The service was simply non existent. Gave out table top someone who arrived after us and then told us it would be another 30 minutes to wait. And no they do not take reservations. The place was extremely loud, couldn't head the person next to you at all. Ordered a pizza to eat at the window. The pizza was good thin crust pizza. We stopped in on a Saturday night, after trying to go to Michigan and Trumbull Pizza, but they were sold out of dough before 6pm. Anyway, we've been wanting to try Supino Pizzeria and we were able to walk in and get seated right away. We started out with drinks, a Calabrian margarita and a Peroni. I was expecting the margarita to have some heat to it and I really didn't get that from it, it was a decent drink. We decided on the San Gennaro pizza and added kalamata olives, plus a Caesar salad. Such an ordinary, bland Caesar salad, the flavor was so flat. We regretted ordering it. The pizza was very good though. We will be back for the pizza again. We liked our server, Cheyenne, she was sweet. I thought the setting was cool and charming. I was enjoying the mural on the wall. PRICEY! But delicious. Quality is totally there, but does not leave you feeling full or satisfied. Filled with hipsters working there and kind of a weird vibe, but not in a bad way, just a kind of liberal democrat vibe. They have daily special slices of the day. They have big pizzas but they are expensive. They have a bar which looks cool, but I don't drink so wasn't interested. Right next to the Detroit Comedy Bar, I was there and popped in after a show. Super convenient but would not go out of my way to go there. But if I'm back in the area (which I will be) I'll go back and try a deep dish pizza (not sure if they have that) but they should because it's Detroit and if they don't, shame on them. Delicious pizza!!! Ordered 2 large pies, Margherita (white-no sauce) and Cheese (w/red sauce). The pizza crust was super light, crispy, and slightly charred--- exactly how we love it. I thought they would be sorta similar in flavor but I was definitely wrong. Two completely different flavor profiles. They were soooooo good... we scarfed both down as soon as they hit the table (result--no pics). We also had a house salad, the lemon "citronette" dressing hit the spot. It was large enough to divide 4 ways. The service was very friendly and the food came out super quick. The dining area felt comfortable with large windows and really high ceilings... some of the original tin ceiling tiles and painted brick walls of the historic building gave it a cool vibe. There wasn't a ton of seating so I could see a long line forming during lunch or dinner rush. Today we only waited about 15 min for a 4-top to open up. I've heard so many good things about Supino's, I wanted to try them so badly. I noticed the Eastern Market location has way more reviews than this location, not sure why? I came here with my friends after a very long visit to the DIA down the street. We were starving and wanted something we could all enjoy, so pizza it was. Walking in, the place is long and narrow with a decent amount of seating. They have a decent menu to choose from, but nothing wild and crazy. We ended up getting one big pizza with the breadsticks as an appetizer. The breadsticks were good and came with a marinara sauce for dipping. It was actually a nice compliment, as sometimes dipping sauces are not flattering to the food. When the pizza came out, it was way bigger than we'd expected, in a good way. Plenty of food for the three of us, and we even had a leftover piece at the end. This style pizza's on the thinner side, which isn't a bad thing. We ate like wild animals since we'd done a ton of walking at the museum. Staff here's good, nothing to report either way. Friendly, did what they needed to do, and we were in and out in no time. Despite having a smaller menu than I anticipated, I will say, a solid 4 stars anyway you cut it! read more

Grabbed dinner here with a friend this past week before heading up the street for a show at the Fisher Theatre. It was a Tuesday night but they were still pretty hoppin' thanks to the theatre crowd (I assume, since we all stood up to leave at the same time). However we were still able to grab a table without issue. Kicked things off with a pomegranate orange San Pellegrino and the Rucola salad to split between my friend and I. The salad was a very generous portion and even splitting between the two of us we still didn't polish the whole thing off. It's a simple salad (arugula, labne dressing, parmigiano-reggiano, and almonds) but really delicious and fresh. For my entree I ordered The Smokey pizza, topped with Jake's Country Meats smoked ham, roasted garlic, ricotta, and smoked gouda . It was really good but I'm not going to lie, I kind of missed some good old fashioned mozzarella so in the future I'd probably add that to the pie as well. And