I actually liked my hair cuts here but don't dare change your appointment. I don't think I've been so disappointed in a place in a long time. I called ahead worried that I couldn't make my appointment to try to be considerate. No one answered because they don't have a dedicated person answering the phone. I left a message requesting a call back. No one called me so I figured it was too late. I made a 2 hour drive to make it to my appointment only to find out that they considered me canceled without returning my call. I was upset clearly. And I would have left it alone but as I was standing outside texting I could then hear the ladies talking about me. An adorable new(er) salon on Laurel St. in San Carlos. The ladies here came from another salon in Redwood City and you can feel their dynamic chemistry as soon as you walk in the door. Everyone here is very friendly and highly knowledgeable. But enough about that! I've been going here and seeing Kristin since the place opened a couple years back. Kristin cuts my hair and does an absolute phenomenal job each and every time. She also happens to be a wizard with color! I tell her what I'm looking for and she works it! Yet, sometimes I'm unsure of exactly what I want to do and she always has something up her sleeve. I always walk out of here feeling rejuvenated. Erin Quigley is truly an amazing stylist, I cannot recommend her enough. Ive been seeing her for over 3 years, I drive all the way from Oakland, because yes, she is that good. When you find a good stylist, you never let go; Erin is that and more to me! She takes her time to really listen to your choices, she never pushes you into anything your not comfortable with. Erin is an incredible colorist and my hair ends up looking healthier after I see her!? How is that possible? I can't decide if she's a better colorist or hair cutter, She has perfected the textured cut! She recently took me to a short A line textured bob, I've never felt more confident and sassy! Did I mention how affordable she is as well? Swoon is a really beautiful set up and you really get the true sophisticated/pampered experience, but without the pretension or price tag. I would strongly NOT recommend this salon, unless you enjoy below average customer service. I went to Angie a couple of times and then switched to Kristen. It was evident that the salon was unhappy with me switching hairdressers. When I switched to Kristen, they made me feel very uncomfortable. This salon DOES NOT welcome their clients to try out different hairdressers. After deciding to give this place one more chance, I never received a call back. There is an obvious lack of professionalism shown by this salon and it is evident there needs to be better management in place. read more
