If I could give this place -5 stars, I definitely would. First and foremost, it's probably the dirtiest place in LA. I live on Hollywood Blvd and even the street is much cleaner than their massage rooms. Then, the massage itself is terrible. I don't know who and how taught them to do massage, but they need to ask for a refund. My bones still ache so bad; I barely can move. I was said massage would be good for my poor back, but seems like it only made thing worse. Please, stay away from this place if you already have problems with bones and muscles. To be honest, I can tolerate dirt and terrible massage. But what I just can't stand is horrible service. First of all, I was asked to pay BEFORE I actually got the service. I was also asked to give them tips before massage! What? After they finished breaking my bones, I was free to go. But I decided to be a nice customer and leave some tips. $7 would be more than enough for this kind of "service", but they said "Oh, but the minimum is $10". I didn't have $10 cash so they wanted me to pay with my credit card. The result: I was charged $10 more for the most terrible service ever. read more

If I can give 0 stars I would. Me and my husband both went to go get a massage for one hour. Let's start with it wasn't even an hour long massage they were very rough to the point where I didn't even want to get massaged anymore. I only stuck through the massage because I felt bad that my husband had already paid for it mind you they make you pay before you get the massage. If felt like I was getting elbowd the whole time. I kept telling the lady it hurt and all she would do was just laugh. After the massage She basically didn't let us out the building because she wanted to get tipped me and my husband were telling her we didn't like the service they were too rough and we didn't wanna tip she kept telling us yes tip! yes tip then I looked at her and said is a tip mandatory it's included or what and she said yes you have to tip yes tip and we couldn't even get out of the building because she had it locked and wouldn't want to open it. Finally my husband said I don't have my wallet let me get it from the car that's the only way she let us out the salon and we just left. I just think that is very unprofessional how are you going to have more than one masseuse harass you for tips. My massage therapist Coco was super friendly and incredibly strong for such a petite woman. The location wasn't the most glamorous but she sure did give me one hell've a massage. Looking for a unique massage experience? Think I've got a place for you! Ever have your masseuse fart on you while massaging you? Then giggle with her gal pal about it? Or, leave you for 5-10 minutes at a time every 30 mins to grab towels or hot stones? How about that hovering and staring technique with half a dozen asian woman surrounding you while you're writing your tip in? When Superior Massage first opened, I use to go there often. I always had my massages with Mary and they were amazing. However, the last few times I've been back has been very disappointing! So, when I called this morning to make an appointment for 2 people at 8pm, I specifically asked for Mary. The response was "Ok, no worry, everybody good" I said, "but I want Mary, is she available?" The lady on the phone responded "yes, ok, see you at 8." My boyfriend and I showed up at 8pm for the massage. Mary was at the front desk and asked if we wanted to pay first (thank frecken god we didnt!) She led us in to the back as if she was giving us the massage. We laid facing down and within the first 10 minutes I realized that my masseuse wasn't Mary. My masseuse spent a good 5 minutes laying and folding towels, then another 5 minutes chit chatting with my boyfriend's masseuse while pressing lightly on my back. She probably wasted 15 minutes before really even started massaging me. Then, right when she started oiling my back, my boyfriends masseuse lays a BIG FART while massaging him! LOL The massage was average. Both women had no flow or a technique down to do a complete 90 minute massage. It was a hodge podge of rubbing, pinching and elbowing throughout the body. Usually, the best part would have been the hot stones which came with the massage, but they managed to screw this up too. I have a high heat tolerant, but because every time they left the room, it took them 10 minutes to get the hot stones (and chit chat), by the time they got back, my entire back was cold so the hot stones burned my skin. When we were done, I turned around to confirm that it indeed wasn't Mary who massaged anyone of us. After we got dressed, we walked outside to the small front desk where two of our masseuse stood there next to Mary. Mary told us the total was $110. My boyfriend gave her a credit card and she said that she had to charge us $1 per person extra. I asked, "but you're only using 1 card" and she said "but the fees are so high, so i charge you $2, ok?" At that point, we just wanted to get out of there, so she charged us $112. When the receipt came out, there were a total of 6 women crowding and staring at my boyfriend to see what tip they'll be getting. How unprofessional! Long story short, you get what you pay for. Certainly am not going back again to Superior. I'd rather pay a little more and head to Heavenly Massage where you consistently get a good massage instead! read more

