CAUTION: Disgusting Tacos Ahead! My wife and I had lunch on Friday, June 1. Let me start with the one thing that was good, then elaborate on everything else, which was not ... especially the "scab" tacos. Really?! Scab tacos??!! [They chose the name, not me. Bet they would like a do-over. Just sayin'.] THE GOOD - The smokey, deep brown salsa served slightly warm was quite tasty. EVERYTHING ELSE: 1. I had the Shrimp Diablo Tacos and they were a disaster! Not only was the shrimp fishy, but the "costra style" shells were an absolute abomination: VERY greasy, amazingly unattractive (see photo), and likely packed 800 calories each due to the grease and cheese. Since there was only 1 bar of web connection, I was unable to Google "costra style" before ordering. Had I been able to do so, the description of being "scab like" (yep! You read that correctly!! Scab!!!) would have made the dish a No Go. That said, I will say the term is accurate: they were DEFINITELY scab-like in appearance, and the degree of grease oozing off of them put me not only in mind of a scab, but one attached to an infected wound. Barf!! 2. My wife's #1 from the lunch menu was about as basic as a taco and enchilada can be. She even told me it was a stretch to call it Mexican food. 3. (I like that there is an outdoor dining space that gives you a view of Fenton's green space and movie theatre crowd.) In spite of all this, I think I may have ordered the wrong items perhaps. This was my first visit and I did not research the most popular items. As a consequence, my chicken fajitas were just average compared to other places I've dined and my daughter's crunchy chicken tacos were ok. I came back after my last review and had a much better experience, so I'm hoping the earlier staffing issues have been resolved. We were seated without a reservation on a busy Saturday night, and the hostess was kind and really intentional about making sure we were comfortable. The food was delicious and came out quickly. My one piece of feedback is to skip the basic margaritas and choose your own tequila. Our server didn't seem very familiar with the drink menu--when I asked for a spicy margarita, I was brought "The OG," which wasn't spicy and had something in it that just didn't work for me. I switched to a margarita with Casamigos mezcal and it was amazing. Overall, a solid spot in Fenton for good food, especially if you're with a group. I'm a big fan to Mexican food so I'm usually a little disappointed with Tex Mex as I'm from So CA. I set my sights on being open minded and really enjoyed this meal. We had a party of 7, with 3 kids. Lots of commotion which our server handled with grace. Very well trained staff which goes a long way toward an enjoyable experience. The chips, salsas, guacamole and fresh dip were top notch. Everyone enjoyed them and there was enough for us all. My husband and I shared chicken enchiladas suiza and shrimp tacos. The ingredients were fresh and the plates were appealing. We really enjoyed the flavors. Not Mexican but more southern mex. The sauce on the suiza was a little too much in quantity. Side orders of beans and rice were "family style" which gave us the option to eat what we enjoyed most. We had two members of our group try the fajitas with pork belly. They enjoyed it. Lots of veggies and just enough meat. The ambience is beautiful. Lots of seating options inside and out. Our tab came to $250 for a family of 7. Cute spot at Fenton with indoor and outdoor seating. We started with cocktails - The Hibiscus (light and refreshing) and The Highway Man (boozier, but delicious). The table is served with chips and 2 style salsas - Smokey chipotle and milder green. I didn't love either salsa, but appreciate their complimentary. For dinner, we had steak tacos ($29 - OUCH!) and chicken tacos. They were fine, but not worth the cost. Superica Tex-Mex at Fenton absolutely nailed it. We went on a Sunday afternoon and were seated right away--no waiting, no chaos, just instant Tex-Mex happiness. The atmosphere is spot-on and fun, from the adorable old bicycle seats with vintage handlebars shaped like cow heads (horns and all) to the agave plants lining the walls. It feels playful, intentional, and very on-brand. The food? Outstanding. I ordered the chicken breast fajitas and was pleasantly surprised to get an actual full chicken breast, skin on, seasoned to perfection. Juicy, thick, and cooked exactly right. (I was going to make a joke here... but I'll behave. Mostly.) Because of a gluten allergy, I swapped the homemade flour tortillas for corn with zero issues. The fajitas come with a little garlic butter you pour over everything--clever, indulgent, and delicious. Bonus points for not overloading the fajitas with bell peppers. Just grilled onions, which are my personal love language. Service