Waited 2 hours for a car from laguardia airport. This reservation was made 2 days in advance. The customer service rep first said there was no car assigned but it would take 45 minutes. I could have hailed a cab if they were honest about the time. The driver was great but I would not recommend supershuttle to anyone. They do not respect your time. read more

SuperShuttle is an okay option to take TO the airport, but I don't recommend taking them FROM the airport. Both times I've taken a SuperShuttle from EWR I've waited nearly an hour once I checked in with them after receiving my luggage. On the most recent trip, I tried messaging the driver to ask for an ETA four separate times and never received a response back. After waiting for 50 minutes, I called their 800 number to ask for a status update, at which point they transferred me to their local number (without telling me they were doing this). The person at the local number told me that it would be another 15 minutes at the same exact time that the driver showed up. It seems their "Vehicle Locator" isn't accurate or there's a breakdown in communication with the corporate office and the drivers. Either way it's very frustrating when you've just had a long flight and want to get home. Once we were finally on the way home I asked the driver if he had received my messages and he said yes, but then didn't explain why he didn't reply back to me?? I can only assume that the reason that it took the driver so long to pick me up was because he was hoping to get another passenger in the van before driving me to the city. I was frequently checking the Driver Locator and he was parked at one location near EWR for 30+ minutes (SuperShuttle lot?) and then at another terminal at the airport for 20+ minutes. While going to the airport is a slightly better experience because you can wait in the comfort of your own home, it is kind of frustrating when they arrive much earlier than their 15 minute scheduled window (25+ minutes on my most recent trip). I was the first stop of three stops on the way to SFO and because the driver was much earlier than scheduled, everyone in the van ended up having to wait for each passenger pickup. read more

Every time my hotel guests book one of your shuttles, I know they'll be waiting at least 20 minutes past their scheduled pick up time, and I am never cheerfully surprised. I never really recommended you, and I never really tried to dissuade people from you either. But what I saw today was beyond the pale. After some unexpected extra charge, my guests asked for a copy of their bill to see why they were being asked to pay more. Your driver turned it into a screaming match in the street. He was waving and yelling at two elderly couples like he'd come completely unhinged, and after that display, no one in my hotel will be booking with you for as long as I work there. read more

Work for a hotel, tried confirming a guest shuttle they give you a hard time. Stephanie was refusing to give me a last initial to her name, after asking to speak with her manager because I was not satisfied she placed me on hold and said she will now be able to assist me. Rude service, if you put me on hold for a manager I would have loved to speak to one especially when a 5 minutes reconfirmation for a guest takes 15 minutes because rep was rude and was having a poker face attitude like NO, yes, can't help. I sent the following to Super Shuttle today after having the misfortune of waiting an hour for a shared van. Next time, I'll take a taxi for all the time wasted. Dear Joshua: I am so disappointed in the improper expectations set up for me upon my second leg of a round trip reservation I made 2 weeks prior to my departure. As I spoke with your customer service representative early Wednesday morning, we both deduced that making a reservation from airport to your desired destination is completely pointless. There is no system in place to make the lofty guarantees your representative made to me concerning the "half hour or less" wait time I would have to endure. A half hour turns into an hour and you have more than dissatisfied me. The system is broken. I do not believe it is beyond repair and it is appalling to me to get into a van where someone who has been waiting for less than 10 minutes has been accommodated before me, someone with a reservation, someone who waited an hour! This is not the first time I've had to endure long wait times with your company and I assure you I do not intend to remain a customer for as long as it is avoidable. I am not in the business of having my time wasted and I will never recommend your company as long as the transportation from airport to residence remains in such a disarray. The van arrives at my bldg. about half an hour before the beginning of the window of scheduled pick-up time, and the driver texts me saying that they are all waiting. When I rushed downstairs, he had the nerve to cop an attitude with me--that I was slowing them down. I suppose I should be happy that they showed up and that they weren't late--but HALF AN HOUR EARLY??? Dude, you should be grateful that I was even home that early!!! read more

I had reserved Super Shuttle ahead of time to take me from LaGuardia airport to my hotel in Manhattan. When I arrived, I called the service, was on hold for a long time & then was told it would be 45 minutes before someone would be there to pick me up. So I waited & when the shuttle arrived I was the 10th or 11th passenger to get into the 12 passenger van, so it was very crowded! Then we went into the city & started dropping off passengers at different hotels. The driver didn't bother to tell us where we were stopping & since I hadn't ever been to this hotel before, I didn't know when I got to my hotel. My flight arrived at 9:50 pm, but I didn't get to my hotel until 1:00 am! Then I was supposed to be picked up at 4:10 pm on Friday afternoon for my 7:30 pm flight and the shuttle didn't arrive until 4:50 pm - and that was after I had called at 4:25 & was told the van would be there in 10 minutes! So I didn't get to the airport until 6:00 pm, but it was after all the passengers (only six this time, thank goodness!) had to tell the driver where to go so we could get dropped off to catch our flights! So, my experience with Super Shuttle in NYC wasn't that great... read more

