I've been a home owner for over 30 years, and this is the worst experience with any type of contractor that I have ever used. On July 22, 2022, Superior Roof Solutions took off my old tile roof and replaced plywood and other damaged wood. After doing this, David Sager told me that it was going to take six months to get the tiles we contracted him for, and tried to switch us off to shingles. His first mistake was taking off the roof before he knew he could get the tiles. We had a historic amount of rain in Southern California since that date. The roof remained just plywood until fall when we knew the first storm was coming, and just as the rain was about to start his crew finished putting plastic over the plywood. The roof still leaked during the storms. I tried very hard to work with David, giving him the benefit of the doubt. His online profile here on Yelp had been perfect. All five-star reviews, except one that sounded unreasonable to me. Because of the great reviews at the time here, I thought I could trust him to finish the job, at least at some point, so I kept working with him. A few months ago, he finished the tile roof over the main house, but, did not finish the roof over our indoor pool. His crew also left trash all over the property including nails and other things that were dangerous to our grandchildren and pets. He was supposed to replace our rain gutters, and took them off, disposed of them and never installed new ones, which were part of the contract. As we were coming up to July 22 of this year, I tried calling David. His mailbox was full and not receiving any messages. Same thing with the company phone. I emailed him and told him that if he could complete the job by July 22nd, I'd work with him, but, if that date came and went and my roof wasn't complete after a solid year, I would find someone else to complete the job. Today is July 24th and I am interviewing other roofers to get the job finished. Since he started the job with us. the Yelp reviews have gone to one-star with several other people saying they have had similar problems, including getting liens filed against their property. I checked his license, and it's been revoked due to not having Workers Comp coverage. I checked his bond and it's also revoked. I'm so disappointed because by all appearances this company did a good job for many years, and for some reason has gone the other way. read more

This is a long time coming, I really held out that David would be true to his warranty, but unfortunately he ghosts his customers. We had hired David and his company to re-roof our leaking house. He is quite responsive and they did a quick job, everything looks pretty good. However, the point of fixing a leaky roof is to keep water from coming into the home. However, our roof STILL LEAKS. I did call him after a rain when we discovered that there was a problem, he did answer the call and sent a crew the next day...I was amazed...but then they failed to find the leak after about 30 minutes, so they packed up and left without saying anything and we have never heard from him again despite many failed attempts at phone calls, and texts. meanwhile we have had several rains since and i was even on the roof fighting the leak during a storm because water was POURING into the house destroying the drywall I believe I have found the leak area on my own ( appears to be some seams ). I just wish he'd come by and spend a little time identifying the spot and patching it over. I am willing to pay for a spot check because the peace of mind and trust in the roof not damaging the interior of the home is more important than the money to do a spot repair. I paid for an entire roof repair that still leaks, and its unacceptable for him to not put a tiny bit of effort to have 1 guy come and work on it, in order to keep his reputation. It's bad business, and completely illogical. Ironically I can find his crew working on my house in his promotional photos. Anyway, I really wanted to be able to reccomend him, I have literally waited 2-3 years to write this because I beleive he desereved a chance to redeem his character, what a disappointment. Under NO circumstances hire this company! This is a rather long review but bear with me here. I manage a few properties for a long time client of mine. We first hired Superior Roof Solutions in Summer 2022 to do a roughly $50,000 re-roofing job. A few weeks after they finished, my client received a lien on his property from Superior's supplier because Superior Roofing hasn't paid their bills with them. $18,000!!! After a longer back and forth my client decided to pay this so he gets the lien removed. After a long back and forth David paid us back about $3,500. Cue in 2023 and the brand new roof is leaking. He promised to fix it. They eventually fixed it but it took months. Mind, we haven't gotten a single payment from him in months and he still owes us over $14,000. Few weeks later, we discovered a bad leak at another property my client owns. We discuss this a bit and decided we give David another chance and let him work off his debt. I discuss this job in length with him and told it that it is of upmost importance that the roof is removed by Wednesday because we have a mold inspector scheduled. He assures me 100 times they will make that happen. Comes Monday, two of his workers show up, remove a few square feet of roofing and LEAVE!!!! He then tells me plans have changed because they need to change the plywood. Please mind that the plywood was even part of the estimate! They could stayed and started removing other parts of the roof but he decided to leave. We then also discovered that David's license is suspended (again) so the contract is completely void. Needless to say, we're back on bringing legal action against Superior Roof Solutions and also filing a complaint with the contractors state license board for him operating with a suspended license. Honestly, this guy needs to be stopped. Please feel free to contact me if you want to team up in lawsuit against this company. Little update: Turns out they apparently only work with subcontractors and guess what? They don't pay them as well. Be very careful!!! Suppliers and Subcontractors can file liens on your property when they are not paid. Even if you pay the contractor in full! read more