was solid and attentive without being overbearing. Overall, it was one of those meals where you're already planning your next visit before you've paid the bill. When I moved from Houston, TX to Virginia, my Tex-Mex and Mexican options were 'barely tolerable' to 'I would not be able to in good conscience serve this to my most hated enemy even if God Himself said it was a just punishment'. Ground 'bits' of underseasoned chicken for fajitas. Stale, store-brought, heavily preserved tortillas. Lifeless salsa and stale chips. I wanted to ask many of the restaurant owners whose establishments I dined at, "who made your recipes, and did they have a grudge against humanity? Did they make it their sworn mission to destroy all things good and wholesome?" When I moved to Cary, NC, I looked for Tex-Mex, someplace that would serve decent chicken fajitas, and by chance I happened to come across Superica and photos of their chicken fajitas- proper large strips of chicken. So me and my family went, our expectations rather low after dozens of disappointments. I reasoned that a restaurant that presented fajitas in such a palatable way must know what they're doing. We instantly fell in love. The chips and sauces were perfect, better than what we had back in Houston. The service was impeccable. And the chicken fajitas made me feel vindicated not only in choosing the restaurant, but a place to live. My only warning to would-be diners is to not make the same mistake I did- which is to do a walk-in- and to call ahead in advance, but that was on me. One can hardly blame Superica for providing such good food and service that it beckons everyone to flock to them. Well, I suppose I *could*, but that would be grossly unfair and I like to think myself above such banal pettiness. 5/5, no complaints, and my parents- who are, like me, unapologetic foodies- want to visit again ASAP. read more

Great spot located in Fenton. I've been a few times. Love their salsa - very fresh. I got the Taco Dinner with all three of the meat/veg options to try. Pretty large tacos. Came with rice and refried beans. Chicken tinga and ground beef tacos were very good. Fried avocado was just okay. I would probably get it not fried next time. Refried beans were good but rice was a little crunchy. $19 for the dinner, which feels steep but you do get a decent amount of food. The service was quick. I've been here three times. The food is always pretty good - a huge highlight is the fresh warm tortillas that smell exactly like my late Abuela's. Just nostalgic bliss. However, I came here to write about the service. On Sunday, we brought our kids ice skating and stopped in for a quick bite. Our server was just the best. I wish I could remember his name - but he was so fun, engaged with the kids and seemed to be enjoying his job. My 7 year old's favorite thing in the world is hot chocolate. He had been looking forward to it all day. We bought him a hot chocolate from the food truck outside. He made it a few sips in before he knocked it over at our table. Our kiddo was devastated, but we weren't going to go buy him a second $10 hot chocolate. After helping us clean it up, our server walked over to the food truck and explained what happened. They gave him a new hot chocolate on the house, which he delivered over to us and just said "I just hated to see him so sad". It was so kind and unexpected. He told us he has a better day when he gets to make others happy. I mean yes, we definitely gave him a good tip, but I genuinely think he meant it. This is the third time we've been here and every time we experience a team member going above and beyond. This place either has great management or just knows how to hire the right people. Came here for an early dinner last night and enjoyed my meal, with a couple of caveats. First, since we came early, we were able to snag a table immediately, which was nice :) Almost immediately, the free chips and salsa arrived, and everything was very tasty! There were two salsa options: A refreshing avocado-based salsa and something a little spicier and more tomato-y. Both were good! The chips were very thin and crispy, which was generally a plus, although sometimes a chip would break when I was going for a scoop of salsa. I got the craft beer of the day, which was pretty meh. In general, the beer selection was OK but I would have preferred a little bit more variety. I ordered the tacos al carbon with grilled chicken for my entree, and they were OK but not great. The chicken was kind of dry and there just wasn't a lot going on - in hindsight, I think I should have ordered them "Rico style," which included queso and guacamole. Service was excellent throughout the meal, so no problems there. I'm absolutely open to coming back to Superica again, but I would definitely order a different entree. read more

