    Strawberry Mint Tea
    John B.

This place is premised on being able to serve just about any diet. The "cafe" moniker implies something casual, but the service was a bit too casual for my liking. Neither I nor anyone else who entered seemed quite clear about whether to order at the register or wait to be seated (ultimately it was the latter), and tables sat uncleared for a while. It was hard to communicate due to the music volume, which did not help. Upon searching for a restroom, I found one which you had to walk through another business to get to and which had a code lock on it. Overall, not a great experience. The food, however, delivered on its promise. I considered several options, but had no qualms about the vegan taco bowl I ordered. While it came with dressing, I barely used any because the quinoa, the tortilla strips, and the walnut "meat" it came with delivered such balanced flavors. Conversely, the strawberry mint tea I ordered was quite mediocre; it was hastily prepared and I'd hoped the flavor might improve as I mixed it, but it really didn't deliver much. It was pricey as well. So I can affirm that vegan, gluten-free, and otherwise conscientious eaters should be checking this place out, but don't expect a world class experience.

Our party of four requested indoor seating. The service was quick, the food was great with various vegan dishes, and a special mention goes to the tomato basil soup :) The bathroom was clean and is shared with other vendors in the back. It needs a key or a code (one of my relatives took care of this part and we each held the door for each other).

After a few days traveling I needed something a little more fresh and "healthy". Kayak Kafe was just that. The salads were very large and delicious and the rest of the menu looked great too! This place could definitely use an upgrade with fresh paint and maybe some new chairs, but overall very tasty!

    Vegan shawarma meal.

Make sure you ask for Hunter. That guy rocks! Fun menu with a nice variety of healthy options. Shawarma was awesome. Get flour tortillas with the tacos. Chicken and goat cheese quesadilla could use a bit more basil and/or pesto. All food was great. Ask about wine and liquor availability - the printed menu is fluid. Loved sitting out on the sidewalk for lunch. Happy to recommend. Out-of-town we that likes finding new places to eat.

    Vegan Chorizo Burrito (V, V)

Service is a bit slow but friendly. The quality of the food is great. I've been here twice now and it's the best healthier option in Savannah. And it's not packed like the surrounding places (to my surprise) I highly recommend any of the burritos and tacos! The vegan burrito has to be one of the best things I've had in Savannah. The walnut acts as chorizo and it may even be better than actual chorizo. Perfect flavorings!

Stopped for a quick lunch. We wanted a lighter fare and this place delivered a great experience. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Many locals eating lunch here, so that always a good sign! Ordered an avacado and shrimp quesadilla and a small southwestern Caesar. Both items were made fresh and were delicious. Would definitely recommend this place for a meal with great ingredients and many healthy options!

This place is a Hipster's dream. -vegan & vegetarian options -all options are delicious -the staff is excellent -outdoor seating -dog friendly atmosphere on the patio (they will bring treats and water for your furry companions) Cons: -only one bathroom and it's in the back of the building near a spa of some sort -during a rush they could use an additional server

Tacos, perfect for a light meal. I asked for a table on the semi-enclosed patio. It looked cozy, with its low painted walls, table umbrellas and overhead canopies, birds chirping and Mexican music softly playing. I had two street tacos, a la carte, and a house margarita. That would be enough with the complimentary chips and salsa for the small lunch that I wanted, but I'd recommend three for a normal size lunch. The Lamb Barbacoa was tender pieces, moist from the rich simmer sauce, with raw and fried onions and lots of cilantro. A bit salty. The Pork Belly was large pieces, relatively lean, nicely rendered and curiously sweet/sour. With radishes, tomatoes, picked onions. Both were very good. As were the two hot sauces brought when I asked, one very hot and the other smoky and sweet. The chips and salsa were nothing special but both decent. The margarita was just ordinary in flavor and strength and served in a disposable plastic cup. It was refreshing nonetheless. As for other menu items, there are all the Tex-Mex standards and some Mexican entrees but I think I'd get some street tacos again; there are a large variety, many which I've not seen before. All the staff: greeter, bartenders, waiters, were fully bilingual, today serving a roughly equal mix of English and Spanish-speaking customers. My waiter checked on me frequently and his advice to try the pork belly taco (his favorite) was spot on. Another person was engaged in cleaning the entire time I was there, and I watched in fascination as she tackled every conceivable surface, using a variety of tools and stepladders where needed. Dinner and a show. I am easily entertained.

