I went in for cut on Tuesday, but I was not satisfied with the haircut. After I dried and styled my hair, the cut turned out choppy and sloppy, so I went back in on Thursday . I was greeted by Isabella who was very kind and happy to help. She was able to correct the problem. Isabella provided excellent service and is a great stylist. I so needed a haircut and never planned to come to this location, however, I am so glad I did. I I usually like to avoid Point Loma because the traffic is so congested but decided to drive here on a Saturday because my main reason was to get an Açaí Bowl at Northside Shack who has the most amazing bowls and everything else I might add. In any case, I decided since I was already in Point Loma why not get a haircut. I was seen by Crystal Westbrooks who I learned happened to be the Manager too who cut my hair. She was so friendly first and foremost is what I observed. She took a genuine interest in asking me what I needed to have done and also gave me her suggestion as well. She said it would look good for my hair to be layered since I have so much of it and needed to have a more defined shape to it and also get rid of the heaviness of it. She explained how the products "Enjoy" Shampoo, conditioner, and detangling spray was on sale since you buy two and get the third free. She said she would use the products on my hair so I could feel and see how nice and hydrating they were for my hair. The end result of coming here was that I experienced a friendly hairdresser who was also well experienced in haircuts, and a great sales person who sold me on the "Enjoy" hair kit which included the shampoo, conditioner, and hair detangle spray. I walked away in a great mood as I loved the haircut and how the products made my hair feel not to mention buying the products to use on a regular basis for continuous hydrated and beautiful hair. This review would have been a 4 last year, based on haircut - but 0 stars based on service. I returned to find younger staff and new management which I thought may be a good thing, since they DO NOT tell you price up front (e.g. AFTER cutting my hair they told me they were charging me for extra deep conditioning (not telling me the cost ahead of time). They also told me AFTER providing a LARGE CASH TIP to the stylist. They kept interrupting my time for responding to phone calls and anyone else coming in the door. The next time, the new management (two young girls) told a customer on the phone that making an appointment provided them with apriority based on the timing.. but not over those who were already in line.. then after waiting nearly an hour as a walk-in, another "guy" came in who was nice looking, and the manager announced that she would take him first. Disgusted, I walked out. I went to another location and they were lovely and helpful.. though their haircut skills were not as good as the lady I came back for. Additionally, they did not disclose that their request to shampoo had a cost! Basically.. not impressed with this lack of up front disclosure and poor customer service. If you are a la carte.. may as well find someone regular rather than pay for constant interruptions and poorly trained personnel who just try to sell their products without being transparent about pricing. read more

Two very nice women working here. I made a 4:20 appointment and a guy arriving at the same time as me rushed to get through the door ahead of me. I guess he must know how things are done here, because they took him first, even though he had the 4:30 appointment. Because he "got here first." That added an extra 20 minutes on to the 20 minutes we already both had to wait. So, we waited 40 minutes. During that time, another customer who had been in the chair when we both arrived finished up, and as he was leaving, made loud, offensive comments to my daughter and me, apparently to be funny. I brushed him off, but he wouldn't let up, loudly remarking how he wouldn't tolerate the two of us "making out," I'm assuming because she had her head on my shoulder. He laughed, the Supercuts girl laughed. I responded brightly, pretending I didn't understand his rude, disgusting allusions. So, he kept hammering his point home, salaciously chuckling about how he didn't want to see us "using any tongue." My daughter's 11. I wanted to beat his ass, real talk. He was a large man. I'm a short woman. So, instead, I had to sit there and bite my tongue, which I'm sure he would find hilarious if he were reading this. On his way out, Chester exchanged jovial greetings with the dude with the 4:30 appointment who had sat there and listened to it all and then got told he was next. So we did our time on the bench, and then my daughter got a very meticulous trim from the junior stylist, not the one who took Line Jumper ahead of us. And then that one tried the usual upsell on us, strongly advising a detox treatment and a large bottle of expensive hair product and chastising Junior Stylist for not having initiated the full-court press herself. Side note: I was present during the haircuts of no fewer than 5 men during our 40-minute wait plus the half hour or so that the actual trim took, and I didn't hear one of them getting upsold the way we were. On balance, I can't say the whole thing was a great experience, nor do I plan on returning here. But, the junior stylist was indeed very nice. And, since both patrons that were in chairs when we arrived, Line Jumper, and two others who came in walk-in as we continued to wait were all men and all waited no more than 20 minutes for very pleasant service, I'd say if you're a guy, this place might be recommended. read more

