My mom was given medication after I told the owner about her sensitivity to certain medications numerous times . I discussed it with her daughter, and told her again that evening before I left. The next morning I had to call doctor to get some Naloxone for overdose. My mom ended up with a broken foot. I've told the owner many times she needed to hire a QUALIFIED person for the residence. The owner was told by OMBUDSMAN to hire another employee. At the time she only had ONE employee, but she QUIT because of the owner's attitude and care toward residents. Her employee told me IT WAS TO MUCH, when she called me to say by to my mom for her. The owner told me , I'M NOT GOING TO PAY SOMEONE FROM THIS COUNTRY, IT COST TO MUCH MONEY. She has said this, at lease twice to me. I discussed medication with the owner several times. Also discussed it with her daughter (3/5/22 ) and again before I left, she disregarded my demands. Causing my moms broken foot 3/6/22. The owner is MORE CONCERNED ABOUT MAKING MONEY THAN ANY LOVED ONES CARE NEEDS. She manipulates, lies and doesn't listen. The only person that seen and spoke to when I moved my mom belongings, didn't understand any English. ALL ABOUT MONEY My mom has been to the hospital four times. She's fallen four times. She's has a BROKEN FOOT, THREE UTI, and her face and eyes are all swollen. The owner blamed me because I didn't tell her helper, I told her that's your job! I told the owner DAY 1 AND 2 OR 3 times since then, NOT to give her certain snakes which tiger her Eczema. I provided most of her snacks. The owner has falsified documents, doesn't fill out Med records sheets, doesn't listen to my input regarding my mother's needs and her restrictions regarding medication and snacks. Ignores my POWER OF ATTORNEY which are my moms wishes. The owner raised the rent $1,800 a month because I filed the complaint. I called Ombudsman and Licensing department regarding her actions CAUSINGS INJURIES. I also found medications on the floor, on dresser, counter and end table, which belong to who ? The only person looking out for my mom quit, I moved my mom to new place because of BREACH OF CONTRACT & NEGLECT ! ! The above comments are only my experience & what I have been told by the owner. You have to use your own judgement! IT'S YOUR JOB TO DO YOUR DUE DILEGENCE , PROTECT YOUR LOVE ONES, which are more important than money. Clean house DOSEN'T mean GOOD CARE. P.S. We used this agency for much of 2022 to care for our ailing parents in the Sacramento area, and I have very mixed feelings about them. On the one hand, we had a number of different caregivers from Golden Years and one of them stood far above the rest, so we requested her exclusively and were never disappointed by her excellent care. However, dealing with their business office left a very bitter taste in my mouth.. I could have overlooked the multiple billing errors (including duplicate invoices) if their office had been responsive in correcting them, but emails to their office simply went unanswered, and I had to resort to sending letters via registered mail. (Thus, "unpaid" but erroneous bills piled up and GY started charging us usuriously high interest rates on the "unpaid" amounts.. I'm talking 122%) I also was not pleased when a key contractual obligation was not only ignored (as were multiple requests that they honor their contract) but once they finally replied, they blamed *us* for the problem that they caused. Caregiver scheduling was also a big issue. We were supposed to do all scheduling through the GY office, but they were not at all reliable and we wound up having to schedule directly with our caregiver. (This was against their rules, but the caregiver acknowledged the challenges dealing with the GY office, and told us that she had the same problems with them.) If our excellent caregiver had not left GY's employ, we probably would have continued to suffer their billing errors and obnoxious unresponsiveness, but while we were sad to see the caregiver go, we were not at all unhappy to be done with Golden Years. (They did eventually condescend to reply to us and offered a small token reduction in our charges as an apology for their failures). If we were in a position where we needed in-home care services again, I would absolutely not choose Golden Years.

It started off okay, about 2.5 to 3.0 stars and from there it went down hill FAST! I'm a type 1 diabetic and I would have to go without eating anything sometimes because all they would serve me was foods drowning in carbs and sugars. I begged and pleaded for a while then after that I had to start yelling and screaming and be the squeaky wheel to get anything done. Their social workers suck. If you don't keep on them they'll blow you off. As a matter of fact, Social Security told me that they did my forms wrong and I have to start all over again. So now I have to wait 200+days for my SSDI. What I was admitted for which was an infection in my leg was never taken care of and I was discharged in the same condition that I started. Most of the CNAs and Nurses are terrible. They barely speak English and they don't understand you most of the time. One time they pricked my pinky to test my blood sugar and it bled so bad it ran all the way down to my elbow. When I asked the nurse for a band aid she told me that she didn't have one! When I asked how in the HELL does a nurse in a Skilled Nursing Facility doesn't have a band aid she told me that they were locked up and only the MOD had the key and she was not going to be in until 8am. This happened at 6am. When I asked how come there isn't a first aid kit available she shrugged her shoulders and gave me a look of cluelessness. Totally deer in the headlights. They have an Asian resident that goes up and down the hall screaming and does nothing about it so don't plan on any peace and quiet. My roommate fell out of his bed once and was screaming bloody murder begging for help and I had to crawl out of my bed into my wheelchair and go scream at the nursing station to get him help. Their physicians suck. Lazy and dumb. I had to go to the emergency room twice in three months because they are that bad. It's pretty bad when you ride in the ambulance and the EMTs apologize for the shitty help your getting. The Emergency room says they're known as Shitty Creek Post Acute not City Creek Post Acute. I haven't even begun to scratch the surface of the nightmares I have had to endure. Now that I have been discharged 8 days early, they won't take my calls and I need them to transfer my prescriptions to my pharmacy and they said that they would pay the pro rated amount which I'm positive that is why they are dodging my calls. I'm out of certain medicine now and have no way of taking my insulin. I'm going to call my regular physician and see if he can get my prescriptions refilled for me and sent to my pharmacy. So much for getting the appropriate and professional help. The place needs a full audit and CHHSA needs to be notified and also the Ombudsman. This is no laughing matter. Zero out of 5 stars.

The Staff there has been excellent in caring for the tenants. It is extremely clean and a pristine environment. There are daily activities for the tenants and a Veterans Club and recognition of our Vets. The dining room is large and lots of menu choices. The staff is professional and caring. I see my 100 year old and the tenants daily! I would grade this facility with A+. I recommend it without reservation.

Taking care of him became a difficult challenge as home care services were not reliable or dependable. An availability finally opened up at NeuroRestorative. It was such a relief to find this very nice home like atmosphere with caring and knowledgeable staff willing to take him in. At first, he was a difficult patient that didn't adjust well. But eventually, these skilled nurses were able to gently and patiently turn his frightened thought processes to a more trusting and accepting state. Now, he seems to enjoy his new life in a comforting environment, including a specialized and healthy diet plan. He may not always remember who we are, but the family has peace of mind knowing that he is in good hands by this amazing medical team!
