I was shocked at the pricing here -- $165 for a simple grey touch-up! Any other salon I have been charges roughly 90 dollars for the same service. For a basic color service, this is far above what's typical in our area. The work was ok, but the value for the money just isn't there, and I can't justify returning at these prices. This was actually my second visit. My first experience, just three weeks earlier, was very disappointing. I brought in a picture for reference, and the result looked nothing like it. I disliked it so much that I went home and contacted the salon to have it corrected. The original cost for the root touch-up plus highlights was $275. When I came back an hour later for the correction, the owner told me she had to charge me because I didn't say anything before leaving. I hadn't wanted to insult the hairdresser because she was sweet so I kept quiet at the time, but after going home, I felt strongly that I shouldn't have to pay $275 for something I didn't ask for. The owner then charged me another $67 to tone down the brightness, bringing the total for that day to over $350. I did not leave a tip for the second trip that day because I was not happy with the situation. Regrettably, I decided to give the salon another try, but had I known a root touch up would cost 165, I would never have given them another chance. Never again will I make the same mistake. And as a first time client, the owner charged me because I didn't speak up prior to leaving. I can't believe the owner treated a new client this way. 552 dollars in one month is insane! NEVER AGAIN!!

I'm 30 years old and she's hosted my birthday party in 2nd grade, styled my hair for prom, and suffered through every crazy dye job I've ever wanted. In my teens, she would take the wild pictures I brought her and even though no one else in this small town would want rainbow highlights or pink-and-blonde split, she would painstakingly create original creations for me, hand-painting colors and foils on my hair. Even today, there's nowhere else I'd trust for my hair. I have been there on early mornings when the elderly ladies come in and she gently perms and sets their thin hair on rollers. I have seen her patiently cut little boys' hair into perfect trims. I'm on a first-name basis with everyone in the salon. When I have been sick, and can't shower, she's offered to wash my hair my free. She told me today that if a breast cancer survivor wants a pink streak for the cause, it's no charge. I can't recommend enough this amazing place. It feels like neighborhood, and sisterhood, and home. She takes cash and checks only, no credit card machine. She isn't available on Wednesdays, but you can leave a message and she'll call you back. She'll always recommend products from her favorites stash - which she's tested to perfection. Everyone is so friendly here, no matter if it's your first time or your thousandth. Tell her I sent you - she'll know just who you mean.