I've used Super Shuttle to/from EWR/Manhattan multiple times. I've done this mainly because I'm mostly too lazy to make the effort and take the train. From the airport is simple. Go to the ground transportation area. Use the special ground transportation phone to call Super Shuttle with your reservation number. A van will be there shortly to pick you up. By shortly, I mean an average of probably 30 minutes. If you are leaving from Terminal C, get ready to stop at all the other terminals, so it will probably be another 30 minutes before you leave the airport. The price is relatively cheap, so I guess the long wait and transportation time is to be expected. Unless you are going late night, traffic into Manhattan will be a nightmare. At least you won't be alone in the nightmare since there will be 9 other passengers squeezed into the van with you. Prices are set at around $20 to/from EWR. When reserving online, there is a section to add in "gratuity." When you step into the van, you will see signs all over the place that say tips are not included in the fare you've already paid. I sense a disconnect here. Drivers have been a mixed bag. Some are very nice and other seem like they hate people and should never be around anyone. Airport to whatever destination normally works out ok, but if you are relying on Super Shuttle to get you to the airport on time, make sure you allow lots (and lots) of time. You could be picked up first, but then have to stop for another 9 people. Super Shuttle also stops at residences, so drivers may not always be able to find addresses quickly. If you have lots of time, Super Shuttle is a cheap option that will eventually get you to your destination. read more

Honestly, no stars would be most appropriate. I'm in the middle of the ride from hell. My plane hit the ground three hours ago and I'm still not home. First, my wait time for pickup was 20 minutes. 45 went by, I called, was told 15 more. Got switched to a diff van. Did an hour and half of circular pickups. Driver drove like a bat out of hell so much so I just knew we would hydroplane. We just made it to the first stop in manhattan and for some reason he went inside the building and we are just out here like it isn't already 1am. I let the delivery to the airport part trick me into thinking pickup could be okay, but I swear on all that I love I will never take this from the airport again. read more

I had used their services once before and while it took a fair amount of time to get to the airport, i made it punctually and they called me 5 minutes before they arrived. HOWEVER today i had a 1:30 pm flight and i was scheduled to be picked up at 10:05-10:20. I was ready by 9:45 waiting in my lobby bc it was raining and cold. I decided to track their location w their gps service and saw that they were in my vicinity around 10:15. By 10:20, still no call or sign of the shuttle and when i check their location they seemed to have moved 2 miles south. I call them at 10:30 asking if theyd forgotten about me. The person on the other end checked with the dispatcher and said they had stopped by and saw no one, and left and would not pick me up. I almost busted a tit! I asked her why hadnt they called me as they had done before or better yet check the entrance to my building. Her lame ass excuse was, "some drivers call and some don't" and i said, what the fuck kind of protocol is that? She said they were not based in New York and they did not train those drivers. So i told her, Look mcdonalds isnt based in new york but you ask for a big mac anywhere in the usa and beyond and your ass is gon get a big mac. Then she told me i should have been outside even though i have experienced a precedent of getting a courtesy call. Bitch i aint dumb #1 it dont take nobody but 30 seconds to make that call. #2 i was told to be ready during that window but nowhere did it say my ass would have to be standing on the curb. #3 if you gon leave me (after i PAID for the service no less) u should have called me to let me know so my ass could have started looking for another ride. Then she transfered me to a lady who transfered me to another lady bc at this point i was on a level 10 and i was gonna get up in they ass till someone picked my ass up. Just before i lost my voice i demanded a refund and she told me she would put in a request and that my chances were 50/50. Well you bedt believe i found my voice again! Bitch is u smoking crack??? I will harass you day and night till you give my my money back. Thats my word. Last time i checked taking somebodys money w/o providing a service was called stealing, period point blank. Then i realized it was 11 and i needed to find a plan B, so i said to her, go to sleep cuz u a tired hoe and i hung up. I ended up calling carmell shelling out nearly $80! I hate this company. At 4:20am, the last thing I wanted to do was wait outside for an hour for the shuttle to pick me up for my flight out of JFK to SEA. I prepaid for the shuttle a few days in advance and was given a courtesy call the day before my pickup. The pickup time was between 4:20-4:35am. With no shuttle in sight, I called the customer service and asked where the shuttle was at. The dispatched told me the shuttle was late and would be arriving in 15-20 minutes. Umm ok. A courtesy call would have been nice at least. 5:10am rolls around. Still no shuttle. I am pissed. I call again asking where the shuttle is at and am given the same answer, that the shuttle would be arriving in about 15 minutes. I smell bs. I canceled the shuttle and asked for a refund. I was told that I would have to call again after my flight to receive a claim number. Ugh. I ended up grabbing a cab to get to JFK. As soon as I got in the cab, the driver calls me and asks, 'Where you at?'. EXCUSE ME? WHERE WERE YOU AT?! I had to use all the patience I had to tell him in a reasonable voice that I had left in a cab to catch my flight because he was an hour late. Who even knows if he had even arrived. When I arrived home, I called to receive a claim number. You know it's a bad sign when the company has a specific line dedicated to refunds. I get the claim number and am told that I would hear back from someone within a few days. BS. I called my credit card company and filed a merchant chargeback. read more

