I come here during there for the cheapest fruits and veggies prices! They also have great prices on meats certain days. I've learned it all about the day you go. Their fruit and veggies are usually pretty good looking. They also have fresh fresh food everyday or sale and salsas too. It's pretty lean and well organized here as well. read more

I love this place. The meat Butchers are cute and sexy. I go everyday. I wish they would cut our meats in their boxer shorts. One butcher, The tall one, always flirts with me. The managers works their azzes off to keep the store clean and shiny. The sweet cashiers are always friendly. I used to steal fruit samples but due to covid, I do not anymore. Superior on GAREY is a family grocery. They care. The one on LaBrea in Los Angeles is always a mess. and always long lines. I am glad I moved out to Pomona. read more

Moving from Chicago that had a lot of good ethnic grocery stores, I was looking for alternative to Whole Foods et al. There seems to be very slim pickings in Claremont, until i came to Superior. It reminded of back home, i.e. good selection of vegetables and fruits at very reasonable prices, taco meat, fresh tortillas, and homemade chips. However, recently, I bought taco meat that gone bad, which I didn't know until I got home. Also, I had an incredibly rude cashier who was on her phone as I was standing and waiting to be checked out in her aisle. When I asked about a sale price, she said "I don't know" without looking up. When I asked cordially in a different way, she said, "If it's on sale, it's on sale." She acted pissed, and it couldn't possibly have been more clear that she didn't want my business. When I went back another day to give the place another chance (everyone deserves another chance), I had the great misfortune of having the same cashier, who treated me the same way. At least, she was consistent. I'm assuming that it wasn't personal or individual to me because she never looked up...ever. Needless to say, I will not be going back. This is a shame because I prefer to support local businesses. Does anyone know a better alternative in or near Claremont? read more

My mother asked an obvious question & couldn't make up her mind but he was super patient & in an uplifting mood. He deserves recognition for that. Well they finally filled this spot with a new grocery store. I'm happy because it is the closest to home also that it's a Hispanic based store and offers a needed variety to the area. Great meat market . Some of the prices are pretty good, but overall not much cheaper than elsewhere. They have a great Mexican deli and tortilla factory. Definitely the place to go for Hispanic foods. One pound carnitas and with rice, beans, tortillas and 3 salsas for $12.99, was $9.99 when first opened. Still a good deal, feeds four. The staff is still new so give them time. Check out is self bagging and a bit slow, and not many registers open. Don't get behind anyone using WIC because it takes 10 minutes longer. Big store worth checking out. read more

This market rips you off ! 16-20 count shrimp was on sale for $5.98 lb it comes in a 2lb bag should be 11.96 RIGHT...WRONG they charged $13.31 I have pictures to prove it. When I told them to bring the manager out to talk to me he wouldn't come out but I saw him talking on the phone to the checker I was sorting out this problem with and he was doing nothing to help the customer. I shop here a lot, sometimes a few times a week. The only reason why I'm a regular customer is because it's convenient. Besides stater bros. it is the nearest grocery store to me. Some of their cashiers don't seem too fond of their jobs and are in zombie mode but have never been rude to me. Their lines are fucking ridiculous! They always only have 1-2 registers open. I once stood in line for 20 minutes. Also, the tomatillos in their produce section are disgusting! read more

I like this superior. The workers are always friendly. Adrian at the bakery is awesome. I wanted some fresh bolillos but they would not be ready until 1hr. I paid for them and Adrian made sure he put them aside for me. The food is also delicious. When ever I get home late I stop and buy some. COMPLAINT FOR HIGHER UP THAN A SUPERVISOR We like to shop at Superior Grocery Store Pomona . We bought cheese from Supier Grocery Store Pomona . After three of us consuming the product we started to feel real sick with vomiting , diarrhea and body aches. My boyfriend file a complaint on 3/10/17 to Luis Lara Supervisor. As a supervisor, he was very rude, inconsiderate and careless. As my boyfriend expresed the concern that we had gotten sick by consuming the product, Luis Lara continued by responding that the store did not make the cheese. My boyfriend responded by telling him that the store sells the cheese therefore makes the store responsible for what happens to the consumers. As a consumer is our job to let a representative of the store know if something goes wrong with any of the product sold by the store. This way no one goes through the same situation. Luis Lara at first refused to give his name and when asked for the phone number of the store, he responded by telling my boyfriend that, he must ask one of the cash register for the number. So not only did he refused to give his name at first but also did not bother or care to provide the phone number of the store. Now I'm not to sure if, he really gave my boyfriend his true name. Shame, because, he is giving a bad reputation to the Store. read more

Mexican bread review...stay away from the mexican bread. I ALWAYS make the drive to the covina location. The bread here is stale and does not taste the same. I tried again today since i hadn't been there for a bit in hopes that there would be a change but it was just as bad..yuck. MANAGEMENT. . Please teach your bakers how to make the bread. Highly dissatisfied! Walked in looking for a cake for my grandma already knew what I wanted , I waited to be helped after standing at the front register for a bout 3 minutes & the only reason I was approached by the lady finally was because a gentleman that worked there had to notify her , as she processed to help me wasn't friendly no smile nor looked happy to be there as she was cashing me out another lady had showed up and didn't wait behind me like common curtesy just put her things right up next to me at this point the lady Vanessa I think it was cashing me out started putting the box together for the cake , half way through she stopped and started helping out the other lady and told me have a good day , she didn't ask if I wanted anything written on the cake she didn't ask if I needed .
