Karen taught our PALS renewal course this past Saturday. She was approachable, helpful, engaging, informative, and funny. I usually attend courses in Orange, it's closer to home, and although I feel that most of the SureFire instructors have been awesome, I felt like I retained and learned more during this particular class! I had been searching for a BLS certification class that fit my schedule, but it was surprisingly difficult to find one in my area. I finally expanded my search to a different location, near where my sister lives and that's when I found SureFire! Signing up online was quick and stress free, and they even sent a helpful text reminder the day before class. Before the session, they provided some online materials to review, which made the in class portion easier to follow. The class itself was taught by a firefighter (I wish I remembered his name!) who was thorough, clear, and made the material easy to understand. The second half was led by a paramedic who was just as knowledgeable and engaging. I really appreciated the hands on approach throughout the course, it helped build my confidence and reinforce what we learned. I walked away feeling well prepared and informed. I came to this location because my usual location in Orange did not have the time slot I wanted available. The whole process of signing up for a class was very easy and hassle-free. The instructor, I believe Josh was his name, was very clear and concise with his teaching. He was able to teach effectively without using too much fluff and was straight to the point with the information. This was a BLS renewal and usually I pay that much attention, but he created an atmosphere where I wanted to learn! The facility was very easy to find and walking in it is very clean. The classrooms were setup great with comfortable chairs and a lot of space. All of this makes it a comfortable learning environment. I came here for my CPR and BLS certifications. I was a little nervous as I had only done the online programs to keep my CPR and BLS active. But the hospital I was working at required that I renew it in-person. So I signed up for SureFire CPR since it was close to home. I attended the training that was a couple hours. The beginning is introducing you to basic CPR concepts and you can take notes throughout. The instructor then moves on to explaining different devices and demonstrates how to use them. The last part consisted of hands on/ practice and testing. You are broken up into partners and practice doing CPR on a dummy. You also practice doing rescue breaths. You have to show the instructor that you can follow the steps. And at the end is a test. Once you do the test you are done and certified! This was very interactive and you are engaged the entire time. Much more thorough than any online training. I definitely suggest SureFire CPR. They did a great job! I came here for a BLS certification taught by Dominic! He was amazing and a very thorough teacher. He taught each concept really well and went through each part of the training very comprehensively and effectively, and allowed you to take notes that you could use to reference during the test. We were tested individually and given constructive feedback throughout. I'm a new grad from nursing school who never worked a day in my life in the acute setting, nor was I ever in a code situation, so I was really anxious and wasn't sure how challenge this is going to be for me. To make things worse, I must have forgotten my brain somewhere and signed up for the online ACLS (with skills check) just because of the date/time best fit my schedule. After I realize I made a mistake, I called to ask if I should change it to in-class session. Since they already issued me an activation code for the online portion, it is now nonrefundable and I would have to pay the difference if I truly wanted to go for the in-class session. The staff, I believed her name was Chelsea, told me it is doable so I felt better and just kept doing what I had to do. Honesty, it was just tedious and long long long.... This morning I went in for the skills check. Like I said, never any experience with a code situation so I'm just thinking maybe worse scenario I will just pay and start all over again. My instructor was John Martinez, and I was glad to find out that the skills check is one-on-one (or 1:2) which was a huge relief because this way I can ask questions and without feeling scared or being judged by other people. I was in and out in 30 minutes. The environment was low stress. Instructor John is very knowledgeable and approachable. The whole experience was like a breeze!!!!!! I wish that I sign up for the in-class session which I think would be so much more helpful. Anyway, I will definitely come back for the in class one when I had to renew it after 2 years. read more

Good customer service and prices are reasonable for services they offer . Only thing I would suggest to improve is since the classes are for long hours and we pay a big fee they should provide some meal or something to keep students focused and happy. read more

Today I completed the CPR/AED course with Instructor Christine Hunter. This course was perfect. The Instructor was friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable. Highly recommended. I was an Instructor and Instructor Trainer for the ARC from 2008-2015. I have trained over 4,000 students in Basic CPR/AED and first aid, BLS, California Child Care, Babysitting courses, Pet CPR/First Aid and Instructor Courses. I took great pride in teaching the course exactly as written and had the privilege to co-teach with many First Responders. I came to SureFire because over the years the ARC standards had declined to the point where I did not feel that I would be taught properly. SureFire CPR is exactly where you want to learn life saving skills. Thank you SureFire CPR for doing exactly what you are doing. I will be back in two years. read more

