Reluctantly, I stayed and told her I had basically a long pixie cut last year so naturally it has grown out uneven (to be expected) I requested a blunt slightly a line bob to even things out more with the ultimate goal of growing out my hair. She immediately told me I couldn't do this because my hair wasn't wavy like the reference photo, and if I want to grow my hair out, we shouldn't cut that much off..... I said okay, let's just to a trim into a normal bob then. Without any rhyme or reason, she starts chopping my hair. No technique used or anything. She does a few aggressive chops and claims that it's good and even. I tell her no, my left side of my hair is long than my right....she goes back and imaginary measures the length needed to cut, and somehow, makes it worse. At this point, I knew nothing would fix it and it is now way more uneven than before. Paying $90 for this is insane. I'm currently on my way to a different salon to get it fixed ADD ON: Idk what you mean represent the appointment accurately. I never asked for a pixie cut, I stated that I had gotten one a year ago and it grew out to be uneven (expected). I also didn't say I "wanted to keep my hair long" I said I wanted to grow it out after this. Regardless, my end result looked nothing like any reference photo. With or without references, the end result is crazy and embarrassing that you'd let a client leave like this.

Their stylists rotate between the different Bay Blondes Salon locations so don't be fooled by the lower number of reviews, they're definitely experienced :) I have long thick Asian hair and go for the classic ashy balayage! Brie knew how to handle my hair perfectly (all tangles included) and I've been happy with the outcome both times! This second time I got a much more dramatic cut (at least 8" off with long layers and face-framing "bangs") and I'm so happy with it, will come back again. She also talks you through maintenance and styling for upkeep, and I would trust her with color and cut suggestions if you need any :) They're priced competitively throughout the Bay Area and were able to get me in within the week because I wanted a refresh before my birthday. The studio itself is nice, big, and bright and I've felt totally comfortable. I sent photos of my hair the first time for a quote, but the second time I just went in with some vague inspo photos and let her take the reins. Parking may need to be paid during the week/a long service, but I've gone on Sundays with no issue.

The best part about it is, I was lucky enough to get into the salon within 10 minutes! Lien was lovely to speak to. Not only did she listen to what I wanted done, she made sure to take care of me and make sure I have the best comforting experience. I tend to have specific needs and instructions when it comes to touching my hair... for example: * Cut an inch * No heat styling * No layering scissors * No pulling down with your sheers when cutting length off my curtain bangs And I can tell you this, she had no problem with that and made sure my experience at her salon was "5 star; top of the line".
