is extraordinarily rude and her staff is afraid of her, she also encourages them to gossip about you and it's really shocking things they say right in front of you, the culture is rather toxic, but of course if you don't speak Vietnamese, you would never know! the only reason I found out is one of the Nale Tax revealed it to me. Of course Christie can be very charming, why do you think she's been in business for so long? she definitely plays favorites. So if you're looking to be treated well, go in there an audition for her; be super charming and play the game. But if that is too much for you to do and I don't blame you, then you should consider taking your business elsewhere, there are so many other excellent salons which have cropped up, I would avoid this place. We visited on Labor Day called for an appointment the day before wanted to 10 o'clock, which was not available they guaranteed I sent 11 o'clock start. Got there, seemed very busy. Waited 15 minutes beyond our slated time seemed very understaffed and rushed we left.!! read more

I would only recommend going here if you can't book an appointment anywhere. They don't do appointments so it's good if you need your nails done last minute. The wait time is completely unpredictable, though. I had almost no wait but more and more people filed in after me and no matter how many people were in line, everyone was told that their appointment would start "soon." The gel manicure I got here looked really good..for 5 days until it started peeling off. Yes only FIVE days. I went back on the 5th day to get the problem nail redone. They were nice about it and re-did it but another nail started peeling right when I went home. By the 7th day, my nails were a mess and I had to remove the gel manicure. The pedicure looked great and lasted about as long as it could last. Not sure if the gel manicure I got was just bad luck but I probably wouldn't go here again unless I'm really desperate. The place is chaotic and the nail technicians rush--because the line of people waiting is long and the estimate they give you on when they'll be done isn't realistic. Definitely none of that spa-like experience you get at other salons for the same price. read more

I've struggled with brittle, short nails for as long as I can remember, but ever since I started visiting Christy's Nail Salon about a year ago, Nick and his team have worked wonders. Thanks to Nick's expertise, my nails have been transformed into the healthiest and most beautiful they've ever been! Despite having a tip on one nail, the rest are all-natural!. The cherry red color is my absolute favorite. One of the best aspects of my visits is that I can get both my hands and toes done simultaneously, and I'm in and out within an hour, making it super convenient for me. Plus, the results last for a solid three weeks with powder, and sometimes even longer if my nail beds don't show as they grow out. i have been going here for almost a year and have always had pretty good experiences, unfortunately about a week and a half ago i went to get a mani pedi and had a honestly horrible time. I usually don't go to a specific artist so i was open to anyone doing my nails. This time i noticed the woman doing my pedicure was doing everything out of order, along with that, she was removing my gel entirely wrong, using a cuticle pusher to scrape the gel off instead of just letting it sit in the acetone. Along with that, i had acrylic on one of my toes and her method of removing that was taking a cuticle cutter and peeling off the layers of acrylic. When it came to my nails i had an even worse experience, The employee doing them did not listen to my request to make them round and continued to file off the sides of my natural nails making a sharp almond shape, the second time i politely requested them to be "a bit more round please" and i was met with "well im not done yet" so i had patience and when it came almost time for my nails to be done she made them even more sharp and i found myself tensing my hands out of habit and immediately she dropped her tools and very rudely said "i can't do your nails if you do that!!" i apologized and explained it was just out of habit and by the end my nails were only filed down more on the sides and when again politely requesting to make them more round she began to file them the same way, rush the rest of the process and due to the fact that i got dip powder she had to use the thin file under my nails to clean the residue. She was rushing so much that she cut underneath 4 of my nails causing me to bleed and jump at one, no apology. I thanked her at the end and she walked away without cuticle oil or lotion. Unfortunately it does not end there, when it was time to check out i had the same employee who did my finger nails. I usually always give a tip but this time i didn't feel comfortable doing so but i always remained polite and thankful throughout the session. When i asked her what the total was she snapped and said you have to give me a second. I said no problem and the total was around $97 (which i believe i was overcharged) , i handed her my card without mentioning a tip and she says "would you like to put the tip on the card?" and i felt trapped so i said sure and for $5 and she says "for both of us right?" again, felt trapped and just caved and said yes so i payed, said thank you have a good day and no response. so sad because i really had good experiences here until this one left a sour taste in my mouth :( read more

I got a chrome gel manicure and I have to say it looks really bad. The tech went way too deep with the cuticle cutter on many of my fingers, they barely filed my nails, there's gaps on the sides of my nails where they missed the polish, dents in the polish, and for some reason she did 7 layers of polish all together. They look so thick and uneven. I will not be returning and wouldn't recommend. read more