My friend had a fabulous internship in NYC, and was living fabulously in TriBeCa, so I had to visit her... That's what fabulous friends are for, no? She had a great experience getting to her apartment using Super Shuttle, so I set up my appointments with them, too. Finding them was pretty easy, setting up was simple, too and for front door service I was happy with the price.... Until, I realized that I was the last one to be dropped off and the driver told me that he had to go pick up more people and if I'd mind to get a cab. ... Yes, I do mind. It didn't help that I had no cash and that I had to use the bathroom. He shoved me into some cab, paying the cabby $5 to take me to my destination. I felt so awkward. The cabby was actually professional and nice. I was sad that I didn't have cash to tip him. Then when I was leaving, I was blessed with a 6am flight, thus a 2:30am pick up time by Super Shuttle. I confirmed my pickup, and then they never showed up. They told me to get a taxi and then they'd pay for it. ... I asked how I would go about being reimbursed and NEVER got a straight answer. I kept asking and asking and nothing. They didn't even offer another super shuttle to me, just kept telling me to get a taxi. (Like I had $65 on hand to just 'hope' to get back). I ended up taking public transportation and BARELY catching my flight thanks to them. Also, they never reimbursed me for anything. Very disorganized and a huge hassle. Try to share a taxi with people, much better. It's rather sad that taking a bus to a subway, changing tracks was easier and quicker than super shuttle. read more

This is a fantastic choice if you like any of the following: - promises of a departure in the next 15/20 minutes, then driving around all the other terminals looking for more people to take for an hour and a half. - arriving at your hotel at 3am when you've landed at 11pm (if you're really lucky, the shuttle will make about six or seven stops all over Manhattan before they drop you off). - paying roughly as much as half one Uber ride from JFK to Manhattan. - rude, unresponsive drivers (especially when mentioning the time bit, see above). I had tried supershuttle once before but due to a delay in the pickup time I remained a regular customer of their competitors Airlink. After two bad experiences with Airlink (extremely rude driver that went to the bathroom in a cup in front of me and another time when the driver just skipped my house and my friend had to take the subway and they didn't even guarantee his money back) I decided to give Super Shuttle another try. Best decision I could have made. They were on time, super professional, the van is much more modern, they text you a link so that you can keep track of where the van is and they text you 2 or 3 min before arriving so that you can exit the building. Another great thing they have with respect to their competitors is the possibility to schedule later pickup times. In the competition I would chose the latest possible and it would still be way too early. With Super Shuttle I scheduled something in the middle of their offers. It was one hour later and I still got there before the check in even opened! Just a note based on some reviews that I read: If you are traveling from the airport you need to go to the ground transportation desk, even if you already reserved and paid. I don't know this from an official source but it seems very reasonable to me because the time between landing and leaving the airport varies widely from person and trip ( immigration + customs + bags ), so much so that the only reliable way seems to be to assign you a van as you arrive at the desk. This means that you'll usually have to wait an additional 30 min which is not great. Therefore, this is definitely not the fastest way to get home or to the hotel, but after a long trip I don't mind spending an extra hour or two so that I can just put my bags in the trunk and doze off until I'm at my doorstep instead of carrying bags in and out of trains, up the stairs of subway stations and standing and waiting. read more