Yes, and definitely yes! Tequila and tacos--how can you possibly go wrong?…read more We grabbed seats at the bar, looked over the menu, and I immediately ordered a tequila soda with jalapeños. If you enjoy a little spice in your cocktail, I highly recommend it. Since we were only in town for one night, we planned on hopping around downtown and trying several different places, so we kept it simple and ordered three tacos to share. There were quite a few tempting options on the menu, and every taco we tried was delicious. Looking back, we honestly should have just stayed here all night eating tacos and drinking tequila because none of the other places we visited afterward lived up to this experience. The atmosphere was bright, lively, and fun, with a great location right on the boardwalk. Between the food, drinks, and overall vibe, this ended up being one of our favorite stops of the trip. We'll absolutely be returning the next time we're in town. After experiencing some of the other disappointing spots downtown, this place made us realize we probably didn't need to go anywhere else.

Margaritas were tasty with lots of flavors to choose from. We tried the chips and dip trio. Guacamole was amazing and so was the queso. The salsa we had was okay but would probably choose something different next time we visit. Everyone loved their tacos with everyone having a taste of something different. We finished it off with churros which were just as great as the ones in Disney! Our waiter was very friendly and had good recommendations for tacos to try! It wasn't too busy when we first got there but picked up as the night went on! I recommend for a solid girls night or anyone wanting some great margaritas and tacos!

Foxy Loxy delivers a phenomenal coffee shop experience. Not only is the coffee top-notch (and for 9 out of 10 people, it will be some of the best coffee they have all year), but in the interest of full transparency for my fellow coffee nerds, if you're the type of person who judges extraction ratios, roast profiles, and espresso technique above all else, you may also want to check out Franklin's or Origin Coffee while you're in Savannah. I say that not as criticism of Foxy Loxy, because I absolutely love this place and visit regularly, but as someone who considers himself a true coffee-shop enthusiast, I think it's only fair to give fellow coffee lovers the complete picture. For me, Foxy Loxy wins because it combines very good coffee with an outstanding atmosphere, making it one of the most enjoyable coffee shop experiences in the city. The atmosphere is exactly what you hope to find in a cool downtown coffee shop. Whether you're working inside, grabbing a seat upstairs on the second level, or hanging out in the back courtyard (my personal favorite spot), Foxy Loxy has you covered. There's plenty of seating, great food and drink options (their tacos and chips and queso are amazing), and an outdoor patio that offers tons of shade from both umbrellas and mature trees. They even have a really cool water feature and regularly host wine nights and campfire events that make the place feel more like a community gathering spot than just a coffee shop. This is truly one of Savannah's gems and absolutely worth a visit. On the coffee side, one of my personal favorites is a cortado with horchata. That said, I've yet to find a bad choice on the menu. No matter what you order, you're probably going to leave happy. Pro tip: If you're spending some time there and want to explore afterward, head out the front door, take a left, and keep walking until you reach Forsyth Park, one of Savannah's most iconic destinations. If you found this review helpful, give it a like. I hope you enjoy Foxy Loxy as much as I do.

Beware- the tacos and burritos are packed with lots of yummy ingredients so you will not leave Foxy Loxy hungry. The cute environment offers so many seating options in its multi-level spaces indoors and outside in their amazing courtyard. Service was excellent as the staff was friendly and food came out quickly. Parking isn't a challenge if you opt to park across the street where you can park for FREE for 1 1/2 hours.