One of the Worst massage experiences I've EVER GOTTEN. Not a warm greeting. Just hello then "You want full body massage. You want $50 one?!" In my head like uh hold up! Like can I look at the choices... Then didn't even offer me water or bathroom, I HAD TO ASK! Then massage lady - Don't know her name. (Tall thin pretty) started massaging me. Has a FRANTIC ENERGY to her. Not a peaceful energy. Complimented me and my Afro hair that's nice:) but it was just awkward - stopping and awing at my hair... . that's fine & nice! But I came to relax and she's bringing her ADHD frantic energy to the massage. Just massage me (I'm not being mean lol). But if I'm paying just make massage nice and Smooth and warm :). I'm a MASSAGE THERAPIST so I do this every day. And the last thing I need after a LONG weeks work of giving massages all day is an AWKARD NONPEACEFUL MASSAGE also she was slightly rough with turning my head and stuff. ODD. And at my feet was texting on her phone. Then used GLOVES for my feet. I understand for sanitation issues! But they soak your feet first and I HAVE CLEAN FEMININE FEET so I don't see the deal. A friend told me to go here. And I didn't read any of the reviews until after...I'm glad I didn't or I may not have gone. There was no up selling, they were friendly and it was BY FAR, the very best massage EVER. I was a little freaked out when he started walking on my back-just because I've never experienced that, but it was great-once I relaxed. He kept asking if I was okay...was the pressure too much...and, later when he was working on my upper back and shoulders, he stayed their longer because I was really hurting and had knots there. Yes, he used oils, but then put hot, wet towels over me and got the oil completely off of me. I also got hot stones. It was Ah-mazing. My massage was only $35. Maybe I hit a good day? Awesome place. I like my massages a little rough. I'm the kind of girl that likes it when it "hurts so good." I've got some crazy back problems and the knots in my back and neck give me bad headaches. "Regular" massages are ok but do very little with regards to really getting my knots out or making me feel better. This place hits the spot!! $25 foot massage, $35 full body. I've done both. I like both. I enjoyed the full body more, as it's not really my feet that has the problems and they spend more time on my back and neck with the full body. I took a friend with me last night. I LOVE foot massages, I get one weekly. Been to a couple of places around Sherman Oaks, this place is decent. It's not Burke Williams but at the $20 rate you just have to cut them some corners. PROS: parking is easy, price is decent, place is clean, staff is friendly. CONS: ThE noise level. No receptionist so sometimes your masseuse may leave to quickly answer the phone. Good place but only giving it 3 stars because they cut our appointment times short because it was getting late. We called and they told us to come in at 9:35pm (they close at 10pm) so we go there on time, I went in right away, probably around 9:40 or so. My wife didnt start until 9:45pm but they still finished at 10:35pm and didnt even do her feet. Not that huge of a deal just wish we would have known from the beginning. Massage was good although next time I will get the 90 minutes, the entire time I was just thinking about how this was all going to end so soon. My wife and I did the hot stone treatment, they used the hot stones only on my back felt really good. Everywhere else was like a deep tissue massage. Going to give this place another shot to see if its going to become my go to place when in need of massage. Hot. Stone. Massage. Ask for a massage from Mary, the owner, who is the best I've had there. She's strong! I've never experience the use of stones, but the past several visits, they have use the stones which feels very therapeutic and calming because of the warmth of the stones. I had a great massages by Peter, Mary, and Amy. I've never had a bad massage here. This is the first time where someone checked if I was OK as many time as he did. He didn't use his elbows as much as other Chinese foot massage places which I liked and rather used pressure in his hands. What I disliked is that the lady at the front desk pushed for $10 tip for each person. Not good -- maybe they need to change the name of this "tip" to service fee as we should be able to tip any amount we want. $10 seems to be acceptable minimum tip amount at these kind of places. At some places a $5 tip will get you a mean look by the masseuse. I wouldn't "tip" $10 if you didn't like your massage. Don't be ashamed to tell the masseuse/masseur to not massage you in certain places, or if you need a stronger or lighter massage. $20 for their happy hour rate $25 for a one hour foot massage $45 for one hour and half massage I would definitely go with one hour and half foot massage if you like your masseur/masseuse. Ladies don't know how to do it at all. I get cold and felt so uncomfortable in dark small room. Next to my room was strange noises and I couldn't relax. When they finished our "massage" they was standing next to room and waiting for tips. I gave 5$ to each, but they said to us that it's 10$ min for tips! Whaaaat? I've been here a few times and I think a 3 star rating is fair because I've had a 50/50 experience here. Sometimes I have AMAZING massages here in a private room, and there are hot stones involved and the full walk on my back thing happens....but then I come back and I have someone essentially rub lotion on me in a room with other people and no one walks on my back - boohoo! I don't come here too often, so I forget I had a bad experience and then have a good one and then return to have a bad one...its a vicious cycle! All this to say, if you come here, its a crap shoot. It's clean, cheap, they are nice but the language barrier is tricky, so try to articulate what you want - Ask for a private room, ask for pressure and make sure you ask for the right massage as they have a few different options. Went here last Monday for a walk-in around 3pm. Was a little disappointed. Was greeted by a friendly man and woman and shown to my room. The rooms are relatively short-walled spaces with curtain dividers. You can hear EVERYTHING going on in the next stalls over. The whole setup almost seemed temporary; not my idea of serene or relaxing. Got the combo Thai/Sweedish massage but was quite disappointed. The walking on my rear and legs was good, but not so good on my back. Also, the massage therapist dug into my arms so hard I had a large bruise. I just didn't feel particularly relaxed when all was said and done. This was my first massage at a place that wasn't my chiropractor's clinic and I don't think I'll be back. They beat you here. It's not a massage. Nothing but standing and jumping on my back numerous times, ending with scratching my back. I did the hour back massage and honestly waste of money. Go elsewhere. All they do is watch the clock, beat and jump on your entire body. Then while I