I had forgotten about my experience with: (ain't nuthin') Super (about this) Shuttle...perhaps it was my mental sanity's attempt at blocking a bad experience. Flight arrives @ JFK around 1am...I'm left to wait & see other SS drivers picking up their passengers (everytime I ask them if they're here for me, they continue to say I'm not on their list & to continue to wait 'til my driver arrives). I soon learned that the driver was trying to wait as long as possible to collect more passengers for his van. I finally left the airport TWO hours later (while I waited almost knocked out on the floor of the arrival flight's entrance- as all waiting areas are closed during non-business hours...makes no sense to me when you're dealing with an international airport...I digress). I only saved about $15 in comparison to a cab ride. Note to Self: my mental sanity & tired body-from-a-1am-flight is waaaay more worth that. Never again! read more

Where do I even begin? I will state that our experience with SuperShuttle in NYC is what almost ruined our first night in the Big Apple. And after our positive experience with them in Boston, I know the service we experienced here was isolated. It didn't start off terrible. After landing at LaGuardia on a Saturday afternoon, we received a text to head over to the Port Authority welcome center to check in. From there , the reps contacted Supershuttle on our behalf. We were told it would take about 30 minutes for the shuttle to arrive so we made ourselves comfortable in the waiting area. After 30 minutes had come and gone, we found out that there was some sort of glitch in the system. And that Supershuttle didn't receive the page from Port Authority Welcome Center when it was sent. We were told it would be ANOTHER 30 minutes for someone to come. A freaking HOUR waiting for a shuttle that is prepaid is ridiculous. If we had known what we know now we would've scheduled a private car service. When the shuttle arrived, there were several other passengers in the van already. The driver drove very aggressively and erratically cutting off drivers and braking hard and sudden. It got to a point where I thought I might puke from the motion sickness. It was really THAT bad. It was like being on a 3 hour roller coaster. I'm not even kidding. And to make matters worse we were the LAST passengers to be dropped off at our destination. So to give you an idea...our plane landed at 330pm and we didn't get to our hotel until 7pm. I was fuming because we wasted several hours waiting and traveling in the stupid shuttle on our first day in NYC. My husband called the company to voice his complaint and the most they could do was reimburse us half of our payment. If you ask me, it should've been 100% refunded. I would highly advise against anyone from booking through this shuttle service. Well unless you don't mind throwing away 4 hours of your life by waiting and being driven to every drop off point of every passenger in your shuttle. Do yourself a favor and either cab it or hire a private driver. TRUST me. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I REPEAT: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! We reserved and paid for in advance for a shuttle to bring us home from LGA to Long Island. Upon landing at 11:30pm, we were told by the company that there were no shuttles available, and it would be 90 minutes before one arrived, but that they could not guarantee that a shuttle would even show up. We'd been traveling for 12 hours and were NOT in the mood to wait around for a car that *might* show up. What a terrible system! Why bother making a reservation when the company does not deliver its promises? I immediately reamed them out over the phone and demanded a refund, which they quickly obliged. I work in the travel and tourism industry and I can tell you, any company that is THAT quick to refund you, not explanations, no apologies or even tries to remedy the situation, IS NO GOOD! We contacted an alternative cab service who showed up 5 minutes later and brought us home no problem. I called to file a formal complaint on the way home. I spoke with Laurie, who was so sweet and totally on my side. She took down my information, sympathized with me, and said that not only would we be refunded the cost of the original reservation, but we would also be reimbursed the alternative transportation fare. I got a receipt and felt more comfortable after that, knowing this situation would be taken care of. It was not. First, I was told someone would contact me. Of course they did not, and after a week, I called them myself. Then, I was told that I wouldn't be reimbursed the full fare of the alternative transportation, just the difference between their fare and the fare I paid. OH HELLS NO! It's bad enough your transportation service SUCKS, you caused me undue stress and additional money. I work in the travel industry. I have over 500 clients and one of my jobs is to reserve transportation to and from the airport for them. Needless to say, I will NEVER recommend any of them use this disgusting excuse for a transportation company. I hope whoever owns this company is not proud to run such a shady operation. Supershuttle is yet another sad example of a corporation that thinks customers exist solely to provide a revenue stream for the company, rather than understanding that companies that provide real value to customers deserve to profit. Had a bad experience in Houston. Waited 45 minutes for a shuttle, was offered a refund by phone, later denied the refund by email. Since I did not ask for a refund, but was offered one by Superhuttle's customer service rep, who made it clear I would receive the ride and the refund, I see their rescinding of my refund as yet another indicator of Supershuttle's disorganization and super-mini-compartmentalization. The right hand has no idea what the left is doing. Nor does it seem to care. The sense I get is that passengers, and the (super-nice and professional) franchisee drivers, as well as their very kind customer service reps, are all at the mercy of management - who clearly have their priorities backwards. If management allowed employees the freedom to do their jobs well and actually put customers first, the organization could thrive. It's a shame that Superhuttle Corporate's attitude is the way that it is. Take a look at their ratings here on YELP. I doubt Superhuttle has a shot at surviving over the long run, much less profiting. Too bad for the employees, franchisees, and customers. The pros: easy to book online; cheap; The cons: it's shit I've used Supershuttle a few times and there's always been an issue, whether it be travel sickness, puke-inducing driving, surly staff members/drivers or lateness. However, this last time was the straw that broke camel's back. Going to the airport, they were 45 mins PAST the later end of the pick-up window with not so much as a courtesy call to say they were running late or an apology when they finally got to me. Coming back, I waited an HOUR and had to chase the driver across the tarmac with 3 heavy bags just to keep up with him. No help with bags or anything. I've used the subway/airtrain, regular cab, town car and the bus that goes from near Grand Central and this is without doubt the worst service and most stress of all of them. Worst. Idea. Ever. If I could give 0 stars I would. This works exactly like Soviet Communism. I.e. Not At All. Much like communism in Soviet Russia, this is a good idea in theory. You share a ride with other passengers and you all get where you're going for cheap. Awesome, right? Wrong. I made a reservation to be picked up from the airport (Newark) and driven to Chelsea. Google Maps says it's a 30 minute drive. 9am. I arrive at the telephone and contact supershuttle (that's right, I took a red eye cross country with a 2 hr delay thrown in for shits and giggles) so let it be said I was in a grumpy mood. 9:30am. Supershuttle arrives looking for me. 7 other people hop on to make my day. Then we proceed to every other terminal checking for other passengers. Maybe we should've stopped along the highway to pick up some more people. 10am. We arrive in manhattan and enter in the black hole snake pit of despair. 11:30am. 12 hours after I got to SFO, 3 hours after I touched down at Newark, I finally arrive at my destination with a renewed hate for sharing. Super shuttle at JFK is awful. I have used the service a number of times and never have I been lucky enough to get a smooth ride. The worst straw was my most recent ride. My flight was supposed to land at 8.15pm. Even before my flight reached it's gate, I got a call from my driver to hurry to the welcome station. Mind you, I hadn't checked in and my flight had reached early, at 7.50 pm. Taking into consideration how huge JFK is, it took me some time to reach the welcome station. My driver left by then. When I checked in at the welcome centre, the representative was extremely rude. I was told there would be a 45 minute wait. And after waiting for 45 minute, I will have to spend another 2 hours to reach my destination. A journey that ideally should have taken me 1 hour is taking me more than 3 hours. What's the point of booking the shuttle prior if I have to waste so much time waiting? Extremely disappointed with the service. Big Thumbs down. read more

