Zero stars. Jake, you need to be let go. It's truly unbelievable how customers are treated here. I wanted to purchase a vehicle and was told by Jake someone had already shown interested in purchasing. Fair enough. 10am the morning of Jake mentioned the customer had the whole day to respond before it became available again to purchase. Texted him at 5:00pm asking if they had responded, no response until 9:30 the next morning saying he hadn't heard from the customer. Reasonably the car would be available for me to purchase, right? Wrong. It wasn't until I kept calling that Jake insisted on giving them more time to respond after hearing NOTHING back from the original customer for more than 24 hours! I wish I could write a better review but unfortunately I can't. We bought a car from them about a year and a half ago now and for the first year had tons of problems with it. When we first drove up it looks like a back alley and I thought about leaving. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and went in; it's more like a mechanics shop than a dealership which is fine. They were nice enough and things looked ok on the car so we ended up buying it. We had one issue with it not passing emissions in the warranty period but they fixed that under warranty. Shortly after the warranty expired it started overheating and we figured out that it had blown a head gasket. Went to replace that and when we got the heads off, we noticed that the cylinders were pitted and had rust on them and were generally not in good condition, so we ended up having to purchase and install a whole new short block for the car. Some of this may have been difficult for them to know about and I understand that, but in the process of taking everything apart and putting it back together there were several things that seemed like they were just bad mechanics or should have been seen in working on the car. The exhaust that they worked on was bolted at both ends but the center support was not connected to it's support at all. There was fairly think bracket for the alternator that was broken off on one end. The exhaust connector to the engine block was doubled for no reason and one of the bolts was missing. We found out later from a Subaru mechanic that helped us with the short block replacement that the spark plug wires are for an outback and while the work, they aren't really the right ones for the car and don't fit just right. All of this put together to me just points to poor quality of work; it seems more like they just want to make it work good enough to get through the warranty period for as cheap as possible, not actually do a good job of fixing the vehicles. I did contact Jake to see if there is anything they could do since the issues were so severe even though it was past the warranty period. I got ahold of him once and he said he would see what they could do, but he would never return my calls after that. I would have preferred an 'I'm sorry but there is nothing we can do' to being told maybe they could and then just being ghosted. Anyway, they seemed nice and I would like to write a better review, but in our experience it just doesn't seem like they do a good job or give a good product. read more

I bought a 2014 Subaru Forester XT with 33k miles and a selvage title in 2017. They were a pleasure to purchase from and have recommended them to friends. I found out my friend has bought 3 from them over the years. They guaranteed the work for 1 or 2 months and they fixed something minor and got me back on the road the next day. I love this car and will definitely purchase again from them. My Forester has 78k miles now, and only maintenance costs. They do mechanic work too. The thought of purchasing a rebuilt savage was really scary. There is a lot of trust that goes into not knowing if the vehicle was rebuilt properly and if you are getting ripped off because it is such a great price. However, I am so pleased with my recent purchase. Jake and his team were very helpful with any concerns I had and even allowed me to bring it in free of charge for a couple minor fixes that we missed during the initial sale. What this experience has taught me is that just because something seems too good to be true, you have to trust your gut and remember that there are still honest and hard working people out there. Wow! I wish I could give SIX stars or more to this business. Jake, the owner, is a gentleman and a genius. He took on a job for my Subaru that another mechanic had quoted for $518. Jake quoted $230. HOWEVER, an hour after he got the car in the shop, he phoned me and told me the first quote had been for work that didn't have to be done. He took care of the problem immediately for around $35. Honest AND efficient.......it doesn't get better than this! read more

Not so much a dealership as a garage with a small office. They fix up cars from dealer and insurance auctions. I was searching for a couple months for a car and literally looked at thousands online and dozens in person. My favorite dealer scam is advertising on their website and every day on Craigslist cars that either sold weeks/months ago or they never had in the first place just to get you to call so they can try to wrestle out your phone number and price range. The guys at Surefire were completely chill. The words "what can I do to see you driving this home today?" never uttered. I'm not crying over the lack of balloons or free coffee either. True Story- Me: Has the timing belt been changed? McDonald VW Salesman: I don't see anything in the carfax but probably, they usually change the Jettas at 80k. (srsly?) Jake at Surefire: Yes, I changed the timing belt and water pump and I have receipts and photos right here. (correct answer) Price of my 02 Jetta from Surefire= $4700 (as advertised) + tax = auction price + parts + reasonable labor = $600 below KBB retail ($1,000 below going market value). 3 month Engine & Transmission warranty included. Oh, and the car was removed from their listing by the time I drove it home. I'd say I plan on buying from them again but I expect to be driving this one for awhile. read more

