I'm so glad I went to MM instead! The location was great and easily accessible. There was no wait and the manager/owner was very friendly. He was also funny. Just wow. The dealer quoted me $2,000 for a new exhaust system and said to go to Meineke to replace just the flex pipe by the catalytic converter, Meineke said it couldn't be done and quoted me $1,300 to repair. A mechanic friend highly recommended Maryland Muffler. I called and Vince said I could bring it in on a Saturday and he'd have a look and likely repair the same day. I arrived 15 minutes after opening and was the 3rd or 4th customer of the day. Was efficiently checked in and Vince said he would call when they have a look. 45 minutes later he called and said **$168** to replace the part that no one else could. Done, sold, yes please. Brought in a Toyota Camry to have the exhaust system fixed. Maryland Muffler indicated that the system from the head back needed replacement. When the car was picked up the center section of the exhaust pipe was 2 1/2 inches lower than the original. It was hanging significantly below the car. The car was going back to college, so no opportunity to leave it and have it corrected. I have heard good things about this shop, but apparently they are getting sloppy. read more

A friend told me to take my sons car to muffler place after getting a ridiculous quote from the dealership. I drove past here so many times but never realIy noticed it, until I needed a muffler place. I called and Vince said I could drop the car off any time. I dropped it off right before closing on Sunday with a list of things I was told needed done, he asked who told me this and said he'd rather look to see what needed done, by Monday at 9 am he called to say only half of one of the things needed done and quoted me a price 1/3 of what the dealership did for the same part and service. My dealer said that my Kia, which had developed a loud engine noise, had an exhaust leak. I read the great reviews from Maryland Muffler, and took the car right to them. They put it up on the lift within 5 minutes and said that there was no exhaust leak. I asked if they were sure, as the dealer had listened to the car just an hour earlier and advised that was the problem. They put it up on the lift again and spent 20 minutes looking and listening. The guys again said that it wasn't an exhaust leak, and noticed that the sound coming from the engine changed when the A/C was switched off, something the dealer never noticed. They then recommended another local mechanic who could diagnose and fix the problem. They refused to charge me for the 30 minutes they spent trying to figure out what was wrong with my car. You can bet that I'll be back. You just don't find service like this anymore. read more

I went to the vw dealership for a maintenance on my vehicle because my muffler was sounding louder than usual, they said I needed an exhaust clamp on the muffler, with an estimate of $175.00 which would have been more with labor. I took my car to Maryland Muffler and Mr. Vince and his team looked at my car and let me know that my car needed an exhaust sleeve and that a piece of my muffler had rusted out and that they could make the repair. He told me to bring it right in so they could check it out. I had never ever heard about Maryland Mufflers until a couple of days back and today I am a great fan of theirs. My car has been very loud for at least a couple of months, and it was embarrassing to drive it around, so I got it diagnosed at a Toyota dealership for a whopping $1900 estimate, they had asked me to replace the down pipe + muffler + a bunch of other things, my car is very old, and definitely not worth the big repairs, so I started searching for reviews on Angie's List soon as I got home, and I noticed all the great reviews for Maryland repairs. They guy didn't even look for options which they had because they had a 4 post lift they could have easily used.
