All of the barbers are highly skilled with various textures & curl pattern. This barbershop represents Howard county and it's amazing diversity. I've never seen anything like it. My barber Dani knew exactly what I wanted. My little guy felt extremely comfortable and loves his haircut. I highly recommend this barbershop for Everyone!! My first impression was negative and I should have walked out right then: the barber's cape. This thing was CRUUUUSTY. Tored up a bit at the neck and with residues of many other people's DNA around the neck Then there was the issue of the roughness. It felt like I was in a boxing match, with my head being knocked around every other way with his hands and the machines he was using. About the cut itself, Mr. Ray basically did whatever he wanted. He Give me a "conservative gent's" cut, as he called it: not nearly as much as I requested him to cut. And the cherry on top: when shaving the back of my neck (with trimmer) it felt as if he was doing it with needles and knives, with the end result being huge, raised, furious RED WELTS on my neck that I still have three days later. So bad that I have been applying antibiotics to them. In conclusion, if what you enjoy is a dirty, incredibly overpriced, Rough, underwhelming, and potentially infectious haircut, then Sugar Ray (and this place) is your man.

But let me tell you, the first guy took 45 min, second guy was 75 min in and still going by the time I left. The first barber (light-skinned latino) took 45 min, worked hard and did an excellent job on an older man. Honestly, while I waited and saw him work, I wanted my cut with him. Unfortunately he left to go inside their building and was replaced by this young black haired latino. He was working on this guy who walked in with a Phil Foden cut and 75 min in, largely unchanged but with a clean trim on the sides. (There was hardly any hair on the ground ) One reason his cut was taking so long was this barber was too busy live-streaming on his phone, occasionally looking at peoples' comments. It also didn't help he was cutting at a snail's pace. It's one thing to be attentive to detail (something the first barber was good at). It's another to just go hair by hair. Bad for business, wasting peoples' time, so much that I don't feel like stopping by the actual shop. Hope the business sees this and if they do, please let me know the name of that guy. If I ever do stop by, I'd like to avoid him at all cost.

But the place is kind of a mess, and needed a good wipe down and sweep, and the atmosphere was kind of hectic. At least it was late in the day a week before school starts and kids getting ready with last minute cuts. The prices have gone up -- $22 for a men's cut, which is on the low side of typical for the area. I'll probably be back, but I'm likely to make an appointment next time.