They have a new manager named Crystal Westbrooks, who is a genius with color! She is amazing , my hair is Auburn and lots of stylists have had their share of problems creating a natural look. But not Crystal, my hair was NOT how I liked it a month ago, not at all, twice now Crystal's done my hair and I look GOOD, very natural . I'm 61, my face doesn't show it... and now neither does my hair, that natural . We tried to give opportunities to solve my 3 yr old son's first haircut debacle but it was just a mess. Bad haircut, no communication or fun for him. He's such a sweet little guy and the girl took no opportunities to engage, at all. I would avoid for kids if you expect any personality combined with quality hair cutting. On a relaxing sunday midday, minimal customers, we specifically asked for someone with experience and good at first hair cuts. We got the "oh well all do that" and it seemed like it was probably just a coin flip and whoever lost got the job. The girl maybe said 5 words to our son. Our son was super chill and did exactly what he was told. But she never asked his name or anything at all about him, it was just "look down".... And " is that good.?" And it wasn't. Then the clippers came out and buzz fast and uneven... Very disappointing. We called back and got apology from manager, took him back when manager was there and she fixed the haircut but didn't really care to satisfy the unhappiness that we wasted our first experience with his hair on them. They didn't offer to refund us or offer a free next hair cut as we have "two boys under 8"... A lot of future hair to cut. You'd think future business would be something they would value but they seemed happy with fixing the mess and having me sign away liability by abmitting my minimal satisfaction. Had the girl been hospitable and done a bad job, or had an amazing haircut and been boring.... maybe it would he something to let go, but both awful and the manager cured the haircut but it was clear our business was not cared for. Unfortunate but there seems to be some good spots for kids, so we will seek some referrals instead. read more

Calling ahead or making an appointment is a joke. On my past several attempts I've been told that I'd have to wait an hour after my appointment time to be seen. On my most recent trip, while waiting, had two walk-ins come in after my appointment time and get seen ahead of me. I usually don't go to this specific location, but I went out of my way since my stylist Alex was here! She provided amazing customer service along with great conversational skills. Along with this, she always checked in with me to make sure the haircut I asked for was exactly the way I wanted it. She even provided tailored feedback in terms of which hair products worked best for me. All around, Alex is a consistent, knowledgable and an exceptional stylist! read more

After a few years of coming here and getting so many great haircuts from Kathleen, I can't recommend this location and the people who work here enough!! Yelpers are in good hands here! There may be some hardcore 'Karen' type reviews that others have left on the Yelp for this Sports Arena location, but they are old or complete nonsense from what I have experienced. As a guy with a fairly standard haircut, I like knowing that when I say, "number two on the sides and blended with it shorter on the top" it turns out perfect every time! Customers may be different and have their own preferences, but the employees are great, there is tons of parking, it's very clean, and there is even a Starbucks or Jersey Mikes nearby if you have to wait a few minutes! After such a tough year for these professionals and for this industry with Covid shutdowns and limitations, it's great to see things ramping up and back to normal! I have had great luck with supercuts. Not only do they have some of the cheapest prices in town; but the employees all have been very helpful and cooperative as to what I want out of the haircut. I have been to other salons where the employees insisted on giving me the kind of haircut they think I should have. Nuts to that, I'm paying. I have been using Super cuts for a long time. I usually go to Supercuts in UTC and La Jolla but I tried this one out because I was on my way home. I know all of the staff at those locations and they always treat me well. Not the experience I had at this location. Not only was I greeted rudely by Antoinette but she then gave me a bowl cut on my head! I have been getting the same haircut for 20 plus years. A fade is a fade is a fade.. Blend it in with no lines! I even told her as long as there are no lines then I will be happy. She left a bowl on my head!!! Then she proceeds to try to tell me that it can't be fixed and nothing more will come off. What you need to say is "I suck at fades and don't know what I'm doing"! Horrible service and experience and I will never go back..
