Came here for a pistol optic battery. The tech proceeded to install the battery on his own accord and proceeded to bend a piece inside the optic. I take the optic trying to bend the prong back into place which causes it to snap and fall out of the optic. Then they tried blaming me and saying im the one that broke it and refuse to compensate me for breaking my optic. Would not go here for anything and would try other businesses that know what they are doing. read more

I visited Superior Lawn and Gun for the first time to attend their Ladies Firearms Training class. I was very nervous but the instructor and staff put me at ease. The instructor was very knowledgeable, and the course was informative and engaging. I left feeling more comfortable, empowered, and capable. I have also been to Superior for practice at their range and for skills testing. Each experience was a good one, and the staff is very helpful. However, I rated them at 4 stars because I was hoping to try different guns out, but the selection for rentals was limited. I'm not sure if that has changed. I'm also looking forward to checking out the date night they offer. read more

It's been a while since my last review of Superior Pawn and Gun, located just off of Lynnhaven Parkway in the heart of Virginia Beach, despite several visits in between my last review and this one. I'm very cautious when I visit a gun range. I take safety very seriously and I'm not about to put my life in danger by being around people who don't take guns and gun safety seriously. An integral aspect of this concept is the RSO (Range Safety Officer.) I always pay close attention to them before I enter into a range. Are they paying attention to everyone? Do they strictly enforce the rules of the range? The professionals at Superior take gun safety very seriously and they do not tolerate carelessness with anyone mishandling their firearms. I really appreciate that and I don't tolerate anything less and neither should you. read more

I purchased a weapon from them and brought it in today with an obvious defect, they even acknowledge the defect right before they told me they were going to do nothing about it and that I could contact the manufacturer directly. This is probably my third or fourth visit to a gun range in the span of about 6 or 7 years so I don't go too often. Luckily, I was going with a friend who was a gun enthusiast and goes on a weekly basis so I was in good hands. He recommended going here as we didn't have to pay an additional lane fee because I was coming as his guest and we were actually able to share a lane (we were using one of their bigger lanes). My friend brought with him a rifle and a pistol so I only had to pay for ammo which was about $30 for 100 rounds total which wasn't too bad at all. There were several targets for us too choose from and we choose the ones more so with actual targets/colors and we can easily determine who's target belongs to who. The lane was clean and it was easy to set up and get started. I had a really fun time at the range and we didn't have any issues whatsoever. You can save a lot of money if you bring in your own gun and you can even bring in your own ammo as long as they weren't steel tips. The employees here were friendly and they carried a variety of guns and ammo and accessories. I would come here again if I wanted to go to the gun range again any time soon. read more

No integrity and poor attention to detail! Bout a brand new full size Sig Sauer P320 (9mm x 19) the store for $1,100. Got home and did some more research on the hand gun and noticed the handle plates had been changed for plain handle plates with no "SIG" marking to be found! That is pretty low! I also bought a S500 Moss Berg shot gun along with a shotgun strap. The salesman asked his coworker if the strap was right for the shotgun. The coworker said, yeah "sale it to him" it is a sling it will fit. The sling does not fit. The sling hooks are to big for the S500. read more

A 10.5 inch palmetto state rifle with aftermarket handstop, streamlight, aimpoint, drop in flat faced trigger and ambidextrous charging handle on top of magpul grip and mags. Offered me $250 for that... absolutely garbage offer i sold a glock at a different location for $200. I dont know the guys name that helped me but he was a retied navy master at arms. My first visit to this range was for the Women's CCW permit class. Let me start off by saying I was very nervous to go into a range with a bunch of beginner shooters. My family is very gun-friendly so I have some background in proper gun handling, but I was worried about safety among people who didn't have the same background (we all know common sense isn't so common). However, I cannot speak highly enough of Kim and how she ran this class. I'm not a first time shooter, but very much a beginner. The class was very detailed, and I love that it covered the safe handling and use of both semi-auto pistols and revolvers. Kim made sure everyone was very comfortable with all the information before we went out onto the range, and gave explanations in terms any person could understand, regardless of their experience level. Her lessons on determining your dominant eye, how to sight and aim earned me a perfect score on my target, so her teaching methods provided excellent results. She also had great suggestions for women and our options for concealed carry holsters, as well as some tips when it comes to shopping for your own personal protection weapon. I also liked that she added other defense tactics such as being aware of your surroundings, locating exits in the event of a threat, and acknowledging what it will take for you to feel your life is in danger. Most "gun people" I know try to act like heroes when they discuss self defense, but Kim was very knowledgeable in advising us that the best way to win a gun fight is to not show up. Just because you carry doesn't mean you're volunteering for a fire-fight. Be safe and get out of the situation if you can. GREAT information & advice. I left with with a great comfort and confidence in my own ability to safely handle & shoot any handgun I come across. Please read review all the way through! First off, Mike was wonderful and greatly helped my husband and I find a good quality gun. He was extremely helpful, patient, and knowledgeable. The whole experience was pleasant despite them being very busy on a Sunday afternoon. All was fantastic until time to check out. The ONLY reason for this 1 star is due to the extremely rude and unprofessional interaction I had with the young woman who works there that has reddish-blonde hair, probably in her twenties. Keep in mind, it is very difficult for me to leave bad reviews especially when it pertains to calling out a specific person, but this absolutely needs to be addressed by the stores managerial staff. As I'm going to hand her my card to pay, she looks at me, rolls her eyes, won't put her hand out to accept my card and says "That was just so gross what you just did" (verbatim). I had briefly bit hangnail and with OTHER HAND I pulled my credit card out to hand it to her. She then proceeds to rudely walk away and come back to grab my card with a *paper towel* - with the way she took it with the paper towel you would've thought she was cleaning up dog poop. I quite honestly was in disbelief in how she spoke those things to me and was initially really confused. Nobody wants to be touching something with slimy spit on it that someone handed you that just had all their fingers in their mouth. That was absolutely NOT this situation. If she had a concern about how "sanitary" my card was, she could've used hand sanitizer or asked politely asked if I would wipe my card off with hand sanitizer and I would've been more than happy to do so! There was no hand sanitizer in sight. I would have taken no offense to that. But the sheer fact she interacted with me *AS A PAYING CUSTOMER* the way she did had to have been the worst customer service I've ever experienced, and extremely inappropriate. I do not say that lightly. You absolutely DO NOT speak to a customer in that way or say things of that nature they are paying your business almost $1,000. It's never appropriate in any situation. Upon leaving we told Mike how thankful we were for his help and how we had great customer service, except for the situation with the young woman. She then proceeds to run her mouth at my husband saying, "Sorry if I don't want to touch a card that was just split on, it's a global f**ing pandemic, get the f**k out of here!" Is this appropriate? Please, if it is acceptable to speak to someone like this - let alone a paying customer - let me know! Seems like we've lost touch with human decency. I am extremely sad to write this review. I truly hope this young woman understands the level of inappropriateness she exhibited. I hope and suggest that management handle this situation in a manner that shows that. Since COVID I have not re upped my range membership for several reasons, price gauging on both ammo and guns! For over two years they were almost doubling MSRP on firearms and ammo because these could... they have hired staff with no actual firearms knowledge and continue to go back on their word " anything posted on social media will not be honored after the sale" case in point FFL fee's and honoring range extensions during COVID. If you want quality service and ethical sales practices go any where else... I have made my last three purchases from freedom flat 150$ marked up from MSRP and no pressure sales. read more

