I love superior thrift. I once scored everlane pants for $2.99 in perfect condition! If you have an open mind and don't mind rummaging through the tons of items, you won't be disappointed. My go tos for womens clothing are the sales rack right when you enter on the left side (prices are as low as .99) and home items like vases lining the left side of the wall. For me, don't skip out on the little things-most of the times they are brand new items that are super useful (like travel bags for cosmetics and hats of all kinds...even those cab boy ones). There are certain days discounted for students and seniors, too! read more

Oh, the drive. I live near Bear Creek H.S. and love saving money, so I'd definitely make the effort to drive out here. I refuse to go to the other thrift stores because they just suck so bad. I never find anything. 1 out of every 10 visits will I find anything at Big Valley Thrift or the other thrift store across the street from BVT. Without exaggeration, every single time I come here, I never leave empty handed. I've always got something to leave with! Since I've started to become a lot cheaper and find joy in reusing and remaking clothes, this thrift store is a MOTHER FRIGGIN' GEM. It's just so fun and so clean here! You don't see people walking through the aisles depressed and unable to find stuff at all. You actually see herds of families running through aisles unable to make up their minds on which pile of clothes to get. It's awesome! I love buying jeans and books here. It's never hard to find the things I want. I was able to complete my Harry Potter DVD series thanks to STS! If only I could find the Game of Thrones book series, I'd love this place even more. Occasionally, I'll buy dresses and shirts if I'm comfortable enough and it looks pretty clean. The employees here are generally really young. College students maybe? Either way, customer services is pretty great. I don't see that at any of the other thrift stores. The other stores just look like depressed employees waiting to get the hell out of work. Tip: I only, ONLY come on Thursdays because you can use the $10 off $30 on top of the student discount, allowing me to get more items and spend less than I would on any other days. read more

This place smells. But that's not a reason not to like it. This place is pure entertainment in the electronics section. The stuff they sell is good for a laugh or three because I can't believe who would buy such obsolete sh*t. It doesn't matter how cheap it is, its still utterly useless. But people still seem to buy 'em because they don't know the meaning of value... things like: A six pack of floppy discs for a buck fifty? WTF??? An electric popcorn popper (new in box) for five bucks. In case you don't have a microwave, right? I once saw an elderly gentleman perusing what appeared to be a brand new 56K modem and I thought to myself GOD I hope he buys that. Is that wrong? Enough about me and my jollies... As far as the clothes, I don't dig in the racks here because unless you have tons of time, its hard to score anything great. There's way too much crap to sift through. I wouldn't recommend it. They sell some rickety old used furniture at prices that make you start to realize what they sell isn't really THAT thrifty. They sometimes price up if they think what they're selling is somewhat antique...it's pretty disturbing. All in all, come here and be entertained even if you don't buy anything. read more

This is my favorite thrift store in Stockton. Once you get past the hookers doing their "walk of shame" on Wilson and the parking that can use a little work then you get to thrift store heaven. They have big stuff outside (furniture, exercise equipment and the like). Once you're inside you're slapped with awesome someone's-garbage-is-another-one's-treasure as you don't know where the hell to go. To the right are jewelry (I've even seen a Rolex) and other cool knick knacks. In the middle are clothes and they are organized by color and size! Amaziiinng!! I myself have gotten some cool sweaters there and my 2000 Olympics sweater that's got my friends thinking I actually went! Lol In the middle are books. I've gotten some cool fiction books there and the 50 - shades book that I refused to buy from B&N. HA! That's me sticking it to the man! To the left are electronics, more furniture and even more books! Needless to say, if you like to thrift and have hours to kill go to this place. It will definitely elevate your I "like" to thrift to "If I don't thrift I will die". Now go check it out! read more

I feel like the homeless or the random Asian ransacking a recycling dumpster for cans up in here. And then you pass up the typical 30 sumthin year old still-rockin-my-80s-do woman, the round the corner vato, and the ritzy light-skinned black woman from country club all dumpster diving with you...it feels right. I guess I'm the blue-collared-rockin-white-collared-filipino...and believe me, this is the BEST place to find suits. Since I wear suits like no white man executive's business, Superior Thrift, even though their prices has gone up considerably on T-shirts (who pays 2 bucks for a second hand T-shirt? I guess folks who shop at AF and AE...) still sells the best variety, colletion, and priced blazers and suit sets for men out of the four main Thrift shops (not goodwills) in Stockton. And they have the best variety (& prices) on furniture...not to mention SENIOR DISCOUNT TUESDAYS, during which I WILL GRAB THE NEAREST OLD MEXICAN OR FILIPINO WOMAN CRAWLING and TEAM UP WITH THEM to get my 15% (better believe I do). This is the place I got my brown velvet blazer before everyone and dey momma started the whole 'evening-casual' look with jeans. read more

