As someone who's been visiting Toledo since college, I had no clue this was even here? From what the internet says, they've been open since 2004. They have a variety of nicer stores and restaurants to choose from with ample parking throughout. The place is clean, well maintained and easy to get in and out of regardless of what you're here for. I was pleasantly surprised with the variety of experiences you could have here. Toledo is really trying to revamp their image and I'm glad this place is around. No more Franklin Park Mall for me! (unless it's Dillards, but that's rare.) Thank you to whomever put this outdoor mall here, as it's really a nice addition to a duller part of town.

The librarian at the desk was super friendly, and kind enough to mention some cool things of note, especially after we mentioned we were both librarians who worked with kids! When we told them we wanted the money for parking refunded they responded they don't manage the money in their department it's sent to some other department and there wasn't anything they could do to help. They recommended contacting the company listed on the back of the ticket. This was followed swiftly by "Did you have any other questions?". After checking the back of the ticket we found the following: "If you have any questions call ParkSmart-Toledo Parking Violations Bureau 419-242-7515 or visit www.parksmart.org. Thank you." Luckily the ticket is only $10 and a small price to pay for me to learn that I can never trust this service again.

We got great seats next to the dug out which was prime viewing for all the action. Although we didn't get any baseballs :(. I'd seen the visiting team -- the Saint Paul Saints -- but it was back in their Northern League Days when Mike Veeck owned the team. Either way, this was outstanding baseball in a wonderful environment. As I've mentioned in other ballpark reviews, I'm a former broadcaster who has seen hundreds of baseball games at all levels across the country. Though I've been to plenty of MLB games (dating back to the days of Arlington Stadium, Veterans Stadium, Shea Stadium and the former Yankees Stadium), I'm still partial to minor league baseball. Sure, I enjoyed seeing the likes of Juan Gonzalez smashing balls into the parking lot and Curt Schilling striking out 16 Yankees (that was in 1997, and I loved it with all my heart), but seeing players who are trying to make it to the show -- or trying to make it back, such as so many players on the Mud Hens -- brings me greater joy. Seeing a game in Toledo was a bucket list thing for me, if only because of Jamie Farr's character on MASH. With such a nice little stadium and wonderful baseball to boot, I wish I'd come sooner. A couple of caveats though. First, I've paid less for parking at a Coldplay concert. Further, at least those lots took cards. (These guys only take cash, but I'm sure the parking lot owners report their earnings to the IRS -- NOT!) Secondly, the hot dogs at this park are saltier than the Black Sea. Thank God I took a double dose of Amlodipine! But seriously, I'd come back here in a second.

When I arrived the center was closed down the a sheet of paper on the door explaining the players went on strike that day. I tried calling them at different offices but I couldn't get through to anyone for the next few days and then I had to fly overseas where I'm located all year. I purchased tickets directly from the center but they use a 3rd party service and when I contacted them I was given an agent in another country outside the USA who did everything they could not be accommodating. My simple request was for a full refund for the unusual event. The ticket prices were inflated during holiday and dropped half in value so I will lose have my value or full value if they are not sold. The rescheduled date was still to be determined.