The space is social-distance friendly, airy and staff is nice. They also have a great selection of colors. If you have time to wait, it's good. If you are on a schedule be aware that you should expect to wait at least 20 minutes (they have never taken me at the time they said). Today I waited. 35 min even with an appointment. I've been coming here for quite sometime. At first I went to different ppl until I found my nail tech (Tina) that does just what I ask for. Eric or Hanna give me Pedicures who fix my big toe nbc I break it every other month. The staff is very nice and we have great laughs together. I liked when Christie was there too but since Tina took over it's more personable. When the storm messed up the shop I hung in there with them even when others walked away. I had confidence in Tina to make the place great again. Since the move the new salon is gorgeous and very spacious. I recommend you come to this salon to get a great experience. I called at 12:16 to book appointment and they said they I can come. I swear, when I walked in, no joke Then they saw me and said:"You have an appointment? When did you make it? What time? tldr: if you want to waste $40 for a bad manicure with a color you didn't want, some wounds, and uneven nail lengths, this is the place for you. I got in on a walk in. That was the only good aspect. The woman who did my nails was walking around barefoot. I got a dip powder manicure. I chose my color, she said "what about this one instead?" and I immediately said "no. I would like my original color." Unfortunately I didn't notice that she decided to give me the other color until it was too late. I also asked her to keep my length. She said "ok." Then proceeded to shave my nails almost all the way down. They're not equal lengths. She also let multiple small cuts on my cuticles from being too aggressive with it, digging her own nail into my cuticle beds multiple times. So now I'm left me a manicure with a color that I absolutely did not want, with uneven lengths, and cuts all over my hands. read more

So I waited until I came here a few times before I wrote a review. I have gotten gel manicure from here, acrylic, a dip powder. I have never gotten a pedicure from here. The one girl here is very friendly soon as you walk in ( I forget her name!). But I have some issues with this place...for one, every time I have come here Im in pain somehow. Meaning, while buffering my nails they either buffer skin off or buffer so low and hit into my nail bed. Ouch! I got dip powder last week and the woman doing my nails was rushing. She hurt my fingers a few times and also my nails are super uneven in the length (my one thumb is way shorter than all my other nails). My other thumb nail broke off yesterday! How? I put my hand in my coat and all the sudden I realized it came off.....The nails themselves are not a smooth even surface. And dip powder here costs about $50. I also observed a girl getting a pedicure and literally wincing in pain...I was like WTH. I will no longer come here for anything, which is sad because I live so close. read more

Stopped in today to get a refill on my gel nails and a pedicure. They told me to come right away and got me right in. The salon is super small and feels claustrophobic, but it's not terrible. The chairs are incredibly comfy. Vinnie did my nails and Linda (or Lo - she gave me both names) did my nails and pedi respectively. Vinnie was nice enough, but I didn't talk to Linda at all. She was very efficient so I didn't care. Vinnie did my nails and did a great job. He was also very, very fast which I loved. I have a hard time sitting still for hours to get my nails done, but he got me in and out pretty quickly. The only reason I give it four stars instead of five is because Vinnie was just really wired. I mean, he seemed to be super jumpy or reactive. Not sure what it was. He got annoyed when I messed up my nail slightly and that was not very cool. Other than that he was okay. First-timer at Christie's and I walked-in for a gel manicure on a Tuesday evening right after work. No wait at all. I found the exact color I wanted and the male manicurist got right to work taking off my old gel. That part was quick. Unfortunately, the polish I chose was *super* watery (not sure if it was old, or what?) and the guy had to go over and over and over again on each nail. I totally give him personally 5 stars for his diligence and effort. My nails have lasted a full 2 weeks with zero chipping! See pic. It's been over two years since my original review, so I think it's important to recognize that Christies has never, ever in that time given me less than great service! My nails look great without fail. I love when Christie does them, but this isn't the place where you have to worry about getting someone that's bad. Contrary to other reviews here, although the staff does sometimes speak Vietnamese (and I'm not going to hold someone speaking their native language against them...) Christie or one of the other girls with better English will often stop and explain what the joke was so you don't feel it's you! Now, one of the reasons that I think Christies is so popular is this: most other salons will force you to get gel the whole way through, upping the price. Now, I usually get acrylic overlay, and the great thing that Christies does is do the acrylic, then polish, and then a clear coat of gel. This is a lot less pricey than a gel full set, looks great, and lasts forever. My nails grow out long before the polish even begins to chip. I know Christies isn't the cutest on the inside, but I go there again and again for the great service and prices, not what color the walls are painted! read more

Not being from PA I Looked up places to get my nails done & came across this place. Boy am I soooo happy I decided to give it a shot! Not only were they most reasonably price (unlike a lot of places I called who wanted around $65-75 for a jel mani and a pedicure) This place charged me $50, Christie took her time and did an Amazing job!