This is the mega store of thrifts. Although I didn't find much of the types of things I buy from thrifts (vintage clothing/furniture/kitchenware) they did have a lot here. The boutique section seemed like it had a lot of "stuff" but not necessarily anything more valuable than what was sold on the regular sales floor. They seem to have a weird mishmash of genuinely donated goods, salvaged items or things donated from stores (lots of neon signs and new in packaged goods you'd find at a discount store like Big Lots in a locked glass case). There is a special department just for computers/software/video game tech. The best part here was the book section. Most of the titles were relatively new and it was very organized. the prices on books were fair and I ended up buying a really nice modern hardcover cookbook that was in new or very lightly used for $3.99. When I came on a Saturday afternoon it was busy. It seemed like everyone knew about this great place but me! I will return the next time I'm in the Stockton area. The prices were a bit all over the place, but if you love to hunt or dig for treasures, this is the place for you. read more

This place is amazing. Definitely one of the best thrift stores I have ever been to. You can find nice stuff, awesome vintage finds, and great sequined/beaded tops for every occasion. Sometimes there is a diamond in the rough with the book selection and that's always nice too. If you aren't into secondhand clothes, at least come here for the people watching. read more

Left the safety of my home and ventured downtown to Superior Thrift Store. It's medium sized and has racks and racks of clothes. I had to look for a bit but I found lovely blouse for only.... $1.99! Yes, $1.99! Most of their blouses are $1.99 or $2.99. Amazing! Also they have a good selection of belts, bags and scarfs hanging on the ends of each rack. I'll definitely be leaving my home for often for this thrift store. Also, don't worry about parking since they have 2 lots devoted to this store. And they do have a dressing room available so you can try on before you buy. read more

This place is fantastic. People can knit pick it, but it's got so many bargains and vintage finds which are priced to move that the minor shortcomings are more than worth it. CONS: Parking can be difficult and it does get crowded inside & out. PROS: LOW prices, plus coupons and discount days. Large variety of items from clothing to kitchenware to electronics to furniture to collectibles... etc. Some rare finds ideal for resale. Staff is usually very helpful and patient. Although there's a fee for delivery of large items, I'm so glad they provide the service. A one-stop shop for bargains! read more

The best thrift store in town overall. Best prices in town. They always have new merchandise coming in the store. This is my go-to thrift store for clothing, furniture (they always have a huge selection of picture frames), and small electronics. You can find expensive brands here more often than the other stores. And they are still priced ridiculously low! Seven jeans were priced at 4.99; too bad they weren't my size. Clothing is arranged by sex and type, i.e. coats, tops, etc. Wish it was sized but I don't think I've been to a thrift store that was so I guess that's the standard. I just moved into an apartment built circa 1954. Found a vintage waffle iron at Superior to match my yellow-tiled kitchen. In the same section, found the cord for AppleTV for 39 cents! I haven't really checked out the jewelry section but it's significantly larger than the other second-hand stores in town. Parking lot is small and awkward. Best to come on a weekday to avoid the busy crowds. read more

5 stars for the awesome crap you'll find in here. Just have patience (and make sure you dry clean or wash with lysol all the stuff you purchase from this place). I bought my cool Domino's Pizza scarf here, my brown jacket (with the effed up lining, that y'all see me wear at some Yelp events), my blue bunny ceramic planter, my papier mache piggy scupture, some cute purses... Pros: Decent amount of merchandise, from used to new at decent prices, GOOD COSTUMER SERVICE, the store offers coupons weekly in the Penny Saver, they also have sales, Senior discounts are offer, and like Sadie G. mention they do have a bathroom :). Cons: PARKING IS SOOOOO HORRIBLE they do not have enough parking space for the capacity of costumers they have on a daily basis and although they do have more parking down the street it gets jam just as the one in the store so good luck finding a parking space, also sometimes they can be kind of over price. Overall I do like this thrift store I used to visit more often but I haven't been finding stuff I'm looking for here lately but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS STORE to all you treasure hunters out there :) read more

I couldn't believe the size of this place when i walked in. Didn't smell like most thrift stores. pleasant surprise. Was looking for rugs, bedding, plastic sheeting for my 2 new puppy beds. Found a great washable rug, like new mattress plastic cover, sheets in great condition. Found some heavy dish bowls for their water. Also found a new collar ! i also needed some props for displaying my crafts when i do craft shows/festivals etc and found a great wire basket and earring stand. I walked out of there with so many items for $30. Couldn't ask for a better thrift store IMO. I have always shopped thrift stores for household items, books, pet bedding, etc. and this is the best one i've ever been to. read more