Reading through other reviews, I realize how lucky I've been using this service (and the fact that MOST of the time, I get a ride from my sister to and from the airport!!) My Easter Sunday afternoon trip from LI to LaGuardia was problem free thanks to a GREAT driver, Larry in van #882. As soon as I knew I wouldn't be hitching a ride with my sister, I made the reservation online (AWWWWWWESOME $2 discount from AAA, but I guess every bit helps...) and we were all set for a 3:30 pick up (for a 7pm flight, no last minute nail-biting here!!). He texted me that he'd be a bit late, which I halfway expected on this end of holiday weekend. I thought the van would be crammed with people, but I had my own personal ride w/Larry (aka Morgan Freeman's brother from another mother!!) and I channeled a "kinder/gentler" Miss Daisy!! He zipped in an out of potential traffic snares, paying close attention to the road AND his trusty GPS, skipping the "regular" route when he saw there would be traffic backups. In spite of pretty heavy traffic, we made record time to the airport, and I was so happy with my awesome ride, I gave Larry an additional tip (already had prepaid one online, not sure if that's the best idea, esp. if you wind up with a situation more common in most of these reviews...) Not bad at all, quite the pleasant "splurge," ($57.00 + tips!!). There are other options, including bus, train, etc., but LaGuardia can be such a MASSIVE hassle to get around, this one worked FINE!!! My pickup from Manhattan was over an hour after the schedule pick up time window closed, and so was my pickup from Laguardia airport. Both ways however once on the shuttle it was smooth and efficient. My other negative experience was the instructions on how to get your shuttle upon your plan arriving in the city. I checked in online and proceeded to the costumer service kiosk as the directions told. I clarified with the person there on where the bus picks me up, and they were rude and acted like I was stupid. I know the people at the service kiosks are NOT with super shuttle - however I do believe some clearer instructions on how we meet the shuttle once were at the desk would prevent things like this from happening. (Clarify if the person meets the bus outside at the sidewalk or if the driver comes in, etc). Now although the experience wasn't great, the people and costumer service otherwise was great with super shuttle. And as long as you're not short on time - and leave at least 1hour + of travel time it is a good way to save money. read more

Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. On my last trip to New York, I decided to use SuperShuttle to get from Newark to the city. When I arrived, I called the office like I was instructed and was told that someone would be on his way. An hour rolled by and after speaking with several different people, I got the same response: "someone is on the way". After asking 2 or 3 SuperShuttle employees if they were for me, one of them rolled his eyes and said he would take me then he just left for his van. He didn't take my bag or offer to take it. When I got to the van, there were already about 7 people in the van and apparently had been waiting for 20 minutes. After loading me into the van , he stood around and talked to someone for an additional 10 minutes. I thought he was waiting on someone, so I didn't think much of it. He came back to the van alone and we left. Wow. He finally dropped me off 3 hours later and reminded me that I did not include a tip when I prepaid. WTS? Don't do it. Just don't. Worst idea ever. To make a long story short, our scheduled pickup time was 1:45 pm. We end up getting picked up at 1:00 pm. Hmmm,...we drive all around Manhattan and don't leave for EWR until 4:00 pm. Pardon my French, but these people are b*tches. I booked online for a flight the next morning. Super Shuttle was supposed to pick me up between 7:15 and 7:30 a.m. Because I've heard so-so reviews about this company, I made a point to be right in front of my building at 7:10. It turns out, I should have heeded those so-so reviews as huge red flags. 7:40 rolls around, and still no sign of a blue van. After a series of phone calls; disconnections; reconnections; assurance that my van was en route; more phone calls; false reassurance... THEY NEVER SHOWED UP. The operator I spoke with claimed that indeed the van did go to my apartment, but the driver reported that I wasn't there. WHAT?! Lies. How does anyone miss a ginormous blue van parked on a narrow street with minimal traffic?? Then, Super Shuttle claimed they couldn't reimburse me because the van showed up, so I was at fault. Excuse me? After being passed through a series of "supervisors," I was told the "Advocacy" department would open a claim and I should receive an e-mail in the coming days. Two weeks later, and no e-mail. I'm dreading having to deal with this company on the phone again. Ugh, RUDE! Do yourself a major, major favor: heed the red flags that I stupidly neglected to. SuperShuttle is a SCAM. Waited at the airport for nearly an hour because it would not leave until all seats were full and booked. Then the drop offs are not remotely near each other and you end up going ALL over town. Spent 2 hours in van (longer than my actual flight). Unless you are looking to waste time and throw away money, take a Lyft. Never again. Big mistake. read more

I am SO glad to be sitting here at 2:15am reading reviews that share in my awful experience with this company. I have taken this super shuttle many times before and was never truly satisfied, however, getting somewhere safe and sound is the most important part of my journey, so no complaints there. Although tonight was a different story...I was not injured, but my sanity was at a point of no return, and I wasn't even the angriest one (that's a surprise). Getting to the point. I arrive early (thanks Jet blue!)-- 11:00pm, and wait for my checked item, then call the super shuttle: 11:25pm. They tell me 20-25 minutes. 12:10am - Super shuttle finally arrives with a scratch pad and a disheveled look. There are 3 of us at this point all heading to very close destinations. Whoopee, we think we're going to have smooth sailing...WRONG. 12:50am - Circling around the airport looking for more people, which i think may be calling in at that time, or have been waiting, lost , and forgotten. 12:55am - We pick up a woman from a different super shuttle who has been waiting for 30 minutes inside the van already, she was pissed! 1:05am - Pick up more people until every single space is filled. 1:20am - Finally leave the dreaded loop of the airport and head to Manhattan. 1:25am - The women next to me and i make complain phone calls, this was ridiculous 1:45am - Not only did it take us that long to drive out of the airport, but the guy didn't even know how to maneuver around an empty city, geezzz! 2:00am - Finally get to my sister's who has the keys to my apartment, walk 5 more blocks. 2:10am - Still pissed, so of course felt the need to rant instead of getting the rest I need after a Full day of traveling. Work in the morning, back to the basics. Good to know that mostly everyone else thinks this company is a complete and utter disaster that has zero organizational skills. I traveled from the JFK to a hotel with a driver named Jose, and had a terrible experience ever. When I got on board the shuttle, I found the seat belt for the seat on the 3rd row & door side was totally broken and looked unable to function. However, the driver assigned one of the passengers, which was not me, to that seat. Having no way to fasten, this passenger traveled all the way without the seat belt. Since the driver was a kind of rough driver, I was very horrified to see the passenger without the belt. I was totally surprised how they ignore the safety of the passengers. If they force the drivers to do pre-service safety check as a routine, I believe this will never happen. My observation is that this is a very serious incident and a violation of the law. I would like to know how they think of and are going to deal with this incident. Later I will attach the picture that you can find the broken seat belt. In addition, there was a sign in the cabin saying "THE DRIVER'S TIP IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE VOUCHER", which was quite confusing for me. Every time I make a reservation with them, I enter how many % of the fare I offer you as gratitude. In this sense, I believe the tip is included in the payment for the reservation. read more

