But no worries, I had an appointment so I was safe ... right ?.... Walked up to window to check in , asked for I.d and insurance card since I was a new patient. Then gave me a clipboard to fill out and come back up to window to pay my co payment. Since I had a hunch something was not right about this place , especially it being in Antioch ... rightttt before I was about to pay , I said -- "I notice there's a lot of people here, but I have an appointment, so you know how long the wait is?" The lady responds "we are quite busy , maybe around an hour or more " Ok.. so there's no point and doesn't matter that I have an appointment? I just walked out. Of course I didn't think to check reviews beforehand , as it's a medical clinic , and I was referred here by sutter health, so I just rolled with it. This review won't matter , because it looks like many complaints about the same thing , so clearly they don't care. I guess what can I expect for an Antioch dump spot. Don't be fooled by the fact that it looks decently nice inside. - What a waste of time , gas & miles. What if I had come here on my lunch break or something ?

As one of the limited providers accepting Contra Costa Health Plan/Medi-Cal, this clinic should treat every patient with dignity, fairness, and equal concern. Based on our experience and what we were told, I believe Medi-Cal patients-- including children--are treated differently. This needs immediate attention and improvement.

I met Dr, Cherry in October of last year just after my Ophthalmologist retired. I was nervous about meeting a new Dr. as I had glaucoma and felt secure with the treatment and follow-up with my Dr, since moving to California in 2019. I called the office, and a wonderful person answered the phone and answered all my questions and scheduled my first appointment. I checked Dr. Cherry's reviews which were 4/5 Star. I also read he was experienced and treated everyone professionally. I went to my first appointment and was highly impressed by the office and clinical staff and Dr. Cherry. I did not have to wait long and received professional care as well as a comfortable, well organized and modern equipped facility. I just recently had cataract surgery which happened over a period of 2 months. I took 9 months to make up my mind to have the surgery and Dr. Cherry was patient with me and reassuring that all would be ok. His team at his office and surgery center are representative of his professionalism. His office staff as well as the Surgery Center Team made me feel comfortable and at ease. Outstanding Ophthalmologist - Highly Recommend Dr. Suraj Cherry I initially visited a different ophthalmologist for my severe cataracts, particularly in one eye where my vision was significantly impaired. Unfortunately, I was told it would be a four-month wait for surgery, which was incredibly discouraging. Thankfully, I contacted Dr. Suraj Cherry's office the following week, explained my situation, and they saw me right away. Dr. Cherry immediately recognized the severity of my condition and scheduled surgery in just three weeks. The surgery was a huge success -- and shortly after, I had the second eye done as well. This entire experience was life-changing. My vision is now excellent, and I am deeply grateful for the expert care and professionalism Dr. Cherry provided. I was sent here after going to Sutter Delta emergency. I had been having pain and light sensitivity in my eye for 3 days. Dr Cherry was very detailed in his explanation. He gave me the right treatment (anti inflammation drops) and things started getting better in a few days. I was able to get an appointment pretty fast which was nice. They were helpful in squeezing me in. The office had a full schedule but the doc was thorough and put me at ease. My inflammation improved very quickly. Kudos to this doctor and his very competent staff! Went back and saw the doctor when I was having another issue and he also diagnosed it right On the spot and helped me so much with the right therapy. Keep doing great work doc! I'm new to Yelp but I figured I might as well start helping people find quality providers in our local area. First off, Dr. Cherry is a very warm and inviting Doctor. My previous ophthalmology practice was simply too busy and impersonal. Dr Cherry is always involved and the wait time to see him is very reasonable. Several of my friends in the area have seen him for cataract surgery and they all had good things to say about him. I've been seeing this office now for the last year and I can really say that I am thoroughly impressed with the Doctor and the staff. What a wonderful result we had with Dr. Cherry! My mother was referred to Dr. Cherry's office because of glaucoma and cataracts by our optometrist. From the initial visit, we felt the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Dr. Cherry himself was very approachable and he has an excellent manner with patients. The office was very busy but the staff was very efficient with all of the testing which needed to be performed. Measurements were made for my mom's cataract and Dr. Cherry perfomed the procedure on both of her eyes. I am really happy to say that my mom sees better now than she has in years! I scheduled an 8:30 AM appointment for my 7-year-old son through Brentwood Eyecare's own online…read morescheduling system on Saturday. The system offered 8:30 or 9:00. I specifically chose 8:30 because he is in school, which starts at 8:20, and I wanted him to miss as little class as possible. At 8:20 AM -- only 10 minutes before our appointment -- I received a text from an unidentified number saying, "good morning we received your appointment please come @ 9am." They didn't even identify themselves, so I had to ask who was texting me before they told me it was Brentwood Eyecare. At 8:21 I explicitly responded, "Our appt is at 8:30. It's for a child in school. We are already on our way. We will be there at 8:30." They replied that they had no doctor until 9:00. When I questioned why their system offered an 8:30 appointment, they responded, "not sure why our system let you make an appointment im so sorry." I told them that since their system scheduled an 8:30 patient, I felt contacting the doctor rather than changing a patient's appointment 10 minutes beforehand would be the appropriate solution. We arrived around 8:25. I was already uncomfortable with how this was being handled, so I sat in the parking lot calling other optometry offices hoping someone could see my son that morning. No one could. Around 8:35, we went inside to wait and look at frames. At 8:36 -- 15 minutes AFTER I explicitly told them we were coming -- they texted, "Would you like us to change this appointment to 9:00 or reschedule. We need to give the doctor notice." I called because I genuinely did not understand what additional "notice" they needed when I had already said in writing that we were coming. The employee was immediately argumentative and insisted I had not told them whether we were coming, despite the text stating exactly that. As I entered the office, I ended the call and addressed the situation in person. My son and I then went to look at frames while we waited. The employee I had spoken with began making comments about the situation to her coworker from across the office, saying she would now text the doctor since I was there while continuing to complain that I had not given notice. I told her that if she had something to say while I was standing right there, she could speak directly to me, and again pointed out that I had given notice in writing. Both employees then began talking over me. I raised my voice trying to get a word in and was told I was being "hostile" and that "it's Monday morning." Being Monday morning does not excuse poor customer service. Their own system offered and confirmed an appointment when apparently no doctor was available. Their employee had already acknowledged IN WRITING that she didn't know why their system allowed it. Eventually, I was told they would not see my son and could reschedule him. I made it clear I would not be returning after the way the situation had been handled. What happened as we left is what I find completely unacceptable. The employee stood up and sarcastically said DIRECTLY TO MY 7-YEAR-OLD, "I'm soooo sorry, child's name, we can't help you today because of your mom's behavior." Whatever disagreement you have with a parent stays between the adults. You do not involve a 7-year-old or blame his mother TO HIM for why he isn't receiving care. He was there because he was having difficulty seeing and his glasses were broken. He had done absolutely nothing wrong. For transparency, after she directed that comment at my child, I became extremely angry, used profanity, and slammed the door when I left. I could have handled my exit better and I take responsibility for that. However, that occurred at the END of the interaction, after their scheduling error, arguing, discussing me across the office, repeatedly claiming I hadn't given notice despite written proof, and finally involving my child. Afterward, I read other reviews and unfortunately my experience with the front desk does not appear isolated. Multiple reviews describe similar issues with receptionist attitude, rude/dismissive interactions, and poor customer service. This appears to be a recurring issue rather than simply someone having a bad Monday morning. Thankfully, Oakley Optometry on Laurel was able to get my son in that morning. The difference was night and day. Everyone there was professional, accommodating, kind, and incredibly sweet to him. It's farther from us, but 100% worth the drive. I absolutely would not recommend Brentwood Eyecare. A scheduling mistake can happen. How you treat people while resolving it -- and especially how you treat a 7-year-old child -- is a choice.