I learned a ton instructor was Justin. He was great easy to learn the material from him. Justin is a great teacher. I was a little nervous to do the mega code at the end but Justin mad me use my knowledge and it wasn't so bad. They have a very nice clean facility nice restroom. Also have a mini fridge for you to put your food in. They have free snack, coffee, tea and water makes it nice when u get sleepy. If you have ever had a terrible experience or instructor for CPR & First Aid training or for recertification, SureFire CPR in Corona is the place to go. On my current visit, I had 2 excellent instructors who were both helpful & constantly making sure that I & other students were using the correct techniques for Adult/Kid/Infant CPR. Unlike past experiences, both Trenton & Zack, the instructors, were always available for questions and for making positive comments about the correct techniques to use for cpr. They were constantly giving all students positive feedback and helping those who needed it during cpr training. At the end of this section, you do take a short test, but no worries, it is easy. For First Aid, the training was excellent & touch on all the major areas. Like most of the other reviews, the class is fun & thanks to this, it helps to relieve the stress of being in a class for up to 4 hours plus. The class does have breaks and they are given at the right moments throughout the 4 plus hours. Finally, I have to say that I was truly impressed by SureFire CPR and especially with their Corona location. They truly live up to their promise of professional instructors and a clean learning environment. They also provide snacks & coffee for those who are wondering. Overall, I strongly recommend the Corona location for those who are anxious about cpr training or who have had rude and/or horrible past instructors, like I have in the past. read more

Last night I took the BLS class in the Corona location and had Justin as an instructor. This will be my sixth time that I have taken the class. I've been in the medical field for a long time and have dealt with several companies either paid by the hospital I worked for or I paid out-of-pocket. I have to say this was the best experience I've had. I really appreciated him sharing his personal stories he encountered out in the field and incorporated different scenarios for our skills check off. Aside from Justin being a Packers fan, I was able to look past that and learn a lot from him (I'm a Redskins fan) It was a 6PM class, and not once did I want to nod off. Past BLS classes just press play on the DVD player to watch AHA videos and not engage with the class. I believe it really helps that instructors can give real life stories, because depending on what area of healthcare you work in you may not come across needing to have to do CPR in real life (consider yourself lucky because it's definitely difficult on a real person). I had a GREAT experience with Surefire CPR! I honestly was dreading having to take a day out of my weekend to take this course, but I ended up really enjoying it! I learned a lot and I feel 100% confident that I can perform CPR and AED sufficiently if I ever was to encounter a situation that needed it. I had Tony for my instructor and he was awesome! He made class fun and answered all questions with much knowledge and depth. The class included hands on engagement with "dummies" of adult which was also used for children and then baby dolls for the infants. These were created which allowed an inflatable bag to be put into them to see the chest rise and fall when breathing into the bag. Overall a Great experience! Class was affordable, parking was abundant, and the class was very enjoyable! read more

Wonderful, informative experience. It had been a few years since taking CPR, and I was a little nervous about taking the course again. Our instructor, Kaylee, at the Corona location was wonderful. She, like all surefire instructors, is active in the medical field so she has real world experience. She was professional but not intimidating which made the class very enjoyable. I highly recommend this company if you're looking for your BLS American Heart Association CPR certification. A customer service rep told me I didn't need the book but I bought it anyways because I always try to over prepare. She was right. We didn't go over the book, but i did benefit from reviewing the book prior to class. Everything we went over in class was exactly what was in the book. read more

Each student gets their own mannequin to work with, the instructor keeps it simple, straightforward, and tries to make it as entertaining as a CPR/AED class can be. You guys, I am so happy with SureFire that I just have to post about my experience! I went to SureFire as a nursing student to get my BLS, ACLS, and ECG Pharmacology certificate. I just interviewed for a new job and they need a copy of my ECG pharmacology certificate. They said it is mandatory for me to have it but that it didn't matter how far back I took the class. If I couldn't find my certificate, I would need to retake the class before they even begin putting me through backgrounds. So there I go searching through my emails trying to figure out what year I took the class and realize that it was back in 2014!! (The instructor had emailed me over the slideshow for me to continue studying with after class...but my certificate wasn't in my emails.) I search my house up and down and have no luck. I figured what the heck, I should make this phone call to SureFire and give it a shot because if they can send me a copy of my certificate (if they even had it still), it will save me from having to spend a couple more hours in an ECG class. So I call yesterday before heading to work and guess what, they had it!! The girl who answered the phone was able to send it over to me right then and there. She was so sweet (especially considering I called right before they closed) and really she was such a lifesaver. I know that it may have been just a simple email to her but I truly felt like she went above and beyond for me last night and I greatly appreciate it! Recommend SureFire CPR to anyone who is looking for hands-on training. Instructors actually do this gig part-time, they have full-time jobs as EMT's, Firefighters, etc. Getting training from folks out in the field. Instructor was very knowledgable. Really prepared us for the end of course tests and mega code stimulation. It was nice getting practice and hands on interaction. Will definitely be coming back here in 2 years for my ACLS and BLS renewals. I liked how it was a non-intimidating low stress learning environment. I know codes in real life are stressful, but is hard for me to learn and review concepts I haven't seen in a while in a high strung environment. I wasn't embarrassed to ask questions or ashamed of not knowing something because by the end of the class, I knew it. I took a CPR class here, they are knowledgeable and friendly, it wasnt boring they move fast but slow enough to help me understand. I registered the night before and the next morning took the class. In my work I need to know this just in case for emergency and having the dummy or fake human and baby to practice on CPR was helpful. Also spoke with them on the phone and were very courteous/polite. They offer free coffee and snacks as well in their little break room during the class. Would reccomend this place to anyone trying to get certified for CPR or first aid. read more
