Absolutely lovely experience at Supreme Auto. I called first because I have a 1995 truck and the testing equipment is different. And frankly, I had contacted my normal smog place and their machine was broken...tried another place and their machine was broken...and they all have to wait for the technician to come fix it. Gotta say I'm not sad at all that their broken machines led me here. Arrived around 11:15am on a Friday and pulled right in to a spot in front of the office to get all set up. They let me know it would take ~30 minutes. So I wandered around the neighborhood (don't miss Lucky seafood across the street and down a block!!) and came back after 30 min. It was good timing because they needed to show me a cracked, old hose as part of the visual inspection that is required. I had 3 choices - leave it, have him cut the hose at the break and attach from there, or new hose. New hose, please. How much? About $10. Okay. I was waiting in the office when another man came in to thank me for waiting and let me know the machine software and just glitched out and they had to restart it. Everything had passed and it was fine - but the software reboot would take a few minutes. No problem. When the mechanic actually came into the office with all my papers etc to check me out, he also apologized. I guess people expect to be in and out in 30 minutes. I was just happy to be getting my baby smogged - so if it took ~45 min, then so be it. But I appreciated all the updates and apologies. He only charged me $5 for the hose...I think because of the wait time. I absolutely won't hesitate to come back. I'm posting photos of their signs with rates so everyone understands that the age of your vehicle dictates the price - the machinery is different. Don't forget to check-in to Yelp to get your $5 discount!

#31 I needed to get a #starsmog for my Z4. I went to the place that did it two years ago and they are no longer #star so they told me about Supreme Auto. I called yesterday and they told me they open at 9:30 and it's all first come first serve. I woke up early, got ready and headed down because my tags are due tomorrow--oy veh! I was early but Adrian took me right away. He was super professional and knowledgeable. He was also quick and courteous. If you have to smog I hope you do it here. I'll NEVER get rid of Ursula (that's my Z4) so I know I'll be here every other year to keep her healthy and relevant ;) #classiccaroneday

This place is right by my house, always took my 2012 Honda accord and 2000 Acura here for a quick smog check.

Staff was professional and efficient on my smog test. My car was not ready to be certified due to a recent body shop visit that reset some data. They were willing to offer a free test in a few weeks. The reason for the one star: I bumped my fender driving in, not knowing how steep the sidewalk slope was. It was totally my fault for not doing a better maneuver. When I told this incident to the staff, he seemed totally dismissive, saying "I've never heard anyone who had this problem." I went back to the sidewalk for a picture and realized that was complete bullshit. The concrete was scratched to a white color, which made me cringe over all those poor cars. When I suggested that a notice by their roadside ad would help future customers, they didn't seem to care much. If you have a pick up truck or an SUV, you are probably fine. But needless to say, I would not risk hundreds of dollars to come back for a free test.

Took me as a walk-in, finished faster than expected, and was cheaper than Pep Boys even with a $20 coupon.

I ended up going back to the exact same guy I used 11 years ago , Carlos at 15 Minutes Smog Test & Repair. Same guy, same professionalism, same incredible service. I was literally in and out in 15 minutes and paid only $40. Eleven years ago, I paid $35. In California, where prices have doubled and tripled on everything, this is honestly unbelievable. I called around before going, and everywhere else was quoting me anywhere from $60 to $80+. Carlos knows exactly what he's doing, which is why this place constantly has 5-star reviews. Super proactive, super professional, and they even cleaned my windshield while I was there. Seriously, don't waste your time chasing coupons or dealing with nonsense shops. If you need a smog check, go here. Carlos was phenomenal. A++ service. I honestly don't even understand how anyone else is still in business at this point.

Another business told me rather bluntly that I needed to complete a 50-mile "drive cycle" before the car could pass. With my DMV registration deadline approaching over a holiday weekend, I was overwhelmed and short on time. After a restless night, I called this smog and repair shop and explained my situation. From the very first conversation, Brian and Katrina treated me with patience, compassion, and professionalism. Even though they were clearly very busy for the holiday weekend, they made me feel heard, understood, and genuinely cared for. That kind of customer service is rare these days. When I arrived, they were ready for me right on time. The process was smooth, organized, and efficient. The shop may look busy to the average customer, but it's obvious they run things with experience and precision. My car was finished promptly, and the quality of service was excellent. An added bonus: the location is great if you need to wait nearby. I was able to relax outside in the sun near Sprouts while everything was handled. What stayed with me most was how human the experience felt. Brian and Katrina made me feel at home away from home during a very stressful situation. I'm deeply grateful for their expertise, kindness, and integrity, and I'll absolutely be adding them to my future rolodex for automotive services. Highly recommended.

BE CAREFUL! $620…read morefor the LABOR to install one ignition coil and spark plugs... here's how it happened: My partner brought our BMW 328i in for a smog inspection and to clear a check engine light. The car had already been diagnosed with a failed ignition coil and spark plugs by a mechanic who was backed up 2 weeks. Despite that, we were told they'd need to run another diagnostic themselves... AWESOME When I heard that they needed to do another diagnosis, I was worried, but luckily I was able to speak with the shop and my girlfriend before any work was done which was a relief. I was told on the phone that the repair would be $500 (a tad high- and also the maximum my normal mechanic told me I should pay for these repairs ....but it's the Bay Area, what are you going to do). By the time I got home from work it was almost 9PM. We were in bed and assumed that the car was gonna be there overnight but the shop called at 840 to let us know that we needed to pick up the vehicle. When we got there, I was informed that the bill had climbed to nearly $800 after additional labor charges and inspection fee had been added on top which were not initially included (all of which happened conveniently after I got off the call and my girlfriend left the car to get worked on). That kind of increase should have been explained much more clearly upfront. But OK, I approved, she signed, it's a miscommunication. Except it wasn't the bill she signed was $800 for labor no parts mention , and when I got there they raise the rate in additional $32 from the sheet she signed. Looking at this final invoice now: they charged OVE $620 in labor to replace 1 ignition coil and 1 spark plug-- i'm no mechanic but after speaking with a few, i've been informed that that's actually a fair amount of time to spend..... once you take into consideration their 2 hour lunch break in the middle of the job. The parts were only $150, yet the labor charge was FOUR TIME that amount. Let that sink in. These guys are crooks and I hope the BBB audits their business to make sure that the number of mechanic hours line up to the number of hours of possible working hours (they won't). I have a strong feeling they are working on multiple cars at the same time and charging you for the pleasure. If you're considering this shop, immediately STOP, go elsewhere. If your hands are absolutely tied, I'd still try to go elsewhere but if you absolutely have to, I recommend asking for a detailed, itemized estimate before authorizing any repairs-- then sitting there and watching how long they actually work on your car. Also take that initial estimate and use it as toilet paper.... that's exactly what they'll do. We absolutely will never be returning. Times are tough in the economy and I really hate that I supported this business. I strongly suggest you don't
