For anyone interested, please know that Advance Auto Parts will indeed place your whipper blades after purchase of the actual blade. But the phenominal customer service was not expected, and I appreciate it! If I have any other reason to need to come to get my car looked at for something quick, this was a good place to start.

Unsure of when it was purchased i brought the battery in. I was told by the sales rep they battery was out of warranty due to build date. I informed him its actually from purchase date. he reluctantly agreed, so we looked up the purchase date. (may 2024) we still had 2 months to go on warranty. he then tells me he needs to charge and test it. and it will be 30 minutes. we said that's fine well be back in 30 minutes... We come back and are told by another representative that it needs to slow charge for 24 HOURS... what could we do? so we agreed... i called customer service diehard warranty side and spoke to deborah. I asked if 24 hour charge is standard to warranty a battery. she said she couldn't tell me and needed to speak to the store putting me on a brief hold. she returned to call and told me "he said he didn't say that...he said it would be 9 hours and come back 9 hours from drop off" i told her that would be midnight that night.. so essentially it will be charging close to 24 hours... she gave me a $10 store coupon and apologized for the confusion and inconvenience. I arrived the next day at 9:04 to a different staff.. and was told my battery was out of warranty because 2 years had passed since build date. I corrected this new rep who didn't argue.. just agreed and looked up purchase date. then told me he had to test it.. to my surprise it passed... or so i was told... he sets down the tester on the table where it says in bold yellow charge and retest... i asked him again...it says passed/good..He responded "yup"... so i asked him what the cold cranking amps were.. he responded 123... i told him the rating is 550 that battery isn't good. the tester says charge and retest...His response... ill get your new battery. acknowledging he lied right to my face... i even gave him a second chance to correct himself.. it was early and maybe he wasn't all the way awake yet.. he doubled down. so at the end of all this i received my new battery.. with a catch.. the build date was 5/25...9 months old and i said this to the rep handling the warranty...no response... i take it home and put it in my wife's mustang to find it wont start... the new batteries voltage... (11.3v) not enough to start a car. healthy voltage is 12.7.. so here i am with a battery under new warranty i had to charge myself...i called corporate sales hotline Monday to be told there is nothing they can do except a full refund of the battery. leaving me back a square one.. or put in a ticket with the store manager... who may have been one of the people on the floor either day i was there... no one there had on a name tag and was in street clothes...

For one of my visits I needed to buy the additional tools needed to replace my sparkplugs and a few other things like an air filter. Anthony assisted in me in finding the right aisle for the spark plug sockets, the anti-seize lubricant, and the air filters. I picked up a few other things like the orange goop for my hands and the good blue paper towels. I had everything I needed for a tune up. I went back a couple times the following week as I wanted to replace my battery next. I had to come back since there weren't enough staff members available at the time for someone to be able to change out my battery, but was able to come back the next day and get this done. Mike was very helpful in assisting me with getting this done. While I got the new battery, John came over and gave me a detailed explanation of how the battery worked and when I should add distilled water. Another employee Floyd was also super helpful and was there even thought he wasn't working at the time. Overall, you can tell this is a friendly neighborhood auto parts store and the staff was friendly and helpful. In the short time I was there I could tell that lots of people like to come here and talk about cars and the staff is willing and able to help everybody.

So, here we go again.........yet ANOTHER great experience here!…read more Let me back up. I should have wrote this review a long time ago. About almost a year ago, I had my truck towed here. It was locked up so to speak. The techs (Tim, and manager Mike) started trouble shooting and told me I DEFINATLEY had two bad lifters. I'm no dummy to autos and I had suspected this myself. (after more research, this engine had a design flaw from the factory, unfortunately I was out of warrenty) Let me say also, this wasn't a swindle deal, I never told them what I suspected. After talking to them a bit, I found out that to fix just one lifter was going to be about $1500. Mostly because the engine heads had to be completely removed. Also, the likely hood that only one or two were bad was slim and none. To repair all the lifters (and still have design flaw) would have been in the neighborhood of like $4000. Whoa! This was due to all the labor that it would take, as well as parts. (btw, I did get a couple more estimates, and they were all in the same price range). So, Mike calls me the next day and suggests that I get a new, reconditioned engine which would be just like brand new PLUS have a full 3 yr 100000 mile warrenty AND have design flaw fixed. This would obviously be more money, but only by a few thousand. I know, it's alot! But why spend $4 grand and ONLY have new lifters when I could have a whole new engine. Made sense to me, so I gave the go ahead. The whole duration, from ordering the new engine to instalation completion, was 1 week. I thought this was pretty quick! When I picked it up, they informed me that the new engine was showing pretty low oil pressure, not where they wanted to see it. To my surprise they had already talked to the engine dealer and had a ticket claim number started. The dealer wanted me to drive it and let it break in to see if this fixed the problem So we did that. Long story short, the problem never corrected no matter what they (the dealer) had us do, so Mike told them to give me a new engine. Of course the dealer didn't want to, but Mike stood his ground for me and sure enough, they consented. He said what's right is right, and he would make it that way even if he had to never use them again. Right on! So, after another week, the next engine was in and doing great! The workmanship was top notch, and everyone there was courteous, friendly, and very knowledgeable. These guys know what they are talking about. (BTW, they made the engine dealer pay for my rental too!) Now, just last week, I needed a new battery and called em up. Not only did they have one in stock, but at a VERY fair price with installation too! So, Mid-Atlantic Auto Repair is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by me. Again, Mike the manager, Tim the shop forman, and Mark the service writer/assistant manager are all stand up guys who give their all. While they might not be the LOWEST price out there, they definatley deliver quality work, with a smooth experience. Dustin "Red" Nisewarner

I've now had 2 disappointing experiences with this shop. The first time was with my BMW, where I…read morehad to bring it back multiple times because a warning light kept coming on. After several returns, they finally resolved it. Fast forward several months later, against my better judgment, I decided to bring in my other vehicle, my GMC for 2 issues: 1) replacing a cracked left side mirror, and 2) diagnosing and fixing the check engine light. They had my car for a week, during which I had to rent a vehicle. On September 10th, I got a call that my car was ready. I paid the bill over the phone, dropped off the rental, and my wife drove me to pick up my "repaired" car after hours. To my disappointment, the moment I started the car, the check engine light was still on. I thought maybe the system just needed to reset, so I drove it home, went to gym--but the light never went off. My question is: why return a car to a customer when the main issue hasn't been fixed? Now I'm left wasting more of my time either bringing the car back again or paying another shop to finally address the problem.