Superior Thrift comes by its name honestly. It really is superior to many other second-hand stores. It has a huge selection of clothes, pretty well organized by size, gender, etc. If you have a lot of time, you can find great stuff, both funky or functional, depending on what you need. I appreciate that Superior carries kids' clothes. Shelter Thrift and Discovery Shop have stopped carrying kids' clothes. Discovery Shop, though, is a much classier, if less exciting, thrift store, FWIW. Also, I have found some great dishware and "art." The jewelry always looks good too, although I have never bought anything. As far as downsides: Yes, it smells bad in there. Yes, it is not on a great street. Yes, the staff can be slow and gruff. Yes, the other customers can be annoying. But, hey-- it's a thrift store in a poor section of a crummy town. What d'ya expect? Go to Nordstrom if you can't handle reality. They'd get 5 stars except for parking....parking is scary sometimes cuz everyone is just trying to get into the narrow spots here. Anyway, I usually go to Outlet on Harding but they're closed Sundays so I came to Superior to see if I can find pants (I'm shrinking yay!!) Unfortunately, they don't have much in sizes 1-3 but a gazillion big sizes...so that sucks but its a sign of the times...not too many small peeps out there...anyway, I ended up walking out of here with some vintage signs, sheets (new omg), and some shorts. They also have this cute display of home decorations by the dressing rooms that looks better than anything in the Mall. I also saw some designer brands WITH TAGS BRAND NEW for under $10. read more

One of my favorite thrift stores here in Stockton and usually the first place I go to, to bond with my mom and aunt. lol. I love going through the racks of clothes since there's so much to look through. Name brands here and there, it's like a fun hunt. I'll be honest, this is where I get all my jeans. Love this place, but it's funny how when I was hecka younger I despised going here. Most of the employees there are youngins, but every time I go the older ones always seem uptight. This place is great! First, the store is huge. Second, the prices are cheap (for most of the stuff anyway). Third, the store does coupons and sales. Fourth, the people who work there are really nice and pretty helpful. Fifth, they have a bathroom for customers (yes, that is important if one wants the customers to stay forever in this huge store). After reopening the store and having to wait in line for at least 30 minutes. Is not worth it. This used to be my favorite store for the longest time. Now. I've been der 2-3 times since they open and it's the same merchandise on the racks. Or I should say the whole start has the same merchandise. Could be their not getting donation. Who knows. All I know. Is I wish they could get back to normal as far as the merchandise goes. As for the waiting in line we'll that the way it is and we just have to deal with it. Superior is just as the name states. This is a once a month stop for me, and I am always able to find some great things. It is my favorite thrift store in the area by far. This is one of the worst thrift stores if you want to ride your bike to. I chained my bike to there rack when I came out my 900.00 dollar bike was not there. I have been venturing into thrift stores every so often for the past 10 years. When I have the stamina and time I try to check out thrift stores and try to find treasure. And I can honestly say that this thrift store contains a LOT OF GOODIES. This store is HUGE. It has racks and racks upon racks of clothes for both men, women, and children. There is also a section for furniture and side sections for jewelry, wall decor and home decor. This place seriously is a black hole filled with EVERYTHING. I have to admit that plenty of the clothes (I am a 23 year old who generally shops at forever21, uo, and hm) are crap. But if you take the time you will find beautiful items of clothing, or even modern day trends for REALLY CHEAP. I'm talking about shirts that range from 1-5 dollars and coats that are no more than 10. I've even gotten a really cute wooden desk for 14 dollars. I absolutely love this place and for the next year while I live in stockton, I will try to come here once a month to find my treasure. There is a decent sized parking lot that is located right in front of the store. 9/10 times I am able to find parking. The only time I couldnt was the week of christmas, so I wasnt really surprised. But there is a back lot with more parking with just a block walking distance. The only downside to this place, and I refuse to give it less than 5 stars, is that its closer to downtown, so although its kinda safe, I have gotten the hassling whistlecalling. It can be kind of scary to come here at night or if youre a young female going by yourself. Also the place smells a bit like sewage but you eventually get used to it. If you are a clean freak I would also advise you to bring some hand sanitizer. Come well rested! I would also double wash your clothes. Some of the clothes Ive gotten required dry cleaning but I was too lazy and washed them in the wash anyways. They came out perfectly fine. read more

I'm a Thrifts store lover and I love This store! Even tho I can Never get parking. But there price on tops and toys or insanely crazy. That's what makes me come here almost everyday. So much selection compare to all the thrifts store in Stockton. Monday's are 20% off markdown price Tuesday are seniors 20% off Thursday are 20% off teacher and student with school photo ID. My favorite thrift store ever! I have been to this store for many years and every single time I find something to take home with me. I am moving into a new apartment which requires a lot of furniture and this was my go to thrift store! I was able to pick up a few items including some amazing living room chairs. With a little DIY and a staple gun, I was able to reupholster these babies into masterpieces. Best part is that the chairs only costed $10 a piece, which is a total bargain! The clothes here are priced fairly, however some items seem to be overpriced but still heavily discounted if you were buying new. Tip: come in the morning when they first open to get your hands on some amazing merchandise! There are people waiting at the door right when it opens. (It's totally worth it!) read more