This review is for the firing range and class instruction at Lishelle. Beyond ammo I haven't purchased other merchandise. Once I rented a pistol. The staff members are friendly. As a woman and a beginner I've felt welcome each visit. Walking in solo to inquire about classes I was greeted in a friendly, helpful manner. Concealed carry handbags and purses are immediately next to the entrance, a wise merchandising move to make women comfortable. I've practiced on the range with my husband, a non-member and have been the guest of a friend who is a member. Check-in was always smooth. I've never experienced a wait-time for a lane. The range attendants have always been good. Superior has various deals such as "date night", discounted yearly membership deals when you take certain classes &/or purchase a firearm, ladies can use the range for free with a paying customer, if you're a member you can bring a guest. Membership is $200/year, $100/6 months, which allows you to use either range, VB Blvd or Lishelle. Renewal is $125. The regular range fee is $15 so do the math for yourself. I've taken two classes here, Ladies Only Concealed Carry/Basic Pistol Safety and Ladies Next Level Pistol. For each Kim was the lead instructor in the classroom. She's serious, of course stressing safety over and over, yet she makes learning fun and keeps it interesting. Phil was co-instructor during range time for each class. Both are excellent, encouraging instructors who connect with students and make absolute beginners comfortable. Listen to them, apply their guidance on such things as grip, use of the trigger, stance, etc. and your accuracy will improve immediately. The tuition is very affordable. I'm giving 5 stars and yet I'll critique a bit. The range is cold in the winter. Some of the minor equipment in the range is a bit worn out. The ammo tends to be on the expensive side. These are little things worth mentioning but not enough to bump down a star. read more

All in all this was a great indoor firing range experience. My girlfriend and I were in town right after Christmas to visit her mom and dad. We came here with her father to have some bonding time. I believe the range goes to about 25 meters, which isn't too bad even for iron sights on a rifle if you bring the right targets. My girlfriend, her father and I brought his M14, judge revolver, Colt 45 and Glock 22. We were there about 3 hours all together and had a blast. The firearm sales selection is very extensive as well. It's one of the best I've seen. They have a great deal of variety from semi automatic pistols and revolvers to rifles and shotguns. We spent about half an hour browsing after we were finished on the range. All the staff were very nice and accommodating. Also if you are a member you can bring one guest for free and ladies are free! So you can bring two guests for free! read more

They never have given ooff that "you're just a dumb girl" vibe. Lane rental----good price as I'm a member :) ...... On weekends you may have a wait list. Sometimes you have to deal with young men being show offs in the next lane...(mines bigger'n yours types). But it's a good place to practice and unwind. Interesting little range (and I do mean little). Went on a Saturday afternoon on a visit from D.C. Interestingly, they offer a "ladies free when accompanied by a man" discount. This place could be a bit intimidating for first timers, but does the job for folks with a bit more experience. The lanes are super old school and have seen better days. What a great time! We found this place through groupon. My past experience with groupon usually results with poor customer service by the establishment. This place did the opposite. The staff was friendly, professional, informative, patient, and very helpful. With a wide selection of guns, it was difficult to choose which one I wanted. I told a staff member that I didn't want too much kick back, so she suggested a 9mm. My friend chose the 44 magnum. We were then escorted to the back where they showed us how to handle the gun, load the gun, and went over safety. The range was ice cold, so I suggest dressing warm. Ladies shoot for free with a paid customer. Also, they do date nights on certain nights. Definitely will be back again. read more