We hired David to tear down and replace our roof. David was very responsive and his prices were reasonable. His crew's were timely and they cleaned up after themselves. I was very pleased with the service and I even recommended him to a friend who also hired him to repair a leaking tile roof. They were also pleased with his crew's work. The issues started after the job was done, a few months later I received notice of a Mechanic's Lien being placed on my property for unpaid roofing materials from the company that he purchased the roofing materials from. After a few panicked phone calls to David and to the company that placed the Mechanics Lien, they reversed the mechanics lien a week later after David paid them. I paid David in full via check during the job so getting a Mechanic's Lien was a terrible experience. The bigger issue has been Davids lack of follow-up to leak that we discovered around our chimney during last year's major rain events. I followed up with David over the course of a few weeks to come resolve the issue and finally he sent someone to come seal around the chimney. unfortunately that did not fix the leak and water continued to leak into the house, causing water to fall between the wall and the chimney bricks. This has now been over a year now and David has still not sent someone out to look at the leak again. in has told me a few times that he would send someone or that he would come personally just to not show up. He said the cause was the company that installed our rain gutters. The water is coming in from around the chimney so I am not sure how that is possible. Even if that was the case, the fact that I have been calling and texting him for well over a year and this is still not resolved is completely unacceptable. Unfortunately I can no longer to hope that he will come resolve the issue. It's too bad because he was such a nice and reasonable person when the job started. read more

They did a roof repair for me last year after a wind storm. Now my roof is leaking with all this rain. There's a buldge under my skylight where they supposedly repaired the broken shingle. I've tried several times to get ahold of the company. ZERO RESPONSE. I've messaged through Yelp, called and left voice-mails & texted. To no avail. What do I have to do? I did not want to write this review but I have been left with few options. Our experience with Superior Roof Solutions and David HAS BEEN A MAJOR DISASTER. My wife and I wanted to install a new roof and after getting a few estimates, we decided on this company based on the positive reviews. We reached out in mid-October, signed an agreement shortly after, and we were told that the job would begin in a week and taking about a week. To me, this meant the job would be completed before November. After this, there was no contact for a while. I followed up October 31 and inquired about the timeline. David told me they would start soon. Ten days passed and nothing happened. I followed up again and was finally told that the job would begin in mid-November. Workers came November 16 and worked for two days to remove the old roof. At that time I gave them a partial payment. I received a phone call on the 17th asking me what my choice for the new roof would be. I responded by email two days later with my answer. David acknowledged my message and that was last I heard from anyone from the company for THE NEXT TEN DAYS. During those days (and I know part of it was Thanksgiving weekend), there were no calls, no emails, no updates on what the plan was. Meanwhile, heavy rain was forecast and I had no roof (just plywood above my house). Worst of all, when I checked the company's license, it had been suspended AND the permit they pulled for my house was VOID. After many phone calls, texts, and emails, I finally heard back from David saying that he had been out of the country. I asked for a refund for the work NOT being completed and for the contract not being honored and I was told that he would work something out. I said that would be great because I really wanted to work this out and allow both parties to move on amicably. Then it was silence again despite many attempts to follow up. Unbelievable. The lack of communication and follow-through has been disappointing, to say the least. I really, really did not want to write this review but I also do not want anyone else to go through the same experience I have. read more

Not a reliable company and would not recommend them to anyone. I had several quotes from different companies. We spoke on 9/22/2022 and scheduled for David to look at it in person on 9/9/26/22. David came to my house and provided a quote on 9/28/22 which was a reasonable price. We confirmed the quote on 10/10/22. On 10/11/22 I sent David the exact type of roofing that I wanted. He told me that he would order the material and would let me know when he did so that I could pay that company directly for the material. Then I did not hear from him. I waited some time. A month later, I reached out to David on 11/13/22 and asked for an updated to see if the material was ordered which he didn't initially respond to, I'm assuming because it was Sunday. On Monday, 11/14/22, David text me saying the tile order was placed. He said he would check on a delivery date and would let me know. I was a little curious as to him even making the purchase since he didn't tell me the company to have me pay them directly which is what he initially stated. I waited several more weeks, just before Thanksgiving I called David and spoke with him. He ensured me that the roof would be done prior to Christmas. I asked about the material and he said it was going to take about 2-3 weeks to receive it because they do not have the material stocked in the warehouse. It has now been 3 weeks!!! And I called David with no response so I left a voicemail. He didn't return my call. I text him yesterday for an update, with no response. I finally sent David a text today letting him know his service is no longer needed. Very frustrating because he wasted about 3 MONTHS of my time when I could have had another company replace my roof. In 2022 I had Superior Roof Solutions do an expensive re-roof where it replaced my shingles after putting down a plywood base. Twelve months later my patio cover, which abuts next to a room addition, began leaking. Considering several issues that I had with this contractor - to include rafters under the eaves which were split by nails when the plywood was mounted, holes for electric attic fans not cut to proper size, difficulty getting LAWDP cool roof rebate information in a timely manner, as well as the fact that my "new" roof leaked just 12 months after being installed - I chose to pay a different contractor to do the leak repair. The second contractor team doing the repair work for the roof leak found shingles which had lifted up. They removed a large section of the shingles and then used a different method to secure a water tight seal against the room addition than had been used my the original contractor. Unfortunately there are two other sections of my roof that may need additional work in the future. If I knew a year ago what I know now I would not have chosen Superior Roof Solutions to be my roofing contractor. read more