RIP-OFF Artists. I landed at Newark and booked these guys to run me to Manhattan. BEWARE: if you pay in the airport, the driver will try to make you pay again. It was mass confusion in the waiting area, with many people stranded for hours. Well "lucky" for me, after an hour of waiting, a driver squeezes me into the front seat (the van was packed full). Silly me, I thought this was because he was a nice guy. HAHAHAHAHA. Boy was I stupid. The trip took an hour and a half. The entire time, the driver (some Hispanic dude) keeps giving me a sob story about how his wife is going to kill him for picking me up, because now they're in rush hour, blah blah blah blah. Two-thumbs-down for the guy's terrible acting. I wasn't buying it for a second. By the time we FINALLY get to my hotel, the driver jumps out to get my luggage and starts looking at his log sheet and playing confused. He runs a pen down the sheet and says "oh they [the airport desk] made a mistake and charged you 20 dollars less than they're supposed to." I look at the sheet and can't see my name on there anywhere! I tell him to show me where my name is on the sheet and he suddenly gets all irritated as if his panties are riding up his arse. He's saying "don't worry, I'll take care of it" and storms off. So long-story-short, the driver squeezed me in with hopes he could double-charge: get paid for his time PLUS make 20 bucks cash off me to put straight into his pocket. Avoid these crooks. If you're going to Manhattan, take the Skytrain for less and get their much faster (with a better view) without getting treated like a sucker. read more

I have taken the SuperShuttle about 10 times, and I have finally come to the conclusion that it is not worthwhile under any circumstances. Like, even if you have a negative balance in your bank account, don't take this van. You clearly have something going on since you're en route to an airport - just write off the taxi fare as a standard vacation cost. The last straw for me was taking the van from the east village to JFK for a 6 a.m. flight. At 2 a.m. they called to push my pick up time from 3 to 3:30. The guy arrived at 4 a.m., picked up two passengers and then went to LaGuardia before JFK. I BARELY made my flight. Nightmare!! Never again. read more

Avoid them like the plague! Over an hour late for pickup, had to finally take a taxi or miss my flight. I called for a refund and they flat out lied that they talked to the bellman and couldn't find me. I was standing in front of the bellman chatting with him the entire time I waited. Hour+ wait times and service at EWR. After 50 min and still no shuttle, I called customer service only to be put on hold for 15 min and passed on to multiple departments for my refund request before canceling my reservation and saying someone would address it in 1-5 days.. Okay, I knew this was going to be a bit of a while back to the UES from Newark. I knew that, but still, this only warrants 2 star review. We booked online and at Newark went to the ground transportation kiosk, and got check-in by a super helpful clerk who told us the directions: wait to be called, and you'll be introduced to your driver (within 30 mins). In about 20 mins, our driver arrived and took us to the car. We then went to one other terminal, and we departed with a full car (10 passengers plus the driver). Okay, the driver was nice, but he drove through NJ and Manhattan like a Formula One driver. Fast, sharp turns, etc. We were in the last row for 90 mins enduring it all, and safe to say, it wasn't a pleasant ride. Unfortunately, we were the last stop on the trip, so we had to endure that for a long time. All in all, considering the wait times, and being the last stop, I think I'll hit the Airtrain/NJ transit next time, and take a cab from there. The price will be about the same, without all the waiting and rushed driving. read more

