Terrible . Dr Cherry gave my dad multiple shots in his eye claiming his macular degeneration had turned to wet. After having several shots that caused blindness and severe pain, because the needles had changed to a square needle . This caused my dad severe pain , seeing spots that made it unable for him to drive, they still used the said needle, as they didn't want to waste them! Many of the girls act as if they had no idea what we were talking about , as we tried to make sure the needles were back to the original... and to find out after they did not change the needles and we sought a 2nd option by a more qualified and trusted dr,,, my dad NEVER NEEDED THE SHOTS TO BEGIN WITH. Dr Cherry ruined my poor fathers eyes further and caused unwarranted pain and suffering. I remember looking into his wait room each time I took my dad , to a room full of seniors and now I feel I must tell . How Many people did this man needlessly torture with his Cheap needles and unneeded procedures! And ... just to make money and bill insurance! My father saw another ophthalmologist and was told he needed cataract surgery even though he had no complaints about his vision. He went to see Dr. Cherry as a second opinion, who actually told him that he had very mild cataracts, and probably wouldn't need surgery for the next 5 to 10 years! Dr. Cherry is great at what he does. I took my mother for cataract evaluation and the cataract was diagnosed and the procedure was set up. Preoperative testing was performed in Dr. Cherry's office and the staff was professional and polite. The surgery was performed at another location and we were in an out in less than two hours. The actual cataract surgery took less than 20 minutes. My mom can now see 20/20 and says she has never seen so well in her entire life. Dr. Cherry did cataract surgery on both my eyes and both my wife's eyes in the last 4 months. He was very professional and a very nice person to work with. All four surgeries went very well and now we both have much better vision, 20/20 in our right eyes and very close to that in our left eyes. He also did an in office procedure on both of my eyes to reduce the pressure in them. That went very well and now the pressure is in the normal range. His office runs on time, no long waits once you check in at his receptionist's counter. The surgery center he used in Concord is very efficient, well staffed with professionals and uses good Covid safety procedures. It too runs pretty much on time. We both recommend Dr. Cherry. Dr. Cherry is THE best Opthamologist. I went through 3 doctors before finally seeing Dr. Cherry. He was recommended to me from a doctor in my family. I was suffering from Dry Eyes. Not slightly dry eyes, but severe dry eye. After seeing the previous doctors they did nothing, they just said they were sorry and good luck. They offered no relief, no eye drops, no plugs, nothing. Dr. Cherry is the Michael Jordan of eye care; the other doctors felt like they graduated from Junior College. Dr. Cherry knew what he was talking about and quickly worked with me to solve my problems. I eventually had 4 punctal plugs put in and they have changed my life. He also helped cure my eye infection. He may have saved my career as I was suffering from looking at a computer screen I debated on changing my career. His office staff are very professional and incredibly nice. The office is very clean and the equipment is modern and not from the 70s like other Opthamalogists. There are so many bad eye doctors out there, and they are so few good ones. Dr. Cherry is the man! Be careful in going to this MD, he almost left me blind from my left eye after cataract surgery in June 2019. I had to see other physicians to fix me up. He also prescribed me glasses but the prescription was completely out of wack. The other physician corrected it also. He tried to operate my wife's eyes (reconstructive surgery) but since she needed a preapproval, the insurance denied the treatment saying that the procedure was not needed. Wacht it if you go to their office, the equipment is obsolete and the personnel is not even friendly or courteous at all. read more

I went there for the first time recently for a basic exam/eyeglasses. After waiting 25 minutes in the waiting room I was rushed through the rest of the process. Dr. Cherry seemed great- I didn't have any major eye issues so didn't spend a lot of time with him. But one of the staff members really really rushed me when I was picking out my frames. This is a task that shouldn't be rushed- I have to wear these for the next year or more so I want to make sure I like my frames. But she kept putting frames in my hand to try and was being a little pushy with me, telling me she thought they looked or didn't look good, then barely giving me a chance to decide for myself before taking them away. In the end, I hope when I get them in a week (a week for glasses, really?) they are what I remember (felt rushed to pick them out while my eyes were dilating) and that I like them. In fact, I was so rushed that they hurried me out the door without going over the lens options or getting my payment! I had to call back on my way home to request UV protection, anti-glare, etc. and give my credit card info. Maybe it was an off day but I didn't feel confident leaving the office. read more