I had a bad leak in my patio roof that it caused some wood panels to rot. I used Yelp and had seven different companies come out to give free estimates. I examined their credentials, their experience, their price, and their attitude. I chose Superior Roof Solutions because the owner (David) : a) showed great knowledge of what needed to be done without being pushy b) gave me a fair and honest price that was affordable and reasonable c) backed up his work with a 12-year warranty on both labor and parts d) seemed trustworthy and reliable I am happy to say that after the project was finished, I am certain I made the right choice. David's crew came early in the morning and did a fantastic job. They explained to me everything they were going to do in detail and did it well. I am posting pictures of the completed work. David was also kind enough to fix some minor issues I had with some loose shingles at another part of my roof as part of the package. They also did a great job cleaning up everything. The next day, David came back and examined everything; made sure I was happy with everything before he accepted payment. Overall- five stars for five-star work. I highly recommend this company to anyone who is looking for an honest roofer that does excellent work with a strong 12-year warranty. read more

David and his team are amazing! Our garage roof was leaking so bad and with more rain coming, we needed to get someone in and have it repaired fast! David showed up on time and was friendly and super knowledgable. He answered all my questions and was able to give me options based on what I wanted and my budget. I received the official estimate and signed the paperwork the same day (which is a huge plus for me)! The first crew showed up and removed the old roof. They did an OUTSTANDING job with clean up!! There were probably 100s of nails in the original roof and when the crew was done and gone, we could barely tell that any demo had taken place. They even cleaned up the garage floor (which was a disaster from the demo). When they left, the garage was clean! The next day, the installation crew showed up bright and early and on time. They were all very polite and professional and even finished the work earlier than expected. They did such an amazing job! The roof looks perfect (like a dollhouse) and they cleaned up so well! Literally, I can't tell that any major work was done. David made sure to show up and check in with me on both days! This made things run so smoothly and efficiently. We got rain today and the roof doesn't leak!!!! Needless to say, I am VERY impressed with this company and we will be hiring them again this fall to do the house roof (which has solar panels on it). David is well priced, prompt to respond, punctual, and the quality of his work is A grade! So happy to have found David. He is our go-to and recommended roofer now. Our experience working with David Sager at Superior Roofing Solutions was nothing less than ideal! He was so informative and transparent about the roofing system he recommended and even brought a physical model so we could see all of the layers of material that would be involved. I got the sense that he wanted us to be confident in the decision we were making and gave us all of the information we needed. Fair warning! This is a hit and run company. Had work done to one side of our roof with a leaking skyline back in 2022. Less than two year later after the recent storm entire ceiling buckled around the skyline. Tried multiple times calling and leaving messages to the owner, David, without response. Ten year labor warranty is worthless when he ghosts you. Recent inspection by another company revealed how shady and incompetent their work were. There were multiple areas around the skyline where tiles were not seated properly leaving gaping holes for water entrance. Improper flashing did not hold up and resulted in water entrance, etc... We needed a flat roof section on our house repaired due to a leak. SRS were a well reviewed company, and we called after a few comparisons. David was highly responsive, checked the roof, gave a reasonable estimate and we scheduled the work to be done within a week. The 4 person crew was very professional, efficient, and left everything clean. Old materials were removed, a base sheet nailed down, followed by (cool roof!) ModBit that was torched on, they added metal edging and new shingles at the sloped roof seam. One company was too lazy to come here and just did a google maps search and said my roof was very old and needed a replacement. For a ton of money (twice what it should be). Others said all different things. This company sent someone out; I got a good vibe right away. He actually took photos on the roof and explained to me in language I could understand. And knew how many layers I had. And didn't try and sell me an expensive new roof. "You still have life left in this roof; we will repair it". Repair it they did, today. Got photos of finished repairs and a clear explanation. Hoping for no leaks lol. He showed up on time, quickly assessed and fixed the issue, and because it only required tightening a few screws and adding some calk he didn't even charge me. On top of that, while up there he noticed our skylight was missing a panel that blew away, took a photo a measurements and texted them to me so I could easily order a replacement panel! Honest. Well priced. Prompt response. Always available. There was a minor issue with pulling the permit because my property is a multi unit- That wasn't their fault though. David was communicative the whole way through and we eventually worked it out. They were tidy, hauled all the trash and left my property looking better than when they arrived. They also covered my open roof in plastic when there was a small chance of rain, before the city inspection, without any trouble.