I read through these reviews because I always want to know if I'm "on or off base" when I have an opinion. Not necessarily to sway my opinion, but to see if I'm in the ball park. I'm NOT in the ballpark because SuperShuttle gets awful reviews and my experiences have been nothing but pleasant. Let's start with what we have to deal with. Getting to the 3 airports in New York City is a pain in the butt. There is no reasonable public transit that gets you there. So we're left with cabbies and shuttles to take us through an aging hundred year-old-plus road/bridge/highway infrastructure that is falling apart, PLUS you share that infrastructure with some of the craziest, most aggressive drivers known to man. So if you don't want to pay a $140 r/t car service, or spend 3 hours on the A-train and the M-60 bus, or drive your own car and pay to park it, or get an expensive zip-car, or Uber, or buy Aunt Betty lunch to get to the airport....SHUT UP and realize that like most things in New York, you get what you pay for. SuperShuttle picks up the phone. They take your flight information and calculate when they need to get you, and add time for cushion. They are friendly, they help you with your luggage. For me, they even accommodated at the last minute a change from LGA to Kennedy. So, people, put on your big boy pants and realize part of the responsibility of getting to the airport is YOURS and that if you don't want to take the risks on a cheaper method, pay a solo cab the guaranteed rate and fasten your seat belts.... 2 stars instead of 1 because they have a couple redeeming qualities. I'll start with the good: 1. Cheaper than taking a taxi into Manhattan. From EWR, it'll cost about $35. From LGA it's about $25. It used to be significantly less, until one recent weekend they inflated the price by $12. 2. Ok I miscalculated-- I can only think of one good thing about SuperShuttle. Here's the bad: 1. You will wait forever for the SuperShuttle to pick you up from the airport. I waited 2 hours at EWR for the shuttle. I was told my wait would be 30 minutes. After 30 minutes I called and asked how much longer, they said another 30 minutes. Then after another 30 minutes, they said 10 minutes. Then I just gave up and waited until they showed up 2 hours after I checked in. Opt for the NJ Transit instead. It's $12.50 to get to NY Penn Station, and it'll get you there in the same amount of time you waited for the SuperShuttle (plus Manhattan traffic). The wait for a shuttle at LGA is a little better. Shortest time I've waited there was 20 minutes. 2. The customer service table at EWR is non-existent. As in, there is none. If you get into the airport late, there is no one at the desk and you have to figure out how to use the disgusting phones in the waiting area, call their service line, and then press your ear firmly on the germ-infested receiver to try and decipher what they're saying on the other line. If you get into EWR at an earlier time when there is an actual human being at the help desk, they'll mess up your itinerary and give you a receipt that does not have the correct address you'd like to be dropped off at. Customer service at LGA is prompt and a lot more competent. The waiting area at LGA is less creepy than at EWR, too. 3. They will jam pack as many people in a van so that you're sitting uncomfortably on top of the person next to you. The driver also likes to pick up passengers without a reservation so that they can make as much money as they can. I mean, I don't blame them. SuperShuttle probably doesn't pay them enough, and an extra passenger means more tip for them. But waiting idly for 20 minutes in a packed van while the engine is running just so the driver can maybe add one more person is a little ridiculous. 4. If you make your reservation online, you can enter in your airline frequent flyer account number to rack up some extra miles/points. There's really no point in entering your info because the points won't show up. If you email SuperShuttle about it, they'll tell you to wait 6-8 weeks after your travel date for the points to post. After 8 weeks of waiting and you contact them again, they'll tell you the same thing. After 20 weeks of waiting and contacting them, they'll still tell you the same thing which basically means: no points for you! 5. The drivers drive CRAZY. They are always in a hurry, so they drive really fast and erratically. And they do this with their eyes glued to their navigation screen. I had a driver almost run off the highway because his eyes were focused on the navigation screen. So say a prayer before you get into the van, and buckle up after you are seated. Then close your eyes and hope you make it home alive. read more

Ok people, you get what you pay for. At under $20 from JFK to Manhattan, it's practically a steal. Here's my take on Super Shuttle. Try it if you're the following: -not pressed for time b/c it will stop at EVERY JFK terminal to pick up passengers -don't want to pay for a cab -don't want to lug your 50lb suitcase on the subway -patient -budget-conscious DON'T use Super Shuttle if you're the following: -got off a 20+ hour flight from Asia -beyond ANNOYED after realizing that you landed at JFK at 2p and only arrived at your Midtown hotel at 7p! -all about efficiency -have a few bucks to spare and don't mind using it on a taxi I do have to say, the driver did his darndest to get through NYC traffic during peak hours (e.g. 5p). The lady at JFK Super Shuttle desk was very nice and helpful. read more

First off, my plane arrived at JFK at 4:30pm, it was probably 6pm by the time we got picked up, then no joke, we arrived at our hotel at 9pm. 4:30 to 9pm, from the time we got off our plane to our hotel. I waited for an hr at home. The driver left without picking me up. AND they wouldn't give me a refund. The money aside, I almost missed the flight for my business meeting. Do not use supershuttle unless u have money, time and good mood to spare. If I could give no stars I def would. read more
