I've been here so many times so it's about time I leave a review, I really enjoy the atmosphere here, super chill dive bar that makes you feel as if you're very far far from Brooklyn even though is on a busy street in Williamsburg. Everyone I've brought here has loved it. Their food is also really good, I enjoy their fish tacos and burgers. The servers are all sooo sweet and attentive. A neighborhood gem

Stumbled upon this fun, hole-in-the-wall tiki bar with sandy floors. The frozen drinks were yummy. We did two Miami Vice, good to share with 3 people. The frozen margarita was also pretty good. Food-wise was surprisingly good. The PEI mussels were so garlicky and delicious. There were also hand-cut fries that were skinny and crunchy. My only complaint is that there is only one bathroom, and the lines are loooong.

Take me to the beach in the middle of brooklyn within a bar, and here we are. Actual white sandy beaches as you enter the bar. The service wasn't bad. it wasn't great either right in the middle. The music was so calming a mix of top 70s and 80s hit. It was like the best songs of Lite fm radio station if that makes sense. I ordered the ceviche, and it was good. It just needed to be served with more plantain chips. The other ladies had the hot dog meal. Chicken sliders and fish tacos. They enjoyed their entrees. The drinks were refreshing, and the prices weren't killer for Williamsburg. I'd come back.

My friends did not disappoint me taking me here as the first stop for my belated birthday party How do you feel like you are experiencing the beach on a tropical island when you are landlocked in Williamsburg? The answer is come here There is sand on the floor, shells and nautical items on the wall, bamboo tables and surfboard abound. Staff was very nice while we waited a half an hour for our friends to arrive. They brought us water while we waited to order. The drink were nice and strong, at least the ones I had. I keep switching between the Zombie with the 151 float and the Painkiller. To eat I had the coconut shrimp which was good. My friends each ordered shrimp tacos which they seemed to like. We went on Saturday, so the place got busier as the day progressed. The music was on point as well.

This place has a very dark ambiance, which could feel a little claustrophobic but there is outdoor space. The sand on the floor is a cute idea, but messy. Ordered chicken skewers with a fried fish sandwich, the skewers were great. The fried fish was decent, the batter came right off so it defeated the purpose of "fried." The waiter was patient with us and was. Friendly.

Absolutely phenomenal service at the bar! Great drinks, great time, great vibes! Music was on point

Want to feel like you're at a tiki bar on the beach in the middle of New York City? If so, then surf Bar is your place. They offer indoor, semi indoor and outdoor with covering, seating. In keeping with the beach theme, they have sand on the floor so bring your flip flops. We opted for the outdoor seating. Service here is warm, friendly and efficient, 5 stars. You scan the piece of paper's QR code and the menu pops up on your phone. The menu list is short and has mostly appetizers and sandwiches. The prices are what you'd expect in this neighborhood. My aloha and goodbye cocktail concoction was dark rum with vanilla and ginger infused vanilla with coconut cream for $14. It came in a tall glass and they did not skimp on the rum and alcohol. A tasty delight for those into sweet cocktails. The homemade tortilla chips and avocado was $15 and tasted decent. I'd come back on a hot day I couldn't make it to the actual beach, and have a cold drink.

This is cool spot in Williamsburg with sandy floors, feel like a beach resort restaurant in Brooklyn. The oysters was good and the decor was nice. I will go back when I'm in the mood for that type of food and entertainment.

So came out this restaurant to celebrate some birthdays. The birthday girl wanted a chill vibe with good food. The menu has more drinks then food but the food we ordered was good. We had the coconut shrimp to start I just say it could of used a little salt for me but very tasty. Then we had the shrimp tacos and the steak and the Mahi Mahi burger. The steak was tender and flavorful and comes with a huge bed of fries. The fires were delish and even tasted great cold !!! The mahi mahi burger was fresh and soft and had a light flavor to it. And the shrimp tacos were good. I had a skinny mojito and it was made very well. Everyone else had some of their margarita. Yes that's sand on the floor.

Mahalo Surf Bar! . This place has been on my list for a long time and I finally got here on a Saturday early evening. This bar/restaurant has an awesome Hawaiian beach theme with sand on the floors in side the bar and a back courtyard with all sand with beach tables and umbrellas and palm trees giving you that full beach vibe! . We went here mostly for the awesome vibe not expecting much from the food but was very surprised when the grilled burger came out cooked perfect and tasted amazing and the mahi mahi burger was really good too! I will say the sweet potato fries are better than the regular fries. For a drink we shared the 2 ppl Miami Vice and it was delicious but a little bit on the weaker side. . In short: - Great beachy vibes - Good Food - Good but weak drinks - Deff Worth checking out

The inside is at least cool I guess

I want to express how I'm a big tiki bar girl. It's one of my favorite atmospheres to be in. So I'm really really bummed to say I really hated the drinks here. You go in and it seems pretty cool. Sandy floors and surfboards in the ceilings. Kinda made me feel like I found my spot for the night. To say I was highly disappointed is an understatement. The service was not great. The drinks we ordered was from there tiki selection. A zombie and a painkiller. Both being fairly priced at 16 dollars for a decent tiki drink. We received two red water cups with our drinks. I think it's fair to say the best part of a tiki bar outside of the tropical vibes and flavors are the cups. That being said I'm like hey it's a drink I don't need to be that girl. Then we tried them... I hate saying it was the worst drinks I've had all year. Not even remotely close to the drinks we ordered is why I'm making a review. It's just really awful and kind of a bummer. We did let our bartender know and had a awkward interaction so we ultimately left. Two doors Down was a fantastic bar and for the same price gave me a stunning mezcal bevy just saying.