IDK. Maybe an egg if I'm feeling particularly indulgent. My friend is gluten free so she ordered a short rib with what I think was polenta (a dish not on the menu so our server kindly confirmed with the kitchen that it was GF). Her's looked so dang good I have to say I was jealous. I had a hard time not ordering a pizza here cos...it's Supino! But her dish definitely had me second guessing my choice. It took a minute to get our server over but once we flagged her down she checked us out swiftly. I'm loving this new location at New Center, it's in a great area surrounded by other delicious restaurants, so it's in very good company! The staff here is so incredibly friendly and helpful and the vibes are just truly immaculate! You can't go wrong with any pizza you order here, but might I recommend one of my personal favorites -- city wing thing! It's such a unique pizza and the layers of flavors on this one are unlike any I've ever had elsewhere. I'm also a huge fan of the funghi pizza because I LOVE MUSHROOMS! You ever watched front of house handle your food with their bare hands?- Me either until today. Kindly addressed the problem @supinopizzeria and was offered a remake. Reluctantly I accepted. I should've known something was up when the offender kept stepping in the kitchen to talk to the person making our pizza. After waiting an additional 20 minutes for our remake we head out. Get home, look at our pizza & whaddya know- our vegan cheeseless remake is covered in pepperonis. Roll back up there (at this point we're an hour+ in ) & whaddya know one of the chef's in question is staring at us like a deer in headlights. I'm looking back at him like the ghost of Christmas past. Right after that ol' girl makes a b line for the kitchen when she sees us. At this point it's evident that a LOT of pepperoni mysteriously landing on the only vegan pizza item on the menu is very likely not a coincidence. Of course I asked to speak to a manager and yes they were helpful. Yes I declined another remake. Obviously won't be going back to let people's children play in our food/faces. read more

I've been here twice and have never written a review so here it goes! If you are looking for a good pizza spot in Detroit, look no further than Supinos! The pizza always tastes perfectly, nothing is overpowering anything else and the ingredients together go work like a masterpiece. The crust is crispy on the edges and crunches with every bight. The undercarriage is about 7.5/10. Holds very well near the edge but does drop down in the center where the toppings (sauce, cheese, etc.) weigh the most. The service is top notch, staff is very attentive and works quickly to get you what you need. The small space really makes it feel like you have your own server who takes many different forms. Any of the employees are quick to assist you with anything you need. The ambiance is fitting for the location. Old school pizza parlor meets new school aesthetics. I don't know how else to describe it besides warm and inviting. It makes me want to stay there longer. Pizzas are clearly labeled on the menu as what can be made vegan // vegetarian. I hadn't been to this new location yet, so before hitting another Red Wings game, we decided to stop by. The location felt a touch more modern than the Eastern Market location, and there's plenty of seating at the tables and at the bar. To the pizza! We ordered a large pepperoni, a large San Gennaro, and a slice of cheese for my little niece. Glad to report they tasted as good as any pizza we've had from the original location! They came out hot, thin, foldable with a hint of grease, and were covered in good amounts of tasty toppings. Service was great and the drink, wine, and beer selection was ample and rotating. The person at the counter said "I'll be right with you," and proceeded to talk to her manager for several minutes about the schedule instead. Tonight was pretty disappointing (and it usually is when we dine in). This is not based on food, this is based on service. We were seated with our 2 & 4 year old and the restaurant wasn't even half full. The host was kind and brought us water and told us that someone would be right with us. After 7 minutes without being acknowledged, watching servers chat to folks for long periods of time, and trying to flag someone down, we gave up and walked out. I could understand if it was a full house, but the lack of acknowledgement (like not even and intro and I'll be with you shortly) with no urgency seeing a family with 2 young kids was pretty frustrating. This typically happens when we eat in person. Sometimes it's dropping off a check and we wait 10 minutes clearly appearing like we are ready to leave, sometimes it's on the greet to the table. Sometimes it's straight up forgetting a part of our meal. If this was the first time I wouldn't be writing but tonight tipped us over the edge. read more
