My wife and I got the taco bowls and they were delicious! We both got what we wanted, and it was all affordable. I've never left a bad review, however I could not let this go. Please do not bring your family here. I've worked in a lot of restaurants and I've never seen any kitchen this dirty where the customer can see everything going on. Lots of cross contamination, receipts literally in people's food. The workers weren't using utensils to serve food. They were reaching into each container with a gloves hand, but they touched a lot of other things and never changed gloves. As troubling as this was to post I am EXTREMELY disappointed in my experience today. I came in with deep excitement for my usual (an order of nachos) while at the register the queso did not appear to be in its normal consistency, yet the cashier continued to dump loads of it and it's watery consistency on top of my nachos even after seeing the clumps of cheese in the mix of the watery substance. I instantly loss my appetite. What disturbed me even more was the response when I asked if the queso needed to be stirred or changed. When it CLEARLY was not the normal consistency. On top of them asking if I wanted my order remade, I was asked to stand back in line (during lunch that was half way to the door) to re tell the employee my order. While I understand we have bad days, BUT my goodness this was a horrible experience. I wish I could have taken pictures. Extremely disappointed. read more

Walked in at 2:30 pm on a Wednesday. Two employees working from what we saw. Waited 10 minutes only to hear "be right with you" as he scraped the bottom of the rice container to put what could not have been a full serving on a couple already made tacos which he unwrapped. Food line was DIRTY! Like disgusting dirty. Left over food covered both sides. Floor had massive remnants of food scattered about. Almost all food containers were empty near empty. Cooking area just as bad. Dirty pans and such strewn about. Very sad. My daughter and I were looking forward to trying it out. Guess it explains why they are getting 82/100 on inspections. First off I want to compliment the staff. They service was exceptional. They people were all very friendly and nice. Now the reason you're all here, the food! The food here is soooooo fresh. It's amazing. I ordered chicken nachos and they were exceptional. A cool thing that they do here that i haven't seen at other Tex-mex restaurants is that they will grill the burritos after they make them which I thought was pretty cool. They also have great queso. I'm so glad my cousin suggested this place! I'm not sure when they opened but they were still in the "training stages" but everything went very smooth. They have different options like burritos, burrito bowls, salads and nachos. I chose a salad with chicken as my meat, and added corn, red onions and mushrooms that they grilled for me! Yummm! They give you your choices of greens for your salad as well which I thought was really nice! (Shredded iceberg, romaine or spinach) I also added some southwestern rice to my salad too. I drizzled my salad with their southwestern vinaigrette dressing and it instantly became my favorite salad. So delicious and fresh! Nysheema was so friendly and sweet. She came by our table a few times to check on us. This place has great service and great food! I highly recommend Surcheros! Great addition to the south side area of Sava BONUS!! This is my new favorite spot for lunch or dinner. The work station is always clean and fresh. There isn't any dry old food left on or mixed in with the other food. They use gloves and wear mask while working and the proportion sizes are hearty. You will get your money worth. Lol. As for the location it's in the old Fire House Subs location. They have opened it up and kept the design clean. There is outside seating on the side or booths & tables inside. The layout works well with COVID because it's easy to pick a spot to seat and not feel crowded. The problem is when you have employees that make customers feel like they are an inconvenience and have zero sense of time management or urgency to complete orders. People go to an establishment like this to get quick food that tastes good. I just spent over 20 mins to get my food in a line of 3 people. On top of that you have an employee who is parked in the pickup parking spot. It's not like anything needed to be cooked, it was literally them just moving slow and arguing on who is going to take the next break. Overall just rude and inconsiderate of customers time. Worst management I've ever seen I will never go back. I ordered a carry out. It was picked up by my husband got home. It was totally screwed up. They left out things that I paid extra for they didn't put my taco salad in the shell I asked for. they left off three toppings. I had to drive back up there to get a new one and they offered me no compensation at all not even to refund the salad. They took the old one from me. They didn't even offer to let me keep that one when I asked the manager why they were not offering any compensation when he could see they screwed up the order he just said well that's our policy, that is not customer service! I've been coming here for the past couple weeks. This place has been my #1 pregnancy craving so far. I think it tastes so much better than chipotle or moe's. ...Which is a shame because the service here sucks. I'm saying this as someone who has never cared enough to write a review lol. I understand the manager and owner are hiring on teens and young adults like any other fast food joint, and that making burritos likely isn't the first thing they wanna be doing. But also, every time I've come to eat here I have to wait at the very least a good 5 minutes after my food is done for someone to come along and ring me up. I've waited silently and perfectly in sight to be rung up while watching staff laugh and joke behind the line once there is clearly nothing else to do. I've waiting in a line of people with their cards out ready to pay with no one at the register as the and 3 people making food. I'm generally a very patient and pretty agreeable person. Especially with food service. If I was the owner I'd honestly be embarrassed and re-examine who you're hiring on and paying to give customers a bad experience. But overall the food is great. YUM! We stopped here after a day of shopping and we got our food to go. When you first walk in there are tables socially spaced with signs on them, which was nice. I ordered the veggie burrito bowl and my husband ordered the steak burrito on a jalapeño cheddar tortilla. My bowl was very delicious and my husband said his steak burrito was too. Went for lunch this afternoon while out school shopping with my kids. I've had it before but my boys haven't. My usual go to is the bowl, but today my husband and I decided to go with the surcheros nachos. The boys ordered quesadillas.
