Have you ever had something happen with a pup and you are completely lost on what to do? Well…read morethat's what happened with us and we are sooooo thankful for Mike at Anytime Dog Training!! Our 5 month old male pittie mix bit our son requiring a trip to the pediatrician and 2 fur parents who have dogs all their lives with no clue what to do with the pup. We didn't want to give him away, we contacted the rescue we got him from who said they'd probably put him down, so I started reaching out to trainers for help. The email I sent Anytime Dog Training probably made me sound like a crazy person just overreacting, but I was anxious and overwhelmed, and Mike reached out on the day they received the email (the day they were closed btw) to find out what was going on and were able to come over the next day for a consult. We felt immediately better after meeting Mike and his wife and knew we had picked the right place. We dropped our pup Loki off for a 3 week board and train for behavioral modification and knew he'd be ok. The facility was clean and well-maintained, nice and cool on one of the hottest days of the year so far. It's always scary leaving your baby for their first overnight stay away from home but Mike eased our nerves by sharing videos of Loki making new friends, putting in the training work, and how absolutely happy he was being there. Mike brought him to our home several times throughout the weeks for us to train with Loki as a family for us to see how far he'd come in his training, along with getting our son comfortable with Loki again. I mean Loki loves Mike, and you've gotta be a pretty good guy to gain the love and respect from a big head bully pup! We could not be anymore impressed with Mike's skill and expertise with training our stubborn Loki, and answering all the questions and the fears from his mama lol. Teaching Loki to be a better version of his self was worth every penny we spent for the care and professionalism he received. Now that we know we've found the best, we will never board our Loki anywhere else. Plus definitely plan on sending him and his big sister Penny there for doggy daycare to play again soon!!

My wife and I have taken our two 12-year-old dogs to American Pet Resort since we moved to New Bern…read more2 years ago for both boarding and daycare services. Though expensive, we have had nothing but good experiences keeping our dogs with them until most recently. One of our dogs, a very social and well behaved West Highland terrier, was banned from spending any time with other dogs on the 2nd day of a 7-day stay after bitting another dog. He spent 6 out of the 7 days of our trip either in the kennel or, for some reason, the hallway outside the kennel while our other dog was in the kennel--a very strange decision given that he's great with our other dog. Why not have them in the same space? Though my Westie has never shown signs of violence or aggressiveness before, I realize the need for them to be careful and protect the other dogs, but no one at American Pet Resort contacted us to tell us what had occurred. We learned after looking at the online cameras. There we saw our Westie confined to his kennel while all the other dogs, including our second dog, were playing outside. Why didn't someone from the kennel call us to let us know? That kind of proactive communication is something I expect. I was none too pleased to find out what happened only after having to make a call to find out why our Westie was left alone in his kennel during outside time. While away, I made a call suggesting the staff place my Westie and my second dog in a separate outdoor space with one another. The staff member I spoke to said they would do so, but they only did so once. Our Westie spent the next 5 days out of our 7 day trip in either in his kennel or the hallway (?) just outside of the kennel, and has been banned from outdoor play with other dogs during future visits. We will make sure that there will be no future visits.

Such an incredible facility with an amazing staff. We won't use any other kennel again. They explain everything and provide a tour of the facility. He came with some bad habits especially while on the leash. Our Veterinarian recommended Bill Mattis at River Ridge Kennels. After we talked to Bill on the phone we enrolled Teddy in the six week obedience training course. And what a blessing! We found their prices very reasonable and the training was excellent. There were six dogs in our class and each dog had their own set of issues and personalities. The love, respect and compassion Bill showed our pets was nothing short of amazing. Well, Teddy passed with flying colors and my wife and I did as well. Bill and staff come with many years of experience and I can't give enough praise to Bill as he is the consummate professional when it comes to training dogs AND their owners. They went above and beyond to accommodate me and my Kingston. And they updated me with pictures and comments every single day as to his comfort and well-being. Sadly , Kingston passed away just a month after that, and when I called them and notified them that I would have to cancel this Thanksgiving boarding appointment, they were most empathetic and loving. And then today I got a package with the rainbow bridge story as well as a beautiful card with everyone who attended to Kingston, just that one week , with memories and signatures. What a top-notch family and a fabulous business. I highly recommend them to everyone.

I have had to fog my house, powder my carpets and throw out her dog beds. Brought this up to the pet Ranch, ZERO response. I am still in the flea fight with no end in sight. Animal house staff have always taken great care of my baby both during is long stays and grooming sessions. Recently got him groomed for the first time this summer and had an incredible experience. Staff took great care of his undercoat along with being able to manage getting his nails trimmed which I know can be a task in itself. Very timely service dropped him off in the morning they had him finished and ready to go in just a few houses.

I took my friend's dog here for a grooming appointment at 9:30, pick up window was set for…read more4:30-4:45. She has taken the dog to Animal House several times in the past. When dropping him off I told the person at the counter not to shave him totally and the girl looked at my friends account on the computer and told me that she understood because there were notes saying how to clip him. My friend came at 4:30 to pick up her dog and was told they hadn't started working on him yet! She waited 30 minutes until they were done. When they brought him out to go home it was a real chop job, the ridges from the clipper were visible from the side it was obvious that certain areas were shaved unevenly. The hair on the head and around the ears was chopped with no attention to detail. She was shocked and spoke to the owner about how awful the job was and asked for a partial refund, at least for the tip given. The owner said she would get back to her and never did. I have clipped and shaved my own dogs at home and know I could've done a better job!

The people there are super nice and they do a fantastic job…read more My dog is very difficult to groom and they worked with him but also aren't afraid to let me know if they needed to stop or adjust the groom so he doesn't get pushed too hard. He had an awful experience with a groomer in the past so he tends to be an anxious guy. His last groom was extra special to me because he let them complete it and looked amazing! He also was the calmest I've seen him ever leave a groomer before. They also groomed my long haired cat! It was my first time trying it and she looks so nice! Her fur is extra soft too and I also loved that they work with cats but much like anxious dogs, told me they wouldn't push a cat's groom if they were too stressed about it. She also was absolutely fine coming home too. Just all around a wonderful place that I'm lucky to have near me! Couldn't recommend them enough and I totally understand why you have to book well in advance to get an appointment. They're a really special find!