Our favorite Mexican style restaurant in NC! The margaritas are delicious (try the ginger margarita), the chili con queso is so dippy and delicious, the portions of food are always large enough to split. We have had the fajitas, tacos and relleno dish. You also get unlimited chips and 2 different salsas! The service is always super quick and has multiple runners that bring out your food in a timely manner. It has a great indoor (covered) and outdoor patio area. Really good tex mex! All the staff were so nice and intentional about wanting to do a good job (everyone we met seemed like they genuinely cared about being a good worker, and took their jobs seriously). The 3 taco plates are pretty big, the soft is finished on a grill (we think) so they're crispy (in a good way) too!! Rice and beans were delicious, guac was INCREDIBLE- especially with fresh lime, chips were light and crisp (super thin which we loved) not thick yellow preserved like some places give. Red and green salsa, loved both, complimentary with the thin chips. Guac comes with thick darker chips probably double fried if I had to guess. DELICIOUS watermelon marg (it was frozen but didnt feel sugary) and the guava marg may be my new fave cocktail... and Im not really a tequila fan! Staff reiterated lime and all the fruit juice was squeezed fresh and we could tell, didn't disappoint. It was a super hot day, and right as we were sitting down, our amazing server Angelica rushed over with ice cold water for us! So very thoughtful AND NEEDED! The food was great! Their brunch menu was still going on at 3pm on a Sunday, which was a pleasant surprise! I got their chilaquiles and they were great! Hubby got the barbacoa tacos and they were delicious. Margaritas were also on point- I loved the spicy kick they had! Will have to try the pickle one next time House made popsicles were included in the kids meals and they were SO good. Cons: The chicken nachos were smothered in a very thick layer of refried beans, and garnished oddly. The chicken was fatty and burnt. I tried but just couldn't eat it. Our server seemed generally annoyed and was pushy - rushing us to order at first, then disappeared after we had finished our meals. Overall, not a great experience. Food was very expensive and low quality. We shared beef enchiladas and it was the blandest, stale piece of food we've had in a while. They didn't even use shredded beef, it was basically frozen ground beef. The tortillas used were quite honestly awful. It also tastes like it had freezer burn or something. For the price ($22 for only two medium-small enchiladas) would have expected a lot more. Also, the spicy margaritas we ordered were also very poorly done, did not taste good at all. The queso and vibe was good and the service was attentive, so there is that. I like that they do free chips and salsa. i was actually blown away by our experience at superica! we went as a family of 4 on valentine's day so you already know it was packed. i did make reservations and we were seating within 2-3 minutes! the hostess was so sweet along with the other employees we talked to. our server was awesome and gave us the rundown since it was our first time. it was definitely hectic but all of our food came out pretty quickly! the classic queso was sooo good. my husband got the diablo shrimp tacos and we both agreed they were delicious. i ordered the steak fajitas and i think they are some of the best i've ever had. great portion size and they come with unlimited beans and rice which i thought was cool! the only that was slow to arrive were the drinks - i got a no-jito with was NA and we got one of their daily special iced teas! our server let us know they were a bit backed up which was no problem to us. both drink were great!! overall we had an awesome time and will definitely be back!! read more

Portions were good. Recently unsure if there has been a change but there was a creepy bald bartender, who stood out -- lacking customer service and seemed like it was an extra chore to do his job we had to ask him for everything and some things twice. I finally dined at Superica and enjoyed my meal. My party of 3 arrived after 9:00 p.m while attending an event at Sports & Social. Anytime I have visited there is always a long wait for a table. We decided to sit at the bar for a drink while waiting. Luckily seats became available and we ordered our meal at the bar. I decided on the Ginger Margarita and Al Pastor Tacos. My friend ordered chorizo Queso for us to all share. The Al Pastor tacos which are pork are very flavorful and moist. The huge chunks of grilled pineapple was a nice sweet touch. The charro beans were very filling and not salty. Skylar was our bartender and he was very friendly and kept the conversation going with us. Really nice staff here.