One day I woke up with really bad eye pain pain and sensitivity to light. I called several other offices until finally I called here. They scheduled me a same day appointment. I got there 20 mins early to fill out the paperwork needed since I was a new patient. All the staff was really nice and very friendly. I would like to share that my experience with the Office Manager at Dr. Cherry's office was horrible. When I made the appointment I explained very clear that I need a swab taken from my eye and sent it to the lab for analysis. I was told that that is possible. When I got to Dr. Cherry I found out that this is not a procedure they are doing, and I have to go see another doctor. When I called to ask for a refund, the Office Manager lied in my face and started to scream, and told me that I did not explain what I needed when I made the appointment. I ended up paying for the visit, got nothing out of it, and I have to make another appointment with another doctor and pay the consultation fee again. What a waste of money. I always thought that is about the doctor you go to see, but obviously sometimes is just about the clerks. What a horrible customer service experience. read more

Just came from the Antioch office ~ most horrible experience EVER. The receptionist was so rude we had to leave ~ never saw the Dr. and I am hoping the woman was just having a bad day but when you go to the Dr. with someone who has very poor vision and hearing issues there is really no need to be mean about it! We were at the office on a referral, we arrived early, waited nicely, filled out all the forms. We needed an evaluation and assessment on retinitis pigmentosa and the receptionist wanted to do something with the insurance so Oleg (the patient) would be getting a Rx for a new pair of glasses ~ not what we were there for! ~ and was rude when Oleg didn't have the info she wanted. Still not sure why she had to be so rude and flat out mean. read more

Dr. Suraj Cherry preformed blepharoplasty on my upper eyelids in April of 2012. I am very disappointed and upset to say the least with the results. One eye opens wider and is very noticeable. You can see the scar on both eyelids. He stated to me that the scars would be in the creases of both eyelids and would not be visible, but this is not the case. The evening after the surgery some of the stitches came loose on my right eyelid. I went back to him the next day. He checked it and said don't worry it will be fine. The stitches on the left eyelid appear to have not been done correctly and now there is a noticeable scar, which Dr. Cherry said that I should purchase and use scar gel to lessen the appearance. It also appears that he did not remove enough tissue from my eyelids. I have seen others who had their eyelids done by other surgeons that were well done. Theirs look nothing like my eyelids. I was laid off my job and do not have the money to have my eyelids redone by another doctor. read more

I'm always hesitant to try new doctors but, in this case, I'm happy I did. My entire experience today at Dr. Cherry's office was positive. My wait time, after filling out the new patient paperwork, was maybe 5 minutes. All of the staff I interacted with were friendly & professional. The exam rooms were clean & the gal that did a portion of my testing did a thorough job of explaining what each test was for. Dr. Cherry was very professional, yet friendly & engaging. He discussed all my options for treating the eye conditions causing me so much grief. I didn't feel pressured in any way to make any quick decisions. We've all had some negative experiences with medical professionals, right? I know I've had more bad than good...but NOT TODAY! The stuff are rude and not helpful . They will not help you with any questions if they are busy. My father and my mom are seniors. Explaining to the secretary if she can help or guide them if they don't understand some of the questions on the papers they have to sign, immediately the lady who took the appointment advice me that they are so busy to help my dad or mom . that is really so awful to hear from a Eye clinic. they should more helpful and understanding to patient care. I came here with my mom to get her eyes checked out and were greeted by a very small, but friendly staff. While waiting on my mom's tests to be done, I was shocked to see how Dr Cherry treats his staff. The girls were very nice and made us feel very welcome even though my mom does not speak English too well. However, something was going on with the Dr and I overheard Dr Cherry yelling at a staff member for something that seemed really petty with such disrespect that it made my mother and I feel very nervous. It was really discomforting for my mom and it actually made me very angry that he would talk to his staff when our first impression was that they were very nice girls that looked like they were very busy keeping his practice afloat. He may be a great doctor as many have poimted out on their reviews, but the way he treats his staff is not ok with me or my mother. My mother felt so uncomfortable, that she asked me to find her another eye doctor. As for me I wish I could rate him a negative -5 stars. read more