Been shopping for months for a car, you know the drill, gotta put on your game face and be on guard. I didn't get that at all here. Both guys we talked to were happy to stop what they were doing to help us, but didn't pressure us or come off as cheesy or insincere. A difficult thing to fake when you're about to close and I know you've got work to get back to. This is one of those places that's a shop with a dealers license it seems. Could go either way in my opinion, but in this case we both were put at ease. Jake knew about the cat inside and out and showed us all the info he had on it, including the auction page, and a slew of photos he had from when they got it. We got a great car and great service, and the prices they give to their customers for work on any of their cars are really great. Check this place out for a car or mechanical work for your imports, I'll return. read more

After searching for months from a variety of sources for the right car, I ended up having a wonderful experience with Jake from SureFire motors. He was straightforward, no bull-sh#$ guy. All of his vehicles were reasonably priced and he put an incredible amount of effort into my vehicle before he sold it to me. Jake was a no-pressure guy that was easy to work with. He didn't try to sell my car out from under me, but he also didn't make me feel hurried to make a decision. He outlined all of the work that he did on my car before I purchased it, and he was also available when I ended up having an issue a few months later- turned out to be a blown fuse and a simple fix- he quickly called me back and told me how to replace the fuse so I could get on the road again. These guys are amazing! Seriously, don't discount them because they are a small place and typically only have a handful of cars for sale. Their main business is fixing cars, but they also sell used cars that they pick up at auction and then fix up. Not only do they offer great prices, but they give you a three-month/3000-mile warranty and will fix any problems that arise. I was hesitant about purchasing a car with a refurbished title but it turned out to be great and I got an amazing deal on it. Jake and Tah were wonderful to work with and helped me out with the financing. Seriously, no other dealership I've worked with has ever been so nice or helpful -- and none of them would have ever helped me the way Jake did. There is absolutely no sales pressure whatsoever and they were totally cool with me taking the car to my mechanic to inspect (he gave it the green light). I know they don't have a huge selection, but if you are interested in a car they do have, give them a chance. It's a bit of an odd location to get to, but it's worth it because I got an amazing deal and absolutely love my new car. read more

Bought my 2003 VW Jetta Wagon there a year ago. I dealt primarily with Jake. He worked on my car, and new it inside and out. There was no pressure, and lots of patience as I asked tons of questions, (it was my first time buying a car too). Love my car. It's 10 years old and has 125k miles, so it's not new, but after negotiating some repairs it checked out A++ at for a pre-sale inspection by my own VW mechanic. I would buy here again, but hopefully I won't have to for a while : ) Oh- it's not a glamorous office, it's not in a glamorous neighborhood. The people that work there really care about cars, not about making you feel warm and fuzzy. I read reviews that said don't let the mechanic-vibe of the place deter you. After all you want to buy a car from people who like and care about cars, not about the waiting lounge decor. Jake was great and sells an honest product. read more

We found a gem of a car at Surefire, with far fewer miles than we would have been able to purchase elsewhere (including independent sellers). These guys care about their cars and stand by their work and warrantee: three weeks after my 2009 Subaru purchase, I thought my wind shield wiper reservoir was damaged. They had me in the next day to replace it with no arguments! It turns out, I was just pressing the wrong button. Embarrassing, but goes to show that Surefire Motors can be trusted. Had an appointment to purchase a car and Jake never once returned a call. I tried to contact Jake all day after a test drive and telling his colleagues that I wanted to purchase the vehicle. I even asked whom I make a deposit to. My call was returned later that day telling me, he sold the car to someone after I viewed it and no apology. Very poor customer communication. read more