On my first call, the receptionist put me on hold to "check" whether they had them in stock. After about three minutes of waiting, she hung up on me. No callback. So I called a second time. This time I was told the frames are $899, that insurance would only cover the lenses and not the frames, and that she couldn't tell me what my out-of-pocket cost would be unless I came in person. She was happy to take my insurance info over the phone, but apparently couldn't use it to give me an estimate. That makes no sense to me. Between getting hung up on and being brushed off on the second call, the front desk left a bad impression. I can't comment on the doctor since I never got that far, but based on how the staff treats people on the phone, I'm not sure why anyone would choose this location. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. -- Thanks for responding. A couple of things for anyone reading this: After those calls, I went to a local optical shop and bought the Meta Ray-Ban Gen 2 there. The frames were $499, not the $899 I was quoted, and my insurance applied a discount to the frames as well as the lenses. That's the opposite of what I was told on the phone. As for the staff, I'm not the only one who's felt this way. Reading through your Yelp reviews, I found about 10 others describing the front desk as rude. That points to a pattern, not a single miscommunication. I appreciate the explanation, but it doesn't change how I was treated on those calls.

She has seen me through every stage and change in my vision and every eye issue I've had along the way. When I first started seeing her, I was nearsighted. Over time I also became farsighted and eventually needed bifocals, and she managed that whole transition with care and attention. Later, I developed a detached vitreous, and she guided me through that with calm, thorough care and reassurance. I also have idiopathic intracranial hypertension (increased intracranial pressure), which means that sometimes I need to be seen urgently. Every single time that has happened, she has made time for me. That alone says a lot about the kind of doctor she is. Her office itself is great -- it's always very clean and well kept, there is plenty of parking, and the staff is consistently friendly, helpful, and professional. You never feel stressed walking in there, and you never feel like you're just another number. I'm a nursing instructor, and at a recent visit, I told Dr. Linder that I was feeling intimidated about teaching the anatomy of the eye because, honestly, it's a complex topic if you're not in that specialty. Without hesitation, she offered to meet with me, look over my PowerPoint, and help me fact-check it. What really amazed me is that she did this on her own time, on one of her days off, and with incredible patience. She would make an excellent teacher. The way she explains things and the analogies she uses make complicated concepts actually make sense. I walked away from that meeting not only feeling more confident about my lecture, but genuinely more interested in the eye itself, which is not something I ever thought I'd say. As a nurse, I pay attention to certain things in healthcare providers. Dr. Linder clearly loves her specialty and isn't just going through the motions or counting down to retirement. She's fully present and engaged in her work. She takes the time to explain what's going on, discuss prevention, and make sure you understand what's happening with your own body. She also genuinely cares about her patients as people, not just diagnoses. She's also very down to earth. She's not stiff or overly "buttoned up." She's easy to talk to, warm, and approachable, and she makes it easy to ask questions without feeling rushed or dismissed. I can honestly say Dr. Linder is the kind of physician you hope to find and keep for life. I'm incredibly grateful for her care and truly blown away by her dedication to both her patients and her field. I recommend her without hesitation.

Everyone I encountered throughout the steps of my exam at this great facility were so nice and memorable. The front desk staff welcomed me with smiles. The awesome Dr. Wong taught me so much about my eyes. She didn't judge me for my long over due eye care, instead praised me for coming. Her energy, expertise & complete testing resulted in my vision being restored to the clarity I had when younger. I was escorted to the eye glass frames department where I met the sweetest specialist who finalized my choices for my new pair of glasses.
