Incredible fun time for puzzling guests. My favorite game is Spector Inspector because 1. Theme 2. puzzle creativity. All of the games are good. I'd recommend Surf or Sherlock theme for new players to start.

My team and I really enjoyed running around Huntington Beach! It was a really beautiful day and you can't beat being right along the water. The puzzles we thought were on the easy side, but still challenging enough where we took over an hour to complete from start to finish. Most of our team are engineers so we loved the puzzles and caught on quick. The gals who run the activity mentioned that they have other versions that are much more challenging, so we may be interested in the future. Overall, I'd recommend Downtown Detectives! The cost was affordable and we had a blast.

But, this beats them all. The creativity of the clues, outdoor setting & ability to combine all the elements of an escape room, dinner detective type show & scavenger hunt were just awesome, to say the least. My girls & her friends had a blast! We chose the easiest of the mysteries since it was their first time. But, it was still challenging. Definitely bring a water bottle, preferably w/ carrier so you're hands free & wear comfortable shoes. Nina & Jenna were so kind & accommodating, from begining to end. Planning on booking w/ some friends for my own birthday coming up!

We began with the Aji tuna on crispy rice, topped with a delicate sliver of jalapeño and crispy shallots, a perfect balance of freshness, spice, and crunch. The second course was Stefanie's famous focaccia...one sweet and one savory. The savory version featured parmesan, her homemade bread and butter, pickles from her garden, and a touch of mustard seed. The bread, made simply with flour, water, and salt, takes two to three days to create. The sweet focaccia was equally impressive, topped with brie, honey, and a guava jam made from her own garden-grown guavas... truly special. Next came the sweet potato course, made from her garden's harvest and paired with roasted pine nuts and coconut-shaved gnocchi in brown butter. The flavors were rich yet comforting, and the presentation was artistic and thoughtful. The main course... short ribs with a stunning potato gratin, was a showstopper. The short ribs were tender and deeply flavorful, garnished with delicate edible flowers from her garden, while the gratin was layered beautifully and topped with a fragrant chimichurri. Dessert was one of the best I've ever had: a sticky toffee date cake with a caramel apple sauce made from apples in her garden, served with raw cream vanilla bean ice cream. The balance of warmth, sweetness, and texture was perfection. The wine pairings, thoughtfully curated by Oscar from Sequoia Grove Winery, elevated the entire experience, from the velvety Merlot to the bold Cabernet, every sip complemented the food flawlessly. What makes Chef Stefanie so special is her warmth and authenticity. She shares her passion for food and where it comes from in a way that's engaging and educational, never pretentious. She spends time presenting each dish beautifully, with an artist's eye and a chef's heart. Her artistry, attention to detail, and genuine love for her craft come through in every course. I'll absolutely be attending her future chef's table events, a beautiful evening of intentional cooking, soulful flavors, and gracious hospitality.

Marc, the owner, was very nice and kind. He even allowed me to do a special request where I wore an outfit (which is a Morpshuit with t-shirt and shorts) underneath the gear used for the rage room. Very kind of him to accommodate this. I have never done a rage room before, so it was a unique experience. Shattering glass, and breaking things felt very liberating and it helped me release tension/anger. Additionally, at the very end, there was even another surprise where Marc even taught me how to throw ninja stars on the wooden board. It was super cool. At first, I couldn't get any ninja stars to stick, but on one of my final attempts, I actually did get the ninja star to stick, which was awesome!! I was pretty elated that I was able to do that! Anyways, shout out to Marc the owner for being very nice and accommodating. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a cool, friendly place to do a rage room or an escape room. I should check out their escape rooms some time soon.

Overall a positive experience with a couple of cons:…read more - When we arrived, there wasn't any clear instructions of where/what we should do as there is no front desk. Also took a while before someone came out to help (I think they were in the back assisting maybe another customer?) but some signage would help. - Waivers could be sent prior to arrival to save on time since it was a google form - staff could be more welcoming and better at explaining. I understand it may be sketchy to go to a customer's car to evaluate items brought from home since it could be a risk to the staff, but I think it could either be instructed earlier before arrival OR simply just state that you cannot leave the business. The delivery of the comment made by the staff was not very smooth (almost felt like implying we were bringing something bad or wrong). - A timer inside the room might be helpful as it's hard to keep track of time once you're destroying things. - Phone "mount" could be better secured with a clasp or something because one bump and our phone fell on the ground where there's shards and scraps everywhere. This could have easily scratched the phone. - Room felt cramped, but understand that may be limited by the size of the store space. - Half of the group was arriving late, in which I shared upfront and thought that the staff would assist in getting them as ready as possible before our first group came out to swap, but when I came out, I saw that they had not even begun to change. I understand the face shield and gloves are limited quantities, but they could have started fitting in the other items like jumpsuit and face coverings. - Also as we were swapping, I ended up giving the second group the instructions when it really should have been the staff to give them the run through. It felt very disorganized during the swapping. For the price, I think it would be nice if each group received at least one larger item and not just cups, plates, and glass. All-in-all, it was fun to let out some rage by wrecking things and not having to clean it up. My friends and I did enjoy this different experience. Also fun to watch them from the room cam inside the Axe Room as they rage.

After that, you step into a fighter jet cockpit, and that's when it really gets fun. The experience felt surprisingly realistic -- from taking off a carrier, to actual flight time, and then attempting a landing. You get a solid amount of time in the air (around 30 minutes), so it doesn't feel rushed at all. What stood out most was how immersive everything felt. Sitting in the cockpit, going through the motions, and working through the flight made it feel like more than just a "game." The crew was awesome -- friendly & patient Overall, a great experience and something different to do, especially if you're looking for something fun to share with your kids.

As in the only other people aside from my party were the staff. I showed up early to the empty building but still needed to wait for my reservation despite no other visitors so I'm pretty glad that it was located in a walkable location. My party did the Racing + FOX 1 combo. The racing sim was alright. Not that much different than what I can experience at the usual arcades. The dogfighting Sim was the highlight of the night. The set up where each individual has their own replica of a cockpit made it really immersive. I thought the cockpit would also move according to how we maneuver the jet, but that wasn't the case. The staff would also communicate to all of us during our dogfight, commentating on who took down whose plane. It was a decent experience, but I'm not sure if it's something I would do again.

Each of the locations are so unique, so even after you've done one, you will have a completely different experience at another location. It's one of my goals to hit up every location the mastermind and creative genius, Alex, has designed, and I'm well on my way with only one location left. In my opinion, these hunts are way more fun than an escape room because (1) they're longer -- 3-4 hours vs. 1-hour escape rooms -- thus more bang for your buck; (2) they involve walking around beautiful beach cities so you get exercise while enjoying the sun, fresh air, and creation; (3) they allow you to observe and appreciate art, monuments, and plaques you would normally otherwise overlook and walk right past; (4) they're designed so as you're walking between places, you can also chit chat with your teammates; and (5) they provide live competition against all the other teams and therefore fun motivation to work quickly and efficiently. I participated in my first Murder Mystery Scavenger Hunt back in 2015, and I can confidently say that even after running these events for so many years, Alex is still just as passionate, invested, responsive, and funny. I cannot recommend these scavenger hunts enough!