was paying for such a horrendous massage I was going to leave a $7 tip on a $35 tab (EXACTLY 20%) and the woman had the audacity to say "you tip $10. Its $10" I was so upset that they even said that I told them first of I'm leaving you 20% and a tip is based upon the client! It was so horrible! Oh how I love this place. every time I go i am never disappointed. I think I've been there so many times I've gotta a massage from each person that works there and they are all wonderful. Each have their own unique way and they all make sure you are doing ok. they take great note of areas you do or don't need work on. The rooms are dim and they play soft relaxing music. I recommend the 1 hour full body massage with oil and hot stone. it's amazing they massage your face your head your fingers to your toes. if I could go every day I would. I really like "Mary's vibe and want to support women in business, which is why I hesitated to post this review. It will make sense to her if she could translate in her language to her employees. When did gratuity become mandatory? What percent is honorable for any service? What do you do when you tip and the recipient behaves "disappointed", angry, chasing you out the door, rude and demand more tip? After years of staying away from these type places, I decided to try hers again. Another therapist, years ago, popped my semitendonosis in 3 places on 1st step so I have trauma. Today, I was tired, housing a migraine and really bad sciatica from a 3-day flight. I tipped 19% cash, cause it wasnt bad. Im very athleticly crafted, so having someone walk on the back releases some, tho not the only way. After 90 mins, I still have sciatica and more hamstring pain. I did not let her walk on the trauma area, but then she did nothing else there. Maybe she didnt have any other tools/skills for that. When I handed her the 19% tip she reluctantly took it, demanded $5, then followed me to the door and locked it aggressively behind me. I was actually gonna see if I had more cash in my car, but perplexed cause of how rude she was! When I told Mary what happened and that I was still in pain next day, she said "massage is for relaxation, if you have pain, go to ER or see a Doctor". I think "language barrier", hence my post. I do believe 15%-25%) is customary, voluntary tip based on service. When I told her that, she said "not for massage, that's for food and restaurant"! I tip even when not happy, when I stay the whole time hoping itll get better. I think if I left early, she could've had another client so I tip so. Her rude reaction is typical of these places. They dont tell you upfront that they demand a different standard of tipping. I spoke with some colleagues and now I understand that in China, theres no concept of tipping, so they have a different idea of how it works. They dont know its not general knowledge that they work based on a cut between therapist and boss thats already averaged out at a higher %. My "generous 19%" did not meet up. Being rude to your customers however isnt the way. You chase away business by complaining about "half of fish when you demanded a whole fish". Do you prefer no tip and no customer? How about telling your customers upfront that you have a different approach, rather than ruining the experience when dissappointed in what you get? Dont be rude and shame people for voluntary gratuity. Id rather you refuse service, but even then, be kind, not rude, especially if you werent very good. Clients tip based on how good "we think" your work was and our personal economics, not based on your demands and cultural issues, and massage is not just for relaxation. 3 stars for Mary despite all, but I hope she adjusts to American tipping and know anything in excess given freely is a bonus. Nothing beats gratitude and respect for business and what makes a business. You cant survive without customers and tips are voluntary. read more

I thought I would save a few bucks and visit this place and get a $25 foot massage. I got Kachuma and she was ok up until I flipped over and she just started poking me with her elbows which was painful.... But what was really annoying was how she ended the massage 15 min early!!!! I thought when she finished and I looked at the clock they probably thought I had selected the $20 45 min massage but when I said something about it's not being even an hour and told them to look at the clock....they kept insisting it was an hour. I read the reviews and it talked about a Peter. Could it be the same one? Well, I made an appointment and it was! I was so happy, he is the best! I got the full body and the hot stone thing is amazing. I've paid triple for massages at spas like Burke Williams and Rancho that are not this good hich is why I always tip at least $25. Frankly one of the worst massages I've ever had. And I've been to many many places in LA and all over the world. Staffs can barely communicate in English. The massage area is totally crammed, theyve at least put curtains in but the spaces are just way too tight you can barely get changed. Massage itself was terrible, the woman just clearly didn't know what she was doing and she was just hurting me all over elbowing me on my spine and leg bones, I had to push back so many times to indicate that. I could clearly tell she was rushing thru thing so she can get to the next customer, which is not pleasant. Yesterday, I had my first massage at Superior. Before leaving my review, I wanted to "sleep" on my experience to see if my thoughts/feeling would have changed. But, they did not. I'm still angry about the money I wasted. I went in for a FEET ONLY massage. The lady started working on my head, which I specifically asked to be avoided. Also, they make you pay BEFORE the massage, which I've never done at any other place. The massage was supposed to be 45 minutes, but from start to finish, it was exactly 35 minutes. However, somewhere in between my session, the lady who was "working" on me, disappeared for about 5 minutes, so it was more like 30. The "massage" itself was awful. Leaving, I felt less relaxed than I did upon walking in. If I were you, I'd go elsewhere so you don't end up wasting your money like I did! read more