I like this place because of the strong drinks they serve. They switched up the menu since I was last here which was pre-Covid. They don't have a big food menu however what we ordered was pretty delish!! I had a number of different things.. shrimp tacos. Crab cake. Mussels which I have to say were THE BEST!! Would definitely come back for those!! So good. Flavorful and fresh! Also had some of a friends steak and Branzino Fish. Everything was spot on. My ZOMBIE was strong and all I needed was 1! I'm definitely coming back for the mussels

Cute tiki spot in Brooklynn - decent drinks and I love the novelty of the sand on the floor.

    Are minors allowed here?

Yep. There is a huge dine-in section in the restaurant

How is this place overall and there prices as well?

It reminds me of a Hawaiian trip. This is a matter of taste and expectation, but the overall would be 8+/10. I really like this place. Prices are regular, not expensive, so to say.

We jumped over to the bar right beside and drank some girly drinks before getting the notification our table was ready. As with nearly every establishment in NYC, it is very close quarters in paradise lost. We stood at a table while waiting for seats at the bar to become available. Which, we didn't mind. I could see how this might be a little harder to get a seat for a bigger group if you aren't there before 6. It seemed that once a group got a big table, they camped out. The drinks were strong and creative. Friendly bartenders, good music, and yummy options for bar snacks. Also, the bathroom is a nice touch. Given the hell theming for the bar, the bathroom is a 180 and while using the Lou, you can listen to the bible being recited. Theres also a spooky surprise if you press the button in the bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom, it is at the bottom of some decently narrow stairs. So, try and stay sober enough for stairs or you may fall. Go to this bar. You will have fun.

We wanted to have after-dinner cocktails in a chill space, so we searched on our phones & saw Paradise Lost address via Google. We proceeded to walk down & was unable to find the establishment due to their being no front sign. After walking back & forth a few times, we saw another group walking towards the door & they confirmed the place. We walked inside the front door pressed a "doorbell" & lo & behold we gained entry after the previous group went inside. Definitely an incognito entrance. Once inside that door there is someone to greet you, & take your information. There is a forest/ grass/ jungle-looking foyer/ hallway we walked down to get to the next door. Before we knew it, we were near the "Paradise Lost No Vacancy" neon sign w/ an arrow pointing towards the snake-shaped knob door. It gets opened & a supercool speakeasy awaits.... Paradise Lost has mixed style table / seating arrangements throughout the place. A bar seating section, booth-style seating area, lounge- style seating area, etc. We got there a little after 7pm, so the afterwork crowd was in full swing. Paradise Lost has interesting atmosphere. At times a Gothic / Medieval Vibe, meets place w/ shipwreck decor, meets eleganct /club vibe w/ beautiful ceiling lighting, etc. Music played in the background. Staff are friendly, energetic, & attentive. We were pleasantly overwhelmed w/ the vast selection of tiki cocktails that were on the menu. Paradise Lost also have an intimate selection of snacks/ food menu items. This included Popcorn, Tater Tots, Devilled Eggs Rangoon Dip, etc. We ordered some cocktails served in unique tiki mugs & a bucket of popcorn to munch on w/ our drinks. The popcorn is flavored w/ Sea Buckthorn & Browm Butter, which gave it an special flavor profile. Our cocktails were well-prepared & nice & strong. Paradise Lost has individual unisex bathroom stalls & a communal vanity & sink area. The bathroom stalls have spooky voices coming from a speaker as you use the bathroom. I was so humorously taken aback, it had me laughing when I came out...Definitely a different thing to experience in the bathroom - lol. Before we left we watched one of the bartenders do a cocktail "fire" presentation for some patrons in a booth seated area. Wow.... Paradise Lost accepts walk-ins only, no reservations. Paradise Lost accepts groups of 8 or less, unless you are requesting to book the space for a private event. Ages 21+ paradiselost.nyc @paradiselostnyc Paradise Lost is open everyday - 5pm-2am.

There are certainly things to love about Williamsburg but something I tire of is how many businesses in the area seem to adhere to a more formulaic rubric and in the process ends up feeling generic and less memorable. Pokito is a place that knows what it is and its essence is palpable. We only stopped in for one drink but I almost felt like an interloper upon entry, like I was walking into a party I wasn't invited to. This is not to say I felt unwelcome, but more that I am not a regular here and most of the other patrons seemed to know one another and the staff, which I much prefer to a more impersonal vibe. Overall, Pokito is fun and funky and chill and has seriously good cocktails that are creative and refined. We came here after dinner on a Saturday night, probably around 10:30. It was decently busy and most seats were taken but luckily the two vacant ones were two stools at the bar which we happily grabbed. Though I am never one to pass up a dirty martini and I still have FOMO when I look at Pokito's menu now, I ended up ordering the Smoki Negroni (suntory roku gin, campari, sweet vermouth, smoked lapsang souchong black tea and orange bitters) because I had ordered a dirty martini at dinner and a negroni was feeling like the right choice for this time of night. This one was as good as any, made special by the addition of smoked lapsang souchong which I've had in cocktails a few times it always adds some rich, earthy, smoky notes to a drink. Though we weren't here for too long, Pokito made an impact. On a different night, I could easily see myself spending much more time here -- it's perfect for a late night hang with a small group.
